[arr] Re: Munbe Munbe Vaa is a complete lift of a sample!

2007-07-29 Thread Raj
Hi Krishna,

You state that you are a composer and that you "use" the samples.
But you state that ARR lifted & copied the samples. In tat case are
your songs lifted and copied songs? Wait read thru my post fully and
then decide to blast me later.

Now what i am trying to say is that you should just think before
you post bro.How could ARR copy or lift a sample when that sample is
being sold as a royalty free sample in which its main purpose is to
be used in songs,TV, films or where ever musically needed. Maybe you
didnt know how to put it.Just say ARR "used" so n so samples.
Recently i read an article in behindwoods where they stated copied
stuffs from composers, while other composers had directly lifted and
copied from other songs(the tune) Our man ARR is also in the list
but for "copyin" samples!! Its about time we as musicians and being
fans of ARR explain this to others.Rather then just calling he
copied.It's really very lame.

No offence to you buddy..btw what kinda songs do you compose and
where r u located at? Am a composer too.Mail me we could talk abt
music compositions.

Cheers
Raj

hey guys

i just happened to see today's episode of 'ennodu paattu padungal' on jaya
tv. One of the contestants sang Puthu Vellai Mazhai from Roja. After the
song, SPB said "This is one Rahman's best compositions. I always ask him why
he doesn't do this type of songs often." He said its bcos of producer'
pressure that Rahman often score western type of music.

Subject: [arr] Parasuram - One Man Army in Hindi

Sometime back a guy from Mumbai had posted that he saw a poster of
Hindi dubbed movie of Parasuram! We did not know it at all!

Confused by reading that, I had asked my distributor friends in Mumbai, but now
it seems that they couldn't come up with correct info. Their answer was: it was
Tamil movie only, released in Mumbai, with subtitles.

Rahmaniacs! Now the things are getting clear. Parasuram Hindi movie version is
being telecast on Set Max on August 1st, 4.00 PM. Thanks to Vivek, fellow
friend from the group, who informed me about this, and also took pains to catch
a screenshot of the ad.

This is the IMDB link for Parasuram Hindi which says it was released on 17th
March 20006.

http://www.imdb. com/title/ tt0829257/

Question remains whether the audio had released, and if yes, on which label.
Search is important than the destination!

Friends, those who get a chance to see the movie, please try to record THE
SONGS. As it will be very rarest opportunity to listen to these rare songs from
AR!

I'm sure, some kind soul would be kind enough to record and share it!

Thanks in anticipation.

2007-07-29 Thread K. M. Ameer
Hi, I too have this sample. I bought this from e-Lab Sweden for
800 singapore dollars. Now the company is not making loops but
have switched over to making sythesizer softwares/instrument
softwares http://www.equippedmusic.se/

I knew that this loop was fantastic, but I was reluctant to use it
in my compositions, as no one in tamil music have used this type
of loops before. I was surprized to find this in ARR's song. As
always happens, many copycats started using the same patten
after this. One thing I notice is that ARR always use the best
and beutiful loop from 3-5000 loops in each CD. The remaining
ones are most of the time useless for compositions. My point is,
everyone has these loops and sample CDs, but it is only ARR
who first pick up the best loop from these CDs. It is nothing but,
intelligence.

[arr]Munbe Vaa sample

2007-07-29 Thread Muktak Kanjilal
Can u plz upload the sample in rapidshare.com or send me the sample via
e-mail.. with proof... i just want to hear the sample And for ur
information the samples are made to be used by MD... even the beats of O Humdum
Suniyo Re are also used from a loop sample These loops are available in the
market.. and only the gr8 MDs know where to use which one... and as someone
said earlier these loops are not made to release in CDs.. these are made for
the MDs to use in their compositions as beats

[arr] Top 5 ARR compositions that brings a lump to your throat / tears in your eyes

2007-07-29 Thread Reformed Sinner
hi ppl,

I just compiled a list of ARR songs that are special in a different way.
These songs bring tears to my eyes whenever I listen to them (dont know if
others feel the same). These songs might not be highly sentimental but
they've managed to touch my soul.

Here is my top 5:

1. Poongatrile/Yeh Ajnabi from Uyire/Dil Se - (both versions are equally
effective).
2. Aazadi from Bose - The Forgotten Hero (ARR's voice and the chorus are
awesome)
3. Tamizha Tamizha - Roja (the music & picturization has a combined effect)
4. Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera - Swades (gr8 lyrics & amazing rendition)
5. Yeh Tara Woh Tara - Swades (the combo of Udit's voice, 2 different kids'
voice does the trick)

of course i can go on with more but i'll stop with top 5 for now

so what is on your list?

People make Loop CDs and sample banks specially for composers to use in

Hi guys and girls,

Me as a omposer do use lots of samples, not in all my music. Ofcourse
I'm not the only one who uses these samples.
Last month I bought a sample bank: Uberschall - Da Nu RnB, Hip Hop
Drum Loops and Samples.

