2008-06-16 Thread Vithur
AR Rahman's up to new tricks, mainly some groovy numbers for Jaane Tu Ya
Jaane Na, with a jazz themed title track, finds Rachel Fernandes

The genius has done it again. AR Rahman has come out with yet another winner
with his music for the soon-to-be-launched Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the much
talked about launch film of Aamir's nephew Imraan Khan. In the album, Rahman
— no novice to singing his own songs — has sung the title track Tu Nole Main
Boloon, a peppy jazz tune. A brilliant score accompanied by soft drums,
saxophone and other instruments, the track can indeed be called the USP of
the album. The other tracks too have a very vibrant and youthful feel to
them and can be quite addictive then be it Kabhi Kahi Aditi belted by
newcomer Rashid Ali or Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai sung out by Runa. The track
Pappu Can't Dance has gone on to become a sort of a college rage. Then there
is Kahin To sung by Rashid Ali and accompanied by Vasundara Das. A soft,
romantic track with a very soothing feel to it, one can't but help wanting
to play it on repeat mode.
So is the musician making it a habit of singing his own songs? Well
actually, it's the directors choice, they like my voice and hence, he says
very matter of factly.

The Aamir Khan-AR Rahman relationship goes back a long way with Rahman
having done the music for many of Khan's films including Lagaan, Rang De
Basanti and Mangal Panday. A name synonymous with good music, Rahman has
catered to possibly every genre of Indian movies, be it period films like
Jodhaa Akbar, youth centric movies like Rang De Basanti or even cult hits
like Lagaan. Talking about how he has managed to sustain himself over such a
long period, Rahman says, It's a nightmare sometimes, and adds, It's all
about teamwork. The good part is I work with different teams and there are
different vibrations. Rahman admits that the feeling of 'Oh my God! Such a
big movie, how am I going to make the music for this one' is a recurring one
for him. I guess that's why I am so spiritual, he says with a grin. We
sit to work and something happens, whether good or bad. Thankfully, it's
mostly been good, he explains.
From Roja to Dil Se, Guru and now Jaane Tu ..., it's been a long journey
spanning over a decade for this maestro, who is considered a genius in the
Indian music industry. Shy and reclusive, not only has he wowed the Indian
audience with his work, Rahman has Hollywood directors raving about his
talent with his works like Bombay Dreams and Lord of the Rings.
His message for the growing breed of young Indian music directors is to
carve their own spots in the industry. Says Rahman, We should emulate the
60s style of working. There were many excellent music directors but they all
co-existed in the industry while each of them maintained their own unique
style of making music. It should be like that.

[arr] Yuvraj belongs to two people , Rahman and Subhash Ghai

2008-06-16 Thread $ Pavan Kumar $
But yes, music plays a very important part in my creativity. My early films
like Kalicharan started as a drama and then the music was added on. My latest
directorial venture Black White was also a drama with music in it.

AR Rahman who worked earlier with Subhash Ghai in Taal and a part of Kisna is
back in Yuvraj. Rahman and I have been in touch constantly. We jell really
well. Like Taal, Yuvraj is based on music.

I've told Rahman, Yuvraj belongs to two people, Rahman and Subhash Ghai, in
that order. All the main characters are musicians in Yuvraj.

  On Yuvraj :

Subhash says Yuvraj is about the arrogance of contemporary youth. You want
to know who's the Yuvraj? Salman, Anil Kapoor or Zayed Khan? If I reveal that
who would want to see my film?

Yuvraj is about the over-confidence of today's youth. Every one wants to be a
rock star, regardless of whether they have the morals to go with the
appellation.

