Not Always Right

Hello.If you want to read about stupid customers, idiotic choices and have a laugh I'd highly recommend the site not always right.You can find it here: www.notalwaysright.com/I check the site from time to time and always get a laugh out of it. I'd be very surprised if someone managed to read through all that the site has to offer as there's tuns of stories.There's more. They have sites like not always learning and other not always sites that are basicly the same thing but with a sertain subject in mind. For example, I believe not always learning might be bassed around school although I haven't checked it out so I could be wrong.Enjoy.

Ambro, I don't regularly use footnotes, so this is just a guess, but try pressing Enter on one of the footnotes that JAWS displays. If that doesn't work, when you are in Microsoft Word--and assuming you are using JAWS 16 or later--press Insert+J, then type the word "footnote" and have a look at the keystrokes that JAWS suggests.Griff, the JAWS Virtual Ribbon Menus make the menus like they would be if they weren't a ribbon, i.e. the ribbon groups are presented as menu items with the options beneath them as submenus. This helps as items in the ribbon are not linear--some items are small and can have one item on top of another whilst others are not, yet others are unusual shapes. The JAWS Virtual Ribbon Menus simplify all of this.Basically, in the top row of a table where the headings are, sometimes people like them with shading (but keep in mind that there should be good contrast), and for the titles to be centred. But that is not really a big 
 issue, don't worry too much about that sort of thing--I never do.I have never experienced the lag you describe. I am using Word 2010 now and have used the web layout view since Word 2003 and also in Word 2007 with no problem.

Wine questions

Hi.I have installed Wine on my Linux server, and I need to use it from the command console. I have a very basic question, which I can't seem to find in the documentation.Does the Wine have a normal c-drive? If yes, how do I access it? I need to run a .exe file without any installer or anything. It should just run in the background as a server and nothing more, but I have no idea on how to put this into the Wine system.I installed Wine using apt-get install, but I can't find the Wine directory. The documentation says it should be in a Wine folder at the root, but it's not there.

I am considering getting one of these, probably the 3b model although sometimes I think a cheap processer and motherboard with a shit cheap case would be far cheaper and more suited to my purposes.I'd mainly want one for downloading and seeding torrents, although I believe I could also get it to behave like a NAS with 1 or 2 HDDS attached or a combination of both.I'd be seeding around 200 to 300 torrents at a time though, with not many of them requesting data,but 10 out of those 300 just might.What do you guys think. Would a pie 3b be cheaper and worth the cash I spend on it or a 
 assembled pc with just a case mother board and processer and things be more suited to my purposes?I certainly wouldn't be using any of it that is the pie or the rough shod pc to do anything else but what I have already said here.On a tight budget, so take that into account too, please. grryf

Ahoy there.A bit late in replying to this topic, but indeed this is the kind of information I have been  looking for.@Cris, its not how to do x y z in word or any other word processer that I have a problem with. All that can be eazily googled and yet I'd buy that book just to donate the cash to NVDA if I had spare laying around atm. But the problem I regularly face is more a question of what to do where and where not to do what. @Afrin, Thank you once again for your informative post. In fact its through examples like these that I learn best.@TJT1234, thank you also, The more perspectives and takes on this as I can get are welcome.And indeed, teachers here wouldn't give a shit if my documents weren't visually attractive.

Thanks TJT1234, I have a question. I've tried Windows and semy colon and it works to read only the footnotes. But to modify them what do you do? The only method is to go in footnote panel or is there a quicker way?Thanks!

While I don't have access to a mac, the best way I found while I still developed in pb was to simply just write your code down in a text file, save it as a .pb file and then run it with the ide or something like that. Honestly though i'd not suggest pb for cross platform, no that's not an anti pure basic rant. And if you do use it for  cross platform, you'll wanna find something besides the default sound library to use.

The manamon solution is painful. A better solution is a heuristic that you use to estimate whether the screen reader has finished speaking or not. For example, based on the length of the text being spoken. That's what Sound RTS does.

Also, if you want to do a list specifically for English dubbed anime fans only, you might have a smaller list than you expect... I listen to dubs occasionally, but I definitely don't do it on a regular basis. For everything except anime specifically set in the west or with western themes, I prefer the Japanese audio.

Apparently the problem is the usb soundcard I'm trying to use, which is a c-media something, won't work, because I need straigh rca to rca cables. The duel rca to 3.5mm converter's not gonna work here.

