Those seem like what you'd want, you'd set the sound's position in 3D space and rotating the direction of the listener would then change from what direction you hear the sound. Its not all that different from the OpenAL Listener functions, from the PySFML documentation:classmethod set_direction(direction)Set the orientation of the listener in the scene.The orientation defines the 3D axes of the listener (left, up, front) in the scene. Achieving sound rotation using PySFML?

Hi all,  I have rotation code implemented, meaning that the player can turn all the way around, walk, and side step with the current code I have. I ported this over from Sam Tupy's bgt rotation package.  There is a problem though. I'm not using a function to position sounds where I can specify where to pan and set their volume to, because I am using SFML's sound module. Here are the functions I have to work withsound.position(x, y, z)listener.set_direction(x, y, z)Maybee there are others that would help with this, but I think these are the most likely candidates. What I'm asking is, how do I make my sounds rotate in Python SFML? How do I make it so that when I turn, it actually sounds like the player is turning around?

I am not saying that how it will goes to the BGT But I am rather saying that it will be going tough for fluffy if he choose BGT and like me if we have this type of idea of like GTA type of game. well I will generally use BGT for my simple game and which I am discussing with Mister sneak privately. I never blaimed BGt and I have no right to blaim because I am not the coder and don't know the abilities of BGT also. at mayaanacertainly not, how the grand companies work together then? if this game is hand over to a company or fluffy just launch his company then he and his team members have to work like a team. a one who will code. one will give the music and other guys will test. some will give their voices and so on. @family mario, how are the songs coming? Btw, I triedd to contact super english kid about getting the rexact tempos for the days of the week song, but he has not responded. If I had to guess it starts at about 50bpm and the average increase per verse is 25bpm.

1. In the sapi5 dectalk folder, the corect exe file to use is called setup.exe I believe, in keeping with microsoft standards.2. All the eloquence versions on jake's site are for sapi4.

@Nibar, we've had this debate before. First, I think your exaggerating with "over fifty percent" of the games having broken links, but certainly if they're a developer that is still going such as draconis, feel free to report them, since if we don't wknow we can't fix them (I fixed links in Sarah's entry just recently for example), and sometimes links can change just because a developer has updated their site, or because someone who previously hosted games has changed their mind (bladestorm360 for example hosted several games onhis site for quite some time which are now not available). This is also why it helps when people who are hosting abandonware games actually host them perminantly and provide links rather than just going "here's the game on dropbox" and just passing it to their friends.This is also why we add links to the game's webpages, since often the developer's own site will host the files even if 
 the direct download link on audiogames.net isn't working, I recall this happening with several of draconis games at one time, their own site was fine, but the individual setup files to their games had moved.Secondly, in some cases like Bsc,  Code factory and bavisoft, yes we do keep the games around for historical purposes, and because on occasion games have been released as abandonware later on, that happened with DanZ's games, actually I would love to see Bsc's titles released as abandonware so everyone can enjoy them at some point and part of the reason I keep the pages up with the arning is in hopes the developer will do that in the future.In other cases games may simply be temporarily unavailable, but might be available later due to site hosting issues on the part of the developer, for instance Superliam was not working for quite some time, but now it is.Lastly however, I will point out it's quite legitimate for us to say "555 
 games in the database" This is an informational site. we do not make or maintain the games, we are not  responsable for hosting them, and what developer's do isn't under our control, we can just write about what we find, and if something changes, well that's not exactly our fault,  we'll do our best to fix things of course (especially if people let us know what the problem is), but ultimately we're only human.

I'm afraid you used the wrong installer. The ..MSI file was ment for windows xp. Jake made a special installer (microsoft sapi5 voices.exe) that should work in windows 7.

Hi,I agree with those who say the coder isactually the one doing the major part of the work, and the final game might thus result in something quite different than the idea guy originally envisioned. I can understand the fact that many people have a very strong passion to come up with a game that has not yet been implemented in audio, etc, but simply don't have the needed skill to program it themselves. In that case, though, they should simply put up with the fact that they are just providing the idea to someone else who will turn it into reality. How could it be their own project any longer when they do not have the required understanding for the inevitable technical difficulties, issues and obstacles that the coder will be facing when implementing the idea? I mean, I could come up to an architect with a sketch of a brand new, revolutionary, innovative kind of building. However, even if the architect was thrilled by the idea and agreed to try to build it, I would not d

