Re: [arr] Posting from Office ATM is driving me crazy!!

2007-10-31 Thread Nagaraj

Dear Chelva,
Wat raj intended by saying 'Go and listen to Vel'
was absolute sarcasm. If guess u missed the sarcasm he meant.
Instead u went further into the topic by saying abt polladavan.
So it looked a bit out of place. So, thulsi said it is irrelevant.
Hope this clarifies.

Inbetween , I dont second ur opinion on Polladavan and GV Prakasah.
His numbers are not impressive at all. He is no where close to being
called next Rahman. First his target shd be to become decent stable MD
with a few movies. Time has to say what he can achieve..

Regards,
S.V.Nagaraj

2007-10-31 Thread Kalimuthu
Googling A R Rahman yields arrahman.com on the top, beating
wikipedia.com, which is great..

BTW, are we going to have the same Flash (welcome screen) forever? I
feel Flash diminishes the seriousness of the content we are trying to
depict. But we can retain flash for samples; and other contents
wherever needed.

Secondly, many will not like Second screen being poped up when you
click 'Enter Screen'.

Shall I request you to reconsider the site design? Prehaps with less
animation, more focus on the text part (Like Google / Wikipedia),
still, retaining flash for audio contents.

Just my opinion.

[arr] Azhagiya Tamizh Magan ready to rock Deepavali

2007-10-31 Thread Thulasi Ram
*
http://www.vijaynet.com/mzone/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1193882699&archive=&start_from=&ucat=4&;

*Pokkiri set the standards for the year 2007, and *Ilayathalapathy* Vijay is
now very keen that he finishes off 2007 on a high with the success of
Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, which is now getting ready to release for this
Deepavali. The film's post production work is going on in full pace and
contrary to rumors, AR Rahman is working on the re-recording of the film.
Rahman has been very busy in the last few days with the re-recording of the
film and has been working very hard to make sure that the film becomes a
grand success. Going by the response to the audio so far, Rahman has been
truly elevated to the status of ' *Isai Thalapathy*' among Vijay's fans.

The music of the film is on its way to becoming a huge blockbuster hit with
the masses. The CD's and cassettes of the film continue to disappear from
the shelves and reports have it that more sets of CD's and cassettes are
being ordered to meet with the growing demand for the music, which sees AR
Rahman combine with Vijay. This combination has tremendous expectation among
the fans as their working styles are said to be different, and it has been
their unexpected combination which has led to the audio selling big as soon
as it hit the market. The major opinion among Vijay fans right now has been
that Rahman has more than fulfilled all their expectations and they have
been loving all the 6 songs so far.

The trailor of the film is expected to be released soon in all major leading
television channels and the trailor is expected to raise the excitement
levels of the fans. The film's heroines, Shriya and Namitha are very happy
with the outcome of the film and expect the film to be a huge success. This
Deepavali will also see Vijay appear in many leading television channels for
interviews and sound bytes on Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. It is in the best
interests of those who cannot catch the first day first show (FDFS) to catch
Vijay on television this Deepavali.

The celebrations for the release of the film has already started among the
fans with the banner designs, poster designs and other interesting stuff.
Come Deepavali, one cannot escape being attacked by the sweet storm of
'Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. VFN wishes the team of Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, a
very grand success.

To be true Bheema is flop, but its getting good response for a particular song
after aired on local radio, still the cd sales are dull.
But ATM is HIT, ATM is current best selling audio at malaysia.
I dunno where Chelva get the sales stats, from my survey i get this fact.

Dont know about Malaysia, but ATM is already a runaway hit. The CD's

Chelva, I know you didnt like the music much. Dont spread wrong
stories around here. Even though we are not posting with confirmed

2007-10-31 Thread Tapey3
I agree, Pyramid's CDs were pretty good. I recently found Pyramid's
CD of Iruvar/Devaraj combo and it did not cut any songs out like the
Saregama version. It also had a nice booklet with the lyrics.

I don't mind a combo CD as long as all the songs from the album I want
to hear are included. There's maybe 40 minutes of music from ATM, so
there is room for a few more songs on the CD. I do wish the credits
would be printed. I think my Ayngaran CD of Kangalal Kaidhu Sei did
not have credits, but my Ayngaran CD of Sivaji did.

2007-10-31 Thread arr_raghu
Will be very good if ARR does at least one low profile, low budget
artistic movie every year. At least one such hypeless movie which has
a sincere scope for musical expression rather just to attract the
crowd or to meet somebody's expectation.
This will by all means elevates ARR's to new heights.
Not that he is not doing any now..he did bose, meenaxi etc
few to say.

Oh my god! Did some one say that?

Dont know about Malaysia, but ATM is already a runaway hit. The CD's
disappeared from the shelves within hours of the music hitting the
market.

Chelva, I know you didnt like the music much. Dont spread wrong
stories around here. Even though we are not posting with confirmed

 Question Kapur on Rahman
 By Behindwoods News Bureau.
  October 31, 2007
   Hi

I have been following Behindwoods' coverage on Elizabeth: the Golden Age
especially Shekhar Kapur's direction and the music by A.R.Rahman along with
Craig Armstrong. [image: Shekhar Kapur]

Last evening during the special screening of this movie at the Irish Film
Institute in Dublin I had the privilege of meeting director Shekhar Kapur.
The movie is scheduled to release in UK and Ireland on November 2nd. But
this was an exclusive premiere show followed by a Q&A session with the
director. I luckily managed to get a ticket at the last minute for this
event which was a complete sell-out.

The audiences were allowed to interact with him after the screening was
over. Most of the questions raised were regarding the script and the cast. I
was also one among the lucky ones to get an opportunity to question Mr.Kapur
.

I asked him to share the experiences he had with A.R.Rahman while working on
the music score for this movie. He introduced Rahman to the Irish audience
hailing him as the Mozart of Madras and told the audience that he picked
Rahman for his capability to produce melody easily just as Mozart did. There
was also a mention about Rahman's
musical roots and his successful collaboration with Scottish composer Craig
Armstrong in this movie. I am still wondering why I had to ask this question
as I am a die hard fan of Ilayaraaja and always argue with people who praise
ARR, a lot. But still the background music was world class.

Another person asked Mr.Kapur how difficult it was for him to migrate from
Bollywood to Hollywood and how both these film industries differ with each
other? The director did agree that there was too much politics involved in
his entry to Hollywood. But he quickly hinted that as a director when he
says sound, action it is the same story in Hollywood as well. He also made
an interesting remark that working in Bollywood is chaotic and it is more
organized in Hollywood. He went one step further by adding that working in
Hollywood is like shopping at a supermarket or a departmental store and
working in Bollywood is like shopping at a bazaar.

The event finished after an hour long interaction with the audience. I tried
my luck once again, this time asking the organizers of the event if they
would allow me to have a snap with Mr.Kapur. What a surprise. They agreed
and I got what I wanted.

Thanks and Regards

2007-10-31 Thread Kumaran
You're absolutely right prathap. The quality of tamil audio cd's in m'sia is
getting pathetic. The worse part is they release it in a long box like a dvd
instead of the regular audio cd cover which started with sivaji then bheema &
now atm. It's really frustrating and i have refused to buy it until they
re-release it
again like they did with sivaji. I missed the old pyramid cd's, they actually
put some effort in it's inlay card with nice pics of the movie, lyrics and
music details.
