Terri,

Not sure if that is the answer, but we have the same errors each time we have
too long of a delay to our connections with our Exchange server.
It goes away when we restart the email engine once the Exchange server comes
back from the LaLa Land.
We are still trying to get a true answer on that one too. So if you get
one..please do share.

Blank Body in AR System Email Messages form

2015-09-02 Thread Terri Lockwood
I am hoping someone has had this same issue and can help me. I do already have
a ticket with BMC as well.

When our customers send an email to our email address it comes into the mailbox
complete and I can see it. However, when it gets pushed to the AR System Email
Messages form the "Plain Text Body" field is blank. It, therefore, gets pushed
into the ticket with a blank body as well. BMC is looking at our logs but I
was hoping someone has seen this and maybe can provide a solution.

2015-09-02 Thread Terri Lockwood
Thank you John. Both the Plain Text Body and HTML Body fields are blank in the
AR System Email Messages form. Under Advanced Options/Attachment Alternatives
I do see the .eml file but again it is blank as well. I forgot to mention that
this is an intermittent issue...doesn't happen all the time so logging is tough
as well. Troubleshooting continues.

Terri,
I've seen this and the message body usually ends up in the HTML Body tab on the
AR System Email form.
Also, in the advanced options tab there are three more tabs. The Attachment
Alternatives has an Attachment Pool and one of the attachments is almost always
a an email file.
So the data are there you may need to change workflow to retrieve it into the
ticket.

Maybe there's a way to force your email inbox to only accept ( or convert to)
plain text.
Thank you,

The conference is less than a month away, and I haven't seen much in the way of
folks saying they will be there?

For those that are on the ARSlist I will have the ARSlist buttons and hats
there this year. Hats are limited.

Not sure when or how they will be given out and this will be the last time I
bring them along, so be there and get your limited edition memorabilia.

I thought the content looked much improved over last year and I am looking
forward to catching more sessions than I have even been to before.

(granted, in my case getting to 5 sessions would be a record, seems to take a
long time to get from one room to the next when there are 10 people to talk to
in between, best reason to be there though!)

Re: BMC.CORE:BMC_BaseElement field 112 changes

2015-08-10 Thread Terri Lockwood
Thank you so much Kevin! This is our current system but we've built out a new
8.1 system so this will be an issue there as well. 4000 sounds like a good
size as we are gonna exceed the 255 size on all services in the near future.
Thank you for your answer.

Terri

I have ran into this issue before because we needed 100s of companies to have
access to the Business Services.

BMC Support recommended we increase the size to 4000 which we did. You also
have to make sure you update all association forms, i.e. HPD:Association,
CHG:Association, PBM:Association, etc.

This all worked fine and dandy until it was time to apply a Service Pack.

When we moved from 7.6.04 no service pack to 7.6.04 SP4 the CMDB installer kept
failing and it took us weeks on the phone with Support troubleshooting the
issue.

It's been a couple years but if my memory serves me correctly I think I did the
following.

1. Make a backup arx of the data in Field 112

2. Change the field length back to 255 on Field 112, which truncated the
data

3. Run the SP4 CMDB installer

4. Increase the field back to 4000

5. Import the backup data I made in step 1 back into Field 112

We have replicated the issue in 8.1 and have been told it is a known limitation.

HTH

That’s great if you are single tenant but for those of us who are VERY

development system with version 8.1.01. I’m trying to pull company records and
have tried both from AR User and from MidTier. I can pull 2412 records from
both but when I make a report on the web it is only showing 2000 records.
(Report from User tool reports on all 5000) I went into the System Admin
console and found that under the Configuration tab the “Max Entries Returned By
GetList” was set to 2000. I have changed it to 5000 and saved it. I cleared
both browser and server cache but it will still only return 2000 records using
the web. I then restarted both the app and midtier server. Sill the same.
Where am I missing another setting? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Terri,

Based on what is recommended I believe that is correct. I didn't have a
separate server for SSO so I put it on the same ARS Server for our upgrade
staging environment.

