Re: [asterisk-users] Zaptel problem with pots lines

2008-07-15 Thread Marco Signorini
Hi Tzafrir,
you're right. I think I've completely misunderstood the problem.

If the problem is that asterisk is not able to write in the CDR the
proper line answer status, I can confirm that even my installations
behave the same.
Sorry Enrico for my fault and thank you to Tzafrir for the correction.

Best regards,
Marco Signorini.

AFAIK chan_zap can only detect answer if it is provided through a
polarity reversal.

Re: [asterisk-users] Zaptel problem with pots lines

2008-07-15 Thread Marco Signorini
Hi Enrico.

I'm quite sure that the differences you have in the zapata.conf doesn't
have any effect on the problem.
If I'm not wrong:
"language=it" tells asterisk to use the italian sounds (if available)
for any calls related to this zap channel;
"rxgain = 0.0" is related only to perceived audio gain
"jbenable = no" is forcing the jitter buffer off for this zap channel.

Let us know if you have problems with zaptel-1.4.6. I can assure that
with this version and this configuration more than one installation with
TDM400P I'm responsible for is working fine (since 1.4.6 came out).

Could be that the problem is related to Asterisk 1.6? Unfortunately I
never had the possibility to try this new version.

Best regards,
Marco Signorini.

I'm already using busydetect=yes to detect hangup and busy conditions
with good results, but it doesn't seem to be of any help on detecting

Unfortunatly i already tried both loop start and ground start without
any luck... after googling around for a while it seems clear that the
right signalling to use here in Italy is ks.

Hi Enrico.
In Italy the polarity reversal is never used.
I'm using the TDM400 with an FXO port in Italy with the config reported
below and is working properly in any situations:

--- zaptel.conf ---
fxsks=1
loadzone=it
defaultzone=it

--- zapata.conf ---
[channels]
language=en
context=from-tdm-fxo
signalling=fxs_ks
threewaycalling=yes
transfer=yes
canpark=yes
cancallforward=yes
callreturn=yes
busydetect=yes
busycount=6
usecallerid=yes
callerid=asreceived
echocancel=yes
echocancelwhenbridged=no
relaxdtmf=yes
rxgain=3.0
txgain=0.0
amaflags=billing
group=1
callgroup=1
pickupgroup=1
jbenable=yes
faxdetect=no

channel => 1

I'm using zaptel-1.4.6 and asterisk-1.4.20.1.

I hope this could help you.

[asterisk-users] Zaptel problem with pots lines

2008-07-14 Thread Enrico Maistro
Hi,

I'm trying to get up and running a TDM400 with a standard italian pots
line but i'm having
 problems at getting asterisk to detect when the line get answered on
outgoing calls.

I'm using asterisk 1.6 beta 9 with zaptel 1.4.11.

I tried with and without answeronpolarityswitch=yes but it didn't change
anything at all.

With callprogress=yes answer get never detected.
With callprogress=no line get answered as soon as it start ringing,
regardless if someone
really answer the call.

Zaptel channels use fxs_ks signalling .

Loading wctdm module with debug=1 result in:

kernel: Freshmaker version: 73
kernel: Freshmaker passed register test
kernel: ProSLIC on module 0, product 3, version 15
kernel: VoiceDAA System: 04

Any suggestion?
Am i trying to do something that simply can't be done?

The problem is here. Defective card? PCI-level problems?

An example of PCI-level issues is the following "magic" that worked
for me with several cards with some computers (at least with some
specific kernels) - adding the boot parameter 'pci=noacpi' to the kernel
command-line.

I assume that the second line is the X100P card.

oops.

With one minor difference: the patch that went into trunk included an
extra break that prevented polarity reversal events from falling through
to the ZT_EVENT_REMOVED .

In short: not a problem with trunk, only with my package. I'll upload fixed
packages shortly.

After some further digging:

it turns out that when there' a problem, the output of the above command
is actually:

that is: channel 3 has been destroyed.

