Subject: Mid Tier URL from published web report forces a login each time

**
Hello Listers,
ARS 8.1.00
Mid Tier 8.1
I have a published, scheduled report that runs daily for a few individuals. The
report is sent as an Excel document.
The first column of the spreadsheet shows as a hyperlink to the form and record
in question.
The first time accessed requires a login to the ARSystem which is expected
since we have no Atrium server for SSO.
But also each subsequent click on a link opens a new tab of the IE window and
pops to the login screen.

In regular email notifications opening a second or third record just uses the
same sessionID and does not ask for a login.

Is there anything that I can do at the ARServer do get the connection from the
report file to open the same way after an initial login?

Thank you,

OT: ITIL Foundations certification near King of Prussia/Valley Forge, PA

2013-12-17 Thread Schryver, Curt
I'm looking into a classroom-based (I'm trying to avoid virtual at this point),
instructor-in-the-room ITIL Foundations course near King of Prussia, PA. I
found a few but they all seem to be in Philly. Rather than have to be in the
city three days-in-a-row for an 8:00am class, I asked one particular vendor if
they ever held classes in other areas, like King of Prussia or Valley Forge.
They said they would with three or more interested students. Class seems to be
around $2,000 and everything is provided, including lunches, materials, and an
exam certificate. Anyone interested? OR know of another option?

Re: WWRUG13 - (yet another) transportation question

2013-09-24 Thread Schryver, Curt
Thanks to everyone for the input. I just got off the phone with VTA (thanks,
Natalie, for the phone number).

I can confirm the following:
It is bus #10 that will take you from SJC to the Light Rail - Metro Station
There are vending machines where you can pay via credit card for your $2 pass
(good for 2 hours)
The sign on the train will say Winchester or Santa Teresa (there are no numbers)
There are audio alerts about upcoming stops while on the train
You want the San Antonio station at 2nd St. (Landmark: Starbucks)
You will need to walk 1 block through the Paseo De San Antonio Walk (toward
Johnny Rockets)
The rear entrance of the hotel is across the street

The return trip is even easier.
Exit the rear of the hotel and stand there waiting for the train
Northbound trains run on 1st St.
Sign on train will say Alum Rock or Mountainview
Vending machine is supposedly present
Get off at the Metro Station stop

Thanks, Joe, for the additional responses.

ARX extract including attachments with Japanese characters in the filenames

2013-09-18 Thread Schryver, Curt
7.6.04 SP2
Oracle 11

I've attempted this a number of times and the process keeps dying. I have a
custom form with around 20,000 records. On the form is an Attachment Pool that
can handle up to 6 attachments. The form is used globally so has a variety of
languages within the data, including the names of the files in the attachments.
I've used both the Windows client and the Mid-Tier. Knew I'd have issues with
the Windows client but was willing to accept "strange" data if I could get the
attachments intact. I would get several thousand files in my data folder and
then suddenly the process would just die - it was trying to save a file with a
Japanese character in the filename. So, I moved over to the Mid-Tier and tried
the same thing. At least here I could tell it to save the data in UTF-8 so
everything should be good. It appears that it is trying to write all of the
files to one big ZIP file, which is fine by me, but again, it just dies in the
middle.

My question is... how can I extract attachments that have Japanese characters
in the filenames?

Thanks!

Old Dates will not cause any warnings (My Business Time Holidays form goes back
to 2003 with no issues).

The problem is that the format of the data was not followed correctly. If you
check the help for the field it will tell you that each line needs to end with
a ;

From the Field help
Use one of the following formats to enter dates without timestamps:
  1) No Start Time. The format here is: date,,end time; For example
7/26/04,,6:00:00 PM;
In this case the start time is taken as 12:00:00 AM.
  2) No End Time. The format here is: date, start time; For example
7/26/04,2:00:00 PM;
In this case the end time is taken as 11:59:59 PM.
  3) No Start and No End Time. The format here is: date;. For example
7/26/04;
In this case the start time is taken as 12:00:00 AM and end time is
taken as 11:59:59 PM.