[arr] Re: The Comeback Kid - Ramgopal Verma

2008-06-16 Thread Jahanzeb Farooq
Yes the title song Muqabala Muqabala really took the whole nation to
storm, I have seen this personally in Pakistan. Those were my school
days, the song always brings back lots of sweet memories from that
period. I remember having a cassette with up to 8-9 different version
of the song, including two originals and the rest lifted by Bollywood
composers. Such a huge phenomena was the song. Besides the Urvashi
song from the same movie, my next experience of ARR was (may not be in
right order) songs Chandarlikha and Pyar kabhi na tode ge from Chor
Chor, Milgaye milgaye from Love Birds, Roop suhana lagta hai (Anu
Malik's rearranged version) from Gentleman, Khili chandni from
Priyanka and Kehna hi kya and Ek ho gaye from Bombay. All these were
dubbed movies. Only then there came Rangeela.

--- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, V S Rawat [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

 Hmm, yeah, technically.

But as you rightly said that ARR was a well established name in
Bollywood Hindi music by that time. Roza did well in connoisseur
circles
and even though its Rukmini was found quite catchy, it was not the
fav
of street masses. But street masses did rally behind Humse Hai
Muqabla's
title song that got copied by Rajesh Roshan and Anu Malik that can be
taken an indication of its popularity and I had even seen a full
cassette titled muqabla muqabla which had various copied and remixed
versions of the song. Hindi Film bombed badly so it didn't help ARR and
the song. In fact, there was so much confusion about it that the masses
could never really identify which song is ARR's original, so ARR got
identified with all muqabla songs, even the copied once. Divine
justice. :-)

Thus, I think no special credit needs to be given to RGV for taking ARR
in Rangeela. RGV rather cashed on on ARR's popularity.

And, Rangeela also has Babu Lo Chal Gaya dubbed from Super Police
(guess
that was the name). So, original hindi music wud also not go fully in
 Rangeela.

Though I happily concede that Rangeela was a good movie.

[arr] Sakkarakatti from 11. July

2008-06-16 Thread hensmanr
The much awaited audio release of the movie `Sakkarakatti' with music
by one of India's finest talents A. R. Rahman is slated to take place
on the 11th of July. The Tamil film industry is abuzz with excitement
with the fact that extensive graphics are being created for the
movie's song sequences, which is literally running close to a year.

Reports also suggest that a crore of rupees have been spent for
picturizing just one song. The intensity and effectiveness of the
songs composed by A. R. Rahman is said to be the reason behind the
filmmakers' going through such an effort.

Another interesting piece of information is that A. R. Rahman has
hummed for a song titled 'Maruthanni'. It can be recalled that all
the songs that have the musician's humming have gone on to be huge
chart toppers like 'Chinna Chinna Aasai' in 'Roja' and 'Sanda Kozhi'
in 'Ayutha Ezhuthu'.

`Sakkarakatti' has Santhanu, son of writer, director, actor K.
Bhagyaraj as hero and yet another film personality's (Kalaipuli
Dhanu) son Kalaprabhu as the director.

Ishita and Vedhika play the leading ladies and the film is produced
by Kalaipuli Dhanu.

[arr] Top Ten albums of the week - JTYJN still tops

Top Ten albums of the week

By Joginder Tuteja, June 16, 2008 - 10:44 IST

Rank
Last week
Film
Plusses
Minuses

1
1
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa
For second straight week in succession, it's the magic of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane
Naa' that continues to hold fort. The title song has finally come on air and
yet again the combination of music and visuals is doing the trick! Newcomer
Imraan Khan would indeed be on cloud nine to have got such a great kick start
to his career. Now it's time for his act to talk for itself once the film
releases on 4th July.
None

2
2
Jannat
JTYJN may have overtaken it but 'Jannat' still continues to give tough
competition at the top. Each and every song in the film has worked and 'Jannat'
has turned into one of the biggest musical successes for Bhatts after 'Murder'.
Wish Kamran Ahmed's version of 'Lambi Judai' was a part of the film as well!