Thanks,

Web Service ?

2014-11-21 Thread Terri Lockwood
Have set up my new 8.1 app and web servers and now trying to configure web
services to work. The first one I'm trying is
HPD_IncidentInterface_Create_WS. On the form AR System Web Services Registry I
have searched for all web services as our documentation states. I am inputting
the WSDL URL and the Build End Point URL. When I try to save the record I get
the following error: Invalid URL::java.net.MalformedURLException (ARERR 9135)

When I separately run the Build WSDL URL it works, but the Build End Point URL
gives me the following:
ARService
Hi there, this is an AXIS service!
Perhaps there will be a form for invoking the service here...

What am I doing wrong?

Just a reminder for all of you who are already registered and coming but are
too busy to keep track of your
calendars - yeah like there is anyone in that camp. Those of you who are
registered probably already have
your bags packed and are ½ way out the door already.

For those who have not registered, there is still the opportunity to attend
this event. We are expecting
more than four times the number of customers to join us in Orlando as were able
to join us last year. So,
lots of opportunity to interact with others who are working on the same things
as you are.

And, some new and exciting new initiatives will be talked about at the event
and you can have a front row
seat to the discussions and the opportunity to have conversations and offer
input to the people who are
driving the initiatives.

If you are coming - I will see you there. If you are still thinking - time is
REALLY SHORT so decided yes now
and join us. If you are not able to attend, keep an eye out for ways to
participate in some aspects of the
event from home.

Am an FTE and have been since ARS 3.0. Only time contracting was as
prerequisite to full time job which was for 3 months but turned into a year and
half due to hiring freeze.

Subject: OT: Contract vs FTE

I'm curious at the shift as of 2014.

This thread question is targeted at developers/architects. To clarify, let's
make the definition that you either customize at the object level or you
develop integrations at the AIE/API/XML levels AND you've been doing that for
at least 2 years.

If you fall into that bucket, please reply to the following question...

How many of you work as Full Time Employees vs. those who go from contract to
contract in 2014?

Follow-up: If you're contract, is it by choice or by market forces?

I feel the % is shifting more heavily to contract than even the usual majority
in the past. Are FTE's an extinct breed in 2014?

Thanks in advanced for replies from the target audience...

SAML Integration

2014-08-05 Thread Terri Lockwood
Does anyone know if it's possible to do a SAML integration with ARS/ITSM? We
use LDAP for internal customers but trying to find a way to give external
customers a single sign on with several of our systems. I am doing my research
and hoped someone else has already tried this.

Thank you!

ARERR 8755 on new 8.1.01 MidTier Install

2014-07-31 Thread Terri Lockwood
I'm installing MidTier on a Windows server and the installation is fine with no
errors. However when I log in I get the following error:

[cid:image003.jpg@01CFACF0.4BBEAEB0]

The error happens after I log in. I can click OK and continue working. It
doesn't tell me which plug-in I'm missing. I've been working with BMC and the
tech has turned it over to another team who of course wants all of the files
again. I'm hoping someone else has run into this and can help.

Thank you,

Report from multiple forms

2014-01-17 Thread Terri Lockwood
I need to run a report for all open tickets for the past 24 hours. This will
include SRM requests, incidents, changes, work orders, and problem tickets. Is
there a backend form that I could report off of or should I create a join for
reporting for all of them? Trying not to do multiple reports if I can help
from it. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

2014-01-15 Thread Terri Lockwood
I suppose that's supposed to make me feel better Shawn. Texans have knocked us
out of many playoffs games so still respect. Nevertheless, my Jaguars ARE
going to the Super Bowl..they are buying tickets just like everyone else
though :) Have a great day!

Didn't Jacksonville win two games more than the Texans this year (including
defeating the Texans twice?)

In any case, I propose we go straight from discussing sports to religion,
politics, and mobile OS preferences now.

Thanks,
