this detail from the CD cover), this songs beats are similar to Switch album 
track by Will smith. Will smith song has taken many shapes Switch (Will Smith) 
-> Sabse bade rupaiah (Bluffmaster) -> Money money endru (Thimuru) -> Ponmagal 
(ATM), I am talking only about the beats and rhythm hereJJ

  Now that the audio is released, Vijay's *Azhagiya Tamil Magan* will
positively make it for Diwali. The producer 'Swargachitra' Appachan has
preponed the release by a day from November 8 (Diwali Day) to November 7,
stumping all the doubting people in the trade who were saying that the film
will be postponed!

Appachan after consulting a leading Kerala astrologer has gone for November
7, a more auspicious day being *Pradosham*. ATM is likely to open worldwide
with around 410 prints.

The re-recording of ATM is going on at A.R Rahman's Panchathan Record-Inn in
Chennai, along with the composition of the stage adaptation of JRR Tolkien's
"Lord of the Rings" music. Rahman has promised to complete the entire
re-recording and mixing by November 1, so that it can be censored by
November 2 or 3.

Pyramid Saimira, the distributors of ATM is going to start a pre-release
campaign, once the music of the film becomes more popular.

Still as i feel pick of album...Nee Marilyn would have been made more

be ..it based on picturisation)

I dont know tamil but still enjoying the the songs...i can imagine
tamil(thamizh) guys groooving ...its 1:30 am ..and its my 5th repeat

How many of us were counting our time towards the release of this much
anticipated audio where the two titans of the film industry were coming
together after a very long time? Quite confident that many would be a part
of this huge list. The audio of the film, which has been released today
amidst huge celebrations has been keeping people off their regular routinue
work and it certainly merits all the attention that it has been getting so
far. Down to the Offical review...

1. *Ella Pughazum* - *AR Rahman*

How many times have we swooned to Rahman's voice? Starting from 'Humma
Humma', 'Sandosha Kannire', 'Columbus Columbus', 'New York Nagaram',
'Athiradee', and other songs. He just does not cease to amaze us with his
music but his singing has been highly under-rated (could be because he might
be trying to underplay it). But his singing equally matches his skills as a
music composer, and he has truly come out with a blazing number that should
set the stands on fire when it hits the screen. Sounding like an intro song
for the hero, the song has hard hitting lyrics written by the evergreen
Vaali and coupled with Rahman's instruments which have always been world
class, this song is the ROCKER that the fans have been craving for!

*Verdict*: Take some cotton for your ears, with you to the theatres if you
dont like heavy noise!

*Rating* : 10/10

2. *Ponmagal Vandhal* - *MD Aslam, Ember Rap*

For Vijay's fans, this will certainly be a new experience listening to a lot
of English words in a single song. Being the remix of a super hit old song
'Ponmagal Vandhal' from the movie Sorgam, this song doesnt disappoint and it
is very attractive on the ear with the rap and the beats. For the regular
Vijay fan, this song might take some time getting used to, but once you are
used to it, there is no stopping you raving about this song. A very
different approach for a Vijay song.

*Verdict*: Slow poison

*Rating* : 8.5/10

3. *Nee Marlyn Manroe* - *Benny Dayal, Ujjayinee*

Another song with heavy Western influence from AR Rahman. This song moves at
a faster pace and keeps at that pace consistently unlike Rahman's previous
Western type song 'Oru Koodai Sunlight' which was fast and slow in places.
This song should be a big hit with the discos, DJ's and the night clubs
where people hit the dance floors. The male singer stands out throughout the
song and the lyrics are sure to make the youngsters sing them out to their
never ending pleasure. Trust Rahman to come up with a Western song which
will be liked by anyone and everyone

*Verdict*: All about Style

*Rating* : 9.5/10

4. *Valayapatti Thavile* - *Madhumita, Naresh Iyer, Ujjayinee*

Time for some classy commercial songs. This is the song that is expected of
Vijay from his fans, and Rahman delivers in this song big time despite being
well known more for his soothing, romantic and melody numbers. The song,
sung by the latest sensation Naresh Iyer really packs a big punch. The song
starts off with the female singer Madhumita crooning and then Naresh Iyer
takes over. Rahman lifts this song exceedingly well with his instrumentation
and beats. A song that is sure to make Vijay fans dance to their heart's
content

*Verdict*: Indha Aatam Podhuma... Innum Konjam Venuma...

*Rating* : 10/10

5. *Kelamaal Kaiyile* - *Sriram Parthasarathy, Saindhavi*

This is Rahman's forte. The melody that makes you feel beautiful. These type
of songs also take some time to get used to, but in the long run these are
the songs that will remain with the listeners for a long long time.
Saindhavi (The Randaka girl) just shows what a promising talent she is to
the music industry. Sriram (Suttum Vizhi Sudare) is quite adept but is quite
clearly overshadowed by Saindhavi. The song at places reminds us of a hit
tune of the 80's but it is to Rahman's brilliance that he keeps that
similarity at a very minimum level.