3
3
Race
There are no changes in the Top-3 of the charts as Pritam has his 'Race'
following 'Jannat' close behind. Even though the film has more or less ended
it's theatrical run while the DVD sales have been steady, the music hasn't lost
it's charm till date! Looks like 'Race' would rule longer than even it's makers
would have expected.
None

4
4
Khuda Kay Liye
'Khuda Kay Liye' deserves to break into Top-3! The music as well as the film's
popularity has only been showing a continuous escalation week after week. The
music video of 'Bandya' has finally arrived on the music channels and that
should further add on to the album's popularity!
None

5
8
Love Story 2050
The only album in the charts to have shown a really good jump, 'Love Story
2050' finds itself in Top-5 within a fortnight of it's release. Anu Malik gets
a successful album to his name after ages.
'Sach Kehna', the best dance number from the album, has been revealed a little
too early. It may have benefited 'Love Story 2050' if released around the time
of film's release.

6
5
Ada
It is Rahman's name which has resulted in 'Ada' to have done so well in spite
of neither the music company nor the makers making any efforts whatsoever to
promote the album.
One wonders for how long the album would be able to sustain without any
promotion. Once hardcore Rahman fans have given it a listen, how would the
album reach out to rest of the music lovers?

7
7
Haal E Dil
Staying on at the same position where it was in the week gone by, 'Haal E Dil'
doesn't budge from it's #7 spot. Though there isn't much escalation expected
this week as well, one looks forward to how the album progresses once the film
hits the screen this Friday. After all it is still doing the best business when
compared to other movies which are releasing on the same day i.e. 'De Taali'
and 'Khushboo'.
The film primarily stars newcomers which would mean that the music of 'Haal E
Dil' would take time to make it's presence felt in a big way

8
6
Tashan
The way 'Tashan' is going downward and 'De Taali' isn't making much progress,
it appears that Vishal-Shekhar would have to live with a zero presence in the
charts for a little while. There is good hope though from the soundtrack of
'Bachna Ae Haseenon' which is expected to arrive in a month from now!
YRF would have to re-look at their 'minimal promotion' of music strategy,
especially after the reception to music of 'Tashan'

9
10
Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic
YRF now has two of it's albums at the bottom of the charts. 'Lazy Lamhe' was
expected to do the trick but that too has merely helped the album to move up by
a solitary spot!
'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic' has just been a 'thoda sa' success. Period. One waits
to see if the film's release turns it's fortunes by any means.

10
9
Jodhaa Akbar
It is going to be farewell time for 'Jodhaa Akbar any moment. It has been a
good 5 month journey for this Rahman score and it would be interesting to see
if 'Jodhaa Akbar' manages to complete silver jubilee in the charts.

Re: [arr] Sangamam

2008-06-16 Thread Mahima Sengupta
I got to listen to the songs of Sangamam after seeing the thread here. I think
its a great musical movie. A movie which has lovely folk songs with  very racy
beats. Its a lovely blend of classical music and folk music. Songs like
'Margazhi  Thingal which starts off with the famous Thirupavai has been sung
beautifully to the raga of Sindhu Bhairavi. The transcendtal strumming of the
tanpoora transfers one to an ethereal world. the song that impressed me most
was 'Sowkiamma'  sung by nityashri and this song shows one the nuances of the
raga ' Maand'. Though I am not competent enough to comment on this, I think
Maand is a hindustani raag and finds its place in carnatic music too as does
the raga 'Desh'. ARR has shown his prowess in the field of carnatic classical
music and am sure this one song is enough to make his critics  eat a humble
pie. The other song Varahanadhi Karai I think is using the raga Yemen Kalyani
as its base though its a mix of
folk music.  But then again ARR has done it again bringing in  fine blend of
folk music and classical music.
All in all its a great album I think.

