Re: Braillemon status update!

Found a bug. I'm not sure if I have the most recent update, but this hasn't been brought up before so I don't think it's been patched. My Wartortle just reached LV 31, and I let him learn Protect because I was training in Diglett Cave and the little blighters kept using Dig. The Protect shield worked fine, but every time I used it, my attacks would keep missing for the rest of the battle, so I couldn't kill the little rascal that I protected myself from. My only choice was to run if I didn't want Sean the Wartortle to faint. I hadn't saved the game, so I'm just not going to let him learn Protect this time. However useful it might be, if I'm wasting attacks on a Diglett I can't kill, I'm not getting my Vulpix any experience.

Re: Killer Instinct beginners tips

You can't find out that I know of... the rotation is random. But as for different tips...You can learn the basics pretty easily, but the real meat of the game is in the combos, and long ones. There are three types of special moves you need to learn. Openers, enders and linkers. Each character's special moves has one of these three properties... and you can probably guess what they do. Openers allow you to start combos, linkers allow you to continue them and enders end the combo. The default chain is light to medium to heavy with either punch or kick, but you can also go back in reverse order from heavy to medium to light, but if you use the opposing button. So if I perform a chain of light medium then heavy punches, I can go back words if I then follow up with a heavy kick and so on. Or I can go into a linker from the heavy punch and continue from there. Those are just some of the things... there is more, but I am tired and will write more in the morning. Special
moves are in the same as every other game, with eex-specials or shadow versions as they're called in KI done by using two buttons instead of one.

Nvda 2015.1 and the eloquence addon plus some other questions

Nvda 2015.1 and the eloquence addon plus some other questions

Ahoy all.I have tried nvda off and on sinse 2012 and it is my backup screenreader in case I don't have access to jaws or jaws decides to have a fit. recently I decided that I would learn to use nvda a bit more, in depth  as it were. Having been using jaws sinse I started using computers I'm quite used to eloquence, and so I almost always use nvda with eloquence too as I'm more comfortable with it.Now here's the trouble. I downloaded the latest stable version of nvda 2015.1 , and Installed the eloquence addon from jef's website. When I first switched the sinths, I got an error and it stayed with its default sinth on trying a second time, it did switch to eloquence, but the eloquence with nvda at least seems to lag, I.E I'm reading a line and before that line is finished I press down arrow to read another line. it'll continue to read the same line a few words more then go on to the second line. When I try to change setti
ngs I.E speed language etc, I cannot seem to do that either. Anyone of you experienced this? and if yes, is there a way to fix these issues or another version of the eloquence addon, perhaps?I have also been trying to get into the nvda addon folder by installing bt sync but the latest version doesn't seem to be accessible do any of you have a older setup with you that you could upload.Thanksgrryf

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

HiChandu, if you are willing to spend a few bucks (translates into 800 or 1k inr) at least from your name I gather you are from india, buy a router. a router will broadcast your modems signels that is to say your internet connection to a certain range, and all your devices will have access to it. This is what pitermach was talking about. This is the kind of setup I have and it works quite well. Of course it won't work if you are using a mobile internet connection, but for those you could use dongles which have the hotspot feature.hth

Re: flux world, a truely unique experience.

Although there are different planets, some of the main ones nearby are airless moons, and as such, have no surface water. Most of the buildings are in enclosures, or are underground. Some of the faraway planets might have what you are looking for, and we can talk about transporting vehicles, but there is much to be done in the local system.Your shuttle, like any of the rest, can go farther than you think, as you will discover. There is both ship to ship communications, and a global system for talking, Although I dont point this out right right away, it is available. See me in game for details.Building for yourself is possible, but not just anywhere. Usually, someone should be buying, modifying and working with objects simpler than rooms and areas, to gather the needed experience with the various customizable messages that objects have, as rooms have many, many settings which are possible. This includes vehicles, as they are portable rooms, things like seating
, details which can be looked at, and other features. As far as what to charge others, its like anything else: what the market will bear. One person may only be willing to pay a 100 for a short trip up a river, while another might be willing to pay far more, especially for some space destination. At some price point, a person would be more willing to learn how to operate a vehicle themself, than pay someone else. This is what the open market is all about, the prices are somewhat set by what people are willing to pay and receive, for goods and services. The rockets you mention are specifically for Space Transport of materials into space, and are not really made for people to travel in. Watching a launch, when they happen, is interesting though, and can be seen from many places at once.