*Verdict*: Romantic Best...

*Rating *: 8/10 (Spend time with it, and you will rate it 10/10)

6. *Maduraikki Pogadhadee* - *Benny, Archith, Dharshana*

Another folk type song to round up the album! Certainly lovers of commercial
music have heard of a lot of folk type songs, but this song is of very high
quality which only Rahman could possibly give. This is the type of song that
Vijay lives on, and with the picturisation this song has all the
possibilities to become a big hit with the fans especially the children. The
singer Benny Dayal is a good find (heard he had sung in Sivaji too!) while
the other singers give good suppport.

*Verdict*: Children's delight

*Rating* : 8/10

*Overall Verdict*: 100% super duper hit for Vijay and his fans. One of
Rahman's best commercial albums in his illustrous career. The songs should
reach an entirely different level if the picturisati

Let me share my thoughts in the lines that you have shared with our Group

1. ARR reaches so high in the song, that really makes you wonder whether he
is a composer or a singer at the first place

2. "Nee Nadaswaram Polle Vandha " bit is mesmersiing me;; Oh Great Song

3. Kellammal - the song is surely a slow poison. The mixing is superb

4. The remix is done extremely well, especially the part where we get to
listen the old part of the song for a second or so in the background ;
Neatly done; and presented well

i would like to know a concrete answer to the question "did rahman 
compose for ponmagal vandhal remix or was it krishna chetan"

my mind is wandering into wild thoughts. was rahman forced by the 
director or the team to remix the song and he disagreed and asked his 
assistant krishna chetan to do the remix? this thought of mine comes 
because the samples on our official site didnt have the ponmagal 
vandhal remix, but the airtel caller tunes had them. or was rahman 
forced of time that he handed over the ponmagal vandhal remix to his 
assistant?

who is krishna chetan? looks like a new talented musician in ARR troupe.
He hve done the additional programming in Ponmagal Vanthal remix which alrdy 
rocking right now after Ellam Pugazhulum..

I found out that he have been credited in ARR album since SOK..and Sivaji he is 
an assistant musician. Anyone pls clarify..thanks in advance

Yes, its another masterpiece from BOSS of music.

Still as i feel pick of album...Nee Marilyn would have been made more
groovy(just look the way song starts ..it totally rocks... but somehow
going towards the end..this gets slightly slower and somehow lost(may
be   ..it based on picturisation)

I dont know tamil but still enjoying the the songs...i can imagine
tamil(thamizh) guys groooving ...its 1:30 am ..and its my 5th repeat
of album :)

When I purchased Water from them it came in the digipak CD case in
which it was originally packaged.  However, my dad once ordered a
Carnatic CD from them, and that CD came in a plastic pouch, with the
front and back cover also included.  The traditional CD cases are
likely to break in transit, which is why they repackage them.

[arr] My review of ATM Songs

[Hari charan]

I feel its a complete album from Rahman after quite a long time. ATM will
make both Vijay and Rahman fans frenzy.
My pick of the lot is Nee Marlyn Monroe. What an orchestration ! Only Rahman
can do it. Once again he has proved that he is king of the grooves.  All
imitators beware! The lion is on the prowl!.
Next comes Ponmagal Vandhal. Brilliant remix. The credits for the remix has
been given to Krishna Chetan. Can any one confirm this? Was it done by
Rahman or Krishna Chetan?
Then comes Keelaamal. A different song altogether. Seems that he has been
given a lot of scope to experiment with. Thanks a lot to the director
Bharathan of ATM for giving us this song. Saindhavi's lilting voice stands
out in this number. Starts out in the raaga of the song Aagaya Vennilaave,
tharaimeedu vandathayno (I don't know the raagaa! Can anyone help me
pls.) Once Sriram Parthasarathy enters with Keelaamal., he takes the
song to a different plane.
After a long time I am taken back to back to the Kizhakku Cheemaiyelae times
with the Maduraike Pogathadee number. Rahman proves that he can do a kuthu
song in a typical classical fashion. Brilliant song.
But 2 songs stand out of the lot which I cannot rate. One is
Ellapugazhumand the other is
Vaalayapatti.
Ellapugazhum will be the intro song for Vijay. Vijay fans will instantly lap
it up. The best part is Munnal Munnal Munnal Munnal Vaada, Unnal Unnal
mudiyum Unnal mudiyum thozha! The song grows on you after every hearing. One
of the best intro songs composed by Rahman. Seems, Vaali has become a
teenager after his recent open heart surgery! Lyrics are full of zeal and
vigour in this song.
What can I say about Valayapatti Hear it to feel its brilliance.
One thing is for sure, ATM will rock for a long long time.
My only wish is that such a beautiful music album should have brilliant
choreography and cinematography! Off late all Vijay films have them and with
Vijay himself being a great dancer, lets all hope that like the music, ATM
will also rock visually.

