Guys,
   Why is AR not performing "Pray for brother" in any of his concerts. Its a 
kinda song which has so much of international appeal to it. It will be a 
perfect climax in his concerts if he performs this. And that too for a world 
tour in US, needless to say. It will be something like how MJ finishes his 
concerts with a "Heal the world" number.But i wonder why AR doesnt. Its my 
favourite too. I think we have had enough of Jai Ho. Pray for me brother 
pelase

* Secondly, please check out the soundtrack of Passage.Its a must have.
Now, before you guys raise your eyebrows let me tell you this is not the usual 
remix done for dance hall themes. This anthem composed by Rahman for UN’s 
Mellenium Developement Goals was a great success. A program by United Nations 
to end poverty by 2015, the theme is about asking each of us a simple question 
– ” Are you searching for a reason to be kind?”. This is a special song from 
India to the world. With this, read on!
I could not control the urge to attempt a respectful remix of this special 
track. I just wondered if i can push myself and do a remix maintaining the same 
sanctity and respect that this song deserves. Do let me know if i succeded. As 
always, Original is the king.

anyways its an album which has got two tracks  - one with the vocal and the 
other the same song in instruments.. its one of the master pieces of our boss

Dear Rahmaniacs,

A superb thought that arose in the mind of one of our member by name V.
Ganesh, who suggested that we could donate The Pray for Me Brother Books to
the orphanage that we visited on Sunday ( the Concert Day ) . This would
serve the purpose of we buying the books and contributing for ARR
Foundation, and also serving the kids with a colouring book of ARR, which
would still give us a better place in their hearts.

Now, I had a look at the site www.a1books.co.in. I am unable to find the
link to the Volume II of the Book.

Can Gopal or Vijay confirm the link to the Volume II of the pfmb, and also
guide us as to how to buy these books in bulk, say 30 or 40 books. Then , we
shall plan as to how we can contribute monies, and get these books.

iam saying this a bit late but i have to say.


 the music of pray for me brother is so pleasant. the 
lyrics is very touching.  i would rate it up there with michael 
jacksons 'heal the world' or 'cry'.  brilliant.. boss keep going.

  but i felt the video was a bit hypocritical. its too 
urban. i read somewhere that the album was for 'tuberculosis'  
people. but i while watching the video i thought it was 
for 'epileptic fits patients' as i saw some black guys having fits on 
the video.

the video is not very inspiring at all. but our boss 
being in that is a treat to watch.

Before u speak like that, look at our condition, I cant find the audio
anywhere in Saudi Arabia. Whose Fault is it??? Mine or UNIVERSAL's? So
my way is till I get the original , which I'll surely buy, I donwload
it and enjoy it. I've been doing this for a long time. When the audio
comes out, I buy it. Sometimes in KSA the audio never comes out, or u
get PIRATED audio CDs, which i dont like. So the next visit to india I
buy it. So guys dont just say "GO BUY IT!!!". Yes I can buy online,
but I dont have credit card and only Maestro and it doesnt work. Till
I get my audio I'm enjoy downloaded songs! If you want to stop piracy,
I think the only way is releasing the audio everywhere on the same day.

Awesome... I have no words to express my feelings after seeing the
video. It's outstanding, Marvelous….. 

It's been showing in Zee Music (I think it's exclusive, as i have not
seen in V or Mtv). You have to see the Program "EK KE BAAD EK". It's
the second or third song. It repeats daily. Its been released by
universal music.

Video is in Black and White, picturised in some foreign location (I
think its Britain). The theme of the video is love. Two couple starts
of in a car, they have fight between them. While they are traveling
they see in the Billboards photos of the poor people, children, people
who suffer. Ultimately they reach where Rahman would be in the middle
of the road singing the lines

Love is expressed by them, the end.
Rahman has improved tremendously from the Vandemataram shots. He is
Superb (but he has very less shots, no blaaze here instead one hip hop
guy with some cool steps sings the rap). Even though Rahman has few
shots those are amazing.

Final Verdict: I think there should have been more shots of Rahman. No
problem. Who ever has directed it (I think its Bharatbala) deserves
some credit.