The cause of the decline of Raymond mill equipment production

The so-called Raymond mill equipment mainly refers to the grinding equipment, mainly used for barite, calcite, feldspar, talc, marble, limestone, dolomite, fluorite, lime, activated clay, activated carbon, bentonite, kaolin, cement, phosphate rock, gypsum, glass, insulation materials such as Mohs hardness is less than 9.3 fine powder processing, high humidity below 6% non inflammable and explosive mineral, chemical, construction and other industries more than 280 kinds of materials. In the use of process, equipment found to yield will decrease, the reasons causing this phenomenon are mainly the following six points.First, in the grinding material, should choose the material grinding hardness is moderate, the more high hardness materials, yield is low, and not only that, high hardness, serious wear on the machine, the replacement of wearing parts and faster, if the material is of high hardness grindi
ng on the choice to high hardness grinding machine grinding.Second, the material when grinding material humidity generally at 10% moisture content, if the water content is high, then the now dry milling, otherwise the material in the Raymond mill internal will adhere to the machine, the machine accident blocked.Third, in the choice of grinding material, generally to the installation of jaw crusher, crushing machine and other equipment, to the granularity of material crushed to fine particles as possible, so that the grinding time can yield higher.Fourth, crushing the material can be broken into fine particles, but if broken when too much powder, it is necessary to increase the sieve to deal with fine powder, if too much, will affect the host grinding Raymond mill.Fifth, the lower the viscosity of the material the higher the yield, selection of material grinding low viscosity.Sixth, the grinding roller wear-resistant parts procurement, grinding ring good

Re: What Was the First AudioGame you Ever played?

My situation is pretty unique, being that both of my parents are almost totally blind, and I actually am.The first audio games I remember, from around the age of 4 or 5, were some of the games from the UK Audio Network, and early versions of Pack Man Talks from PCS Games, that my dad used to play sometimes on weekends when he was off shift from the call center he worked at.  He'd let me listen to him play, and sometimes he'd show me how, or try to at least.  Though I did take a liking to Mobius Mountain, which he would play with me sometimes.I also remember playing trucker, golf, and mock 1, with trucker being my favorite of the three, when I was 7 or 8, but I can't remember which one I played by my self for the first time.  Either way it was at almost the same time that I started figuring them all out anyway.  I also started Talking Typing Teacher around that time.Later on, when I was 9 or 10 I starte
d to play games like Dark Destroyer, Supershot, baseball and NFL, and I also started to play against my dad, using my first computer, on Topspeed over the local network, and Monopoly by sharing each side of the keyboard.  I also remember trying to beat each others scores on Sonic Invaders, with only the desktop speakers, and no headphones, as well as seeing how badly we could get screwed over in Mississippi.Damn it's cool having parents only 20 years older than you... I can remember going to summer camp around that time as well, and learning about SCW, Super Liam, rail racer, and other payed games from a pair of kids there at OSB, which I started to ask for as birthday and Christmas presents. Some of those memories are the most fond I have of my dad actually, playing games in the summer in Oregon, as well as later, in Gresham, havi
ng water gun fights and picnics, watching the fireworks on the forth of July and such.God, how time passes you by, I feel like an old man pining for times long gone, when everything made sense and feeling alive came easy, because even though there were problems, you were too young and ignorant to ask about them much, but that's a world of difference from how it is now, And I'm only 19...  My first MUD was at a friends house when I was 13 or 14, and it was GW2, quickly followed by Alteraeon.  He helped me figure out the hole idea of it, which was at least not totally alien to me, since I had played text games like the Dream hold, Curses, Adventure, Teddybear picnic and Gourmet, among others, on my Braille note.  I also learned about how some console games could be playable enough to be fun in groups, especially fighting games, something that
I had never considered before, since even though I had seen allot of other kids with consoles, mostly XBox's, and even had some close friends that had one, I knew I couldn't possibly play with them.  How ever, I started to learn how to play Super streetfighter on the PS3, and now it's one of my favorite games, along with MK9 and Injustice, even though I don't have my own console and don't get to play them very often.

