Which singer ( female / male ) has sung the maximum number of songs under ARR's
Music direction ?

Is it Chinmayi / ARR himself by any chance ?

their poverty alleviation program.
ARR became the BRAND AMBASSADOR of the program thereafter.

with a fitting genre-tribute to Harry Connick Jr's 'Let's Call The Whole
Thing Off' (from the 'When Harry Met Sally' OST) with 'Tu Bole'… The album
is a must-buy.*

*Full of magical moments *

*LOVE IS IN THE AIR: Jaane Tu. Ya Jaane Na *

*Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na *

*Genre:* Romance

*Director: *Abbas Tyrewala

*Cast:* Imran Khan, Genelia D'Souza, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah

*Storyline: *Best friends Jai and Aditi don't know they love each other.
Until…

*Bottomline*: Fall in love with the magic of movies

Every generation cherishes a coming-of-age film they grew up watching. Two
decades ago, Aamir entered the Bollywood Khan-daan with one of the most
definitive films of that generation. 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak," Jo Jeeta Wohi
Sikander,̵ 7; 'Dil Chahta Hai' and now…The new generation has 'Jaane Tu… Ya
Jaane Na,' a film that will live on for years as another Khan arrives in
style.

Despite its inspired origins (a structure borrowed from 'Forget Paris,'
'Celeste and Estrela' and also employed earlier in 'Chalte Chalte') and
being derived from the Hollywood school of romantic comedies, 'Jaane Tu..'.
is one of those movies that instantly connects to the youth simply because
of the world it is set in and the characters who inhabit it.
Full of ordinary people

This world where 'Pappu can't dance' is about a bunch of friends who are as
ordinary as they get in the real world, leading perfectly normal lives with
friends who sing out of tune. A world where a boy and girl can be the best
of friends and yet had somehow never really considered seeing each other. A
world where it's no big deal for people dealing with unrequited love to
settle for love where it is available. A world where people are never sure
of their feelings. And where compatibility is the necessity for romance.

What's interesting about Abbas Tyrewala's storytelling is how he makes a
simple slice-of-life story turn larger than life by exploiting the age-old
unwritten law of machismo buried in our films.

Tyrewala also has extremely believable support characters, whether it is the
circle of friends or family… Ratna Pathak Shah has to be one of the best
onscreen moms in recent times. The ensemble is an example of flawless
casting. What makes us like Imran Khan instantly is that right from the
start, he's just the quiet boy next door who never tries to impress (no
fancy bikes or complicated dance steps other star-sons use to launch
themselves), always doing exactly what the character demands him to do.

Genelia's Aditi is easily excitable and hence, those who hate her may still
hate her and those who love her would love her more.

Right from the jazzy opening credits, A.R. Rahman seems to have a blast with
a fitting genre-tribute to Harry Connick Jr's 'Let's Call The Whole Thing
Off' (from the 'When Harry Met Sally' OST) with 'Tu Bole'… The album is a
must-buy.

Yes, it may not be a wholly original film, but it has those magical moments
that make you forget everything else.

[arr] [Semi-ARR] - Youngistan on a song

2008-07-20 Thread Anil Nair
*Youngistan on a song *

SANGEETHA DEVI DUNDOO

The voices are new and so is the outlook of composers, creating lilting
Bollywood treats.

*Noteworthy Naresh Iyer *

Here's a test: Listen to 20 recent hits on your iPod and try to guess the
singer. We bet you wouldn't be able to get all the answers right. Young,
fresh voices have taken over, signalling the death of monopoly. You'd know
Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi
Chauhan. How about Rashid Ali, Runa Rizvi or Benny Dayal? Despite not
knowing Rashid Ali too well, you'd be humming *Kabhi Kabhi Aditi*… Get the
picture?

"Films are becoming more urban, cool and younger, underlining the importance
of fresh voices. A new voice brings in freshness to the film and the songs.
If you have a new actor, getting a young singer to do the playback would be
a good combo," says composer Salim of the Salim-Sulaimaan duo. Salim himself
has introduced Shruti Pathak for Madhur Bhandarkar's *Fashion*. "There's a
constant search in the industry to bring in new, talented voices. A decade
ago, composers were not open to experimenting with different voices with the
exception of A.R. Rahman. Composers today realise that people want variety,"
he says.
Trendsetter

*Shreya Ghosal *

Rahman, as music lovers are aware, has been and is a pro at identifying
young singers. He arrived with *Chotti Si Aasha *(*Roja*), which was backed
by music that was new to the era and the singer, Minmini. In the same film,
he rediscovered Hariharan, once rejected by a renowned Tamil composer duo
and Hariharan has been delivering hits in regional films till date.