So the data should have been
   01/01/08;
   07/04/08;
   11/11/08;
   12/25/08;

Hi,

It isn't an error but warning. This warning code means the date in the holiday
list of the Business Time Holiday form is not a legal date.
In your case it is an old/expired date. Illegal dates are ignored and
processing continues.

Application service takes a loooong time to start

2013-01-18 Thread Schryver, Curt
When we try to manually start the Application service on our Development
machine (see specs below), we get an error that it took too long. The status
says "Starting" instead of "Started." If we wait about 15 minutes and refresh,
it will most likely (but not definitely) says "Started." In the past, it would
start within 30 seconds of us telling it to. Besides the usual Microsoft
patches and basic server upkeep, I don't think anything has changed in nearly a
year. We DID recently install a second Dev server that will eventually be part
of a server group (services aren't running, but machines share the DB) and many
pieces of the ITSM suite (used to be mostly homegrown). Our form count went
from just under 800 to a little over 3,000. Is this a normal reaction to the
addition of so many forms (and baggage)? The addition of a server? Our
primary concern is bogging down our QA and Production environments when we do
the same installs there. Any and all advice appreciated.

We are running ARSystem 7.1.0 patch 007 and engine (file version) 7.1.00.008 on
an Oracle DB. We have several mailboxes configured - three inbound and one
outbound. Nothing has been changed in over a year. One of the inbound gets
the brunt of the workload - it is configured at POP3. The polling interval is
set to 3 minutes. We typically see it read 100 e-mails from the Exchange
server at a time and don't have any issues. Today, it only seems to be reading
six or seven messages at a time. I've spoken with our Exchange support people
and they don't see any issues on the server. I have no error messages in the
stderr.log file. I have already stopped/started the e-mail engine service.

Any ideas?

com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.IncomingConnectionRecycleSize=100

If that isn't the issue turn on debugging. A possible issue could be that you
are attempting to pop an e-mail that has special characters in it that your DB
does not support (for example spam from China) or something like that. You
won't know till you look at the debug logs though.

I want to display more of an indicator that there is data in a Diary field than
the built-in "there is writing" or "there isn't writing" in the little book

I'm just guessing, but there are two things that I question. First, looks like

Hi All,

We are running Atrium, ITSM and SLM on Windows servers with Red-Hat Linux as
the web server. We keep on receiving the following error when trying to submit
an Incident.
The date entered is invalid or a bad date format. Please make sure the date
format is in the ARServer's date format and separator. : 03/21/2011 (ARERR 9951)
We have set the regional settings date format of the local system account on
the application server that the Remedy services startup with to MM/dd/yy. The
web server is setup the same. The user preference for the user we use to
submit the Incident is setup to use the SHORT format.

I would like to know if you can give me some thoughts what the cause might be
before logging a call with BMC, maybe it is something simple.

The above error is caused by a filter
[SLM:Measurement:ReqProcOverallStartTimeUpdateSLODueDateX] using the Reported
Date to calculate a due date on SLM.

Also just in case take a backup this time to be sure you are not left

Re: Best Practice: Prevent user from bookmarking resolved mid-tier page

Yup, I was heading down this road. Code below is good, but you forgot the part
that goes in the section.

/* Modified to support Opera */
function bookmarksite(title,url){
if (window.sidebar) // firefox
window.sidebar.addPanel(title, url, "");
else if(window.opera && window.print){ // opera
var elem = document.createElement('a');
elem.setAttribute('href',url);
elem.setAttribute('title',title);
elem.setAttribute('rel','sidebar');
elem.click();
}
else if(document.all)// ie
window.external.AddFavorite(url, title);
}

I've been using a View field and was getting odd behavior. Need to tweak.

Thanks!

I don't think there is an easy to stop a user from doing a bookmark.

Off the top of my head ... you can try doing the following:
Put a global field on each of your pages. Have the ASP page push a known value
to this field. You can then add a Window Open AL (shared on each page) that
runs some javascript to redirect to the ASP page if the global field does not
have the known value.

Good day, all.

I'm looking for input from the community as to what everyone else does to
prevent their customers from bookmarking resolved mid-tier pages.

