I suppose the other should be guarded too. Anyway, I suppose that concurrent call of Invalidate from addEntry and from the main thread may have caused the crash in the attached stack trace. The attached patch locks the SolarMutex at the place of call of each of these methods, in the same way it's already been done for checkEntries. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Specifically: Before saving a document as .docx (or re-saving a .docx), OpenOffice gives me the generic warning: This document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in the Microsoft Word 2007 XML format, etc. I punch the Keep Current Format button, and it saves. I close the document, then reopen it. Everything else about the footnote comes out fine: font, size; the only difference that I can observe when I reopen the file is that some kind of newline character has been added to the end of each footnote. It seems like a very consistent, simple, easy-to-fix bug. Hope this helps. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 110079] Formula calculation
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=110079 --- Additional comments from j...@openoffice.org Fri Apr 2 15:20:22 + 2010 --- The problem is exactly as I wrote above: using text strings as numbers in a formula can cause all kinds of problems, not only in OOo 3.2. Change all the quoted numeric strings to plain numbers and your formula will give a numeric result with no error. Change 0.00 to plain 0 Change TIMEVALUE(0.30) and 0.30 to TIME(0;30;0) At first I can think that the test C1-B10.30 minutes does not work fine on OO 3.2, but that is not true. In fact if I extract the C1-B10.30 and I put it on cells E4 and E5, this test work fine on both versions of OO. It is true that the formula does not cause an error, but does it do the calculation that you need? Try these: =00.30 - TRUE (ok) =10.30 - TRUE (no!) =1e60.30 - TRUE (no!) Calc considers _any_ text item to be less than _any_ numeric value. It does not convert the text to a number and compare the numeric values. So in your formula, C1-B10.30 will always be true. Please use the mailing list or the forum for help using Calc. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 110572] Constant crashes
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=110572 Issue #|110572 Summary|Constant crashes Component|framework Version|OOo 3.2 Platform|Macintosh URL| OS/Version|Mac OS X, 10.6 Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P1 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|tm Reported by|bronwynboltwood --- Additional comments from bronwynboltw...@openoffice.org Fri Apr 2 19:09:18 + 2010 --- When I try to use OpenOffice it now crashes constantly, The program is no longer usable. I only really use the Writer and Calc, and occasionally Impress. Originally, with Snow Leopard and (I think) OO 3.1.1 it worked ok -- only crashed occasionally. At some point I let it upgrade to OO 3.2 and crashes got much more frequent: I could not open Calc at all, and Writer crashes increased to the point where it too could not run. This may have started under OSX 10.6.2, or maybe only after upgrading to 10.6.3. I tried deleting my OO profile (under my account, then Library, then Application Support) as many webpages and forum posts advised, and that let OO open again. And then it started crashing again. I removed OO and reinstalled a fresh copy off the web, with a new profile. Same problems with crashing except that I discovered an even more efficient method: open the preferences, and it crashes right away! I removed OO entirely, decided that maybe 3.2 was the problem, and scoured the internet for a copy of 3.1.1 which the folks writing your download page have made an absolutely miserable job. I deleted the OO profile again and installed 3.1.1. Now 3.1.1 won't work on this machine either -- it has exactly the same problems as 3.2 before it, despite multiple removals and reinstalls including the OO profile. I have tried autorecovering the files I was working on, and not autorecovering them, and it makes no difference. I would delete the ones it has stored, in case they are causing the crashes, but I can't find out where they are because the paths listing is in the preferences, and opening that crashes the program within moments. It will also happily crash on new blank documents, especially in Writer. Please fix this. I use OpenOffice for school, and now all existing documents in it are inaccessible until this is resolved. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Instead I get [“’] (a starting double and an ending single quotation mark). [sw-issues] [Issue 110579] All OO documents open as nothing but paragraphs of #s.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=110579 Issue #|110579 Summary|All OO documents open as nothing but paragraphs of # |s. Component|Word processor Version|OOo 3.2 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Windows XP Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|open-import Assigned to|writerneedsconfirm Reported by|ayanin --- Additional comments from aya...@openoffice.org Fri Apr 2 23:04:40 + 2010 --- My copy of open office was working just fine until today. Today, the last thing I did in Open Office before the problem happened, was to copy and paste Japanese text into a new Open Office file, which I did not save. (No problems there.) THEN, when I tried to open one of my ordinary, English-text open office files, it gave me a prompt, something about ASCII and no matter what I select, when the file opened, it opened as a whole document full of #. Furthermore, ALL of my open office files now open like that. (Years of work.) I have tried re-installing Open Office, renaming my user profile and making a new one, and even deleting my user profiles (old and new) and THEN uninstalling and re-installing the software. All of my files still open this way. I recall that this has happened before, and I posted about it in the forums, and the question was answered, and I was able to access all of my documents again just fine... but unfortunately, I don't remember what I was told, and I cannot find it again in the forums. I am desperate. This is my life's work, and even if I have it backed up somewhere, what good is that, if all of my files will be opened like this? I have tried posting to the forums again, but people do not seem to know the answer, and only suggested the ideas about the user profile. Please, if anyone can help me, I would very much appreciate it. Just to let you know, other people have had this problem before (I searched for the issue on google) and it seems like these people are basically being told, well... tough luck. Sorry for you, but looks like everything is just lost. They're mistaking it as file corruption, but clearly, if one minute all of my files are fine, and the next minute only all of my open office files are having this issue... this doesn't seem like mere file corruption to me. And even more suspicious is that this happened just after I used Asian text in Open Office. Please, please look into the issue. I cannot stand to think that years of my work is simply gone, because of some kind of irreversible Russian roulette bug in Open Office, whereby all of one's files spontaneously turn into digital vegetables. Who can afford to use this software if there's a chance you'll loose everything, even if you DO back it up? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 52226] Open with last edited docu ment

If you close with 5 or 10 documents open and it opens them all the next time you start the program, that would save a lot more effort than going through -- File, Recent Documents, name-of-recent-document -- just once. Its certainly handy when I have 15 tabs open in Firefox (like I do right now) and close Firefox to shut down and take my laptop elsewhere. And it looks like 12686 addresses making a tabbed interface. http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12686 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've installed a copy of NeoOffice which works so far, and that takes some pressure off fixing this. I have reinstalled OO 3.2 and attached a crash report from the crash that happens from opening the preferences dialog. Now that I want the crash report from opening an autorecover document, of course that works. :) It only offers to send a crash report to Apple. Is that normal, or should there be an OO crash reporter coming up too? Let me know how else I can help, and thank you for answering so quickly, on a holiday too. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For the past year or two I've been off on other assignments. Now that I'm back I'm trying to update all of our older tools. While trying to install the 3.2.0 release, I'm told that I *must* have root access to install the package. All of our freeware tools are installed under a non-root user account and I do not have root access. The last installation I did was for the version2.0 series and it did not require root access. There is absolutely nothing about this application that requires it to be installed as the root user. Installing tools under a non-root account actually priovides a better level of security for the use of the tools. Forcing a requirement of root access to install the tool is just plain silly. As of this point I can no longer maintain this tool for our site due to your install package requirements. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 103176] zoom slider grabs cursor anywhere on screen

This triggers the zoom slider. A work around to this most annoying behavior would be to allow the zoom-slider to be disabled in the status bar as an option. Can this be done? I can find no documentation for this. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