A few of Rahman's finds have been accepted by critics as well. Naresh Iyer,
who made *Masti ki Paathshala *and *Roobaroo *anthems in 2006, won the
National Award for best playback singer for *Roobaroo (Rang De
Basanti). *Likewise,
singer Javed Ali, who started singing in mainstream films in 2000, was at
his best crooning *Jashn-e-Bahara *(*Jodhaa Akbar*).

Shankar Mahadevan credits Rahman for initiating the change and adds,
"Because people are listening to different tunes today, there's scope for
experimentation. Singers like Sonu Nigam and Shaan are malleable to the
requirements of the song. But you need different voices for different
genres; when the Sufi wave set in, you needed singers like Kailash Kher,
Shafaqat Ali and Rashed Ali Khan."

The influx of the new has raised the bar for existing singers. Sonu Nigam,
Shaan, Kay Kay, Kunal Ganjawala and Shreya Ghosal continue to be in demand.

*A still from 'Jaane Tu...'. *

Shaan, though, feels that no singer has re-written the rules for singing in
the last four years. "When Hrithik Roshan entered films, he set new
standards for acting. No one has done something similar in film music," he
says. "It's good that there's variety; heroes are getting younger and so are
the singers. In the process, a few undeserving, amateurish singers are also
getting a chance. As an anchor of television shows, I think if it's a waste
of time to insist that youngsters should get their *sur* and *taal* right.
Because, you can give a hit despite not being pitch perfect," he adds.

Salim disagrees and sums up, "If a singer doesn't get his rhythm right, he
or she will be replaced after a couple of songs. You cannot succeed diluting
the basics," he says.

*Hit parade *

*Kabhi Kabhi Aditi *— Rashid Ali

*Pappu Can't Dance* — Benny Dayal, Naresh Iyer, Satish Chakravarthy, Aslam,
Blaaze, Tanvi, Bhargavi

*Nazrein Milana *— Benny Dayal, Satish Chakravarthy, Sayonara, Darshana,
Svetha, Bhargavi, Anupama

*Jashn-e-Bahara *— Javed Ali

*Pehli Nazar Mein *— Atif Aslam

[arr] [Semi-ARR] - Scaling greater heights - Chinmayi

2008-07-20 Thread Anil Nair
**
**
*Scaling greater heights *

Chinmayi scripts her own success story through sheer hard work, says S.
AISHWARYA

  Photo: R. Ashok

*flamboyant Be it Tamil or Hindi, she is versatile to the core *

Classical music — from Carnatic to Hindustani — has a long and proud
history of producing celebrated film singers. Chinmayi, who dabbles in both,
carries on the tradition.

But the knowledge has not restricted her repertoire of songs. Sticking to
single musical style, according to her, is like singing the same song time
and again.

If her voice sounded as caressing as breeze in 'Sahana' from 'Sivaji,' it
impressed Hindustani buffs through its soothing flutter in 'Tere Bina' from
'Guru.'
Unique voice

"I never wanted my voice labelled with a particular genre. A change in genre
needs learning the nuances of music a bit more and that's what I look
forward to," she says.

Her debut 'Deivam thantha poove' from 'Kannathil Muthamittal' put her under
instant spotlight by fetching a national award. Through her songs
'Santhipoma' from 'Enakku 20 Unakku 18,' 'Enaduriye' from Bheema and
'Sahana' from 'Sivaji,' she laid a career the way she dreamt.

Originally, Chinmayi was set out to be a Hindustani singer. AIR's hunt for
prospective Hindustani singer saw her inside the studios straightaway.
Belting out Kashmiri songs in Kashmir, she spellbound the audience with her
immaculate pronunciation and diction. "In fact people refused to believe I
was a South Indian. They thought I had some Kashmiri connection," she
laughs.

The ability to pick up accents made her entry into Bollywood film industry
effortless. "I have sort of a sponge quality in me. When I speak to someone,
I can imitate their diction in a jiffy. Sometimes it's annoying but that has
helped me pick up accents with perfection."
Gifted singer

More than just a singer in film music, Chinmayi is gifted with learning
languages, anchors musical shows in television and runs a outsourcing
company called 'Blue Elephant' with a full control over her career. The
company does translation services from English to German. "I've been
freelancing German translations for while. Once I was given 200 pages of a
document with a tight deadline. When I completed, I felt this was what my
career should be. I like being stressed."

