It takes about 3 seconds to run this statement on your production box.
DELETE FROM T793 WHERE C1 = N'042433'

Is T793 a larger table on production than it is on development? That
could be the only reason why it takes 3 seconds to delete on production
from T973 as deletes are not immediately committed to the database, but
written to the transaction log in case of a rollback.

ARSLIST (DBA's?)

I have an issue after a recent hardware upgrade
(Application Server and MS SQL Server) where the system is running
extremely fast and acceptable, unless I run arimportcmd or arimport. It
does not matter what file or table I am selecting for the Import the
deciding factor is what option I use in the Import (See Below) ( I am
working with our DBA as well)

Here are the details

ARS 6.3 Patch 23

MS SQL 2000 (Remote Enterprise Server)

Server D = Development

This system runs great all the time including arimport and arimport
command

Server P = Production

This system runs great except when we run arimport and arimport command
with the option of Update OLD record with New Record Data (Due to data
requirements I MUST use this option)

(SLOW - PRODUCTION - Import set to - Update OLD record with New Record

URL with Search String

2008-10-03 Thread Opela, Gary L CTR USAF AFMC 72 CS/SCBAH
Okay, it's too early, and my brain is not yet working.

I have the need to create a URL for my mid-tier that will pull up
tickets matching a search criteria. For this example, we'll use 'Status'
= New

I tried the following:

https://server/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=formserver=serve
rview=viewStatus=New
https://%3cserver%3e/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=%3cform%3eserv
er=%3cserver%3eview=%3cview%3eStatus=%22New

https://server/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=formserver=serve
rview=viewStatus=%22New%22
https://%3cserver%3e/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=%3cform%3eserv
er=%3cserver%3eview=%3cview%3eStatus=%22New%22

https://server/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=formserver=serve
rview=view%27Status%27=%22New%22
https://%3cserver%3e/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=%3cform%3eserv
er=%3cserver%3eview=%3cview%3e%27Status%27=%22New%22

I didn't really expect these to work, and I cannot remember the exact
syntax. I've looked through the documentation, but am having a little
hard time finding it.

Anyone know the correct way to pass a query string to the mid-tier?

Thanks,

Gary

Here's an example of one we use:

http://mid-tier server:port/arsys/forms/remedy

The users get a login screen before the form containing the record appears.

Hi!

I'm not very impressed by the SLA / SLM module in Remedy. Does anybody know is
there are any alternative applications for setting up Service Level Agreements
in Remedy (preferably for version 6.3), or an application that Remedy can
integrate with for such purposes?

Re: Midtier 7.x opens blank (white) window

2008-10-03 Thread Mench, Ryan M (N-ISS)
A BMC KB article said this can occur if there is a Active Link
associated with the form being opened which contains a Open Window
action of type Report and the Destination field in the Active Link
contains a hard return control character.

I agree that this is the right track because I disabled all of my active
links, flushed the cache and the form opened. After returning the
active links to their original state I went through each active link in
my log file and was not able to find a active link which contains a Open
Window action of type Report.

Is there a way to search a def file that contains a destination value
or a Open Window action of type Report?

I created an active link which contains an open window action type of
report and compared it to one (def file) that that does not contain a
report and did not see a visible difference.

Subject: Midtier 7.x opens blank (white) window

Folks - I'm driving myself bonkers on this and would really appreciate
your feedback. I Have a form that opens in Midtier as a blank (white)
window. The workflow contains an active link that opens it in a submit
window. I recently upgraded from ARS 5.x to 7.01 and used the 7.x import
tool to migrate the tables. Actions in the client work as designed.

Environment:

WIN2K3

Oracle 9i

IE 6.0.3

ARS 7.01 patch 9

Midtier 7.01 patch 8

Tried earlier midtier 7.x and server versions

Tried Tomcat 5.5.17 (default) and upgraded to 6.0.18

JRE/JDK version 1_4_2_16 and upgraded to 1_5_0_16

Increased Java memory to various ranges

Cleared IE cache/flushed midtier cache

Resaved the form

Renamed the form to remove the :

Rebuilt the AL that fires the open window

Here is the funny thing (not funny ha-ha), copying the existing form to
a new form does work, however changes to workflow will be a substantial
effort and only want to do this as a last resort. I've also considered
beating my fists on the floor, but I would like to wait on that as well.

Friday Humor (non political)

2008-10-03 Thread Grooms, Frederick W
Wether it is true or not, it makes you smile.

When you have an 'I Hate My Job' day, try this:

On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the
thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson
Johnson.

Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors,
draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.

Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair.
Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on
a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature from the box and read
it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement:

'Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson Johnson is
personally tested and then sanitized '.

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, 'I am so glad I do
not work in the thermometer quality control at Johnson Johnson.'

HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB
THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE A $$ THAN YOURS!

It's hard to tie this in with politics though.

Obama drives a Ford Escape Hybrid, which isn't listed here.

McCain drives a Cadillac CTS, a 2005 Volkswagen convertible, a 2001 Honda
sedan, a 2007 Ford pickup, a 1960 Willis Jeep, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, a 2000
Lincoln, a 2001 GMC SUV, and his wife drives a Lexus.

So I'm not sure what their choice of cars says about their personalities.

added them to a Support Group? Those 2 things are necessary in order for

Re: Email Engine with load balancer

The way we have it setup is both windows servers have the email engine
service running.

In the User tool on the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form,
we have set one of the servers as primary and one as secondary.

As best practice, when rebooting, I always stop the service on the
secondary and restart the primary. Then start secondary. We once had an
issue where both servers were firing off e-mails so users were getting
dupes.

I'm not sure if you are confusing the stages but after the Scheduled
state, the next state is Implementation in Progress. Planning in
Progress comes after Scheduled for Authorization and before Scheduled
for Review. Tasks do not get fired off until it hits the Scheduled

I could view this WSDL in the IE (IE has configured by my network admin to auto

Even i could make the Webserivce testing tools like SOUPUI to view\test this

How do i set the Mid-tier to go through the specific Proxy server and port to

If the HTTP\SSL request is not going out through this specific Proxy then my
vendor is not receiving any request from my network and also when I click on

Hope I am clear in explaining what I am expecting and somebody can help

Is there a utility that can perform this conversion on all records?

I believe the new Work log uses the Entry-Id for attaching to the Change

Is there an attribute of a Diary Blob field which can be used to

It's hard to tie this in with politics though.

Obama drives a Ford Escape Hybrid, which isn't listed here.

McCain drives a Cadillac CTS, a 2005 Volkswagen convertible, a 2001 Honda
sedan, a 2007 Ford pickup, a 1960 Willis Jeep, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, a 2000
Lincoln, a 2001 GMC SUV, and his wife drives a Lexus.

So I'm not sure what their choice of cars says about their personalities.

Nahh... It's actually quite easy really. I'm just not certain that we want to
go there.

...So I m not sure what their choice of cars says about their personalities...

If I were to venture a guess, it would be that *one* of these fellas realizes
that size does matter, and therefore has more fun. :-)