We're updating our "submit a help ticket" web page.  We have an ASP page that
grabs the logged in (Active Directory) user's ID, redirects to our MT page,
while prepopulating the MT page with their information.  Generally, we only
want to share that ASP page.  We can and will have it on various Help Desk web
pages within the company, but a lot of people will be receiving the new page
via e-mail.  Once they click on it, they'll be on the MT page and if they try
to bookmark it, it will cause problems the next time they try to visit the
link.  I've added text to the top of the screen that says, "Do not bookmark
this page; to save as a Favorite, right-click here and select Add To
Favorites."  The word 'here' is hyperlinked to the ASP page.  This, needless to
say, does not work well.  For one thing, the Favorite by default wants to save
as the word 'here.'  Also, people 1) don't read, 2) don't fully understand the
terminology, and 3) don't read.

I've dabbled with some JavaScript, but haven't hit upon the right combination
to make this clean.  I've considered something with frames but ran away
screaming.

What does everyone else do?

Thanks!

After a company gets rid of all its bloated staff, this is what they
will have to choose from at their new Wal-Mart pay scales.

ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could
have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.
I asked for a half dozen nuggets.
'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter.
'You don't?' I replied.
'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.
'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'
'That's right.'
So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets (Unbelievable but sadly
true...)

TWO
I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the
lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine.. I picked up
one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed
it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed.
After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the 'divider',
looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it.
Not finding the bar code, she said to me, 'Do you know how much this
is?'
I said to her 'I've changed my mind; I don't think I'll buy that today.'
She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left.
She had no clue to what had just happened.

THREE
A woman at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and
pulling it out very quickly.
When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on
the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was
using the ATM 'thingy.'
(keep shuddering!!)

FOUR
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. 'Do you
need some help?' I asked.
She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote
door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing
to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?'
'Hmmm, I don't know. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked.
'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered, handing it and the car keys
to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, 'Why
don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long
walk'
PLEASE just lay down before you hurt yourself !!!

FIVE
Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she
was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing
paper. What do I do?' 'Just use paper from the photocopier', the
secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank
piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five
'blank' copies.
Brunette, by the way!!

SIX
A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to
take her kid to the emergency room, the kid had eaten ants. The
dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and he should be
fine, the mother says, 'I just gave him some ant killer..'
Dispatcher: 'Rush him in to emergency!'

Ultimately, stopping and starting the services cleared up the problem. We
still don't have an explanation as to why the problem happened in the first
place, but we couldn't continue on any longer under those circumstances.

BTW, we were able to determine that it was the app server (as opposed to the db
server) by activating our failover server (which was pointing to the same db)
and we were able to import forms, etc. successfully. We knew it wasn't the db.
So, bit the bullet and restarted the app server.

I would identify a filter, active link, and form on each server where they
both have the same timestamp for last updated (they are both the same from

not try this..

Have you tried exporting it in a different format? Instead of a regular def

Hi Lisa - I have indeed seen this error. It has occurred several times on our
development servers (ARS 6.3 patch 24), but I've never been able to determine
the root cause of the problem. My only solution is to restart the Remedy
application. This seems to clear the error and you are then able to import
definition files without error.
Given that this is a production system, this may be unpalatable, but this is
the only solution I have found!

We are having a really bizarre issue with importing any form, active link,
filter or escalation from our Development Server to our Production Server.
Both are at the same version (ARS 7.1 P7). Both DB's are at the same version
Oracle 10g. And both servers are Windows 2003 boxes. We try to take great
care in keeping both boxes exactly the same.
I tried a simple form with a menu, a filter, and an active link. They wouldn't
load. It generated the following errors.
The file specified for a character menu does not hold a character menu
definition: (ARERR 414)
The file specified for an active link does not hold an active link definition:
(ARERR 413)
I tried the menu alone. It errored.
When I tried to just import the form I would get:
The following item was not imported: Junk (ARERR 55)
The file specified for a character menu does not hold a character menu
definition: (ARERR 414)
The file specified for an active link does not hold an active link definition:
(ARERR 413)
Has anyone ever seen this issue before?
When I export from Dev and import back into Dev, it's fine. As of yesterday
morning, when I exported from Prod and imported back into Prod, everything is
fine. It's when I try to export from Dev into Prod.