With exceedingly good language quotient, she's picked up seven languages
including Spanish, German, Dutch, French and Norwegian.

Enthusiasm runs high for Chinmayi at the mention of A. R. Rahman. "He
celebrates all manner of music making. He has experimented with my voice
through good many genres." Among Rahman's few favourites who are lucky
enough to get repeated chances, Chinmayi is the one. But the songs, as one
has heard, are never similar. "Tere Bina is the best ever so far. For a
casual listener, it sounds across the border but yet, it's so Indianish."

Working with Rahman has been emotionally overwhelming experience to her. "We
worked for long hours during 'Sahana.' Every time I close my eyes to listen
to him playing the keyboard, my face is wet with tears. Any one who respects
music will be swept by such soulful ambience."

For all her fondness for A.R. Rahman, Chinmayi also seems to adore other
music directors she has worked with. "After 'Kannathil Muthamittal,' people
began labelling me as a singer suited for sombre songs. Music Director Iman
helped me tear away the tag through 'Kadhal Kirukka' in 'Visil.' Some of my
best songs came only later."

Acclamations did not immediately fall her way for her note-perfect recording
of Sivaji's 'Sahana.' Credit, initially, was given to voice-enhancement
software. "I felt so hurt. But later I learnt to laugh it out. Help from
technology is only to make recording easy and not for voice corrections."
Difficult rendering?

Of all songs, is there any particular song that she found very difficult?
"Not yet. Songs cannot be an effort. It must come naturally. If I find
myself straining long and hard to sing a song, it wouldn't sound easy on
your ears."
Ever so quietly, Chinmayi breaks all musical myths associated with voice.
"Singing is hard work. There are hardly any gifted singers. Classical music
might not be mandatory to start a career but learning it always helps. It's
a tool to help you. If you are unwilling, you are just too lazy to learn."

***Abbas Tyrewala is in Delhi, basking in the success of Jaane Tu.. Ya
Jaane Naa*

It was the thought of a hero on a horse that got Abbas Tyrewala to make his
directorial debut Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na. "I wanted my lead actor on a
horse, it's been ages since there's been one in a Bollywood film. This I
knew was going to be the penultimate scene. So I began to trace the story
backwards from that point," says Tyrewala. The movie that has used every
single filmi cliché has become the year's peppy hit and the soundtrack by A
R Rahman is ruling the airwaves. Accuse him of serving you old wine in a new
bottle and Tyrewala laughs merrily. "That was the idea in the first place.
To use every cliché there is and give it fresh treatment. What's better, it
seems to have worked," smiles Tyrewala who candidly acknowledges that the
success of the film is more than he ever imagined.

At Osians Cine Fan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema, Tyrewala has provided
many an entertaining afternoon as he has held discussions on scriptwriting
and cinema. As one of Bollywood's young and innovative scriptwriters,
Tyrewala is now positively certain that he doesn't want to write another
film for anybody else. "It took me so long to make my first film and the
transition has been important. The biggest transition was in terms of
people. Scriptwriting is a lonely process, there's nobody to deal with but
yourself and the characters and situations that you create," says Tyrewala
who believes that making the film helped him trust people again. "It's team
work and as a director your vision of the film has to guide the entire cast
and crew. It's an attractive and powerful position to be in, it's tough, but
the money's good," chuckles Tyrewala.

But scriptwriting still remains his first love and Tyrewala is now happy to
see the advent of more and more writer-directors in the industry. As a
writer, he says, the biggest heartbreak is when the best scripts or stories
don't get made. "The industry is not organised enough for a script to make a
comeback, after a producer backs out from the project. Writer-directors will
have more control over their projects now," he says.

As for sprinkling more magic from the 70s and 80s in his future films,
Tyrewala admits that he'd love to remake films from the era. "I'd love to
remake Waqt and Andaaz. Give it a twist, a whole new interpretation. There's
nothing wrong with that because some of our best movies came from the 70s,"
says Tyrewala who's currently working on scripting his next film, what he
calls a naughty adult comedy. "I will be raising the age bracket of my
audience to 28 and 30-year-olds. I want to tell people that when the heart
breaks, it breaks seriously," says Tyrewala. Well, we'll take his word for
it.