Cheers

Mahiya

Sangamam - This album by Rahman is one of my most fav.tamil
albumsInfact I would place it right at top as my all time favourite. Not
many people seem to be talking about this album. This is an absolutely a
delightful album by our Boss.       Rahman makes an excellent effort to produce
South Indian Classical music and what a effect. Each and every song is amazing.
Those who are well aware of raagas, would be able to describe the genius of
Rahman in this album.     MSV is amazing in aalalakanda , Shankar Mahadevan is
mind blowing in Varaaga Nadhi Karai Oram….Mazhi Thuli,Maargazhi Thingal,Mudhal
Murai…These songs will even melt a stone…     I am surprised that some of our
Rahmaniacs(those who listen to only selected tamil works) don’t know about this
album. Listen to this. This is a stunning effort from Rahman.     It was
released at time when Rahman was at peak of his career and people were
criticizing Rahman that he cant do
classical music. Then came Sangamam , as usual, Rahman let his work do all the
talking.     This album is an absolute masterpiece. A album I would cherish for
the rest of life. Just cant get over this album..Its amazing.     I
can just thank Rahman for filling our lives with happiness and joys with his

be able to sustain without any promotion. Once hardcore Rahman fans have
given it a listen, how would the album reach out to rest of the music
lovers? 7 7 Haal E Dil Staying on at the same position where it was in the
week gone by, 'Haal E Dil' doesn't budge from it's #7 spot. Though there
isn't much escalation expected this week as well, one looks forward to how
the album progresses once the film hits the screen this Friday. After all it
is still doing the best business when compared to other movies which are
releasing on the same day i.e. 'De Taali' and 'Khushboo'. The film
primarily stars newcomers which would mean that the music of 'Haal E Dil'
would take time to make it's presence felt in a big way 8 6 Tashan The way
'Tashan' is going downward and 'De Taali' isn't making much progress, it
appears that Vishal-Shekhar would have to live with a zero presence in the
charts for a little while. There is good hope though from the soundtrack of
'Bachna Ae Haseenon' which is expected to arrive in a month from now! YRF
would have to re-look at their 'minimal promotion' of music strategy,
especially after the reception to music of 'Tashan' 9 10 Thoda Pyaar Thoda
Magic YRF now has two of it's albums at the bottom of the charts. 'Lazy
Lamhe' was expected to do the trick but that too has merely helped the album
to move up by a solitary spot! 'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic' has just been a
'thoda sa' success. Period. One waits to see if the film's release turns
it's fortunes by any means. 10 9 Jodhaa Akbar It is going to be farewell
time for 'Jodhaa Akbar any moment. It has been a good 5 month journey for
this Rahman score and it would be interesting to see if 'Jodhaa Akbar'
manages to complete silver jubilee in the charts.

Rahman makes an excellent effort to produce South Indian Classical music
and what a effect. Each and every song is amazing. Those who are well aware
of raagas, would be able to describe the genius of Rahman in this album.

MSV is amazing in aalalakanda , Shankar Mahadevan is mind blowing in
 Varaaga Nadhi Karai Oram….Mazhi Thuli,Maargazhi Thingal,Mudhal Murai…These
songs will even melt a stone…

I am surprised that some of our Rahmaniacs(those who listen to only
selected tamil works) don't know about this album. Listen to this. This is a
 stunning effort from Rahman.

It was released at time when Rahman was at peak of his career and people
were criticizing Rahman that he cant do classical music. Then came Sangamam
, as usual, Rahman let his work do all the talking.

This album is an absolute masterpiece. A album I would cherish for the rest

I can just thank Rahman for filling our lives with happiness and joys with
his music. Thank You Sir !!!

[arr] A musical romantic comedy introducing Aamir Khan's nephew

2008-06-16 Thread Vithur
Say hello to your typical Bollywood love story filled with joys and sorrows,
happiness and heartbreak, laughter and songs ... and much more!

Jai Singh Rathore aka Rats (played by Imran Khan - Amir Khan's nephew) and
Aditi Mahant aka Meow (played by Genelia D'Souza - previously seen in
Masti and also to be seen soon in Mere Baap Pehle Aap) are two
characters who couldn't be more different. Jai is the most non-violent
Rajput you'll meet and is the only one who can calm down the catty, violent
and passionate Aditi.