The logs show:

Apr 30 14:50:53 DEBUG[6003] chan_zap.c: Message status for 401 changed from -1
to 0 on 1
Apr 30 14:51:00 NOTICE[6003] chan_zap.c: Got ZT_EVENT_REMOVED. Destroying
channel 3
Apr 30 14:51:16 DEBUG[6004] chan_sip.c: Stopping retransmission on [snipped by
Tzafrir]

This seems to happen when you disconnect an incoming FXO call.

ZT_EVENT_REMOVED is defined to be 20 . That package includes a patch
that has been applied to trunk in rev 58321.

Anybody encountered this in Asterisk/trunk with a wctdm card with an FXO
module?

set verbose 3?

Call from where? To where?

From PSTN to Asterisk and viceversa

Do you see the relevant channel as offhook in 'zap show channel N' ?

I'm not able to to see the channel anymore.

voip*CLI> zap show channel 3
Unable to find given channel 3

I found that this error happens every time i receive an inbound call:
Apr 30 15:08:39 NOTICE[6003] chan_zap.c: Got ZT_EVENT_REMOVED.
Destroying channel 3

Sanity check:

  asterisk -rx 'show channels'

voip*CLI> show channels
Channel  Location State   Application(Data)
0 active channels
0 active calls

voip*CLI> zap show channels
  Chan Extension  Context Language   MusicOnHold
pseudofrom-internal   es
 1from-internal   es
 2from-internal   es
 4from-zaptel es

(hmm... asterisk -n -rx 'show channels'hangs for you as well?)

ehci_hcd:usb4 does normally take all the USB interrupts. However this
issue is probably not related to missed interrupts , if there are any.

[asterisk-users] ZAPTEL PROBLEM

2007-04-30 Thread Diego Quintana Cruz

Hi all,
I am using a TDM400P card with 2 FXS and 2 FXO modules. Everything
seems nice, but i'm not able to make calls nor to receive any. When I
try to make a call, I keep receiven the "all circuits are busy now"
message, and when I receive calls, asterisk doesn't seems to care
(don't get anything on the CLI)

I'm using Asterisk 1.2.17 and Zaptel 1.2.16 from Xorcom's repository

voip:~# asterisk -rx 'zap show status'
Description  Alarms IRQbpviol CRC4
Wildcard TDM400P REV I Board 1   OK 0  0  0

  Chan Extension  Context Language   MusicOnHold
pseudofrom-internal   es
 1from-internal   es
 2from-internal   es
 3from-pstn   es
 4from-pstn   es

I thought it could be an IRQ problem, but everything seems fine

voip:~# cat /proc/interrupts

 1:811  XT-PIC  i8042
 2:  0  XT-PIC  cascade

RE: [asterisk-users] Zaptel problem after upgrading to 1.2.16

2007-03-10 Thread Mark Davies
Never mind - I seem to have fixed this. I had unloaded zaptel and wctdm
when recompiling everything, so asterisk apparently didn't compile those
modules because I assume it didn't think I had the hardware installed.

All working!

The card is detected, I get a reasonable output from ztcfg -vv, and

But when I start asterisk, I get an error saying that my IAX connection
won't work in trunked mode because there's no timing interface. Zaptel
doesn't show up in the output of show channeltypes.

Should there be a problem with using the trunk version of zaptel, but
1.2.16 of asterisk?

Are there any places that I can specifically load/enable the zaptel
module?

Is there a chan_zap.so in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules?
Are you upgrading over an existing install of Asterisk, or did you
remove the old ver first?

I had trouble building Asterisk 1.2.15 with the 1.4 zaptel driver.
Asterisk did not find the zaptel src and wouldn't build chan_zap.so.

RE: [asterisk-users] Zaptel problem after upgrading to 1.2.16

2007-03-09 Thread Mark Davies
Ah!

No, there isn't a chan_zap.so in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules.  I installed
over a previous version, however I did delete the contents of
/usr/lib/asterisk/modules before compiling and installing zaptel, libpri
and asterisk.

What is the best way to get chan_zap.so in there? Shouldn't that get
installed when I do a make install of zaptel?