Is it just me, or are any of you having problems with the new ARS 7.5
monolithic installer? It is an all or nothing kind of approach that makes
upgrades and repairs a lot more hazardous and unreliable since you can no
longer work on just the one problem service (AREmail is the primary culprit
here) without running an install against the entire ARS system. In 7.1 and
earlier we have always had trouble with the AREmail module - it is one of the
services that seldom upgraded correctly, usually losing its ability to connect
to MAPI properly and requiring you to uninstall it, wipe all traces of it from
the file system and registry, and reinstall it. I haven't figured out any way
to do that with the monolithic suite installer without "touching" the entire
installation. Someone somewhere must have thought that a single suite
installer would be simpler to work with, but in practice it makes a nightmare
out of troubleshooting and reinstalling a particular problem service (and
AREMail after 4.x has always been a "problem" service - witness the open issue
I have had with our production AREmail system crashing on 7.1 since June 2008,
still unresolved). It also means that any run of the installer takes WAY
longer since you have to go through every dialog even though 90% are irrelevant
to what you want to do, and reenter passwords all along the way for things you
didn't need to work on, or now they will STOP working. The suite installer
might make sense for a new install of a fresh system - ONCE. After that, you
still need individual service uninstall-reinstall capability.

Part of my frustration is from trying to troubleshoot two 7.5 systems, one
upgraded from 7.1 and one a fresh install, neither of which can successfully
run the AREmail service and send out mail.

The same complaint applies when working on a web server, but you are generally
in a more limited environment with only mid-tier and flashboards installed.
Upgrading the 7.x mid-tier by installer historically trashes your integration
to crystal reports, making it necessary to uninstall it and install a fresh
instance in order to get it working again. The monolithic installer gets in
the way here too, just not as much (and not as high-risk) because only mid-tier
and flashboards are typically on the web server.

BTW, the 7.5 installer still prompts for account, password, and domain for
Email like it always did (5.x, 6.x, 7.0, 7.1), but no longer concatenates
domain\account to use when creating the Remedy Email Engine service (so it
fails to do so in our environment). You have to enter the account in the form
domain\account in order for the service to get installed - the field for domain
is now ignored by the installer. I have reported it as a new 7.5-specific
defect.

Re: japanese characters and showing

2009-03-27 Thread Schryver, Curt
We are running 7.0.01 patch 003. We were having similar issues a little over a
year ago and settled on this patch. I don't recall if we saw the issues on the
inbound e-mail, but definitely on the outbound.

Eventually, I did a side-by-side comparison of our Dev server (where we weren't
having the issues) and our Prod server. There were a bunch of language related
DLLs on Dev that weren't on Prod. Note: They were documented as not having
anything to do with the issues we were having, but I was getting desperate so
copied them all over to Prod. I don't have an exact list of them at my
fingertips, but will post them here if/when I find them.

Our problems did go away - can't guarantee that it was from this action.

Hope something here helps...

In our case we have 7.0.1 installed on Oracle. The email engine is sending our

However if memory servers me correctly, we did have to update the version of

Re: Need Help with syntax for Runmacro from escalation, works from dos cmd

2009-02-06 Thread Schryver, Curt
Manjari,

I am running a macro via an escalation but my command syntax is a little
different from yours. First off, I don't use the -h (home directory), instead
I'm using the -d (macro directory). Also, I have the directory enclosed in
double quotes. And, the path I'm using definitely doesn't have any security on
it. All Users shouldn't, but you never know. I'm using C:\Program Files\AR
System\Macros (on the server, of course).

Another difference is that I'm using the -e to provide the name of the macro as
opposed to the -i, not sure how they differ. Manual doesn't explain, so it's
probably nothing.

Good luck and hope something here might help.

One year, too broke to get my dad the drill press he really wanted, I
bought my dad about 40 pair of underwear (this was about 15 years ago).

Needless to say, he was underwhelmed, but he has gotten a great deal of

I actually tried to get dirt for Christmas. My wife balked though.

We have a new house, and the builder had scraped away most of the top
soil on my 1 acre plot to build a sturdy foundation. He had hauled in
dirt, but unfortunately, we had quite a lot of rain this year, and all
of it washed away before I could get some sod on it. So, now, I'm left
with a clay yard, and no dirt for my garden/grass.

