[arr] (non arr) Music of Saawariya is mindblowing
It ranks up there in the league of elite soundtracks. Very soothing and melodious soundtrack with lots of classical influences and beautiful arrangements and instrumental ornaments. No heavy beats or real item numbers. The arrangements are not very thickly layered, but they are crafted extremely delicately and woven briliantly. I think ARR himself would like this soundtrack a lot. Only weakness to me is that a few songs are very similar to songs from SLBs previous movies. Lyrics are also quite simple by comparison. To me, however, it's mostly a very refreshing and quite stylish and very soothing/romantic soundtrack. If you're a lover of real quality music, this album is a must have.

Re: [arr] (non arr) Music of Saawariya is mindblowing
I really didn't know what to expect since this is Monty's first outing as a composer of a full song soundtrack. He's new at this! I am hearing a lot of disappointment with this soundtrack. I think people are disappointed simply because of extremely high expectations, not because the music is bad. And some just don't like soundtracks without heavy beats and item numbers. True that SLB's music style is quite predictable, but the hangover from Devdas to me is only on a couple of tracks. And quite a beautiful hangover it is! There are also some original and fresh sounding songs too. To me, an album to savor for a long, long time. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Gomtesh Upadhye [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Yes but too much of a devdas hangover.I expected better tracks...look what he did with black...amazing! Earlier bhansali said that after arrahman, monty is the complete composer. None can match with ARR. I think Bhansali is a musical encyclopedia. Hi people... I am not sure if ARR has agreed to work on telugu PULI for which shooting is starting within 2 months. PULI is going to be a political action thriller starring Pawan Kalyan. It is going to have some high tech action scenes. Technically, it is going to be a brilliant movie with some of the top most crew in the industry. Re: [arr] (non arr) Music of Saawariya is mindblowing
Why does talking about non ARR music bother you? When I appreciate good music, whether from ARR or others, I like to share my thoughts with other music lovers in this group. It's one thing if someone talked about non ARR stuff all the time, but I just posted my opinions about a soundtrack that I think is quality, others agree or not. This is exactly what bothers me about this group of late...lack of tolerance for other MD music and bashing other MDs needlessly. Re: [arr] (non arr) Music of Saawariya is mindblowing
ARR's music does not exist in vacuum. It is worthwhile to be aware of and compare it with other musical output. That having been said, Saawariya, IMHO, suffers from more than a small hangover of previous SLB movies and makes for a tedious listen beyond 2-3 songs. - Original Message From: Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 8:06:52 AM Subject: Re: [arr] (non arr) Music of Saawariya is mindblowing Why does talking about non ARR music bother you? Well and rightly said Gops. It is probably in our best of interests to keep the comparison going, while at the same time not indulge in unnecessary bashing of other music directors. Like I tell some people, all other music and music directors would be just fine ..just perfectly fine in a world where there did not exist Rahman's music to measure or compare against. But that being said, listening to other music probably just helps us appreciate and probably feel even more proud to be able to understand the man's magic. As for Saawariya I liked it initially but then the interest waned ...thats probably the simplest difference between a Rahman album and others ...in Rahman's case, the effect is diametrically opposite :-) ...it grows and it grows and it grows ... May I know who is the MD of Saawariyaan? Yeah I too agree that discussing about non ARR stuff should also be a part of our group as we are first fans of Good Music for which ARR is one of the best ambassadors and we are very much proud of him. He himself is inspired by many past and current MDs giving excellent tunes. I too want to share one such non ARR experience. One of the recent releases in Telugu - 'Happy Days'. Here is my take on it... http://ursmusically.blogspot.com/2007/09/saawariya-soundtrack.html Now eagerly waiting for an SLB + A.R.Rahman colloboration We have seen what happens when A.R.Rahman takes inspiration from a maestro like K.V.Mahadevan, it gave us masterpiece song like 'Narumugayae' in Iruvar and i wish to see such an of Naushad's music in Rahman's comopositions for 'Jodha-Akbhar'... that would be quite an interesting sound... --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: It ranks up there in the league of elite soundtracks.