I have VLC but apparently it is ot fully compatible with bluray discs, even after doing the updates that were required to make blurays play on the software, it failed.  I have another software installed, can't remembe the name, but it's not accessible at all, no links or anything  and no menus whatsoever.   SO, I'm curious what do you guys use out there?   I'd like to find something that'd work for me so I can navigate through chapters, and change audio language to enable audio description.  Thanks in advance-G

I have the 802 board so hopefully I can help.   Make sure you have the RCA connections to the output and not the input on the board, and be sure the volume knobs are turned up for both the mains and the channel strip for your connected hardware.   Also, make sure audio monitoring is enbabled on your line in on the usb sound card,    IF this doesn't work,  test the mixer with headphones on the  unit it's self and heck the line in by connec ting your unit directly to it, bypassing the mixer.

Honestly, I think the best method you're currently going to find is the one that Manamon uses. Basically, speak a sentence or short block of text, then wait for the user to press enter before continuing. This does mean more keypresses for the user, but until the screen reader manufacturers give us a way to tell when their products are talking, I don't think you'll find a better solution.

It all depends on what you wanna do with your pi. If you're looking to play around or even run a server, you don't really need a case as long as you plan to keep in one place, just be mindful it's in a place where you can't trip on a cord. It's not that fragile, but there is no protection, remember. Micro sd cards, depending on where you get them, can be surprisingly cheep. I found my 128gb for like 17 bucks from Microcenter. Although keep in mind that they aren't cheep just cuzz. The silicon that the card's made out of is of much cheaper quality than that of normal sd cards. That's not to say it's not fast, it certainly is even though it's half the write-speed of a normal sdxc card. The good thing about the pi3modelb is that the sd card slot is wy more durable than it used to be. It's friction-fit and not springloaded, and it's just part of the board now, it used to be a plastic insertion to cut costs. I've shak
 en the pi around and the card stays where it is, it's a pretty tight fit.

I have always been told that it is unacceptable for me to write documents that are not visually attractive. This was always drilled into me at school, so over the years, I have collected a vast amount of knowledge about visual formatting, style and appearance.Firstly, I would like to clarify some things. Afrim, actually to end numbering, when you are done with your numbering, instead of pressing Backspace, press Enter a couple of times. The reason for this is that when you press Backspace, your text is still slightly indented as it would be if you were using list styles. And to Ambro, I personally use the JAWS Virtual Ribbon Menu feature as this works for me, but I have been told that it is just avoiding me interacting with the ribbon how "normal" people would. I really don't mind because using the JAWS Virtual Ribbon Menu works best for me, and I still do know how to use the ribbon without it if I ever have to. As to your question about footnotes and such, you might find it easier to press Windows+semicolon. From this list, you can choose which of the different elements you want displayed in the virtual viewer. It is more convenient than navigating to the footnote pane and then back to your text.Now onto my suggestions:Aligning text:Normally, text is left-aligned. Some major headings are centred, though this will depend on the type of document. Text is only right-aligned when you are writing the date on the top of a formal letter. Text that is justified can be difficult for some people with low vision and reading disability to read, so avoid it as much as possible. Justified text is only used for extremely formal documents. I recommend that it be avoided.Text properties:Many blind people struggle with knowing how large or small to make their text, as well as how to show headings, when to emphasise or not to emphasise text, etc. I recommend that you avoid all of this by using styles. There are styles for headings, titles, subtitles, lists, shading and various levels of emphasis. Best of all, all of the styles are accessible to insert and read. However all audio in the game is from a first-person perspective, so sighted players will probably stick with the first-person graphics, but gamers with limited vision may find that the top-down mode is more useful. So to compare the audio perspective to existing games, it's more like Swamp than Entombed in terms of how you navigate and hear your surroundings. but yes if you are in a world that has broken down for whatever reason then it stands to reason that people would hord things. whether it be weapons or food. even the missions we do suggest this to be the case. why would you  bring up to 200 craits of food back from a wearhouse for example. the idea being so that it is stored for future use.yes swamp is a survival game. nobody is denying that. but equally in order to survive in any given situation, you need 2 things. obviously the equipment to survive and a surplus store somewhere. you don't want to be carrying everything around with you all the time only the stuff that you really need. so for example you can keep kit for missions you can keep kit for looting etc.

