[graphics-issues] [Issue 35752] Option to make line text i n connectors parallel with the line
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=35752 --- Additional comments from ssepp...@openoffice.org Tue Dec 21 10:03:51 + 2010 --- Nice to see this issue getting some attention after a while. I have used the workaround that AW has suggested and it works pretty well, but if you have multiple lines of text, only the first row is visible with this option enabled. Still, if this feature already exists in the code base, it is shame that so useful feature is so well hidden from the ordinary users. I think more people would use it if this setting could be integrated to the regular Format - Text dialog, where you already can set position of the text ancor. Also, it would be useful if the orientation option could be made automatic. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 82926] Columns in index/table get mangeled when saving as .doc Word format

I tested this a little bit more and found out that it is the tab-stop position that is messing Word layout. It seems that Word can't handle it if the tab-stop position is more than the column width. If I change the tab-stop position to the column width, then Word displays the columns correctly. Because of this I think that issue 59347 is not related. I think Issue 59347 just about that Word can't Evenly distribute contents to all columns. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Now my problem is solved, I just have to change the root element name in the xslt file that the program uses to create the content.xml document. Though it is strange that 2.1 and previous versions had no problems in opening my documents with the wrong root element name and showing the outline numbering. In the end of the file there are headings that should have outline numbering, but when you open the file with OOo 2.2 the outline numbering gets lost. With OOo 2.1 the file opens correctly. If I save the file after opening the file in OO 2.2 and view the styles.xml file, I find that the style:default-outline-level attribute in the Heading styles is gone. Even the 40 sec save to a harddisk is already quite long. I just tried it on a 100 Mbps connectien where the is no other traffic, turned off all other applications including realtime virus protection and it still takes 2min 15sec . I have no other applications that saves to a network drive even nearly this long time, even with many times larger documents. Also opening the document from a local harddisk takes 15 sec and opening from a network drive takes the same time, 15 sec. Opening the document from a network drive is no slower than opening from a harddisk. Considering there is no difference in the opening times, the save time difference is quite long. Yes I know saving is slower, but this much. Also if OO could first save the network document locally and then just copy it over the network. The save time would be only 40 sec + 1 sec instead of 2 min 15 sec. Anyway, thanks for your time. -Saku - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. By watching the system monitor I found that during the 2min 15sec saving OO takes about 2.5% from the 100 Mbps connection. Thats about (0.025 * 100 Mbps * 135s )/ 8 = 42Mb of data transferd back and forth the line. 2. Monitoring the sent and received bytes confirmed that saving the document produced Send bytes: 15 531 025 Received bytes: 18 295 856 Total: 33,8 Mb of data So saving 110 kb document creates 33,8 Mb of network traffic. 3. I also used a filemonitor to monitor filesystem activities during the save to find out what was happening. Monitoring the file revealed that apparently OO checks the state of the file about 10 000 times which shows as repetation of block of log data below int the filemonitor log file. This block repeats about 9350 times filemonitor log file. # TimeProcess Request PathResult Other BLOCK 76 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664OPEN T:\network_save_test.odtSUCCESS Options: Open Access: All 77 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664OPENT:\ SUCCESS Options: Open Directory Access: All 78 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664DIRECTORY T:\ SUCCESS FileBothDirectoryInformation: network_save_test.odt 79 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664CLOSE T:\ SUCCESS 80 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664OPENT:\ SUCCESS Options: Open Directory Access: All 81 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664DIRECTORY T:\ SUCCESS FileBothDirectoryInformation: network_save_test.odt 82 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664OPENT:\ SUCCESS Options: Open Directory Access: All 83 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664DIRECTORY T:\ SUCCESS FileBothDirectoryInformation: network_save_test.odt 84 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664CLOSE T:\ SUCCESS 85 11:41:20soffice.bin:3664CLOSE T:\ SUCCESS 86 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664OPENT:\ SUCCESS Options: Open Directory Access: All 87 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664DIRECTORY T:\ SUCCESS FileBothDirectoryInformation: network_save_test.odt 88 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664CLOSE T:\ SUCCESS 89 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664OPEN T:\network_save_test.odt\ NOT A DIRECTORY Options: Open Directory Access: All 90 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664OPEN T:\network_save_test.odt\ NOT A DIRECTORY Options: Open Directory Access: All 91 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664OPENT:\ SUCCESS Options: Open Directory Access: All 92 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664DIRECTORY T:\ SUCCESS FileBothDirectoryInformation: network_save_test.odt 93 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664CLOSE T:\ SUCCESS 94 11:41:26soffice.bin:3664OPEN T:\network_save_test.odt\ NOT A DIRECTORY Options: Open Directory Access: All /BLOCK I will attach the whole filemonitor LOG file - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Interesting, actually I have already tested this fonttest.xml file with JEdit and I can't see any invalid characters there. I have opened it also with several other text editors and no invalid characters there. Also if I rename fonttest.xml to fonttext.txt and open it as plain text file in OO, I cant see any invalid characters. BTW the finnish language characters are valid and the all the russian characters. I mean the kind of squares you see in the screenshot file fonttest.jpg I have attached. Have you looked at it. Do you mean that you see that kind of square or othervise invalid characters (depending on the fontset you have) when you open the document in JEdit. Could you add a screenshot of your view in JEdit showing these ivalid characters there. Saku - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. These invalid characters appear as in the resulting document. In Finnish language these characters are . Similary also certain special german, russian, etc couse randomly invalid character output. To produce this bug, the source XML document has to be relatively large. I have a simple XSLT file to produce XML filter and a simple XML file to be tranformed from demostrating this bug. To produce the bug make a simple XML filter fonttest of the attached fonttest.xsl document and open the attached fonttest.xml document with it. The transformation should go fine, but you should notice a few character spread randomly around the document. If you open and save the document many times, the outline level of an index entry becomes eventually 10. When trying to open a document that has an index entry with outline level 10, the opening of the document fails because OO tries to increase the outline level 11. This is very serious because it leads to corrupted documents Table of contents index entries change only from outline-level 10 to 1. Steps to produce the error: Create a new text document. Insert a new User-Defined index entry test with outline level 8 in the beginning of the document. Now save the document, close it and open it again. Now the level of the index entry is 9. If you save the document and open it again the outline level of the index entry is 10. If save the document once more and try to open, it fails because outline level cannot be 11.
