[AsburyPark] Re: PEE WEE
Very aptly said. This is all, if not most of the grievances I have, in a country that espouses, Liberty and Justice, For All, when nothing could be further from the truth! A country, so steeped in racism, that it just rolls off their tongue, naturally! I remember, when Nixon said, I Am Not A Crook! I knew he meant it literaly, but figuratively, he was! He stole, not money or goods, but the integrity of the American Spirit, using his Winning By Any Means Necessary, ideology, by spying on his enemies; his enemies being the American People, who he thought were too stupid to understand, what was really happening! The murder and assassination of JFK, soured me forever, that this was a country of laws. What are laws? They are meant to bring justice to those wronged by physical, mental and mismanaged force upon any citizen of these United States, by anyone committing an offense against another or a group. My understanding. Justice should be swift and undenied! There are those in this group, who proclaim, to not have a racist bone in their body, when if they play themselves back, would note the hypocrisy, they're denying. ALL of us harbor some racist views. It's called survival of the fittest! Those who have always been entitled, feel threatened, whenever another group, threatens, whether they will be denied that, which they've always enjoyed, whether it be a job, a school, a home, where the address is for the priviledged or a certain status in life. It all dates back to Europe, where monarchies reigned and if you were a part of the ruling class, you'd lie, steal or kill, to ensure your status! Isn't that what it's all about today? You are what you drive! You are, what you eat! How much money you make, where you live, how you live and who you dare associate with? If you're not at least a Christian, you're going to hell! That anything less, like a Bhuddist or Muslim, don't matter, doesn't count? Heaven forbid, if you're one of them Mormons! Ask Mitt Romney or JFK, a Catholic, in 1960! History repeats itself, over and over, again! The secrecy in this regime, the governments edict, that we don't NEED to know anything, except what THEY dictate, to a public, asleep at the wheel, because Government wants to nanny-sit, every aspect of our public and personal lives, by tracking everything we do, even this internet note, I'm writing now, to see who is on THEIR side and if not, subject to arrest, torture and possibly disappeared, by the Republicans and the Democrats, who are in bed together, to keep THEIR status, intact! All I have to say, is we had better wake up, before these new Nazis, shred our Constitution, which they already ignore and institute martial law, divide and separate anyone who is not toting the party line. This happened in 1933, to the German, Polish and Austrian people, when Hitler, virtually suspended and took over thier governments! The Bushes are originally from Germany and changed Busch to Bush. It's all online for now, but for how long? George W. Bush, tries to portray himself, as an old cowhand, but read where he was born, where he went to school, the affluence of his grandfather Prescott Bush, their relationship to the oil barons of Saudi Arabia and their relationship to the Bin Laden family, before 9-11. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to Osama, no time soon! We have sattelites that can read the numbers, on a license plate. You and I both know, they know, where Osama Bin Laden is and they're making sure, no harm comes, to him. Bush is tracking our phone calls, cell phones, EZ Passes and emails from Yahoo, MSN and Google. There are actions afoot, to track your debit, credit card transactions and other computer driven actions, that can be requested at will, bypassing FISA and any other agrencies, supposedly set up to thwart their efforts. Scary? It's already happening, with cameras surveilling your every move in Manhatten, supposedly to offset a terror attack! Where surveillance is needed, it's going begging, at the ports and the airports, that the Keystone Kops TSA, misses! Our local law enforcement officers all dress like para-military, designed to beat us back, from demonstrating in the streets, from lessons learned in the 60's! They taser anyone and have, for the least little infraction, such as the man who didn't speak English, was tasered to death, recently. He was Polish and couldn't understand English, had traveled to America, for the first time and had missed his mother's pickup of him, so now he's dead and his mother demands to know why! Blacks and Whites, are engaging each other in coalition, not for the first time, but because, we're ALL in this, together and all we want is Peace! Where did all the technical jobs, go? India, China and Ireland! Why? Cheap labor! Why are all of our kids, pets and ourselves in jeopardy, from illness? Lead paint in toys, plastic in our pet foods and biogenetic food, on our shelves, by

Hedwig, pre-Fishman, was drawing 300-400 per performance. Independent film premiers sold out the theatre pre-Fishman. Once Fishman took over, and we were denied access to the building, things went downhill fast. That this is way it is with Fishman is no excuse. Fishman had to see that the passion of the people to restore the Baronet was overwhelming, but why would he care what the people who live work and recreate in AP want. Sadly, the 100 grand we sunk into The Baronet goes to waste and Fishman will one day get his way and knock down a truly historic and a damned beautiful little theatre. [AsburyPark] Men's Journal
In the recent issue of Men's Journal, there is an article how young people are actually buyer second/weekend homes before they buy primary residences. The rationale is that they typically live and rent in an expensive urban area and are able to build equity by buying a weekend home nearby but in a typically less expensive market. They then listed two alternative markets for 3 major cities, NYC, Chicago and LA. The two alternatives for NYC were Mount Pocono PA and Asbury Park NJ. The picture for AP was very flattering from Sunset Lake. The word is getting around. Yahoo! [AsburyPark] My Idea for Next Winter in AP - Bradley/Atlantic Square