In the package deal comes Rotlu - who secretly yearns for Aditi, Bombs -
who's heart only calls out for Jai, Jiggy - who, scarily enough, applies
golden mascara to his hair and Shahleen - well, she's the only normal one.

But it's a known fact that opposites attract and while Aditi and Jai can't
stand each other, parents, friends, and everybody else can see that together
they make the perfect couple (in one of those impossible to understand ways)
and let's just hope its not too long before they figure it out, too.

Mix all of that with some strange dreams of a desert warrior, two Rajput
'cowboys', a momentous night in jail and a climatic airport ride, and you
have yourself a musical romantic comedy!

With the genius of A.R. Rahman behind the catchy soundtrack, who already has
the tune of 'Hey Aditi' stuck in every youngster's head, and the script
written and directed by Abbas Tyrewala, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na seems
promising.

Aamir Khan, who's producing this film, has thrown his weight behind it and
is going all out to promote his nephew's debut venture. Whether or not it
lives up to it pre-release hype, we'll find out for sure when it releases on
July 4.

yes vithur, our boss teaches us many things in our life through his interviews.
There is a saying in tamil called Atchaya pathiram, which means the content
never reduces at all from the vessel how many ever times u try to empty the
same. Similarly Rahman also has such a quality, when u try to dig more and more
from him you will get more and more in life. There is lot more to learn from
him.
Vithur, as you said we should stop fighting. First of all this is not a group,
its full of various individuals. We should all have a common thinking and we
should have a common goal, we should try to help each other in that process.
Only then we can called as a group, this is what our boss wants too. lets try
to understand the basic idea(if not the core) of what rahman has offered to
this world both in terms of music and life and follow the same.

Dear Rahmaniacs,

I am a MANIAC of ARR 's BGMs... Of course, his songs too... But the way he
does the BGMs, literally drive me crazy. whenever I watch a movie I always
pay attention to the BGMs more than the songs. The way ARR does BGMs is
really really amazing. He uses the right tune at the right place. and comes
out with totally new tunes, new sounds, new hummings, for situations, which
even other MDs cannot think of..

1. Does ARR watch the entire movie for giving his BGMs ??
2. How does he patiently watch the entire movie . esp films like NEW, Ah
AAH...( LOL)
3. Does he watch the movie soundless, and frames his mind for composing
BGMs.. and then summons singers, Guitarists, and other instrument players

If anyone here can visualise how he does BGMs, pls let me know

I would love ARR to release BGMs for all his movies. Thanks...

Does anyone here have Love Birds , Mr. Romeo, Karuthamma, Kizhakku
Cheemayile, BGMs ??

ok, here is the REAL deal. see below.. its jus because one man called
Rajnikanth.. no one else.. hope everyone get this point.

*So, no one is trouncing ARR and ARR can never be trounced (atleast for
those who believe in it).*

The name Rajinikanth sells.

The audio of *Kuselan*, a film that he is doing a special appearance has
gone for a record price in Tamil music business.

The audio after a bidding war has been snapped up by Big Music, an Anil
Dhirubhai Ambani group company for a new record high of Rs 2.25 crore.

The film has music by the comparatively new music director G.V Prakash.

*According to an music industry spokesperson- G.V Prakash's Kuselan has
got an higher price for audio rights much more than what his uncle A.R
Rahman's Sivaji fetched. It is only because of the magic of Rajinikanth
nothing else.*

*Kuselan* has five songs, with a Daler Mehendi number being the highlight.
The others who have rendered their voice for the album include Shankar
Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Shriya Ghosal and Hariharan.

The audio will be launched on June 30 Friday in Chennai by Big Music.

Chalo song...but I hope you also listened to what he said next.. He said, The
life that rahman brought in to the song was something terrific.

