 Ajit can heave a sigh of relief as his long-in-the-making K.S.Ravikumar directed Godfather shoot is complete including the last song. The unit members broke a Poosnikai the traditional way to complete a film. 
Now what remains is mixing and other technical work which will take only a week for the first copy to be ready. Ravikumar who has gone to US for some preliminary work of his next film Dasavatharam is expected to be back in Chennai by May 15. 
Says Balasubramaniam Mannadiyar who holds the satellite and Coimbatore rights of the film: "I saw some rushes of the film and it has all the makings of a super hit. Ajit is amazing in a triple role and we are trying our best to release the film by June 9". 
Meanwhile NIC Arts Chakravarthy the producer of Godfather is also trying to start his long pending film AC with S.J.Suryah and Silambarasan before the release of Godfather. This time the financiers and distributors are putting all pressure to see that the film releases in June.

The movie is releasing the may 3rd week and it was delayed due to the other movie of ajith that released last week . But the movie has huge competation from Dr PadmaShree Kamalhasssan's Vetiayadu Villayadu (Music Harris Jeyaraj ) and Selvaraghavan's Pudhupettai (Music Yuvan shankar raja) . Interesetingly all the songs are hit and Gautham's Vetiayadu Villaydu is expected to be a cracker . so we have to wait and watch the response for God father.

Do u guys know that this is the first flim (godfather) with complete 
remix music..given to the orginal. As for appreciationyes we might 
feel Godfather might not really lift up to the expectations...but u 
must remember one thing...its all because in western albums..we find 
this common..as a resultwe take it easy..guys this kinda song is 
actually hard to make in tamil lyrics and music. Arr muct have put in 
alot of effort..so we must really appreciate this.

Only arr comes with creativenes..n the next minute all the mds will 
xerox it..look at the quality...only arr can deliver

[arr] Godfather movie releasing on May

Hi guys,     in the recent edition of tamil weekly ananda vikatan, director KSR was being interviewed and according to him, the movie is going to a be treat for ajith fans since it has 3 ajiths. Also its slated for release on May since one song need to be picturised. Further he guarantees all the necessary items for the success of the movie by remarking 'lateaa vandhalum latesta varan Godfather' (meaning eventhough Godfather is releasing late, but its packed with latest things). Lets hope for the movie's release and KSR further stresses the importance of the music in the film and overall value of the film due to ARRs music.      Also he is busy with dasavataram with kamal. As if the picture of ARR in a trance-like smile on the back cover was not stunning enough, the superb poster of Rahman behind the lyric sheet is an invaluable bonus. But let's not forget the immaculately designed package as a whole - well-chosen fonts, clear, crisp printing, eye-pleasing
 colours, cool montages of Ajit, and the elegant CD label artwork - the whole package looks and feels like a production from an international record label like Sony-BMG or Warner Records. A lot of thought has gone into its design, and it shows! So here's a huge, huge, kudos to those behind it (Sumeru Design house must be a major fan of ARR to have poured so much love into this package). I only wish I had a scanner so that everyone can see this beauty. The manufacturing quality is top-notch (thanks to Agi Music who seem to be leagues ahead from other Malaysian music labels like Alai
 Osai, Five-Star, etc).At S$12.50, it's considerably underpriced compared to international CDs which are normally not less than S$18. But I guess the price will be of some concern to the non-discerning buyer (used to the S$10 or less Malaysian versions) who may not see much value in the package. It's a risk, but a justified one. I only hope Agi and KM Musiq make a tidy profit so that they can keep up the great work. Here's to more such!PS. I would hesitate to add this, but I think the 'appeal to respect copyright' message could be avoided in future productions - it's the
 only 'unprofessional' aspect of the CD - but perhaps an understandable one considering it's the first such production. It takes nothing away from the wonderful feeling of owning the CD though! [arr] Godfather movie - release on 8th or 10th??

Hi Guys,

My friend told me that godfather might be released on 8th or 10th 
March. He got the info from a guy working in colliseum.

Not really sure about it. Anyone have better info on this.( as far as i 
know it's posponed to may but now...)

If it's really released now, im very sure that the sale of Godfather cd 
(songs) will be even greater.

[arr] Godfather Audio CD (International Edition) - Kudos!

Just wanted to say a HUGE THANKS to the team behind the international 
edition of the Godfather CD. God knows how long we've been waiting for 
something like this - that one of our group members (Vijay Iyer, 
MASSIVE THANKS!) was involved is extremely heartening. I couldn't wait 
to listen to the songs so I went ahead and bought the Indian edition 
first, which in its own weird way was attractive (appealing to the 
target audience in TN I am sure, though the '8th Wonder of the World' 
tag was patently unnecessary - gosh the extent ppl will go to sell 
their stuff). 

