Hi again for the 4th time. I've figured out why the game just sits there and you can't do anything. It happens for me if I try to train a hero and I don't have any gold left or do something simular, where I'm out of food or gold. I don't know if this only happens on my device, but it's really annoying, and I haven't found a way to continue accept for closing the app in the app switcher and lanch the game again.Anyway, I like the game. I'm level 10 so far, and I don't find the game difficult at all, not yet. URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150511#p150511

Ahoy all!Tis the 4th of october, and smugglers series has been smuggled into my friends email ID. in this smuggleing process our mate,Sebby has been instrumental. alas, the shipment of dwarfs, elfse, nude human slaves to be cast into the dungeons and other nasties has been delayed a bit. We await the dungeon master, jason.Getting a bit serious, alls been done with and over. Thanks to sebby I was able to give the smugglers series as a gift to my friend, who's birthday is today. We also planned on entombed and it will come true in the future,no one knows when, though. Seriously, Entombed I say entombed here because that's the one I have experience with needs to provide options. if for nothing else, than the email address,at least. The process was eazy, there were a few things we hadn't thought of,but sebby smoothed those overI would like to thank sebby for
helping with the process, without him, the surprise wouldn't have been possible. and for his pations, too. Anyway,I await my friends reaction,it certainly will be quite a surprise. although the sm5 was supposed to be the iceing on the cake,I guess he can make do with the iceing for a while. besides he doesn't know that I have perchased entombed yet! so it can be a surprise also, when and as it comes.Grryf.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150505#p150505

Re: symbolic representation of disabilities, what do you think?

Hmm, that's really interesting in terms of linguistics. I am nto sure if this applies to all blind communities aroud the world, or if it is the language (English) that they are speaking in, or what. Just today I was at a presentation in which a friend of mine and I were projecting things about culture, stereotypes, equities, issues, etc. And it occurred to me that each culture has a linguistic trend of some sort, no matter what it is, just like with any other trend. Take LGBTQIA, for instance, the valey girl and gay lisp are good examples and fall under the lavender linguistics. While I am not sure if any linguists has defined the characteristics that you said about blind people, it is fair to say that blind people tend to, in conversation, be very overly enthusiastic or non-enthusiastic at all. The reason I think this might be is because they want to show their power and like with any other culture, to acquire privileges.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150503#p150503

Re: symbolic representation of disabilities, what do you think?

Well regarding the mental illness business, it is entirely and perfectly true that people will react badly to someone acting "Strangely" however mental illness itself is such a culturally loaded concept that advertising it might be worse, especially in Britain's current climate of labelling anyone with a medical condition who might recieve disability bennifit as a "scrounger" My research assistant who suffers depression has experienced this, indeed  at one point a nurse told her at hospital after a suicide attempt "oh isn't that all that rather pathetic and adolescent?"  Even though my friend's depression is utterly senseless, born out with a massive medical history and indeed something which (when not affected by it), she treats as much a rational inconvenience to be understood as any other disability.I'll also add that another friend of mine once contacted me in great destress since she had been diagnosed
with a certain form of mental illness and wished to talk to someone, but felt that most people she knew would treat her too differently if they knew what said condition was. Having a psychiatric nurse for a father of course, for me at least mental illness is no different or more unusual from physical illness, but that's certainly not the view of society.Regarding blindness and speech patterns, it's more something I've noticed. Maybe it's born of blind people just not learning to face another person correctly, or not developing sufficient social skills to modulate their verbal reactions and vocal tones to others, but I've noticed a lot of "The blind community" as you put it in Britain, especially those who have heavily and only associated with other blind people have a very distinct way of speaking. Their tone tends to be slightly louder, often over enthusiastic, or indeed sometimes the opposite, but always with that slightly off conve
rsational style, and ill fitting tone when speaking in person.I don't know if there is even a term for this, it's just something I've noticed myself and another reason I tend to largely avoid said community in Britain, indeed ironically on the few occasions I've tried! to get involved I've tended to feel even more out of place than I would among a similar gathering of fully eyeballed individuals, mostly because said individuals don't tend to like those they don't already know, much less those doing vastly different things with their lives and shwoing themselves able to get on without all the standard usual blindness aides and methodologies. For example, I remember the desasterous blind drama group I attended, who's idea of performance was to all stand in one line (since heaven forbid they did any actual acting), and speak lines from a script their director had written, and sing songs to a tune composed by their pianist. I&
#039;ll also add that this so called attempt at performance was viewed by nobody other than the friends and family of the participants.A long way from the stuff I do or where I would like to go.Of course, I do confess I was rather jaded on the blind community issue by my time at specialist school, where I was pretty much always the outsider being the one person who watched tv, had fun running and climbing stuff (like most ten year olds), played computer games etc, and didn't just get interested in whatever current craze swept that tiny group of people, (the fact our teacher was a dead ringer for prof umbridge didn't help either).Still, I do confess very little has changed my initial impression.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150497#p150497

