Thanks, I'll check out that alesis thing. I am happy to invest in good quality pads, just I couldn't help noticing the good Roland pads come with a module that often costs a grand on its own, which I would only be using as an interface for the pads, so it feels a bit wasteful. And the good thing about the alesis thing if it works with good pads is that it would allow me to just start with a few basic pieces like kick snare hat and ride to see how I take to e-drums.The thing I've always had trouble with playing drums on a keyboard is that not being a good keyboard player, I have a hard time playing convincing fills.

Nothing like that at the moment. And that's just one of those gimics that isn't explained... because the developers obviously don't care enough to, it's just cool to have them speaking to each other in their own native language. There's never been any attempt to explain it, I think they just figure people won't overanalyse the game that much and if they do, realize that this whole thing is purely there as a novelty and has no connection to the universe. It is cool though, as you don't hear a lot of Chinese, korean and all these other languages in games very often.

I haven't found that sort of problem, but as I said a couple of captchas just plane didn't work. this one on flight of dragons seems to be coming and going.   the audio alternative worked no problem. Today it worked, but required multiple solutions (at least four), and then stopped working again. I assumed that it started! working because the admins got my in game mail and solved the problem, but now I am genuinely not sure, I've sent another mail but I'm about ready to give up with this one.

hello, I have some suggestions I hope that'll be useful. first, do something for that times the game can't load something or can't connect to the server so we can press escape and cancel the operation and try again, now if the game couldn't for example connect to the server, we'll stuck in it and we can't do anything except closing and reopening it.next, make it so we could cancel the chat input by pressing escape. rather than find the cancel button and pressing it.next, if the interact button was enter, that would be better. don't know the reason .and something else. my archive has that error when I extract it.CRC failed : dmnb\sounds\planet\room9.ogg  2 of 2my fault or archive's fault?and that is 1 beautiful game.good luck

Okay. I'll try to explain how to look for hidden exits or ways to climb in the cave:Walk up to a wall, move the camera one tile in the wall, move it up like two tiles, and move it backwards or forwards. You need to search very carefully to find the exits or places where to climb.To get up from the water where you dive and swim under the wall, there is one place where you can go a few steps upwards. Then you have to move one tile, and climb up again. Then you are up above the water area, and you have, if I remember correctly, three paths to the west and two paths to the east. Now I don't remember what direction I was phasing. You have to walk to the place where you have a hall to one of the sides, which have two enterences. When you climb down the hall, you can go around in a square and come up in the bigger room again through the other exit of the hall. In this hall, you have to go to the end, where you have to search very carefully with the camera to find a 
 one tile place where you can climb up.Damn i wish I was better at explaining things...

Nope, this topic was posted before he got banned. He actually got banned for his repeated and constant pestering messages to, --- well everyone to remove his bans from other online games, and despite a lot of warnings on the subject didn't take any notice. I banned him for a month, then within a second of coming back he started up again, so Sebby banned him for another five months. If he doesn't learn his lesson next year we'll have ban him permanently, which we hope we won't have to do, but there it is.

Greetings all. So our changes for today. You've had more than a few days to prepare for this and now its happened. Autopilot is now gone. For those who have difficultys using manual pilot, it simply works like this. You press r to locate an object you want to track, and use r to keep track of the heading you need to fly on as you fly. Its like the v key on the ground. With that out of the way. Since other planets once you build a spaceport on them can now accept cargo, you'll be told of the galactic coordinates to jump to, as well as the coordinates in that system where the object is located. In addition, you can now load cargo at inderion station as it'll now register docked ships.

Considering how hard it would be to reacquire the games, I can fully understand that.I have a computer chess game that I can't play because it wasn't designed for blind players, nor could it be adapted for blind use because of the way it works. But I refuse to sell it because it is so very rare. I spent ten years looking for it and only found two people selling one of them. I got lucky and stumbled across the one I got at a price I could hardly believe at the time. Since
  then I have never seen another one for sale anywhere.

Here you go, this is a rar file, once unpacked, there is a folder inside the folder called root dir, copy the files from out of there into your mushclient's install directory, or the place where you unzipped it, if you got the portable copy. The xml file that is outside that folder goes under /worlds/plugins. You then have to add it into mushclient. I suggest that you do so globally, so that it is loaded into each world you create. To do this, navigate to file > preferences, control tab to the plugins tab, then tab to the add button, select this, and find mushreader.xml from the list. Once done, you can press OK. Now, Mushreader is loaded into every world. Another way is individually add the plugin to each world. To do this, press control shift P, tab to the add button, and find the mushreader.xml in the dialog that pops up, then hit close. If you do it this way, you need to hit control S, or to go
  file > save as the changes to the world file, the .MCL file need to be written.hth

If I understand Sendspace correctly, a Pro link is a direct download without having to land on a Sendspace page first, and only paid accounts generate them. I have no idea why the vault isn't using them, it's possible they aren't using paid Sendspace accounts, I'm not privy to that aspect of the vault, I'm just a supplier of descriptive audio tracks I've extracted from DVD or Blue Ray discs that I've either rented or bought.If you encounter a broken download, be sure to send an email  to the link on any movie vault page and Lee will fix it, he'll send you a reply when it's fixed, all usually within 24 hours.It's been a while since I last encountered a broken download, but I have never seen even a hint of cloudflare, so I don't know what that is. If I was interested enough I could always Google it.