I actually went back on the game and tried it again today to see if they finally after all this time fixed the horrendous lag, and the answer is a resounding no. I just don't see how anyone, I do mean anyone could play the game with the amount of lag I'm experiencing, which, in my nearly 3 years of MUDding, I have never seen on another system as I have seen on this. This lag is so out past anything I have experienced on another MUD, it's just crazy. I know I have complained along this score before, but its honestly disappointing to me because I like what I see, but I just can't deal with a 300ms to 2s lag on every single command I type, whether its looking in a bag, reading a sign or whatever. And no, I don't consider the commands that give you roundtime to be lag because its a design feature, just to be clear, I have no problem with that. I don't know if its a bad network, bad code, or both, maybe the codebase is taking up too much memory on the mach
 ine and disk swapping is occurring. I never hear people talk about this so I'm curious, how do you get used to this lag. I not only can't, I won't. If you want people to play on your game then you need to do everything in your power to make the thing run smoothly and efficiently. MUDding is a dying art and everything is in competition, so fix your code. I think also if they know they have network issues, to be straight with the playerbase and maybe they can kick in to help get Clok running on a better server. It sounds to me like they got a sloppy coder or two on there not caring or not skilled enough to write clean, tight, efficient code. Man its so disappointing, I want to play, but I can't be dealing with that kind of lag on every single stinking thing I type, its like being on dial-up again. I don't expect anything to be done at this point, I'm just grumbling.

... map running isn't really fun, everyone's looking forward to well, the hard maps which takes a lot of looting to get the Equipment you  need to survive there, and the missionsEh. I disagree Actually, when it became pretty much essential to not just run missions constantly, but to have already run missions constantly to participate, that's about where I stopped playing. Don't misunderstand me, Kakarot; missions and the higher level maps are fun and I want to play them. But That whole deal when you're level 1-5 and have to actually try and stealth around zombies and try to figure out where to go looting and such is actually more fun in some ways--death feels like a loss, but that just means you get out and go looting again.I've always kinda been on the same page as Aprone with regards to storing items. Swamp is not a game about becoming a God who prances about all day basking in their unstoppable power. It's a game about surviving when society crumbles and deadly monsters are around every corner. Rep inflation was an issue way before things went crazy, so it's no surprise that so many items aren't buyable.Actually, this:i mean who wants to be seen as a constant begger?kinda sounds like the reputation system, except for real.Like, rep isn't money. It's people's willingness to trust/support you with equipment and responsibilities. The in-game version is that you can't constantly buy things if you keep losing it without putting it to good use.If we didn't have trading, you'd just have to go find things and build up enough rep to buy things But...When rare items get involved, this starts to get a little more stressful. So, anyone remember how late 1980s-early 1990s games didn't have much in the way of a persistent world or equipment, so you kept things until they were used up, lost, or even just when you completed the current level? You sorta find rare items with the understanding that you're not going to get to keep them for very long, even if (nay, especially if) you do everything right.But in longer free-roaming games where you can save items, and it takes much more time and effort to find the coolest stuff, that understanding kinda starts to break down.You know? to me, this is starting to look like people should die more often, and rare items should be a tad easier to obtain. But this is a survival game, not Duke Nukum, so I dunno How did that turn into proposing a compromise? I was just trying to say that I like running maps!

I'd recommend the pi3model b. It's the latest model, and is perfect for running things like servers, Amazon Alexa if you can get that running on there, etc. It has built-in wifi and bluetooth 4.1, 4 usb host ports, an ethernet port, hdmi, and a headphone jack, although keep in mind the headphone jack is high-impedance with no volume control, so be mindful what headphones you use with it, i e if you're using any studio-quality noise canceling headphones, make sure they're well way from your ears.