I was really glad hearing these awesome samplestill suddenly I
heard a simmilarity between a sample song called "Hip Harp" and Munbe
Munbe Vaa!!!

I was really shocked, it was like A. R. Rahman used these samples but
played them in adifferent range! it sounds like a complete lift! Even
the beat measure of this sample is a clear copy of the rythm used by
A. R. Rahman in "Munbe Munbe Vaa"!!!

I like you guys to hear these samples, but pls give me a good link
where i can upload these files.

Warning : DO NOT GET SHOCKED HEARING THESE SAMPLES, THESE SAMPLES ARE
MADE BEFORE A. R. RAHMAN'S "MUNBE MUNBE VAA"!!!

I can say, that everybody uses samples, wheter they are beats or
sounds. Every producers gets inspired by some samples. Even A. R.
Rahman, the biggist composer of these times, uses samples in his
music arts.

Do not reply stupidness untill you heared these samples, otherwise you
are fooling yourself and others. First listen to the sample and then

so, no wonder they havent included sivaji in the top 10, as they dont even have

Re: [arr] Munbe Munbe Vaa is a complete lift of a sample!

2007-07-29 Thread Sarathy S

  hi chup_shhh

to put this comment i dont need to listen to samples... i m here to say,
as u r a composer u know these things 4 u have to use these loops & samples &
even various interesting tunes. only pple like u & these djs & music
lovers who r extensively proned to more albums including international albums
could find these things otherwise mass music lovers who r mostly not
involved in these areas are more satisfied with what the MDs give to them.
such music lovers including me do not need any proof that this one is original
score that one is a lift... we really want to enjoy d resultant
product. one thing i can say that. why our indian MDs are not bothering
about their scores being lifted by others if they happen to hear them ??

for d simple reason they know they too have taken some other composer's tune
be a one line tune/bgm or small loop or even a full-song identical one...
if they r clean & confident about their every composition is a original score
totally independent & no way has any part of outsiders album or loop banks/song
banks, they will sue other composers for lifting... & would become a cover
story... they themselves know about their kind of work & become silent
audience... i would say that is not at all wrong if others say it is
wrong mean the sounds should entirely be indian without any mixture of western
which is something absurd to do it for they are doing business... & indian
film music is all d western way with indian sounds & does not mean they lack
originality Most of the MDs scores certainly have originality when taken
indian side of sounds & with this they just fuse d western genre & give us
hits. for this fusion they need to take support
from outside tracks which r not known to us as said before & sometimes i
used to criticise other MDs using rehman tunes & 4 that my friends would ask me
to meet rehman to speak about this & they say rehman will show about d sounds
he used so far from other western albums. our MDs whatever they do with
hits, we r able to enjoy. & let us not make a big fuss about lifting be
it rehman albums or other Mds albums. :-)

[arr] Re: Munbe Munbe Vaa is a complete lift of a sample!

2007-07-29 Thread VijayNarain
Krishna,

I suppose you understand samples and sound libraries are "sold" not
for the public's general listening, but for music composers and
producers to USE in their composition. And that the use of such
commercially available samples does not amount to plagiarism.

The very reason why they are sold is so that these people can buy
them. Its the same case with vst plugins and other music related
software. They are MADE so that they CAN be used. So there is
absolutely NO harm in using samples, be it by ARR or anyone else for
that reason. Plus, saves time!!

Note: If you still insist this is plagiarism, then all music in the
world is plagiarised, since invariably one of the twleve notes in
music has already been used in some other song :P !!!

Re: [arr]...vidyasagar,ilayaraja and rahman

2007-07-29 Thread murali ramakrishnan
hai,

once rahmannna said that rahmannna rehaina and vidhyasagar were learning
from dhanraj master whos is a popular music teacher in the industry as
ilayaraja also learned from him.

in tamil newspaper thinathanthi an article about ilayaraja and he mentioned
about how rahmanna joined his troup as keyboard player where ilayaraja has
told about him only during special occassions, and it was one. he says " when
i was working for balu mahendra's film "Moodupani" the nkeyboard player in
my troup was drunk and i asked him to leave and i was searching for good
player as it was difficult to find and one day one of my friend told that he
knows a boy who plays keyboard and i asked him to bring immediately.the boy
came and i gave him some notes to play, the boy felt little difficult and i
helped him to play the notes(like our parents teach to write alphabets). he
understand it well and the song came very well.then only i came to know he
is dilipkumar son of r.c.sekar(as he also worked as conductor under
ilayaraja) then dilip came to the industry as rahman.

i am sure rahman is so lucky that he has worked under music giants msv
i.raja. music maestro naushad came to his studio and blessed him which is a
gr8 thing.

in dictionary after the word humble it is rahmannna(it is not a praise,it is
true)

let we should also follow the superior qualities of anna in our life too.

reagrds,

murali
