I'm having an issue with the UT similar to what Mary reported with the Admin

Other than that, we're still testing it all out.

Good luck!

Mary,

Try reinstalling the arserver with the one that was published on 8/30 (last
Thursday). We went through the same experience in our development
environment. Installing the "latest" AR Server 7.0.1 Patch004 resolved it.

Good luck,

So, the answer to making an "enhanced" tool functional is to take away the
only means provided to make sense of the applications that run on that
tool. Yeah, that makes sense. Isn't the point of a patch to make things
better?

2007-09-05 Thread Davies, J.T.
I encountered this problem too. It seems to originate from the Sync
Search DB functionality.

BMC Support says to delete the object* forms (and not set up the sync
search db). That fixed my problems without reinstalling.

I haven't tried to see if the "fixed" P004 allows it to run successfully
again...I'll try it, though.

Re: ARS 7.01 -P4

2007-09-04 Thread Mary_Estrada
Hi,

We installed ARS 7.0.1 P 4 on our dev env yesterday. The installation went
well w/o errors. HOWEVER, we found a big issue, the Admin tool (P 4)
crashes everytime
we open the field properties on any form, any field. Submitted a service
request with BMC support today and have not heard anything back yet.

Any one else experienced the same issue?

Thanks,

~Mary

2007-08-24 Thread patrick zandi
Not trying to bark too much here..
Have not confirmed this either.. however something to check out..

If you install ARSERVER fresh - and install mid-tier, and then approval
server..
>From what I can tell it Wipes out the Demo account.
I found in the arcache the demo account -- with an encrypted password -- it
was blank password
I found in the user form - no accounts
-- Hence you cannot login..
If you C:\Program Files\AR System>arcache -Ua -n "TempAdmin" -p "TempAdmin"
-e "000
0009" -lw 1 -g "1" -s hd
-- you can only login as a guest user, not as an admin.

Very Strange -- not sure where to go from here on this one..
Starting over..

I put it on another server -- win 2003 sp2
but the db is on another system -- two different clients(systems) -- both
ars 7.01 p4.
Still have not seen that one.. FYI .. and the audience too.
P4 is suppose to be ARSSSO compliant as well -- will be testing soon. day
to two..

I just installed the latest 7.0.1 patch on Win 2003 and it went in without a

haven't any feedback about how it functions.

I think I found a big bug -- still testing.. tomorrow ;-)
issue is the Accounts, after the install
you cannot change it even as admin in either the UT or AT..
---
I did this on 2 different boxes.. seeing same error..
you cannot change the servers you connect to.

Anyone else getting that ?

Had to have them put Migrator on a separate ftp site to successfully
download it. Installed it and it did not resolve the issue.

Even though I was getting error 2004 (thread issue), in actuality the active
links were migrated successfully anyway. Go figure !

2007-08-22 Thread Rick Cook
I didn't have any problem downloading any part of p4 - just finished it, in
fact. I do question why one would need to use P4 of Migrator, since it only
resolves one issue - and a fairly arcane one at that.

I got the installers downloaded (Win 2K3 SP2, SQL 2000 SP4) and I
_just_ got it installed on one of my dev boxes. Using a patch 4 admin
tool, so far any form I open with a table field crashes the admin tool
if you try and look at the field properties of the table itself.

Lucky for me, I'm not planning on moving to patch 4 anytime soon
(haven't even got my 6.3 to 7.0.1 upgrade done yet!).