I will basically say, to all women out there, get the man what he asks
for.
Usually I ask for gift cards, but my family thinks that's too
impersonal, so I get socks :)

Gifts for Men

Christmas is just around the corner so it's time for me to share some
gift ideas for those special men in your life! Buying gifts for men is
not nearly as complicated as it is for women. Follow these rules and you
should have no problems.

Rule #1:
When in doubt - buy him a cordless drill. It does not matter if he
already has one. I have a friend who owns 17 and he has yet to complain.
As a man, you can never have too many cordless drills. For that matter
any power tool is a good choice. He may not need it, or know what it
does, but it will look good hung on the peg board in the garage.

Rule #2:
If you cannot afford a cordless drill, buy him anything with the word
ratchet or socket in it. Men love saying those two words. "Hey George,
can I borrow your ratchet?" "OK. Bye-the-way, are you through with my
3/8-inch socket yet?"

Rule #3:
If you are really, really broke, buy him anything for his car. A 99-cent
ice scraper, a small bottle of deicer or something to hang from his rear
view mirror. Men love gifts for their cars.

Rule #4:
Do not buy men socks. Do not buy men ties and never buy men bathrobes.
If God had wanted men to wear bathrobes, he wouldn't have invented
Jockey shorts.

Rule #5:
You can buy men new remote controls to replace the ones they have worn
out.
If you have a lot of money buy your man a big-screen TV with the little
picture in the corner. Watch him go wild as he flips, and flips, and
flips.

Rule #6:
Do not buy a man any of those fancy liqueurs. If you do, it will sit in
a cupboard for 23 years. Real men drink whiskey or beer.

Rule #7:
Do not buy any man industrial-sized canisters of after shave or
deodorant.

I've used this in the past to control the contents of what I put into
the View Field, but what about controlling the View Field itself? The
CSS references I mention below allow you to control things like margins,
colors, etc. of the control itself.

Also, if I create a CSS file called viewfield.css, where do I put it on
the server so it can be referenced by simply typing the name of the file
in the Field Properties dialog box?

Thanks again.

We have a form with several views used globally to submit trouble
tickets via the Mid Tier as a Guest user. Basically, any employee could
visit the page. In the past, we'd experienced some Caught Exception
errors when the page would load; flushing the MT cache seemed to be one
of the fixes, although we never nailed it down 100%.

In the past few days, we started getting calls about several of the
views (Hungary, France, Germany, etc.) receiving the error. We would
check the web page ourselves and maybe see the error, maybe not. Some
of those reporting the problems were doing a little investigating on
their own and found that removing the Microsoft KB943460 patch cleared
up the problem (putting it back on would re-create the problem). Some
have Windows 2000, some XP. Some have Internet Explorer 6, some have 7.
One site reported consistent problems with the patch, IE6, and WinXP. I
have the same set up and am not currently having the problem. We've
even changed our alias and pointed our Dev MT server to the Prod forms
and are getting the same problem, so the actual MT server isn't to
blame. Is anyone out there experiencing some odd behavior that you
think might relate to our situation? I figure that if the MS patch was
the culprit, there'd be lots of screaming on the List, but I'm not
seeing that, either.

Any ideas, insights, suggestions, or winning lottery numbers would be
appreciated.

You can do it, but you must understand that this method will write the
file to the user's machine. The format I'm using is:

Good luck.

BTW, I'm tinkering with Escalations to see if I can write the file to

Hello

I would like to use an active link runprocess to write data to a text
file.
I have tried this sort of thing:

'echo $MyRemedyField$ >> C:\mytextfile.txt'

(and yes realise will have to use different path for a real system)

But I keep getting the error: The system cannot find the file specified.

And I am ensuring the file exists.

Can anyone help. I basically want to write some text in a Remedy form
text
field out to a text file on a user clicking a button.

Here is what we discovered in our testing during the install of
Remedy User Tool 7.0.01 Patch 002

User 1 installs the tool and the HOME folder does default to
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\AR System\HOME. It
creates the folder for storing macros and saved searches called arcmds.