[arr] Re: Sakarakatti: awesome songs, but lyrics a big let down

2008-07-20 Thread Thineshan
i thought some lines in munbe vaa and marudhaani were fantastic.
in munbe vaa:
munbe (a very unusual word, but made all the difference to the song)
nilavidam vadakai vaangi...
poo vaithai (excellent word play here)

in marudhaani:
marudhaani vizhiyil yaen? (this line is fantastic)
saranams r class

lets not forget mayilirage. i believe the lyrics amazingly suited the
tune and even uplifted it.

as a whole, vaali is an amazing lyricist and he reserves his best for
ARR. i think ARR should keep requesting vaali for better and better
lyrics during their sits together (vaali adores ARR and so no matter
how much arr requests from vaali, he will comply, arr is just too nice)

lets be happy that arr-vaali combo has given some of the best melodies
in recent times starting with thotaal poo malarum (hehe) to marudhaani.

[arr] Re: Sakarakatti: awesome songs, but lyrics a big let down

2008-07-20 Thread badrie
Since there is a lot going on about Vaali, would like to mention
something more on the areas where he let ARR.

Munbe Va : I cant forgive him for writing those fillers "Rango..
Rangoli.. kolangal nee pottai.." it was a joke.. if you have a
software that could edit the words and listen to the song, munbe va
will be in the top league of his all time best.

coming back to Marudhani, probably deepali is a character in the
movie.. but wasnt there a better way of incorporating that name. A
lyricist of Vaali's caliber can do much beter than that.

Vaali is a very senior writer and its hard for composers to ask him
to rewrite something. I happened to listen to IR's recording for a
Fazil' movie. The song if am right is "Kaatril varum geethame... "
Vaali is a genius and comes up with impromptu lyrics for the song,
but the first version is awful.. Even IR requests vaali in a very
subdued tone and tells him "anna, can you change this to
something" Am sure ARR has the same challenges too...

Vaali is still the best but that doesnt make him right all the time.
More than once his lines have been more of a meaningful dialogue than
an elegant song. Lets call a spade a spade. I love the songs of
S'katti, but it will be a long time before I come to terms with the
lyrics. As few others mentioned, we expect high standards from
lyricists when they write songs for ARR. Even if its Vaali...

Surprising that IMDB has no listing for ADA as a forthcoming movie Release or
under production.. .

The year wise listing of album names is already there at the top table,
beautifully organized Language wise (one column for each language). That
would serve as a good quick reference.

I have not included a year, because it is already there in the above
mentioned top table, and there was no point people getting confused if
year mentioned in the two table got a clash somehow.

I think we fans are mostly aware of the year-range when ARR's which
album was released. But Wiki is universal and even persons not having
such knowledge would come to wiki to find about ARR. Then, it is likely
that they know the full or partial or incorrect name of some album and
they would easily find it in an alphabetical list of album name.

I spend hours in doing it and all you have to say that it is gibberish.
Great comment.

Now go and correct that gibberish and make it sensible, and you will
know the efforts required.

I really don't know why I at all bother taking feedback of you guys who
don't know how to have a polite conversation.

Wiki editing is easy. Anybody can do it. Even without creating an
account, one can do it. That simplicity is making it grow.

imdb editing is difficult. I think one needs a paid account to be able
to edit it. I once tried to update a pic of some singer, but they wanted
me to have a paid account and I couldn't do it.

341 songs updated in wiki (Re: [arr] song details of 256 Hindi songs of ARR updated in Wiki page)

2008-07-20 Thread V S Rawat
You are welcome, Vithur.

In a Sunday well spent to further the cause of our humble man, I have
updated 341 songs that includes entire Hindi releases and a few English
releases. Have included Duration also now, but those are present only in
songs for last 3-4 years. Similarly, instrumental versions of earlier
years are not yet included, and many versions of a song are mentioned
ones for earlier years. The fields now are
Album, Song, Duration, Singer(s), Lyrics, Music, Starring, Remarks

WHAT NEXT:

I would primarily require the help in durations. I was previously
cassette player guy, so I didn't have the durations and I didn't collect
it. If you have durations, please send it to me and I would update that.

Anybody having remaining track list? Tamil/ Telugu/ Malyalam? please
send it to me in some excel file, I will update that. Which ever of the
above mentioned fields are there, would be helpful, but need not be all
fields, whatever is available is good enough.

But keep on visiting the list in your spare time and find misinformation
and correct it or send to me the correct information for updation.