THanks mirza, for ur help, but i happend to be living in Saudi Arabia.
Now I got Maestro card, I tried entering it in 7digital, it says CARD
no. and Card type does not match. And 1 more question for Maestro
(which is a debit card) 7 digital is asking for Validation no. But hey
Maestro doesnt have validation no. WHat do i Enter. Please help dude!

download Pray For Me Brother.. they accept different forms of payment methods,

Hi all,

I know how there are so many out there who are dying to hear ARR's
newly released Pray For Me Brother. I downloaded it yesterday for 0.79
pounds or Rs 69. All you need to download is a valid credit card. The
downloaded song will be in 192kbps WMA DRM format which means that it
can be played only for 1 license and cannot be converted to any other
format.

Kick-starting a week of GCAP ‘Wake Up' events before White Band Day 2 this 
weekend, an
anti-poverty concert was held in Delhi, India on September 3. 

 

The concert was part of a two-day South Asian People’s Summit Against Poverty 
(PSAP) on
September 3-4

 

'Pray for me brother. Do you need a reason to be kind', sang Bollywood music 
star A.R. Rahman
as he lent his support to the People's Concert against poverty, held on 
Saturday evening.

 

Rahman was joined by singer Kailash Kher, Indian Ocean and Envision in the 
special concert
against poverty organised by GCAP, in collaboration with People's Summit 
against Poverty.

 

"The anthem 'Pray for..' is based on the theme of eradicating poverty and is 
very close to my
heart," said Rahman, who performed his new anti-poverty song for the first 
time.

 

"There is a need to remind people from time to time that we should make our 
lives meaningful by
extending support to such noble causes. I feel great to be associated with such 
causes," said
Kher Kailash who sang his hit from the Bollywood film, 'Mangal Pandey'.

 

And Indian Ocean stole the show with their songs "Are ruk ja re bande.." and 
"Kasi Hile Patna
hile.."

 

Throughout the concert speakers representing diverse groups, both from the 
Indian campaign and
from GCAP globally, took to the stage. 

 

Amitabh Behar and Shefali, spoke on the Indian campaign and the reality of 
poverty in India. 
While Minar Pimple, GCAP Co-chair, gave an overview of GCAP globally.  

 

At the end of the show John Samuel, ActionAid’s international director for 
Asia, tied a White
Band to Rahman’s wrist and both called for an end to poverty.

 

The concert was timed to boost the GCAP campaign, ahead of globally planned 
actions next week
just prior to the UN World Summit.

 

"The aim of the concert was to generate support among the masses. Such events 
will raise
awareness amongst people and draw the attention of the government to poverty," 
said Indu
Prakash Singh, National Campaign Co-ordinator for Action Aid.

 

Like the Live8 concerts in July, the aim of the event was not to raise funds, 
but to create
awareness about widespread poverty in India and across the world, Singh said.

 

Meanwhile, Rahman, invited media to a press conference in a Delhi slum where 
reporters were
surrounded by people who live on a daily basis with extreme poverty and 
suffering.

 

To echo the words of Rahman, the concert certainly helped to add Indian voices 
to the
widespread international call to end poverty.

 

The People’s Summit Against Poverty

 

The concert was held as part of the South Asian People’s Summit Against Poverty 
from 3rd – 4th
of September, in Delhi. 

 

Launched by former prime minister V.P. Singh, well over 10,000 people attended, 
eager to
discuss India’s progress on the Millennium Development Goals, ahead of next 
week’s UN Summit.

 

Other speakers included, A.B Bardhan, Secretary of the Communist Party of India 
and Dr. Sayeeda
Hameed, a member of the Indian government Planning Commission – the department 
responsible for
the implementation of the MDGs in India.

 

The Summit also marked the release of the Indian Citizen’s Report on MDGs, 
which evaluated the
Indian Government’s progress on the MDGs and the national expression of these 
in the National
Development Goals.

 

On the 3rd a massive rally was held with over 12,000 people marching throughout 
the streets of Delhi.
