Ignacio,

Does your new network card support changing the MAC? If so, then you
should be able set it to same value as the old server. If the old
server is still in use then you will need to either change it or disable
the network card, otherwise it may cause problems on your
internal/company network.

I just checked a couple of computers here and both directly support
changing the MAC. Here is the output of IPCONFIG /ALL after I changed
it to 123456789012.

If you are simply upgrading your server to v6 (or above) simply go to
SupportWeb and choose License File Upgrade. Attach your existing
license file and send it. You will receive an email with a file that has
both your existing v5 keys and the new v6 keys in it. Put that file in
place of your existing license file and you are done with the licenses.
The new file will work with your existing v5 server and when you run the
v6 upgrade install the server will recognize the v6 keys.

You did not state if you have support or not.  If you
do, you can purge off the old license and reuse it for the new server AFTER you
install ARS 6.1/6.3/7.0 and use the license portion of the Admin Tool to
get the Host ID.  This is something that I am quite familar with. I don't
know if Remedy will help you with the migration of an ARS 5.1.2 server or
not.

Ignacio,

This depends, do you want to run the report from an active link or
from the ITSM Report Console?

As you might know, if you want to run a Crystal Report from Remedy it
will override the already existing query in Cristal. You can pass the
selection criteria in the Query Override in the Open Window active
link or if you want to run the report from the Report Console, store
the qualification in the Report form.

Kind regards,

Michiel

Hi, Ignacio.

It looks like you said that you are on ARS 5.01.  I
believe in that version, importing on top of an existing form will blow the data
away.  I think version 6.x was the first version to prevent that from
occurring.  Someone please correct me if I'm
wrong.

Because of an unfortunate, previous serious data loss
incident, I was still doing the traditional export all data/import all data up
until ARS 5.1.2.  I think I attempted to import a view in 5.01.  I
don't think it turned out so pretty.

ARS 6.3 will allow one to import a form def on top of an
existing one without blowing away the data.  I still can't help but
have this overkill method of exporting at least the previous day's data;
depending on when the last backup ran.

In your dev/playground environment.
I would export the form definition AND all the data in the
form to be on the safe side.  Import the new view.  See what
happens.  If it fails, import your backup definition.  Import the
data.

Hope that helps,
Michelle

Ignacio,

With that said I think your best approach is to solve this with an
ARS methodology. Make the Application enforce the logic, not the
RDBMS.

Add filters that verify the FK value in the other table. If filters
find a problem, then throw an ARS error. (Error might be, missing
value, non-unique value, etc...)

To allow the Application to have access to the foreign table then you
likely need to look at either Direct SQL and/Or an ARS View form.

Maybe a area user question

Title: Maybe a area user question

I have a form that contains 24 questions as a survey.

The problem is that when the user try to print this (to a paper) remedy print all this in one page withour giving the opportunity to change it  and obviously it’s a horrible print.-

Trying to correct this with the setup of the printer I didn’t get a right response.

So im asking if this could be setup within Remedy user or admin tool

Pretty much any network monitoring software does
this.  Netcool, Marimba, HP OpenView, etc.  The integrations are not
that difficult.

But you can setup another tag that is 24/5 excluding Sat-Sunday if you
would
like and then just reference that tag in this particular workflow