I wouldn't like to harm anyone's feelings or anything but this is just the way things are, put simply and perhaps a bit bluntly. Sure, you could not build say a standalone voice recognition app or a web browser in BGT, but for a Windows based audiogame, it has more or less everything you need, and I can certainly imagine such a game being written in BGT. In all honesty and sincerity, without any irony or whatever, I would be very curious and interested to know where this general tendency to underestimate the language's capabilities came from. Perhaps it's many beginner coders starting to learn the language with high expectations and high hopes to code thosebrilliant ideas, and then failing their attempt, falling back down to the ground, sort of, and thus later blaming their failure on the language itself?Thanks,Lukas

Hi all, I went to data Jake's site and downloaded and installed, Sapi5_MikeAndMary.msi.Well, when I open the kitchen's games, and tried to make the sapi5 voice change there. I cycled from MS anna to three slightly different versions of ESpeak, and the last choice was silence.I didn't hear any Sapi speech or speech of any kind. in fact, I had to go an uninstall Sapi5_MikeAndMary.msi before I was able to get MS Anna to pop back up and give me something for Sapi as I couldn't even figure out how to shut down the Kitchen's game menu. lolSo... any other suggestions for a decent sapi 5 voice to use with Windows 7? Er yeah, win 7 64 bit I should say.Jakes got a good site and a good resource there. Maybe there's something useful for someone like me. *shrug*Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did try out the SAPI5 version that code factory cells, and on Windows 10 at least, if you loaded it the first time, it took as much as 30 seconds to load. So much, in fact, that I thought it crashed. And the code factory addon has annoying crackles in the middle of words. I've heard somewhere that when you pay for the addon the crackling goes away, but that has steered me away from Code Factory's solution. It's like a salesman presenting you with an old rusty car and saying "but hey, if you buy it I'll fix that car for you and make it look like new!"

hi, i understand you but saying that you have 550 entries in the db when around 50% of the db's entries is abandend or the link is broken is what's noying me allot. why not create a separatte base with all entries that are abandend? i think our database should only hold games that are working because if the entry in the database is broken, it's not a game longer because you can'tt get it, feel free to say your opinion about this guys, i just want to discuss this

jayson? did you take a look at the store? if you do, you will see that most items there can be find in the game, only dfc's and teleporters and the paid account give sam the amount of money he need to pay for his vps etc. regarding the pk system, yeah, it needs some changes, like now, it's not fun to pk if you know that you can be killed by a grenade and shotgun and loos all your items. i get your point guys and i agree with you, but checck the store, why should sam put in storige lockers? we don't need them since we can store all our items in a inventory and the paied account allow us to store as many items as we want. it will also be unfair because the pk will then not be fun, and those who are buying it will have a bigg bennefit over those who can't buy it and you guys will complain about it also.if the pk system could get changed so you didn't loos all your items when you dye it will be more fun to have pk for those who don't have dfc's

@nibar,for my part, I'll simply say that keeping some of those entries around has served me well, since, as you have said, some of them are abandonware and no longer have support provided for them... Sometimes it's necessary to update the entries with that kind of information and to keep them around more for historical purposes or for posterity's sake, since the forum does grow over the years and people will hear about this or that game; it's nice to be able to read about it even if the game is no longer available.  For the life of me I still don't know what Grizzly Gulch is, but people mention it regularly, thus my need to go back and read its entry to collect as much info about it as I can to hold educated conversations concerning that particular game.

The version included with jaws is unfortunately tied to jaws, as it doesn't include the SAPI implementations (a choice probably made by fs to avoid legal problems in regards to exploiting it for use in games or other applications). Rs solo was once also available with jaws (but only the cd version due to space reasons) for sapi5, but that was replaced by rs solo direct and later vocalizer direct, both of which are also locked to jaws. Personally I think that is a bit of a stupid move.

You can even go ahead and purchase products like Killer Instinct ahead of time (KI has a free demo where you can try a rotating character which as of the time of this post is Kim Wu), and even the ultra bundles fror all 3 seasons (entitled the Supreme Edition) if you want S1, 2 and 3 along with the two classic arcade games as well.  Also note that if you have win 10, you can download the game on your device and play with all your characters from s1 2 and 3 (as well as shadow jago if you choose to purchase him), though the classic games aren't available.

hi guys. before i start, this is not mean to crittisise the moderators for how they are doing their work with the database but i think this need to be posted. now to the reason why i created this topic. i want to talk about the database. from what' i'm reading all moderators and members are saying that our base have over 500 games in it. the problem is. over 50% of those games have broken links or are abandend from their own devs. the moderators are saying that we have over 500 entries but many of them have broken links or the game doesn't exists longer.how can we have 550 games if all those games doesn't exists or the link is broken?the database needs a bigg clean and entries have to be removed. we can't say that we have 550 games if over 25% of those games doesn't work or the progects are abandend by the developers. i hope the moderatorsm understand the fact that the database is too spammy with entries that doesn't work, the links a
 re too much to report. if you want, i can make a list ove3r broken links in the db but it's hard since most links are broken. so i hope something can be done about the database. the moderator need to take a look at all the entries and remove many of them.