User 2 logs in to Remedy on that same PC. A message pops up
from Remedy saying the HOME folder does not exist and asks if user 2
wants to create it. The message states it will be created at
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\AR System\HOME.
User 2 clicks "Yes". The HOME folder is created at the specifies
location but it does not create the arcmds folder.

We reported this as a bug (SW00255608) and Remedy accepted it as
a bug but even after explaining the problem no less than 5 times via
email and by phone, the tech support rep logged the problem with an
inaccurate description. It was then closed saying it was corrected. I
am going to submit it again as a bug today.

Good afternoon. Hope this note finds you all well.

I'm working on putting together the specifications for
installing the above software via SMS. We will be creating a silent
installation package. When I perform a default installation (including
paths), the setup wants to place the Home folder under my %USERPROFILE%.
We like this concept as we would want different people logging onto a PC
to have their own Home folders (macros, etc.) However, this path is
hard-coded in the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive so it will
be used for everyone who logs onto the PC. In our environment, most
customers do not have administrator rights on their PCs. When they log
onto a PC that was 'set up' for someone else, they won't have any rights
to the Home folder as it is under someone else's profile. They are
offered the ability to create some folders (via a very confusing error
message). If they do that, they don't have any of the server settings,
etc. that were defined during the installation process. I 'worked' with
BMC and their answer was, you guessed it, "it is functioning as
intended." To eliminate the error, they suggest placing the Home folder
in a location where everyone can get to it. We've done this in the past
with previous versions and it works, but we ran into situations where
people were seeing/changing/deleting other users' macros, etc.

Has anyone run into this and come up with a workable solution?
We're toying around with installing and copying files to all existing
profiles including the default profile so future logons would also get
the 'stuff.' But, this can be messy and we shouldn't have to do it!

Thanks in advance!

their own Home folders (macros, etc.) However, this path is hard-coded
in the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive so it will be used for
everyone who logs onto the PC. In our environment, most customers do
not have administrator rights on their PCs. When they log onto a PC
that was 'set up' for someone else, they won't have any rights to the
Home folder as it is under someone else's profile. They are offered the
ability to create some folders (via a very confusing error message). If
they do that, they don't have any of the server settings, etc. that were
defined during the installation process. I 'worked' with BMC and their
answer was, you guessed it, "it is functioning as intended." To
eliminate the error, they suggest placing the Home folder in a location
where everyone can get to it. We've done this in the past with previous
versions and it works, but we ran into situations where people were
seeing/changing/deleting other users' macros, etc.

Has anyone run into this and come up with a workable solution? We're
toying around with installing and copying files to all existing profiles
including the default profile so future logons would also get the
'stuff.' But, this can be messy and we shouldn't have to do it!

Thanks in advance!

Installing BMC Remedy User 7.0.01 patch 002 on one PC for use by several people

2007-05-01 Thread Schryver, Curt
Good afternoon. Hope this note finds you all well.

I'm working on putting together the specifications for installing the
above software via SMS. We will be creating a silent installation
package. When I perform a default installation (including paths), the
setup wants to place the Home folder under my %USERPROFILE%. We like
this concept as we would want different people logging onto a PC to have
their own Home folders (macros, etc.) However, this path is hard-coded
in the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive so it will be used for
everyone who logs onto the PC. In our environment, most customers do

the colon is the only delimiting character.

Subject: Admin Tool - the prefix tab

**
The Prefix tab is a nice idea, but it seems like it doesn't work unless
your workflow delimits prefixes with colons (:)

If your workflow naming convention uses another prefix delimiter, or
none at all, or you inherited older workflow, the prefix tab doesn't
much work for you. One ends up having to use the View...By Form...
option and specify the prefix there, which is tedious.

Is there a way to specify the prefix delimiter character, or specify the
number of characters to use as a prefix? Or do I have to go rename all
my workflow?!?

Radio button field - obtaining the Selection Value

2007-02-27 Thread Schryver, Curt
Good morning all. Sorry, but I have a newbie question.

I have a form with a radio button field. I've added a half dozen
attributes where the Selection Value doesn't exactly match the Alias
Value. When the field is clicked, I have an Active Link that I want to
tell me the Selection Value, but I keep getting the Alias. Ideas or
suggestions?

Thanks,
  Curt