2008-07-20 Thread Vinayakam Murugan
1: Best movie - Thiruda Thiruda , Other MR Movies (Must confess
haven't seen Dil Se as yet), RDB , Lagaan, Swades
2: Worst movie - Duet, Mr Romeo, Parasuram, New, Aah Aaah
3: Best song picturised - All MR Songs except Humma Humma (Didn't
like it). Most of Shankar's (He does tend to go a bit
overboard,sometimes), AG,All songs of RDB
4: Worst song picturised - Lots and Lots of them. Many directors fail
to capture the entire essence of ARR's music onto the screen.

Oh. thanks for sharing.

I was wondering how I got to see that song. So, I must have seen it
because it was ARR's.

Actually, their trick seemed to serve the purpose that I still remember
that effect, probably that is what they wanted, even if I do not think

1: Best movie - Roja and Lagaan
2: Worst movie - Kangalal Kaidhu Sei and Parasuram (Movie and not songs)
3: Best song picturised - Nenjil Jil Jil (Male version is better than

4: Worst song picturised - New york nagaram from SOK (Lovely song but it's a
pain in the eyes to watch the slide show, though an innovative attempt!)

2008-07-20 Thread jee_music
hmmsakkarakatti might sounds good...but please don't Compare
arr's 90's work with these days work...

that time he was trying change and give a new look to Tamil cinema,
and he Successful, because he has done an average of 7-9 films a
year..but now he is hardly doing 2-3 films a year, while the other
Musicians keep repeating same kind of music again and again
and the Tamil Listeners have a bad habit, that they will like
anything if they listen again and again..We can see that before
rahman in 1992, where they were liking same kinda music..(I DON'T
WANT TO POINT OUT THE NAMES) then in 1992-2000, they were listening
to our arr...then rahman starts to nero down his films in 2000-now
AS a rahman's true fan, this is worrying me. so i think if our boss
is trying to change the trend, he has to do more films.
Please discuss about this matter...i think it is important

Don't think that I got a place in the music world just because I happen to
be the nephew of AR Rehman. Nobody will ever entertain anybody if he is not
talented, particularly in Music."

*Tell us how you started your journey as composer?*

Well. Even before I became a composer, I was a playback singer even as a
small boy. I don't why exactly what attracted me towards the realm of music.
I simply fell for it. It is my passion. When I was in school and college, I
took active part in cultural programs. I used to play guitar. Ilayaraja sir
is a big inspiration to me. AR Rehman is my idol. I am thankful to the
audience who recognized me very early when I sang the chuk bhuk railey song
in Gentleman. Later, I sang for about forty songs. I worked for ad
commercials and radio programs.

[arr] Sakkarakatti – Yet another magic from AR Rahman

2008-07-20 Thread Vithur
Sakkarakatti – Yet another magic from AR Rahman

I was hearing to Sakkarakkatti's
songs the whole day today –
my sunday filled with ARR magic moments. Whattaa
an album!! All the songs were too good, and my favourite singer
Chinmayihad sung two numbers
which were amazing. I was totally mesmerized by her
voice in "I miss you da.." song. It was totally a different songs than her
previous numbers. Something really special. Dude – you rock!

Looking forward to see how they shoot these songs. Because, there are a
lot of good songs, but bad video :) And, few good songs, with awesome video
– like "Newyork Nagaram" from Jillendru oru Kadhal again from
A.R.Rahman.

I'm looking for these song lyrics. Anyone?

[arr] Some collection of news

2008-07-20 Thread Vithur
Soundarya Rajnikanth's animated film, Sultan the Warrior, is to be released
worldwide in April 2009. The second most ex-pensive Indian film ever made,
it features AR Rahman's music. Soundarya makes a guest appearance in a song
sequence in the forthcoming film Kuselan.

Three major audio launches took place in Kodambakkam last week. The biggest
was the star-studded event for Sakkarakatti, which marks the adult debut of
Saandhanu, son of actor, writer, director, producer and composer K
Bhagyaraj, opposite debutante actress Ishita. Among the dignitaries were K
Balachander, Bharathiraja, Vikraman, KS Ravikumar, Dharini, Rama Narayanan,
Ameer, SA Chandh-rasegaran, M Raja, SP Muthuraman, Soundarya Rajnikanth and
Saan- dhanu's parents, Bhagyaraj and Poornima.

The film is being produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu and marks the debut of his
son, Kalaa Prabhu, as a director. It is aimed at the youth and features a
vibrant soundtrack by AR Rahman and computer graphics by Soundarya
Rajnikanth. It is scheduled for release on August 15.