You will need a more advanced version of the ship in order to extract minerals on those planets.

that's interesting. I don't really play muds although you might've seen me on alter aeon a time or two... yeah. When I was first introduced I didn't think about the whole simplistic nature thing some of you previously thought; I just wanted to play, well, games. But then again, I was quite young at the time, so didn't know about that stuff anyway.I remember the days (2 years ago) when castaways was the, game, for me. lol, that was right before I found out about swamp...

Castaways and Entombed were my first audio games, just last year.  Before that, I had heard of accessible games, but I thought anything made for the blind would have to be simplistic, just to allow the screen reader to keep up.  I had no idea!I started reading about Muds when I found audiogames .net, and the rest is history.

Re: want to study another programming language

Gamedude, picking a programming language isn't always a simple task, but I strongly feel based on the criteria you gave above something like Microsoft's C# .NET might work. The .NET languages, particularly C#, is great at rapid development of applications and building quick and efficient GUI applications. There is of course the Windows forms designer in Visual Studio, but it is also possible to create fully operational GUI applications by coding the forms by hand if that is your thing. Also there are .NET wrappers for the common game APIs such as SlimDX which gives you access to DirectX components so writing games in C# .NET is quite possible. Even better since BGT and C# have a similar syntax you might be able to quickly learn C# apposed to another language which has different syntax etc.

Re: recording/audiogames demo question

I use audacity, so first off I will go into my microphone settings. Press windows key + B then arrow right until you hear speakers or headphones and a percentage. press your applications key, this is usually to the right of the right alt key, press R and you will be taken into the recording settings dialog. Next arrow down to the mic you're going to use and tab twice to properties and hit enter, now, control + tab once to get to the listen tab, press space to check the box, press ok, then OK on the second window and now you should be hearing your mic through your speakers or headphones. Now, go into Audacity, press shift + H and go down to windows wasapi and hit enter. Now, when you record, sounds are being looped through your sound card so you will hear the microphone and your screen reader plus all the other sounds your computer makes. You would have to figure out how to do this if you are not using audacity. Also, there is another way with a patch cable but i won't ge
t into that now unless specifically asked.

Re: awful accessibility-breaking lollipop update

2015-03-29 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : hacker via Audiogames-reflector

Re: awful accessibility-breaking lollipop update

As far as update issues on android, I have found that most times, especially when upgrading to a new major version of android such as android 4 to android 5, the risk of buggaboos is extremely high. This can be caused by several issues such as the switch from the dalvik vm to the android runtime (ART) from android 4.x to 5. Usually, while OTA updates do a good job of cleaning up and migrating the caches and system db's, for example, your tts framework bug will 99 times out of 100 be fixed by a factory reset. Alternatively, if you root your device, you can use either titanium backup to locally backup your apps and system settings or a nandroid which is like a complete system image, do the OTA and if you're unhappy, reflash your rom and data partition from the nandroid back to 4.4, in the exact same state you left your device before the image. To do more or less the same thing without rooting, do the following:1: install the android sdk on your computer.2
: ensure that the platform-tools directory inside the sdk installation path is in your $PATH (unix-like), or %PATH%(windows) environment variables3: on your device, go into settings, then developer options, and check USB debugging. If you don't see developer options (it should be the option above about), go into settings, tap about phone, about tablet, or about device, then tap build number until the screen reads you are now a developer. Next, open a terminal, in windows speak command prompt and type the followingadb backup -all -shared -system -apk -obbThe first time you do this, your device will display an authorization message asking if you want to let your computer connect to the device, check always allow from this computer, then tap ok. finally, on the next screen, tap backup my data. This will take a long time. Once it finishes, you will have a file called backup.ab in the directory where you ran the command. If you want your backup to just include user
apps and settings, change -system to -nosystem. As I said in my previous post, after a factory reset, accessibility can be enabled from the welcome screen, by holding two fingers on the screen. Hope this helps.