November 19, 2007, 1:09 pm Holiday Business in Bryant Park, Once Cold as Ice, Heats Up By Jennifer 8. Lee ice skating BryantA third season of ice skating on the Pond at Bryant Park opened on Oct. 29. (Photo: Marilynn K. Yee/The New York Times) Over the last five years, the holiday market at Bryant Park has been transformed from being a static and tepid street fair to a bustling showcase of plexiglass booths with $5 million to $6 million in total retail sales for its vendors. But in the early days, the market struggled to fill up the slots with mass mailings, recruiting at street fairs, and persuading skeptical retailers to open a second location in Bryant Park for the holidays. This year, the market, which opened on Saturday and will run for six weeks, had 300 applications for the 100 or so booths, which cost from $9,000 to $40,000 to rent. Vendors which generally sell high-end crafts, jewelry and clothing now do an average of $60,000 to $70,000 in sales, with a handful breaking $100,000. The top vendor clears $300,000 in merchandise during the period. Those numbers breed competition. Almost all of the vendors from last year wanted to return, but the market only accepted about two-thirds of them through a newly competitive selection process, according to Frank DiPrisco, the executive director. The problem in the early days was that Bryant Park was competing with a number of other markets in the city Union Square holiday market, the Grand Central Terminal holiday bazaar. It also did not help that the blocks around Bryant Park were not particularly heavy with retail outlets. Mr. DiPrisco noted that 2002 and 2003 were definitely struggling years. So what was done to drive traffic during the holidays? They opened a free skating rink in 2005 with the Bryant Park Corporation. With corporate sponsorship to cover the $4 million costs, the rink was able to charge only for skate rentals while making admission free, unlike Wollman Rink in Central Park and the rink at Rockefeller Center, where fees are charged to use the ice. Free skating in turn has drawn a lot of free publicity (Are we falling for it again? Well, we like to skate.) There was so much excitement, Mr. DiPrisco said. There was a huge surge of traffic for the park. Suddenly, the shops, which were attracting mostly tourists, were also drawing residents and commuters within a 50-mile radius. Even businessmen in suits can be spotted lacing up their skates and going for a spin on the ice. It remains to be seen if unseasonably warm weather will affect skating traffic though some flakes were spotted in Midtown this morning, with more decent amounts of snow farther west and north of the city. [AsburyPark] Seventh Avenue Fire, Update
Condo fire called an accident Investigators: Electrical light fixture might have been source By ED JOHNSON STAFF WRITER December 7, 2007 ASBURY PARK The fire that destroyed the Shore Condominium apartments at 406 Seventh Ave. has been ruled an accident, investigators said Thursday. Investigators from both the city and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office believe an energized electrical light fixture, similar to a deck light, on the second floor in the rear of the building may have been the source of the fire, Asbury Park Fire Inspector Garrett M. Giberson said. We're also looking at a couple of other possibilities, he said. If the light fixture is determined to be the cause, it would match accounts given Wednesday by the building's nine tenants, who reported seeing flames shooting from the rear of the building and especially heavy fire on the second floor of the three-story wood- frame structure. Two of those residents leaped from the second-floor window to an outside staircase as the fire intensified. All of the tenants escaped unscathed. The only injury was to a firefighter, who was treated at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and released, officials said. The rear of the building sustained the most extensive damage, fueling flames that shot through the building and also destroyed its roof. The building has been determined to be unsafe and will have to be torn down, Giberson said. Four of its nine residents have been placed in area hotels by the Red Cross, the remaining five have moved in with friends or relatives, the Red Cross said. The fire victims were also given emergency funds for food and clothing by the Red Cross, officials said. The Shore Condominium residents had only moved into their apartments in August. The renovated building had been intended for sale as condominiums, said Robert McDonald, who had been commissioned to sell the units. A sign in front of the building listed the asking price as $169,000 per unit. City tax records show the property was bought by Rave Property LLC of Asbury Park on April 29, 2005, for $875,000. Rod Siberine is an owner. He could not be reached for comment. Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Need Housemate in Asbury Park starting Jan 1
I am a 36 year old female and am looking for a roomate preferrably older, to share a full house in Asbury Park. The house is conveniently located near the train station, downtown, and 10 minute walking distance from the gay beach section. The two floor house has a porch, backyard, and laundry room in basement. All storage will be kept in the garage. No pets allowed since I have a children-friendly dog (who was rescued from the pound). The rent is $600 per month and half of all utilities including water, electricity and gas is shared. A month's security plus first month's rent must accompany the start of the move on January 1.