I think Python might not be the problem, because audiogames usuallyrequire little processing power. Even if you need to do thousands ofcalculations per frame, you can use C extensions that interface withPython to do that for you.To see what is causing the problem, you can use a profiling module (likecProfile), which tells you the functions that are taking the most time in your game.

Yeah, I've encountered situations where error or other extraneous messages hide or make a mess of the text I'm interested in. It really gets challenging if the messages are displayed in a way that's invisible to the screen reader, then you have no idea why what your reading sounds like alphabet soup. Fun, fun, fun.

Well I tried captcha begone on another one and it worked. However ironically flight of dragons, the game that caused the problem in the first place now have fixed  audio captcha alternative, either that or it was a server side issue with google. I'll try captcha begone on it since it might be that it was not displaying correctly while I was getting that silly error message, goddness knows. Since I've paid for a year of this I might as well see how it works, as I am always running into captchas, especially in  browser games, I was just disappointed on its effectiveness on the first few I tried.

I still have my Apex, and I agree it's a fab reading machine. But I've always wanted to upgrade to 40 cells. So what would be your recommendation for that, do you think?@TJT1234 basically because it's slow, and creates the obligation to keep your device unlocked, and to be in Bluetooth range, and because it's not as free and fluid, or aesthetically pleasing, or other reasons which don't matter because they're mine, mine I tell you, and nobody's interfering with them but me. Alesis makes what's called an Alesis Trigger I/O which essentially alets you connect pads to the computer through a USB interface, it's far cheaper than a Roland module.  My first module was a TD-3 and  it was probably the easiest module to work with.  Very basic though, just a 5 piece with two cymbals and a dual zone ride and hat.   A Roland HD series kit  is a plug and play solution for stuff like what you mentioned, it has the basic of basics like just a crash, ride,  and a 5 piece with hats as well.   compact  and not expandable at all, I don't think, but  definitely wiol. get your foot in the door.With AD2, to trigger, you have to be able to change midi notes and the whole mapping  preset, which they have presets for Rolamd modules but without the aux  mapped properly, however, with this  project, you can nidividually map pieces, so you can trigger 
 stuff on the drum rims as well.  I have all intentions of using this as not just a drum loop or sampler, but in live environments again.  I love my DW's but sometimes, they just don't work in  some venues, haha.   flackers wrote:I'd love to have a go at a TD type drumkit. hi blindncool: interesting question. If you're new to linux and are looking for something that quote unquote just works, arch may not be the best distro to start out with. However, if you have a bit of time and don't mind potentially going on an adventure with your physical or virtual machine, I have made a text and menu driven program that will give you an accessible arch or android installation, with verry little need to tinker with the nitty gritty ins and outs of partitioning, disk encryption and whatnot. The program, called autobuild, along with my other projects, can be found on my web server. Since the installation process wipes out the selected disk, I would recommend using a hypervisor such as vmware or virtualbox to try the installation. If you need help, I can be emailed at dnl.nash[at]gxmxaxixlx.xcxoxm, removing the x's and replacing the [at] with the convensional simbol for email addresses. Also, if you have google hangouts, feel free to drop me a line 
 if you need any assistance.

Where can I read about it eing accessible for the blind using Logic and Reaper?   Are you able to have full control over kit piece parameters and midi note mapping?  Im not here to compete with anyone, I'm just trying to help by working with what I have and yeah even though I'm working within Sonar, I do plan to make this work with other applications  including Pro Tools, Reaper, and Logic.   I also plan to attack Pro Tools and see if we can make it accessible like we did with Sonar X3 and Platinum.   Just cdon't know when.Using it stand alone is not uncommon in the v drums community.  I even used to do it all the time with Superior Drummer 2, however, when I lost my vision, I lost that ability.  I use it in environments where I play an electronic kit live and want to use acoustic sounds.  Very handy in small venues and what not.

