hi all, i dont see any comments on Sivaji (hindi) release...! i just got hold of the CD today and i personally find it a vintage rahman album in true sense! i mean, back in early/mid 90's some rahman albums (dubbed) used to sound so confusing at first and lyrics used to b a bit out of norm (and sometimes odd too..!). yet sheer brilliance of rahman, they slowly turned out to be true masterpieces. it's the same here in this album, while i still can't digest a few tracks to be frank; but i'm fascinated with tracks like Suhana Sama (both version), Aandhi Ki Tarha (any song sung by rahman always tops my playback count :D) and Suraj Hai (for its rustic feel) so far and the CD sound quality is exceptionally good (compared to other releases) too. i infact find it one of very few rahman albums that has got so crisp and well balanced sound all through. wat you say...? i understand may b most of you already had the tamil release, yet put out some comments/analysis on the hindi release for new listeners too.. :)

Balleilakka in Hindi - Suraj Hai Chanda Hai; Lyrics are extremely funny, everytime I listen to it, cant stop laughing lol Hamein Gaye Bailon Se Bhi Itna Pyaar Hai, Soche Ke Rashan Card Mein Shamil Kar Lein Inko Paas Ke Padosi Ko Khaana Bhi Khila De, Aisa Pyaar Iska Apni Saras Kheti, Chikni Chikni Kaali Raati Style The Boss lyrics were pretty much the same - because of use of English. I am disappointed with the lyrics of Waahji Waahji but like the lyrics of Aandhi Ki Tarah. Out of all the lyrics, Suhana Sama lyrics are most impressive. I know it happens in Shankar's movies quite often (people found Humse Hai Muqabla, Hindustani lyrics quite odd). Just wondering, whether Tamil lyrics of Sivaji (especially Balleilakka) were also strange funny? Asking because I dont understand Tamil.

Ohh line by line translation!! Probably thats why it sounds odd at some instances.. OMG it was mind goggling.. the video n audio clarity was awesome.. its a must buy for all blu ray player owners.. you get to hear lot of unheard sounds in the songs escpecially in adhiradi song.. So this is no bootleg or pirated version. At first I thought it was some old movie of Rajnikanth dubbed to hindi. But the covert art is indeed that of tamil Sivaji, with the trademark blue *Sivaji* writing printed on the bottom right. Star cast says Rajnikanth, Uma (?) and music director is listed as Ilayaraja. Naveeen This is certainly a wrong stuff. I doubt Shemarooo will release the VCD, when Ayngaran has taken the rights for releasing the film DVD, and has also released the original tamil DVD version. Secondly, who is the UMA Actresss ??. And where does Illayaraja come into picture. Total Confusion and pirated one I guess.. I doubt if this would be a rajni movie at all. I checked Shemaroo's site and it looks like a dubbing of some old Rajini movie with cover art using Sivaji's stills. Surprisingly it is a legitimate release by Shemaroo. The director's name is given as Chandrasekhar and the producers are Sanjesh Ahuja, Rajesh Ahuja, the same guys who dubbed Muthu into hindi as Muthu Maharaja. I suppose that solves the mystery. But, playing it safe, S C Babu, CEO, AVM Productions insists that it is too early to make an announcement as the talks with foreign counterparts are still in early stages. The movie is likely to be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival in the first week of October and discussions are on to release the movie in Japan with Japanese subtitles. Rajnikanth has a strong fan base in Japan and the local demand is backed by local fan following and not just Indians living in Japan. According to Babu, the universal appeal of the music scored by A R Rahman along with the strong visual attraction (all those stunning sets created by Thota Tharrani) are strong drivers for the demand for this movie in foreign countries. The background score for the movie was recorded in Prague, Czech Republic, using local musicians by an American music conductor :-). Shivaji has already been released in Malaysia in its original form (Tamil) and it has created history by beating the highest Malay grosser in the country. Back home, the movie will complete its 100 days on September 23. The estimates of box office collections so far would be available only by the end of the month, says Babu. Rough estimates reported in the media so far range between Rs 200-450 crore, a number that the production house insists is inaccurate. The dubbed Hindi version of the movie is also under production. Though there have been rumours about a Diwali release, we feel the festival would not be the right time for the release of the Hindi version. The reason being that the deadline is too short and also, we would look at a less competitive timing for the release. After all, the original Tamil version has already been released and tasted great success in the so-called northern markets, says Babu. Sivaji has been a great success in markets like Julandhar, Lucknow and Jaipur apart from metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Delhi. For the Hindi dubbed version, certain parts of the movie will need to be reshot to make it relevant to the Hindi audience. Mumbai writer and lyricist Swanand Kirkire, who wrote the dialogues for movies like Eklavya and Chameli, is writing the Hindi version of Sivaji). The television rights for the movie were recently bought by Kalaignar TV — the yet to be launched DMK party backed TV Channel — for an undisclosed price. While Babu refused to discuss the subject, industry sources said that the TV rights have been sold for Rs 3-4 crore. Under the contract, the buyers reportedly cannot broadcast movie for three years. Despite tight controls over the prints, Sivaji has already become a victim among movie pirates. As long as the film is in the analog version, there is very little we can do to control piracy. With 800 prints in circulation, curbing piracy is a logistic nightmare, says Babu.

Now that the movie sivaji has reached 84 days by today[6-9-2007], when will the VCDs DVDs of it be released. the movie had broken all the previous Indian made movies box office running records in either the money collcted or the days ran and made to be the second best Malaysian cinemas grosser movie in the year 2007. Even the days of Thalapthy[66 days] and Mannan[68] days and Batcha[70] days were also crossed the sum of RM15 million has been raked. So why is the delay for the VCD/DVD release. we fans of Sivaji are very eager to watch it again and these VCD/DVD will be good if they really exist coz Sivaji is still running in 9 more theatres in Malaysia but all of them are very far from many Sivaji patron's residential and we cannot watch any time we want like the time when the movie just got released when it opened for 53 theatres Malysianwide which itself is a RECORD! So guys of Lotus Fivestar or Pyramid Saimira or SPS Classic! Do something to make sure the DVDs made with Dolby Digital 7.1 and DTS 5.1 got released in two weeks time!

i think we cant expect it before the hindi version of sivaji or before 100 days of the tamil version. i heard Kalaignar TV (new channel - group of sun network) launching on Sept.15th news is that it has bagged rights for sivaji... not sure then dvds will be out only after TV version.. Sivaji Meets GuruBy Behindwoods News Bureau. August 27, 2007 Kollywood is alight with rumors about the latest meeting of Superstar with Mani Ratnam, the ace director of Indian cinema. The meeting is said to have lasted for more than two hours. Rumor mongers have sprung upon this news and have started building up their own version of the meeting. However, according to Kollywood sources, the visit was purely a courtesy call where Superstar met Mani Ratnam to offer his condolences on his brother's untimely demise. Besides this, Rajnikanth has also reportedly discussed about Sivaji being dubbed in Hindi and had sought the director's suggestion on this as he had recently given a blockbuster hit in Hindi in Guru. The duo was reported to have discussed the upcoming animation film Sultan the Warrior which was followed by Mani Ratnam narrating a couple of stories to the Superstar. It is known that Rajini and Mani came together 16 years ago for the super hit Thalapathy which is still considered the best movie of Rajinikanth as an actor and the bond between them had grown ever since. Even though they have not worked together from then on, Rajinikanth has always kept him in high regards as he was the first one to appreciate Mani Ratnam when Roja and Bombay were released. Although the reasons attributed for their meeting could only be an extension of imagination of the media, still the very thought of the Super Director and Superstar coming together, is certainly the biggest news of the year.