Hi, I did not know that blind people adopted a linguistic intonation of their own. This is interesting because myself, I am not really a full participant of the blind community. And good points there. If you are going to wear a sign or something, it would have to be for a very good reason, like those with mental problems. Police here in the States lack training on how to treat people who are doing strange things and we have had false officer-involved shootings because they thought the person was a suspect, not some poor guy with mental issues.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150479#p150479

Re: symbolic representation of disabilities, what do you think?

Interesting question. to be honest there are two sides to this. On the one hand it is true that some sort of signifyer can be helpful, this indeed is why my brother used to carry a micro sized cane which he didn't need, on the other to be brutally honest most so called normal people do not react well to anyone they perceive to be different in any way. If  people perceive you have some sort of disability, the usual reaction is avoidance, plane and symple, don't believe me? walk into your local pub and see how many people speak to you. Still worse, among some groups of people reactions to difference can be far more intensified and negative, and having any!  visible differenceof any sort is pretty much a direct invitation to turn you into a victim of the mob. This is why I personally would never be in favour of a sign which acts just! as a sign, since if you have a disability you already have a factor of social alienation, no need to ma
ke it worse. It'd be like the one Irish person in an English village walking around dressed as a lepricorn.Myself, I will! use a cane, but not for anyone else's bennifit but mine, ditto with my guide dog, since heck, falling down the stairs is pretty painful, and would make me stick out even more, and other people's thoughts be buggered!I will not wear the huge reflective yellow clothes which are pretty much a blindnness uniform, heck I will not speak in the sort of slightly over emphatic manner that many blind people seem to adopt, neither, if I'm communicating with someone will I emphasise the "blindness" issue. It's interesting that when I've been in stage productions a frequent comment from the audience who see me with my stick afterwards is "we never knew you were blind!" My mum in fact in my last production  overheard a major  debate about whether I was or not, and most people didn't believe that so
meone prancing around on stage could be, [[wow]] did they get a  sho shock. .The only cure for all of this is frankly education, better media representation, and indeed the recognition by the public that disability doesn't equal belonging to an alien species. For example, while it's frequent to see tv series and plays etc where a person in a wheel chair is just a regular character, how often  does that happen with Blind people? Either they are pathetic, or they are some how superhuman, no in between, indeed Startrek next gen is one of the few examples I can think of. This is why when I go on stage I don't take my stick or anything,  and really don't care whether people work out that I have a visual imparement or not, since I'm  much  more concerned with whether my singing and  character acting is up to the
job, ie, humerous! (remember, I do light! opera). It also doesn't help that so many disability groups demand tocan representation and the like, eg, disability pride parades, since frankly it's treating disability honestly that would be most helpfull, and!more likely to stop the  avoidance thing, whether there is a sign or whether people just work it out on their own. Regarding mental illness, well to be honest with how suspicious most people are of mental illness, I can't think of a greater recipe for desaster!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150478#p150478

Some bugs to report :- You can undo multiple times; it let you have more than you had before, and it makes other items disappear randomly or appearing twice in the list. Often the doubled items or removed ones are or were those at the end of the list, but not always; for me it happened with rocks, wind, sunshine and water, where rocks and water were present twice and sunshine and wind disappeared.- Undo doesn't work at all in fact: when you undo, the items used in the last recipee come back, but the item just produced isn't removed.- Launching a known recipee from the menu makes the application hanging and then crash- I was unable to launch a known recipee from the menu (saying that I hadn't required ingredients, allthough I actually had what I needed; it happened to make stick and to make fire- Once, I got "You have used magic to create a new "; that happened while magic was alone in the slots, and then I effec
tively got an item with no name. It happened again probably because I was too fast, the item I wanted to clone hasn't been selected.- Press Shift+backspace as very first action in a new game, and you'll also get an item with no name- Precision for the bug selecting the wrong item: after having successfully launched a recipee, if I press a letter, i.e. S, the first item starting with S is spoken, but when I press enter, another random item is loaded in the slots; sometimes it even announces "X and Y are ready to combine", where X and Y are items I effectively have in stock, but unrelated to what I wanted to select at first. It occurs quite randomly, I have the impression that it happens when I'm too fast, but always only just after having successfully combined two items. It could be a blasting plus feature if you were adding the ability to run at once a recipee of order 2, 3 and more, or otherwise said, a path of multiple recipees. Of course
, provided that you have all starting items in stock and that you already know all recipees along the path. For example, it seems that fire is rather important in the game, and it's quite boring to redo it all the time when you know it by heart. With the feature, I could say somewhere to make fire in one or two clicks, and it will automatically do A+B->C, C+A->D and then B+D->E, provided that I have 2A and 2B available. Such shortcuts could be limited to 3, 4 or 5 target items of your liking, otherwise it would of course too easy.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150473#p150473

Re: symbolic representation of disabilities, what do you think?