Yeah Gomzy, its there @ Landmark... They got the stock in the morning
but was late to put it up on shelves for sales (late evening) i didnt
have the patience to wait until then .. so i decided to get it
elsewhere. they dont understand an ARR fans urgency to collect the CD. :)

Musicyogi is good in that aspect. try them out next time ...

 Here is my simple review of ATM with my little knowledge. Only 4 songs have
been filtered, I am still searching suitable words to describe the other two
songs. Hopefully i find it asap. Here is my review, sorry if mistaken.


Ellam Pughazhum Iraivanukke - I just love the strings used by ARR in this
song. Especially the guitars, my God its simply mindblowing. We should not
forget the great job done by the Chorus, matching ARR's voice. lyricist
Vaale, do i need to say anything about this "Young Man", great inspiring
lines. The loops that has been used throughout the song (it gone missing in
a few moment, due to the change of the tempo) never makes you feel bored.
The vocals, haha, i got a question for Rahman anna. Are you trying to be the
favaurite singer of all? haha... We have to admit that his voice have a
charm. just love it when you say "hey.. Tozha... munnal vaada... unnal
mudiyum... thala thalapathy, thalapathy nee tha... nee thaan... anbu
thalaiva vetri namakkae". Its was a surprising end with 1 extra line, really
unexpected.
Summary: Its an inspiring track with amazing vocals.


Valayapatthi - Awesome start bits for a "folk" song. instrumentation &
percussions are at the peak in this song. It gives a great homely feel to
the listeners. Less usage of western instrument, tavil is the hightlight i
guess. Not forgetting Na.Muthukumar for giving a nice mix of music related
stuffs, such as Raagas, intruments, swarams & etc. About singers, this is
another turning point in Naresh Iyer's music life. This is another new genre
to be added in Naresh's career. I cant find which is the vocals of Ujjayinee
& Madhumitha (guess that both of them have similarities). However, this is a
kick off for their bright future. I love the Maayakeriye lines, where Naresh
& Chorus sung it back to back.
Summary: A new dimension of folk.


Kaelaamal - kaetu rasitha paadal ondru endra talaipil... kaetkatha oru
padal... enna kodume ithu Rahman anna?...hehe... ok, lets go to the
review... the main highlight in this song is the compositions and the silky
vocalizing of both Sriram parthasarathy & Saindhavi. Both of them are
extraordinary young carnatic singers. Again the loops are mindblowing, will
this song rob the heart of many. Already ellam pugazhum gave a big
impression, i think kaelamal is trying to overcome it, better to be
mentioned as a slow poison. Thamarai, full song with no english words
represent the beauty of Tamizh. Personally I love the way the Word "Kokilam"
is sung.
Summary: Its a Slow poison, which is going to kill the music lovers.


Ponmagal vandhal-
It was an unexpected start bit, even the first line also gives a good
impression. Its always nice to hear the backspins of turntables in ARR
songs. Ember Rap, rocked the song especially his "Tamizh" lines. hehe... its
nice to hear this kinda tamizh pronunciation. The mix of the original TMS
voice and Aslam around 1:40 till 1:55 was great. This is the first remix
that i heard with no fast & hard beats added to original version. As usual,
ARR have his own way of creating music. Soon, all of us going to forget the
old version of Ponmagal Vanthal.
Summary: Its not a diamond girl, but a diamond remix.

Sriram is given only less role .Wish Arr had made more use of him in this 
song.there will b a sudden change in songs pace at a time suddenly the speed

I did buy a couple of Cds from them. They use soft padded sleeves for the CD 
and crop the liner notes to fit in them in their customized case which is a 
bummer. So the next time I instructed them to just take out all the liner notes 
and send them separately along with the Cds which they did. 

And did I mention it takes a good 2-3 weeks to get it and they send it 
registered only and you need to sign for it.

konjum bhodu neelambari" wow  what a tribute to differnt RAGAS availble in
carnatic Music .Excellent words then there is a major contribution is given
to different musical instruments.I would describe this song as"MUSICAL
TREAT".Hope dis song will capture many ppl's heart . ARR 's clasical touch
is highlighted here.Hoping to c a good picturisation too.Though many on
hearin the song said it resembles SOK opening song .I am sure now all will
know what ARR is capable of.

This melody just rules.The melifleous voice of SAINDHAVI is the main point
to be considered in this song.Hoping to c another song like "Azhagooril
poothavale".Sure dis will add to another melody hits of Vijay.This song
shows the importance ARR has given for Melody.The only thing tat makes me
feel is Sriram is given only less role .Wish Arr had made more use of him in
this song.there will b a sudden change in songs pace at a time suddenly the
speed increases it sounds so cool.Though tis song may resemble sum old song
ARR's Musical touch made it marvelous.