But the International version - God almighty! - I couldnt recognize it 
at first on the shelf at Oli's M3 in Singapore, 'cos I was looking for 
the usual garish cover; but then, there it was, extreme right of the 
first row - stunningly elegant, and oh-so-totally-cool! For the first 
time in a long time, I felt good about buying a Tamil audio CD in 
Singapore (which usually gets the horribly designed cover versions 
from Malaysia). As if the picture of ARR in a trance-like smile on the 
back cover was not stunning enough, the superb poster of Rahman behind 
the lyric sheet is an invaluable bonus. But let's not forget the 
immaculately designed package as a whole - well-chosen fonts, clear, 
crisp printing, eye-pleasing colours, cool montages of Ajit, and the 
elegant CD label artwork - the whole package looks and feels like a 
production from an international record label like Sony-BMG or Warner 
Records. A lot of thought has gone into its design, and it shows! So 
here's a huge, huge, kudos to those behind it (Sumeru Design house 
must be a major fan of ARR to have poured so much love into this 
package). I only wish I had a scanner so that everyone can see this 
beauty. The manufacturing quality is top-notch (thanks to Agi Music 
who seem to be leagues ahead from other Malaysian music labels like 
Alai Osai, Five-Star, etc).

At S$12.50, it's considerably underpriced compared to international 
CDs which are normally not less than S$18. But I guess the price will 
be of some concern to the non-discerning buyer (used to the S$10 or 
less Malaysian versions) who may not see much value in the package. 
It's a risk, but a justified one. I only hope Agi and KM Musiq make a 
tidy profit so that they can keep up the great work. Here's to more 
such!

PS. I would hesitate to add this, but I think the 'appeal to respect 
copyright' message could be avoided in future productions - it's the 
only 'unprofessional' aspect of the CD - but perhaps an understandable 
one considering it's the first such production. It takes nothing away 
from the wonderful feeling of owning the CD though!

Upon a first round of listening to the songs, my favorite was Kamma 
Karaiyil, a kuthu song with ARR's own special touch setting it apart 
from the rest of the multitude of such songs being released now...a 
good song to choreograph a film dance for which is what we are going 
to do at my UC Berkeley's culture show. ARR, if you ever read this, 
thank you for coming to Stanford and come again to California soon!! I 
can't wait for your next Tamil soundtrack!!!

 Ajit's K.S.Ravikumar directed Godfather which has been long in the making was in the news recently after its promos started appearing on channels. The film supposed to release on February 24 has now been postponed! 

Last Friday night, music director A.R.Rahman, Crazy Mohan and Ravikumar watched the entire film at the director's home theatre in his office at West Mambalam. Those who saw the film including Rahman says that it has shape out extremely well. Rahman has started the re-recording which will be complete by the end of this week. However a song is yet to be canned. 
The trouble is that, there is an agreement between Ajit, AVM and the Tamilnadu film distributors federation that Godfather can only release 50 days before or after the release of Tirupati scheduled on April 14. February 24 was the cut-off date and does that mean that 
Godfather will release only in June? 
But Balasubramaniam, the Coimbatore based distributor and satellite rights holder of the film says: "Come hell or high water, we will try to release the film by March 17 as Crores are locked in the project. I saw the rushes of the film which is outstanding and is a sure super hit". 
Now Godfather distributors are putting pressure on Ajit and AVM to postpone Tirupati to May 1, the actor's birthday. But AVM is in no mood to oblige as elections are due in Tamilnadu in the first week of May.

i believe u dont like carnatic music or ur music sense is different - a kinda liking arr compositions like kadhalar dhinam , kadhalan , jeans etc but not liking the ones like sangamam and "innisai"..

 
well man let me tell u... the godfather album can be rated with " best of arr" for just that one classical piece , if not any other song .
 
i believe the best music in the whole world is indian classical music (i dont mind what anyone else argues , coz i have heard almost all kinda music in this world and everything except indian classical music appeals to the wordly life and materailistic existence.. indian classical appeals straight to our spirit and soul - call it salvation or sublimation... (more for carnatic compared to hindustani)

 
dear dude - if u have not listenend to or dont have an inclinaton towards classical - better start it soon.. u will discover a new world ...

hey guys, wow what great music by ARR. Each song is composed with 
tremendous care and thought. I am noticing that many reviews are not 
very positive. Please guys, dont get influenced by these reviews. 
After about 2 days of constant listening, i was beginning to think 
that the songs werent that good, so i decided to not listen to it the 
next day and oh man was i bothered! Each songs took turns playing 
in my head, and each song began to haunt me, and then i realized the 
true power of God Father. Please guys, continue listening to this 
wonderful piece. Lets make this a hit by following our instincts. 