well that would be a good use of quest points. I've only ever done 1 quest and have never bothered since because of the whole thing of quest points being worth nothing. to be able to stash more stuff yourself would make you loot more i think. it certainly would me. i would want to put away a percentage of what i found at any given time and keep it there. even if it was at a single sz. having your stuff accessed through a single sz of your choice makes more sense rather than being able to access it at any given sz. that would make things too easy IMO. i would always be scared to die because well what if i haven't got enough of what i need stashed away? I'd need to be able to replace it. don't forget whilst you can carry multiples of armor ammo etc you can only carry 1 of each weapon type or i should say you can only loot 1 of every weapon type at a time. so if you wanted multiples of any given weapon you'd have to loot it then run back to your
  stash, drop it, then go back to where you found said weapon and pick up another and keep doing it until you feel you have enough of that weapon type. so gathering a good stash of any given weapon for example would take time and in my opinion wouldn't be that easy. you could be killed somehow on your way back to your stash which then means not only do you have to replace that weapon you looted, you then need to equip yourself with additional armor and ammo. so i would say there are risks to stashing your stuff as well. the problem with the whole thing of losing everything when you die is that you then have to equip yourself with whatever you can find. that's normal even if you're looking for stuff to stash but having to constantly ask players to help you get back on your feet again well it forces them to use their stuff not only that, it's just annoying and quite frankly disheartening to have to keep doing that all the time. i mean who wants to be seen as 
 a constant begger? i certainly don't and it seems like that's all I'm doing lately.

That's exactly it. For example, I just did some simple math, and if every person I'm Facebook friends with donates just $10, we'll be well over our funding goal. Now obviously that won't happen - lots won't donate, and some will donate more - but it shows how easy it could be to meet this goal. Suppose just ten of you from this forum shared the project with 300 people on Facebook - even if only one in ten people who see the link donate an average of $10, we'll be fully funded. The more people who see it, the lower the proportion becomes - so the more people you share with, the better our odds of getting funded will be, even if people are doing very small donations.So yes, I'll definitely be sharing the link here, and I will appreciate it so much if any of you can plaster it all over the place, as blindndangerous so eloquently put it.

@sneak too expensive but I Think it's a good idea.Better sz stuff to begin with, and you should be able to spend quest Points on loot only items. That would encourage people to quest more and wouldn't discourage people who died 24/7 (such as myself haha)I'm also in favor of xp for questing, maybe say 2000 per quest ... that's 6k per day ... well perhaps that should be a value for each quest then  the xp given is based on your level.I'm also fond of the idea to get xp as you loot. This would going out to loot actually be Worth while other than for the simple sake of regaining something you lost.You could get a sense of achievement / purpose as you jjungled your way through all those piles of loot with ammo and more ammo while as right now, my feeling is that it only is your punishment for dying since well ... map running isn't really fun, everyone's looking forward to well, the hard maps which takes a lot of looting to

And it looks like that may have been true after his victory. What really confused me, though, is how the candidates, who had been busy bashing and bashing each other just a day earlier, magically begin to congratulate Trump on his victory right after he wins. I guess they finally, after trump won, realized they had to settle their differences and ease the transition for him. Or maybe that's politics at its finest. I still think if we put Clinton and Fart I mean trump in a cage, they would fight and fight until one of them died. And diving boards? [[wow]], I have been wanting to go on one for a very long time, the sensation has always been wonderful for me. And 
 since I have learned how to swim, even on my back which I had trouble with before, I won't have a major drowning accident like I did the last time I went on one. Those swimming courses definitely will help me later on oh no? The Russian's are attacking us! Dive under the table guys! Cover your head!  Anyway, at last, I am home. The ride was extremely long, and even longer if you count the rest stops, but at last, I am back home. @Nocturnus, Keep grabbing those genitals! I support you, fully and wholeheartedly! I was wondering about that labelling feature. Does anyone remember when the title of Freedom Scientific's homepage displayed as: "Freedom Scientific: Too Expensive Products for the Visually Impaired!" I do. The first time I saw that, it scared the ever loving shit out of me, because I thought it was malware. But after some time I realized that it was something to do with Webvisum. I had no idea that there was a database of labels that folks could edit until reading this topic, so that put to rest a nagging question I'd had in the back of my mind for quite some time. And there really shouldn't be a publicly editable database, if I'm understanding this correctly, if you want my honest opinion. But I haven't seen anything like that in quite awhile either, so I thought the problem was under control.

Hi.After more than 30 trys, I finally managed to complete the mission where I had to avoid Germany. I think I know what trickers the error I kept getting while parking.If you have not entered Germany and tried to complete the mission where you get the message that you've entered Germany and can not complete the mission because of this, you keep getting the error at the end of the mission. But if you: 1: Enter Germany and then try to complete the mission. 2: Avoid Germany and then complete the mission, you will be able to complete the mission successfully without getting the error after having parked.Can you please check up on this, if I'm right or wrong? I might make a new profile to check up on this.In the same mission, if I tried to avoid Germany by flying south, I got told to enter the freequency, but I never got the number and collided with an other flight. I need to experiment more with that though. That happened to me more than 5 times, and 
 it happened each time I tried.I'm really glad that I now can continue the missions, and i hope you find this helpful, and you'll be able to look into that.