How much functionality will I getout of the app?Definitely.  You don't actually need the console for SmartGlass to work.  Just sign in with your details and you should be good to go!Can I cue downloads before I get the console so that I can get things going as quickly as possible?Yes you can, although what actually happens after sign in is currently uncertain, I will update this section once I know more.SmartGlassWhilst Xbox 360 SmartGlass was a bit of a pain to get working, it did a couple of interesting things that were quite useful, not least of which was allowing you to launch games from a windows 8 compatible device without even touching your controller. The Xbox One counterpart, a separate app in the ITunes App Store and on Android, is a whole new way of looking at the features of the 360 version.  It has several useful features including being able to watch game DVR clips while on the go, viewing in-game help manuals and, perhaps most useful of all, allowing you to purchase items (only free ones have been tested) directly from within the app.***More information to be added***The ControllerThe Xbox One controler, hereafter refered to as the controler, is similar to the xbox 360 version.  The Xbox button has been redesigned into an interesting raised circle of sorts with the logo imprinted into it, which is a lot less strange than the 360.  Actually, I'm going to spend so much time comparing the two that I'll give my first recommendation about this part of the system: if you can, try one.  If you do try one, try it with a game you know. The controler itself is well built, as you'd expect from a first party product.  The buttons are responsive (including the Dpad), with the analogue sticks being smooth and precise.  The triggers, whilst evolved from the X360 equivalent, are still as sharp as ever with the only minor point being the new bumpers.Where you could previously press the bumper anywhere along its length to activate whatever function the game ties it to, those on the next generation controler are more finicky.  Whilst not unusable by any means, they require an element of practice to master, with not pressing in on the edges being the best way I found of making them do as expected. The play and charge kit controllerThe play and charge version of the controller, unlike the standard wireless controler comes with two important things: A lithium-Ion (LI) battery, allowing for long-term recharging without using large numbers of double A batteries, in addition to a micro USB cable.Opening the boxBefore you get access to your new controller, you'll need to open the box.  To do this you'll need a pair of scissors to cut the tape then you'll pretty much be ok, or at least you should be.  Things are packaged in an orderly fashion, with the usual instructional manuals and such included as well.Inserting the LI BatteryThe battery is a kind of long, slightly squashed close to cylindrical shape, like those featured in the 360 version, with a couple of small redesigns.  You simply slide off the back pannel of the controller (which takes a while to get used to, not that you'll do it that often with the play and charge version), push the battery in so that the small contact inserts into the whole in the cont

Hi,It, generally, is a mixture of everything. There is no "theme" as you say.As for sounds, we have an MSP soundpack, but not an actual soundpack like alter aeon has. As I am not skilled in designing such a system, someone else will have to do it for us.

You need to go to milltown, house d. Your people will break up with Danga, then you can get on the ship. Also, befor getting on the ship, you need to get light magic for an orbe in the next place. To do this, go to Fanmoo, then wait till it's night. When night begins, go to the side road, witch is only open at night. The side road is half way between Fanmoo and the small village. Once your their, keep going back. When you come to a dead end, go left and then back, then you will find the temple of light. Your people will have a conversation with the main magic of light, then you will be asked for answers to questions. The correct options are, 1 平和の象徴じゃ。 2 安らぎを齎す光の魔法主 3 彼らがおらんかったら 4 生きていられなかったし、 5 闇・風・月・水・炎・木。 6 だから、魔法に感謝し、 7 常々願っておるよ。.  If you need anymore help, just ask.

This version is ment for deep space operations, and it is designed so that it may pull several minerals from planets at once. We're working on the design now currently, but this will be useful for the planets which are springing up all across deep space.