[arr] Of A.R. Rahman

2008-07-20 Thread Vithur
I am sure all of you'll know who AR Rahman is (atleast all the
Indians,rite)...
He's a world reknown music director/singer. He has not only done Tamil
albums but also Hindi,English and a whole lotta others featuring different
languages. He's one of my favourite music director and I simply love all of
his songs!!!

His latest album in Tamil is 'Sakkarakatti', an upcoming movie starring
Bhagyaraj's son (very sorry, I really can't recall his name). He has
composed six songs and all of them are totally awesome. I am just gonna list
a couple of my favorites from the album here,

   - Marudhaani - Sung by Madhushree and Rahman himself, this song is modern
yet beautiful. Cuz, a lotta songs these days are modern/cool but can't be
described as beautiful. This one is an exception.
   - Naan Eppodhu - Sung by Reena Bharadwaj, this one is more modernly
classical. I am not a music graduate and I have no formal education of
music, the literal music atleast. So, I just describe based on my 'feel'
about the song. So, ya it's more of a modern classical, if you get what I
   mean.

There is nothing insulting in it. It is frustration. That person is unhappy not
getting a chance to work with ARR, and he is expressing that.If any of us, ARR
fans, goes to produce/ direct a movie somehow, the MD of choice would obviously
be ARR, but if ARR refuses to do your movie, you would also feel let down,
disappointed, frustrated, angry. It is natural.he didn't say any bad thing
about arr. There is just a hint of ARR doing favoritism, bias, partiality and
so on. I think it depends on individual's perception and doesn't really reflect
anything on ARR in any case. Of course, ARR can't compose for 100 films every
year, so there would always be some left.--VOn 7/15/2008 8:30 PM India Time,

paper on the 3rd page of 16th or 17ths issue. may be it will happen.

its nice he wants Rahman and appreciated his efforts and ability but if the
movie is not directed by
a good director(already the hero is useless) surely the movie wont click like
"uliyin oosai".

like ilayaraja's beautiful music,no one will realise our anna's music too.

will pray that a good director should direct the movie.

[arr] Re: Madhushree Voice Resembles Sadhana Sargam ?

2008-07-20 Thread Dinesh
Hi arvind, yes, Madhushree at a certain level resembles Sadhana's
voice. But if u really see, Madhushree's voice is more on the thin
side. Her voice is said to be like the sound of the last strand of the
guitar. Sadhana on the other hand has a sharp voice.

I think that is why A.R.Rahman actually made both of them sing " Naina
Milake - Saathiya" together to experiment in both their voices :)

It was originally released by Pan Music (a CBS Records licensee
before

CBS was acquired by Sony and Pan became a Sony licensee). Later, BMG

Crescendo (a BMG licensee in India briefly, founded by Suresh Thomas,

an ex-Magnasound employee who took the BMG license which was till then

with Magnasound with him) acquired Pan Music's portfolio and released

it again on their label. When BMG was acquired by Sony and Sony

entered India on its own, Crescendo went independent and survived. It

no longer actively releases new titles but still re-releases some of

its older titles. There is one ARR title on Crescendo, the Malayalam

film 'Yodha' which was originally released by Yesudas' Tharangini

Records whose portfolio is now licensed to Crescendo. And yeah, if

anyone sees a CD of Yodha, I am interested.

On Colours, ARR is only credited as "Keyboards - Dilip".

2008-07-20 Thread PRATAP
"Chaiyya Chaiyya" not only reached the charts in India, but also became popular
in England. Remixes of the song were used in the opening and closing credits of
the 2006 film, Inside Man, directed by Spike Lee and produced by Brian Grazer.

Yes, Kalimuthu is right.. those tricks are done by the TV channels,
escpecially Sun network.. I guess they just change the Hue parameter
to vary the colors.. Though now it seems very odd to us, I remember
that time ppl were talking about it in the salon where the song was
going on in the TV.. :o)

Rawat,

Yes, It is the same K Bhagyaraj.. He is known for his very good
screenplays.. His son however is just an actor.. Sakkarakatti is being
directed by Kalaprabhu S/o Producer Dhanu..

Oh. thanks for sharing.

I was wondering how I got to see that song. So, I must have seen it
because it was ARR's.

Actually, their trick seemed to serve the purpose that I still remember
that effect, probably that is what they wanted, even if I do not think
highly of that effect.