I think a symbol of some kind is sometimes appropriate, for example the reflective white label on a cane or guide dog's harness is not only useful as a social hint that the holder is blind (and would the sighty please stop pointing using a finger), but also helps passing drivers take special precautions. But, there is always the danger that the symbol enhances a stereotype, especially if the symbol portrays some unique quality of a disabled person. For example, a wheelchair is used as the icon in Windows for the "Ease of access centre", which I think is a disgusting trivialisation of disability generally, because rather than highlight the fact that disabled people are being equalised, it seems to suggest that they are receiving special treatment that is unique to them. Which is terrible.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150471#p150471

Bedroom tax defeat for Westminster council in landmark case

I only just heard about this on In Touch.A blind man is the first in England to have won a case against the absurd "Bedroom tax" in the UK, on the basis that he uses the room for equipment. The judge concurs that since "Bedroom" isn't defined in the law, his use of that room can't reasonably be defined as for a bedroom, taking into account the obvious use of the word "Bedroom". Read the full story.Interesting! I must start filling up the spare rooms in my five-storey mansion with articles of great worth (all my oscars, the gold discs, silver statuettes of corporate heroes and all that) so I can continue to get free biscuits off the state. Mwa ha ha ha ha! Etc.BTW, if you don't know what the bedroom tax is, try this. It's all about getting those who need social housing into social housing, by fi
rst ejecting those who are living in anti-social housing. It also has some other useful effects, but the important one as far as our "Austere" government is concerned is that of potentially saving money. (That this actually causes loss of money due to economic pressures to residents who can't afford the tax or the means to move, that it undercuts the many large houses on the market, that the UN has criticised it severely for human rights reasons, that it separates families, or that it otherwise prejudices good, honest people is something that the government would rather you not trouble yourself about.)URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150460#p150460

Re: symbolic representation of disabilities, what do you think?

Hi.I'll say this is very important to use a cain or anything else which shows people the guy there is blind. If a blind person bumps into someone and people don't know the person is blind, you can easily get in trouble, trust me, I, have, tried! Lol. So if you for whatever reason i can't think about don't need a cain to avoid opsticles, you should use a cain to show to others that you're blind.Regarding wheiring a sign if people are disabled, that's an interesting question. People are only thinking about phicically handicaps which mostly are easy to see, just by looking at the disabled person. What about handicaps like brain issues, mental issues and other kinds of issues which makes people react weird because of mental handicaps? Those kind of handicaps are hitten very well and are not something you can see just by looking at people. So I'll say a disabled sign would be very useful for those who have a handicap you can't see jus
 t by looking at them.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150446#p150446

Hi again.Sorry for massive posting. I have a question, or rather something which annoys me a bit:When you're about to unlock a new hero, why does this hero then block one of the slots until you've unlocked it? It's like I can't choose to remove the hero which says locked, and I only have two sout of 3 unlocked slots available. This seems pretty weird, and I'm not sure if this locked hero is fighting when I can't remove it.Then, I experience a lot of times both on wifi and 3g that the game freeses and just sits there, not responding at all. I have to shut down the game from the apps switcher and start it again to continue. Other times, the conection drops and I have to choose reconnect. I wouldn't mind if that only happens twice or so, but lately it has happened more than five times for me.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=150439#p150439

Well, this is what I managed to get out of it. K the furby definitely sounds like a really cute toy for little children to (something), especially they established a language item for furby to comunicate. And iOS devices even got (something) so that your toy now can download your (something) onto your iOS device and (something) to interact with your furby toy. I heard they come in different types of (something) which one is the most advanced though, but that would be interesting to see. Hi,In most cases I believe one doesn't need a sign exclaiming that the individual is disabled, unless the person on the other end is quite smart and has an IQ of 5... What I mean is a person can look at a person in the wheelchair and quite logicley come to a conclusion that this person can not walk. same gos for a person with a cain, although some people use cains for other purposes as well,so there could be some difficulty.Personally I wouldn't wear, hold, atach or anything else a sign, plaque,ID on my person that proclaimed that ahoy ye all scurvy rats this be a one legged pirate, wait, one eyed pirate, ahem cut those all out.although I do realise the importance of people knowing that you can't do a perticular thing such as walk,see,etc...