Re: Monthly chat March 2015

@Mirage, yep, the version I read was the original, apparently they chose to remove the story "way in the middle of the air" because it was felt it was no longer relevant, but as I said, why? I can highly recommend otherland. The books are city of golden shaddow, rivers of blue fire, mountain of black glass, and sea of silver light, and it's by Tad Williams. It's actually hard to say what genre it is, sinse on the one hand it is set i the late 21st century an is slightly cyberpunk with the iea of an internet plugged into people's brains, however it also experiments with a lot of story telling types from African folk tales to Conan the barbarian style fantasy adventure. The series revolves around The Otherland network, a virtual reality created which is indistinguishable from reality, and as with most of Williams books gets hugely complex and features multiple characters and plot threads, but is very awsome. Right now I'm still feel
ing fairly dead, so am reading the second sandman slim novel, which is okay as far as guns and violence and one liners go, but not particularly deep or something that will make me think much. I'm really hoping this bloody infection clears up soon sinse I'm supposed to be at music school in a couple of weeks, indeed this week I need to go and learn some Iver Novello for an audition, but sinse I can barely speak let alone sing and am still farely shattered I'm not sure if that is going to happen.

Re: want to study another programming language

Python is easier than _javascript_ is easier than Java is easier than C++. I can't comment on C# or .net or purebasic (but it sounds like Purebasic is basically "C but with most of the work already done", so I'd tentatively put it above Java based only on hearsay).C++ can be quite hideous at times. Camlorn once described it and C as beasts to be tamed, which seems like an apt description. It's more or less the professional, low-level language that can get you jobs, but it's a hassle and two halves if you don't really need it. And you don't.I've used pre-HTML5 _javascript_ for games. I can't comment on how things have changed in the ensuing 6 or so years, but I have noticed an increase in the complexity of source code for web pages, and didn't really feel like getting into it. Also, _javascript_ sound anywhere but Android is effectively non-existent.I was working prim
arily in Java when I started posting at audiogames.net. I switched to BGT primarily because distribution was a horrible mess, but I've since discovered that java sound has only gotten worse with time (It's like they abandonned it in favor of letting people just use OpenAL). Also, Java Accessibility is extant, but overly complex to implement.Python is much cleaner than Java all around. (Really, my only complaint is the lack of the switch statement and the rearranging of the ternary operator. Well, that, and if I screw up the indentation at any one point it's easy to get lost.) Pygame's sound isn't all that great (Camlorn keeps telling me to try pyo, but my attention span keeps giving out every time I try to learn how to use it), but it's good enough if you only need pan and volume. I am not a fan of dependency scavenger hunts (let's not even get into building things from source), but there are only a few libraries you'd really need, and
for the most part, they're pretty simple to use once installed.Mostly, I'm leaning toward Python. You'd probably want to install Pygame, accessible_output2, probably wx (I dunno, I haven't looked into that one much, but it'd probably help with GUI elements), and numpy if you want to do a ton of math with lots of arrays (which you probably don't, but eh).(Pygame's audio might be meh, but its 2D drawing is very nice. It lacks gradients or the ability to play with complex geometry outside of drawing, but it's wonderful for handling images. A mix of BGT and Pygame would probably be a perfect high-level engine for 2D games.)

Helo,On the one hand, I think a soundpack would be great, but, also, remember these guys are just starting out and I think for now want to focus on coding the mud. I think for the future though a soundpackc could be fun for those who want it.

hello all,After debating with myself about the question how i will fix the downtime of the dropbox links i posted earlier i think i have a solution.A few weeks ago i purchased myself a NAS, in short, a server for my home.i have uploaded the two files (the main games folder and the patch to alpha 3.1) to that NAS and i have created two new links and placed these in the first post. The advantage to this is that the server where the files are hosted now is much more stable.Appologies if you had trouble with our downtime.greetz mike

Re: Beatstar discussion

The game itself have libraries for nvda and maybe for other screenreaders. If you are running for example jaws and after launch you get Win Eyes, this may comfuse the game which reader is running so the reading of soundpacks is not working properly.

Helo all. I have got problems with Beatstar. I have Window-eyes for office and it launches every time when I launch the game. Never mind, but I have got another problem. when I am in the list of downloadable soundpacks it sometimes doesn`t read names of packs. I have to press up and down arrow to know what is in the list. Please, why I have this problem? Thanks, Vojta.

No, landing at such a fast speed is for the aircraft carrier. Also, a -30 angle of attack is just fine, I always do that way. Just be sure it's exactly -30, no more.