That performance was one good example of how one should not perform a song on
stage. It was absolutly a flat performance of chale chalo song.

Yes, one might argue that he shouldnt have said it, But I think VS love that
song so much that they were upset with such a bad performance.

[arr] One Song; Many Emotions

2008-06-16 Thread Sajaad Farook
One of the greatest tributes to A.R.Rahman is his ability to match
the emotions of the charactor of the songs. It is one true gift non
of the other indian composers have failed to master. Of recent,
Rahman's albums have the visual effect - songs growing in us after we
see the images. Take Kannathil Muthamittaal for example, Nenjil jil
jil didn't sound great (at least to me) on a few hearing but upon
seeing the movie it grew to become the best of the album for the
sheer emotion it portrayed of a father trying to calm a troubled
daughter. But Rahman does not stop here, he takes his brilliance to a
further level. He has created songs which show multiple albums, from
happiness to sadness! Here are a few songs which have multiple
emotions, and guys pls add whatever you think is appropriate.

1) I'm sorry (one 2 Ka 4)- starts slowly and then SRK tries his very
best to imress the kids and its funny and shows a happy mood.
suddenly the tempo changes (btw, i dont understand hindi) and SRK is
all in sorry mood and the song itself becomes slow and it gives
goosebumps to me everytime i hear that part. Then the tempo changes
again as his sidekick and Juli show emotions that he shouldnt worry
and in line the kids pardon him with it's ok! - imagine a song
starting with i'm sorry and ending with it's ok!. Out of this
world stuff.

2) Mitwa (Lagaan) - What can we say about the last part where Gawri's
father comes out to join the team. (If you didnt get Goosebumps
listening to that part then truly you are not a music fan). Song was
all about getting people in the right mood to fight and everyone was
looking away, and then Sukwinder Sing gives such a grand emotional
introduction. Out of this world again!

Guys pls add more songs with show many emotions in one song!!

That performance was one good example of how one should not perform a song

I am disappointed with the promos as well. I mean you can be arty but these
promos are simply boring. You can't just have the lead cast lip sync the songs
in the same position clsoing up on their faces. The extended promo of the title
track is just not appealing. Hawa Sun Hawa will remain a fav Rahman melody for
me irrespective of how ridiculously boring the visuals are.

its a great musical movie. A movie which has lovely folk songs with  very racy

All in all its a great album I think.

Sangamam, IMHO, is a masterpiece. This album sounds always fresh, even
on repeat mode ;-). Varaga Nadhi is Mahadevan at his best, I read that
he worked with rahman overnight. Rahman capitalised on mahadevan's
voice and no doubt he shows his mastery in composing carnatic classics.

Top Ten albums of the week [image: Click here to add this article to My

 By Joginder Tuteja, June 16, 2008 - 10:44 IST

Rank Last week Film Plusses Minuses 1 1 Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa For second
straight week in succession, it's the magic of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa' that
continues to hold fort. The title song has finally come on air and yet again
the combination of music and visuals is doing the trick! Newcomer Imraan
Khan would indeed be on cloud nine to have got such a great kick start to
his career. Now it's time for his act to talk for itself once the film
releases on 4th July. None 2 2 Jannat JTYJN may have overtaken it but
'Jannat' still continues to give tough competition at the top. Each and
every song in the film has worked and 'Jannat' has turned into one of the
biggest musical successes for Bhatts after 'Murder'. Wish Kamran Ahmed's
version of 'Lambi Judai' was a part of the film as well! 3 3 Race There
are no changes in the Top-3 of the charts as Pritam has his 'Race' following
'Jannat' close behind. Even though the film has more or less ended it's
theatrical run while the DVD sales have been steady, the music hasn't lost
it's charm till date! Looks like 'Race' would rule longer than even it's
makers would have expected. None 4 4 Khuda Kay Liye 'Khuda Kay Liye'
deserves to break into Top-3! The music as well as the film's popularity has
only been showing a continuous escalation week after week. The music video
of 'Bandya' has finally arrived on the music channels and that should
further add on to the album's popularity! None 5 8 Love Story 2050 The
only album in the charts to have shown a really good jump, 'Love Story 2050'
finds itself in Top-5 within a fortnight of it's release. Anu Malik gets a
successful album to his name after ages. 'Sach Kehna', the best dance
number from the album, has been revealed a little too early. It may have
benefited 'Love Story 2050' if released around the time of film's release.
6 5 Ada It is Rahman's name which has resulted in 'Ada' to have done so
well in spite of neither the music company nor the makers making any efforts
whatsoever to promote the album. One wonders for how long the album would
be able to sustain without any promotion.
None