Cheers,

Mark.

Is there any?

Is chan_zap.so loaded ? Do you even have
/usr/lib/asterisk/modules/chan_zap.so ?

If yes: do you have a valid timing source:

try zttest .

[asterisk-users] Zaptel problem after upgrading to 1.2.16

2007-03-08 Thread Mark Davies
Hi guys,

I'm hoping I've made a silly mistake here, but I've been staring at the
screen for the past few hours and I can't work it out.

I upgraded to 1.2.16 recently, and am having problems with zaptel.

The card is detected, I get a reasonable output from ztcfg -vv, and
zttool shows the installed module (TDM400) with one FXS module.

But when I start asterisk, I get an error saying that my IAX connection
won't work in trunked mode because there's no timing interface. Zaptel
doesn't show up in the output of show channeltypes.

Should there be a problem with using the trunk version of zaptel, but
1.2.16 of asterisk?

Are there any places that I can specifically load/enable the zaptel
module?

Any help much appreciated before I go insane... J

Mark.

Re: [asterisk-users] Zaptel Problem - Unable to create channel of type 'Zap'

2006-07-19 Thread Moises Silva

Im not a PRI guru, just configured once one of our asterisk servers in
loop using PRI for testing purposes (we were getting problems with
MFCR2). But for my experience i can tell you that OK in zttool (no
alarms) does not means that everything should work. Only the physical
link is ok, but the call protocol may be having problems. I know you
have a card with only one port, but a very good test would be make a
crossover cable and make a loop in your box, configuring 2 spans, one
of them as pri_cpe and the other as pri_net to see if you can make
calls that way.

Are you sure the other end is configured properly?
What does "zttool" says?
Have you turned on all the asterisk debug messages to look further?

[Asterisk-Users] zaptel problem

2005-10-18 Thread Calin Serbanescu
Hello people,

i have a question concerning a quad-pri card (tor2 is the module for
this card)

i want the span to be completely shut down when alarms occur on it; i
want the span to be shut down immediately to avoid compromising the
whole box if one E1 line goes crazy and to be activated only by the
administrator of the box...

is there any posibility to do this? please note that i'm not a
programmer and i don't know how to do this in C/C++

thank you,
Calin S.

[Asterisk-Users] Zaptel problem on BSD

2005-06-14 Thread Mark Willis
I have some lines outside the USA that I can't get to for up-close
testing. The issue is that when I make an outbound call on these lines,
I don't get answer indication until 20 seconds into the call. Asterisk
always thinks the line is answered, even if it's still ringing or busy.
On incoming calls the opposite is true, Asterisk doesn't know the line
has been hung up by the caller.

This is with the latest zaptel BSD drivers on a TDM400P with 4 FXO's.
Asterisk is HEAD from April. The lines are configured for Loopstart
(I've tried kewlstart too, same result). There don't seem to be any
polarity changes on the line for answer or disconnect.

Anyone seen this before? I'd be happy if I could just have the lines
think they are answered when dialling is complete.

Mark

[Asterisk-Users] Zaptel Problem after Upgrade

2004-08-20 Thread Kurt Bauer
Hi,
after upgrading to latest CVS (20.08) I have a problem with the connection
to PSTN:
When I try to make a call from PSTN to * I hear the "number not available'
sound and the following warnings on * console:
Aug 20 12:09:55 WARNING[180235]: chan_zap.c:6762 zt_pri_error: PRI: !! <
Unknown IE 1329 (len = 3)
Aug 20 12:09:55 WARNING[180235]: chan_zap.c:6762 zt_pri_error: PRI: !! <
Unknown IE 1330 (len = 3)

The other way round still works although I also get a warning:
Aug 20 12:10:39 WARNING[180235]: chan_zap.c:6762 zt_pri_error: PRI: !! <
Unknown IE 1330 (len = 3)

I changed no config files, so that couldn't be the problem, or has anything
changed since April (that was the CVS version with which it worked just
fine).

Thanks,
best regards,
Kurt