Hi everyone,I recently struck up what I felt was a proper friendship with Lukas, and we started emailing each other. He was helping me get the hang of BGT, and the last email he sent me involved him asking for some files. He said he'd done so once before but I hadn't received that message. I responded readily as soon as I saw this one.That was near the beginning of November and I haven't heard a peep from him since. I checked his profile the other day and saw that he was last active a month ago. I'm starting to get worried. If it was only a couple weeks of silence I'd just assume he was busy. But it's been two months and I've sent periodic emails with no answers forthcoming.I know it's a stretch but I've honestly tried every other avenue I can think of and this is the last option left to me. Can anyone here tell me if he's okay at least? I don't want to know details, just that he hasn't died or some d
 isaster hasn't overtaken him. I know that sounds dramatic but since he's not telling me anything I don't know what to think. You can send your answers via PM if you're more comfortable with that. In fact, that might be best all round. If I get an answer via PM I'll delete this topic.

Hello,if you want to stream sound from your android to the pc, and this stream not need to go over the internet, jack cable is the best way. Root is not required, also there is no need to have some technical knowhow.Only what you need to do is connect one end of cable to your phone, second to the mic connector in your pc, and in windows set this new microphone to play in realtime, so you can hear what you're doing on your phone.do not mistake microphone for real microphone here, I know that your phone is not microphone, hovever windows must see it as a microphone, which input is streamed audio.When connected by this way, you can do in your pc with sound what you want, I have for example recorded some audiotutorials on my phone, and quality was for used method very good, for example tutorial for swiftbraille from me was recorded by this way.It has no lags, only what you can expect is some clicking of sound, this is for soundcards of some phones, b
 ecause they are sleeping after few seconds of inactivity, hovever I think that it is only bug of my device, and I passed it easyly by playing looped sound file with generated quiet from audacity, so nothing from this file was hearable in recording, but soundcard was not sleeped, and that was goal, sound was after it without clicking.If there is need for audio to go over internet, then thirdparty applications are needed, but I can not imagine for what streaming to far can be usefull.Best regardsRastislav

I love the idea of all the improvements others are suggesting. It's driving me crazy only having one airport in some of the places in  the states I wish to fly. Improved act would go a long way towards making this better and the not having to go up and down so much when flying.

Hi all,@Arnost18, do you mean a creating of new missions? Yes it is possible. I'll write some guide for it in next days and put it to official helpcenter. If youhave completed all missions, don't vory :d Eurofly is newer ending story and with completing the last official mission is ending only you qualification,not your job as pilot in Eurofly :d. If you complete all missions, the tasks generator will be activated and you will have still new and new tasks. Of course, without some story. But it is possible also to create a new missions with new stories and give them to other users as an tasks extension for Eurofly. I hope wewill do it.   @Billy, for unlocking planes of 2. category, you have to reach level 3 and for unlocking planes of 3. category you need to reach level 5. For reaching a new level, you need to complete 10 tasks.@SLJ, type you the frequency with , or .? I don't agree that death storage would cause players to loot more. The players who regularly loot don't really have difficulty getting their gear again, and the ones who don't can barely get their own sets of gear, so storing stuff wouldn't really help them. What would help everybody would be the ability to purchase better load-outs for when you die. For example, you could spend 25 QP to get 3 pieces of armor randomly selected from a random armor rating, and 50 points to select a new weapon, also randomly selected from the list of weapons. So you could end up with the crossbow, or with a chainsaw, but they wouldn't stack; only one starting weapon. If you didn't like your new weapon, you would buy another roll, same for armor.

I suppose I could record the messages I want spoken by NVDA which would solve the issue, but not very elegantly. I could also use a screen reader specifically for this game. How would I go about doing that? I know games like sound RTS use its own screen reader. I downloaded the source code for sound rts, and located where the speech functions were, but  I didn't understand them though. Are these the solutions people are using to build there games? or are there other ways of getting speech and forcing the timing of the speech output to be spoken at the correct time?