Sometimes I feel like ARR's the 'biggest day dreamer' ! :P

Cuz his Background Scores touch our lives , each and every moment...

Love Romance - Alaipayuthey
Sadness (love failure)- Sillunu Oru Kaadhal
Nostalgia - Swades
Patriotism - Roja , LOBS , Lagaan , etc etc
Hang out - RDB
Party - Yuva ( Vivek Oberoi's BGM )
Revolution - Yuva ( Ajay's ) , RDB
Family (mother's love) - Kannathil Muthamittaal
Terrorism - Dil se.. etc etc

and the list goes on.

A few examples which came on my mind... there are loads and loads of
mesmerizing scores like these.. we all know... :-)

I am a MANIAC of ARR 's BGMs... Of course, his songs too... But the way he
does the BGMs, literally drive me crazy. whenever I watch a movie I always pay
attention to the BGMs more than the songs. The way ARR does BGMs is really
really amazing. He uses the right tune at the right place. and comes out with
totally new tunes, new sounds, new hummings, for situations, which even other
MDs cannot think of..

 1. Does ARR watch the entire movie for giving his BGMs ??
 2. How does he patiently watch the entire movie . esp films like NEW, Ah
AAH...( LOL)
 3. Does he watch the movie soundless, and frames his mind for composing BGMs..
and then summons singers, Guitarists, and other instrument players

If anyone here can visualise how he does BGMs, pls let me know

I would love ARR to release BGMs for all his movies. Thanks...

Does anyone here have Love Birds , Mr. Romeo, Karuthamma, Kizhakku Cheemayile,
BGMs ??

Let's be United for ARR

I feel that I'm representing my father's aspirations, his unfulfilled life in
all that I attempt. I'm inspired by him. I did not have him for a long time in
my life. But I remember the way he used to treat his musicians, the way he
respected them and of course I remember his music.

[arr] A thought ...(or thoughts)

2008-06-16 Thread Anil Nair
Just some thoughts that struck me today listening to some ARR music today.

I am sure many in this group would share the same as to how tough it is not
just to meet expectations but to beat them hollow - in today's informed
age and this man has been doing so for well over 16 years now.

In the good ol days - there weren't too many ways you would hear about the
making of the music, the movie or inside scoops until the movie actually
released or the songs started playing on Radio and TV. Cut to today's
world where by the time a music album releases -and specially an ARR album -
there are just so many expectations, just so many speculations, just so many
rumors, just so many inside scoops and so many crew members speaking about
it. Add to that we have song snippets getting leaked and sometimes even MD's
releasing snippets (for remixes et al) - there is very little left for
imagination (a bit of an exaggeration ..but I guess u get the point). And
ARR continues to beat them all ..surprise them all and leaves everyone
amazed each and every time.

ARR's competition is only himself ...with each album ..with each song ..he
has to outgrow himself ..he has to beat himself and he has to gift us
listeners with gems that we will cherish throught our life.

I don't where I am going with this but there is so much to this man's music
...the charisma ...and the spirit that he embodies that my thoughts do
wander like this many a time. Instead of boring the ones near me ...this
time I guess I chose this forum :-)
Sorry about that :-)