I probably wouldn't stick this topic since it has lots of replies and such, but whether a formal list of all site ranks needs writing and sticking might be another matter. I haven't previously bothered since it's not hard to find the ranks by looking at the user list, though I can see the logic of including the ranks list with what games they're from in case people are curious. My only concern is where to put the list, since too many topics stuck at the start of site and forum feedback could be something of a pest, and it's not exactly an article or a general game matter.Given that we have had a couple of topics about ranks, it probably counts as a frequently asked question, so I'll edit the list into the sitefaq and give it it's own heading there so people can always read it if needed.

I agree with most of what Mayana has said.  As SLJ says, it is true that basically anything can be coded if the coder is good enough, And if the idea-guy is able to explain every detail of what they want.  In reality, those are very big "Ifs" that are unlikely to line up.This world has far too many "idea guys", because everyone who can code can come up with game ideas and also everyone who can not code can come up with game ideas.  The main difference between those 2 groups is that the coders tend to come up with ideas that are organized and able to be easily coded, and the non-coders smash together random thoughts that would be a nightmare to organize into an actual project.As Mayana said, if a coder came on board to a project like this and produced a playable game, the game no longer belongs to the original "idea man".  Sure his or her name is still on it as the person who came up with the game, but the coder did 90
 % (or more) of the work.  Not only did they do the actual work of coding a working game, but they had to sort through the crazy mess and turn the "idea" into something that can be coded.  That's double work, all because the idea guy wasn't himself/herself a coder.

I'm with drawing my recommendation for this Brother printer. Brother's attitude towards making the printer more accessible was to tell me that I could contact them whenever I needed help.Right. I'm going to stop what I'm doing and wait 24 to 48 hours for them to respond whenever I need to look up something in the manual or to change a printing option. I'm sorry but that's just not acceptable.The printer has been repackaged as close to the way it was when I bought it as I could get it, ready to be returned.My previous printer was an HP inkjet, not only were the manuals in readily accessible PDF files, the printer driver user interface was fully accessible. Who knows, I may end up with an HP laser printer, despite the fact that I wasn't all that happy with the HP inkjet printer the laser printeris replacing.Brother gets a huge thumbs down from me.

VMWare Workstation can be expensive, but a while back before I lost my vision and was working, I needed it for a project at work.The current version of Workstation was version 8, I hadn't seen it yet but I had seen version 7 and wasn't impressed, compared to version 6 it's virtual machines  were very laggy. So I got on eBay and Amazon and found a brand new version 6 for less than half price. It was all I needed for my project.If you don't have to have the latest version, it's one way to get Workstation and save a bunch of money too.

I disagree. If you work closely together with a coder, and tell the coder exactly how you want every single details in the game, you can of course get it as you want it to be. Everything can be coded, if the coder is good enough.

Sam,I hope you keep working on this game because I think it is one of the best I have played.  It is the best free game without exception.  Please, do not let the detractors get you down it is easy for them to solve problems they do not have.  None of them are making games that I like to play as much as this the last was Tank commander.  Yes I wish you could get rid of the cheaters they destroy the credibility of the game and make it so kills are not equal.  Having said that I will not let them ruin the game for me I will keep playing in spight of them.  When I spot a cheater I stop playing immediately and come back later.  If I am in a battle with a cheater I stop, log off and wait a while.  I do not understand why people will cheat to the point that they ruin a well developing game.  I know I can not stop people from cheating but neither will I allow them to stop me from enjoying the game play.  I sincerely believe you can
  solve the problem and will wait patiently until you do.  I hope you have a good summer ando not expect you to make miracles overnight.

Hi.Oh hey, now I know the reason why that button is there, I thought it was something roster related.Something I came up with today, I have the idea that I can record a part of a game I am playing and give you a better example on what my problem is.I would play with a team that you know, against a team that you might not know that good, so you will have a better understanding on what the problem is.So, what is your favorite team and or which roster do you know by heart?