And also Gopal please dont take the message, that someone from this 
group wrote seriously. He was just a bit too angry. I thought the same

isnt d ILamai.. from GF similar to ale ale.. from 1 2 Ka 4.
again Theeyilviyunda.. is similar from mera yaar mila de.. from Sathiyaa
the inisai (REMIX) could have done without the tarzan style yee.. 
bcos d original INISAI is AWESOME but as an ARR fan i would have loved 
if it could have been longer.
but then d beats in d Inisai(remix)are GR8!!
is it necessary dat a remix needs extra beats? would have loved an 
Inisai with mild instrumentation like Thulivarum katre.. from Rhythm.
NARESH is a good find.
all in all ARR has experimented and the end result is great!!
i know ppl will contradict dis but i would welcome a debate!!

Hi Guys, listened to GF music...1. Kaatril --  highly reminiscient of snehidhane from alaipayuthey. But excellent instrumentation and bears the ARR stamp.2. Deepavali --  ARR has reverted to his prev styles like chikku bukku raile and kuchi kuchi rakkama, by using kids in song..the song is quite good.it grows on you.3. Innisai -- ARR literally teaches Harris Jayaraj how to use a carnatic based tune in commercial cinema compare this song with iyengaaru veetu azhakeARR simply the best.4. Kamma Karaiyile -- Surely intended for the front benchersawesome kuthu paatu and coming from ARR, it also has super loops in it.5. has presences of other notes.. Being similar to his previous works like 'adi

The enjoyment while listening to Godfather is bountiful. I lose myself. 
I cannot press skip on any song. It has been quite a while since I
have done that. Each song seems better than the previous and each
listening only enhances the pleasure.

I am glad that the music has finally released. It would have been
criminal to shelve such divine music.

Except the innisai and kaatril others r all mass songs tht would go
well with all the centres.Innisai and katril r categorized as class
songs which r members in our playlist.. Well heard the album goes on

The audiocassettes of the Godfather have finally 
hit the stands. The CD and cassette covers feature 
Ajith in varied get ups from Godfather. To his 
fans, they are simply superb! Going by the initial 
trends, the sales are above average. But then, 
that is the way with any Rahman blockbuster. The 
music shops such as Landmark, Music World, Connexions 
however say, the sales are good, standing next 
to Chandramukhi in the chart. Ajith must be euphoric 
indeed, looking at the way, his fans are going 
on in a promo campaign. It is hoped that Godfather 
will perform better than Paramasivan. If it does, 
it will be a second coming for Ajith.

Hi guys i listened to gf music frm raaga.com n i have'nt bought the cd n today i m going to buy that n my opinion is .     Illamai (remix) is simply superb with western style n suresh peters is back with rahman after many yrs...sure great treat to city youths     Kamman karaiyil is a unlike stytle of rahman but very superb n catchy when i listened 2 it 2 the very I st time sure u guys t n naresh has sung 2 it very differently.sure great hit 2 all taste     Katril feel odd when the shahiba line comes when listening to it I st but feels nice after 2 timessure a great melody to u guys      Innisai is my pic in this album.Again naresh has sung s besutiful no. to this album n sure that he is gonna rock in the near future.     Thottapuram is little telugu stylish n remembers the gopala gopala
 song frm kadhalan,The childrens voice has been used well n the percusuions too..     Theeyil vilundha is my another pic in this album.Our boss has sung superbly n the lyrics too is superb n sure a treat 2 rahman fans      The remixes are also superb n mind blowing.The nine songs are sure to rock the whole tamilnadu n our boss is back with cent percent.waiting for the movie to release b'coz i m a Ajith fan tooo n waiting to see the videos.     bye take care guys

No the rights werent wid ARR.They sold It2 Star
Music/hit music...and they In turn sold The
International rights...B/w they get the major audio
rights of the Industry...Includin Most Shankar
Movies..Bt Heard from an Inside source that Sivaji
Audio Rights Might go 2 sm1 else...Also they have got
the rights for the kamal starrer Vetayadu which Might
get released In a week er 2 weeks..Thanks...

[arr] Godfather - My pick >> Theeyil Vizhundha & Katril

I listened to the Godfather music today, thanks to the RAAGA.COM lead 
given by a group member.

My Pick of this album are these two songs Theeyil Vizhundha & Katril.

The first one is classic ARR song and also sung by him very well, in 
the category of Kannathil Muthalmittal. Gives you that 'uneasy' feeling 
within you. Outstanding BOSS !

The second one Kathril has an arabic touch, which is, I think 3 songs 
on the trot for ARR. Sung well by Sadhana ( I am biased for Sadhana, 
know her since ages ! ) and supported well by the great SPB and others.

All in all a good album, with these two gems, it is a ++ album.

I am going to Chennai on 27'th when I will buy the CD.

theeyil vizhunda ... very usual with all arr solos ... just love it when he sings ...
 
he's my fav. singer 
... not disrespecting all the great singers but all my fav. songs were sung by 
him ... dil se re, only you, vellai pookkal etc...
i would request boss 
to please sing at least one solo per album :)
