Forget the 'after a few days'. I now know this happens sometimes after a big merge is being interrupted by killing OOo. This will leave the lock file /tmp/.~lock.SwMM0.odt#. Such a lock file prevents new instances from running the mail merge. I solved it by preventing that OOo is killed by doing a mail merge (this was a bug in one my own scripts), and by giving each OOo instance it's own tmpdir. OK - When there are two displays then you can define the one on which to show the presentation via the Slide Show-Slide Show Settings... *BUT* the second specification is not sufficient. Currently -without my patch- and starting the presentation doing nothing, the Presenter screen is ALWAYS shown on the external monitor (the videoprojector one), and the presentation appears always on my laptop. = This is wrong, and a bad user experience, because to make it work, the user must always open the dialog box, to make it work as expected (and the user sometimes has no clue where click to solve the issue ... ) The goal of my patch, is to swap the screens as the should be during the presentation : simply always have the presenter screen on the laptop, and the presentation on the videoprojector _without_open_any_dialog_box_ ... just working. The later behavior provides a far better user experience, and this is what I propose in my patch. I must say it is not perfect, and certainly needs some change, but this is imho a good beginning. This table contains several fileds. One of thse fields is Active, a boolean. When I use the report wizard in OOo 3.2 Base to create a report (Query_Accounts) that contained the field Active, the boolean field was automatically displayed as a check box. I did not do anything special to get this displayed as a check box in the report. Now, using OOo base 3.3.0 RC8, I attempted to create another report containing the field Active. Now the boolean field displays os either 0 or 1. I can change this to TRUE or FALSE, but I cannot make the field display as a check box in the report. So I attemped to add a check box control tot the report. But when I do this I am unable to associate the check box control with any field.(see report Accounts) The bootom line is that now in OOo 3.30, i cannot display the boolean filed as a check box. Our style guide wants the captions below the tables. There are many references to the tables/captions. If I delete an old caption and create a new one below the table, I lose the cross reference. If I cut and paste an old caption, I lose the cross reference. It would be better if the caption were part of the table (and figure). The caption should be set on a tab from within the edit table dialog. That tab should specify whether the caption is above/below, which paragraph type to use for the caption, whether the caption repeats if the table breaks across pages, how much vertical space separates the table from the caption, etc. This way, we could change caption position, location, repeats, without breaking cross-references.