Song6: Maduraiku Pogadheydi

Wat can is say! a song tat will satisfy all vijay fans , a typical vijay

music for a movie starring an actor who has a big MASS fan following 
behind him. Its almost like ARR composing for a Rajnikanth movie,

You cant expect Roja, Bombay, KM, Alaipayuthey type album in ATM. It 
is going to be a commercial album. Its the best that ARR can give to 
a commercial album that makes it stand out from the rest.

today (October 22), through all music shops in India. The Indian 
audio rights holder Star Music expects 25000 CD's of the film to 
sell in the next three days. 
Initial reports suggest that Vaali written Ellapughazum sung by AR 
Rahman himself has been pumping the adrenalin of Vijay's fans and is 
said to be the introductory song of the star. The glamorous song on 
screen is going to be Marlyn Monroe , which has full of English 
words and is peppy. The remix song Ponmagal Vandhal is also a 
scream! 

On the whole, the reaction from Vijay fans is that the album rocks, 
and Rahman-Vijay combination will be a chartbuster, especially after 
the songs are telecast on the channels after the release of the 
film.

Glad you all are enjoying ATM.  Rahman is amazing how he can do a
Jodha Akbar one miinute and an ATM the next.  Only a music Swami like
him can pull that off successfully.  Have yet to hear the ATM songs.

trying to get fame thru this type of unwanted messages. When every arr album 
releasing u will come with such statement.

I'm on high 5after hearing the ATM songswhat you ask more for this 
diwali after hearing ATM song. 

Extremely energetic and youthful album..Its far above than my expectation.  I 
need to hear few times bfr write my review...

For now im stick into ellam pugalum ,pon magal , valayapathi and mariyln moore.

Overall the best album of the year...you might ask better than sivaji?the 
answer is YES!

Really the songs are so cool.But according to me i could see nowhere our BOSS 
touch in any one of the songs.Really i have been full of disappointed with the 
songs and the music composed by so called LEGENTD,ARR.
   
  I have been crazy about ARR and i dont know why this fade in Music.The songs 
failed to touch our heart deeply if compared with that of 
ROJA,BOMBAY,ALAYPAYUDE,KANNATHIL MUTHAMITTAL,and so many from our BOSS.

At last Vijay's Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (ATM) audio was released today (October 
22), through all music shops in India. The Indian audio rights holder Star 
Music expects 25000 CD's of the film to sell in the next three days.   Initial 
reports suggest that Vaali written Ellapughazum…. sung by AR Rahman himself 
has been pumping the adrenalin of Vijay's fans and is said to be the 
introductory song of the star. The glamorous song on screen is going to be 
Marlyn Monore…., which has full of English words and is peppy. The remix song 
Ponmagal Vandhal… is also a scream!   On the whole, the reaction from Vijay 
fans is that the album rocks, and Rahman-Vijay combination will be a 
chartbuster, especially after the songs are telecast on the channels after the 
release of the film.   According to a spokesperson of Star Music: "ATM audio 
released in to the market today morning has opened very well. All stores in 
Chennai are reporting brisk sales."

A master piece from ARR... like his voice a lot n the music is really 
rocking will be a good intro song n the best for Vijay ARR's voice is

A brilliant remix from ARR i feel this is better than Thottal Poo 
malarum the rap was really nice overall the beats by ARR is nice n cant 
be matched with any other song... a real treat to hear...

Mee marilyn manroe...

A good song with western blend... lyrics are the highlight of this song... the 
locations must be an added advantage too

Valayapathi. ...

Looked very ordinary when the promo was heard... but was really brilliant to 
hear the full song... i had goose bumps whn i heard this song. naresh iyer 
as usual has rocked.

Rating: 9.5/10

Kelamal

Well i was not happy with this song in the promo but now on repeated hearing i 
like it except the gals voice in the starting everything is fine i din 
like the voice whn she sings ketu rasitha padal... other than that i like the 
lyrics n the beats...

Rating: 8/10

Maduraiku... .

A song that is totally away from usual ARR style but a good music n will 
surely be one of the chart busters many will start luving this song after 
the video is released am sure theatre will rock for this song

rating: 9/10


Overall i wud rate the album 9.2/10 now i know why ARR has this much fan 
following... .. a really convincing album it has all chances to be the top 
album of the year...

As Vijay Iyer pointed out, there are so many ! 

Rahman has produced "emotional gems" mostly with his voice in a song. 
His voice really makes me restless. There is this special melancholy 
feeling, some pain / sad memories from the past, in his voice. He has 
mentioned his sad memories of his childhood and hardships from time 
to time ( more clearly in the interview given to Simi Garewal on Star