Hi,@ksapergia: This is really odd. This happens over time? Are you sure the WebTTS option is turned off? If none of that helps, try maximizing the window. Speech output is done through a HTML element in the window, not sure if that needs to be visible or not... I've never had this issue.SLJ: _javascript_ keeps evolving. Browsers also keep evolving. Google Chrome wasn't around back in the days of Tarzan Junior. Since then, we have gotten things like the web audio API which allows for complex audio programming, things like WebTTS and joystick input, WebGL for graphics etc. _javascript_ engines kept getting faster and faster, most browsers now ship with one that does just-in-time compilation instead of interpretation to execute code even faster, this used to not happen.But not even just that. _javascript_ itself has grown and has more features than it did. ES6 introduced the class syntax which looks pretty similar to BGT. Under the hood it still works differen
 tly, but it makes for much easier code understanding and easier to work with. I guess you could just say that browsers and computers evolved enough so audiogames aren't a big deal anymore. @Jeff: possible, but probably not very likely. Unless of course someone wants to add it for me.  I'm closer than ever to putting it on Github. So if anyone's interested in doing something with it get ready.

midi keyboards: Any recommendations?

Hi all.So, I'm thinking about diving quite seriously into midi and explore this huge world. Currently, I only know the basics, and I don't know if I'll be addicted to making music. For this reason, and because I want something quite small and portable, I'm looking for some small midi keyboard. I have a ton of choices here in my country. Do you have any recommendations? Or should I just visit some of the shops, check them out and pick the keyboard which feels right for me? It would be cool to have a midi keyboard with drumpads as well. It's just unbelievable how cheep they are...Regarding the software and instruments which comes with some of the keyboard, is there something which I should look out for? Something accessible, something inaccessible or is it not worth it to look at? I'm planning to either use Reaper or Logic. I think I'll buy Logic because of all the instruments and stuff, and because it have a huge huge manual as well.It would be great to hear your recommendations and thoughts regarding to all this...

for the demo, unfortunately that's only in japanese, and you can only get it from the japanese / asian PlayStation store.however for the full game, it has been released in june 27th in north america and 3 days later in europe. by default, if you are playing the english version, the game sets to the english voice tracks, however you can change it to japanese if anyone wants to.also note, this game is a cutscene-heavy, so I recommend you to grab something while listening to it, most of them are like 5 to 10 minutes. as for the gameplay, you basically run around, killing enemies while defending yourself, just like the usual beat-em-ups or braullers with some strategy and RPG elements. I haven't tried the full game yet, but later I'm going to test this one out.

Hi.So I promised to set up a server later today, and here is some quite bad news:I thought Wine on my server was running everything in 64 bit, but that doesn't seem to be the case. When I try to run the new RTR server, it says something about x86 and 64 bit, and then it stops running... Currently, I have no clue on how to fix that, and I don't have more time to look at this week. I'm sorry, but that's the current status. I have downloaded many multicarts and unlicensed ROMs from the CaH4e3 site. I do not use EmuVT much, instead I use FCEU-mm, which runs some ROMs that are not supported by EmuVT due to mappers.The Nanjing games are very typical in these clones, apart from the sound engine, it is by the style of music.I have not played Somari in a real Famicom, as you know I never had one, nor did I really know one.Post 7I know a dance mat, but I never used it, and I do not remember the songs I had. As for consoles and Chinese stuff, I have not seen too many reviews because they are in English, and I'm not good at understanding too much. Fortunately there are many videos of the PolyStation in Spanish for my luck.

The problem you're having is indeed your antivirus. It removes the STW.exe file because it things it's a virus, and then your computer complains about the missing shortut which is true, because the crappy antivirus you are using removes the file it needs. That's a typical thing with Windows defender which is standard in windows 10. It can be quite tricky to turn off, but I got so pissed at the program, so I manually removed it from my computer.I don't remember the exact steps to turn off the antivirus or how to let a file or folder pass through. But you can access the settings from Windows defender in the control panel, mess around a bit until you find the settings you need. The settings are accessible, at leased if you are using NVDA, they are just complicated to figure out.If you are using an other antivirus, then I'm afraid I can't be much helpful.You need to configure your antivirus to at leased allow what you are trying to run. 
 The best thing would be to set it to never delete something automatically. If you don't do that, you'll continue to have this issue.I'm sorry if you find my way of saying this harsh. That's not what I ment to do.

As I work on it some more. The shortcut is suppose to open up the file “stw.exe.” when I look at the filed source that was installed the “stw.exe” file is not in there so I think the shortcut is searching for this missing file what was never installed. When I install the game it installs without issue, but why is this “stw.exe” file missing? Kodanna

I have already shared this awesome news, and both blind and sighted people here in my country are amazed.I would love to see accessibility features added into more games in the future as well, but one step at the time to see how Madden turns out world wide. Damn, this is going to be epic! I think I'll start to like sports games, but I must admit that I don't know, because I haven't been able to play one of the mainstream sports games yet, accept for Fight night round 3, which was a lot of fun.Online tutorials would be a great start. So I see all the mods throw a fit when users request commercial products. Personally I don't see a problem and sense this is a international forum are we really held by American Copy Right laws? And if users want to share links to stuff posted on there own dropbox or drive than who's right is it to stop them from doing so? I asked for a game that was no longer being produced and the mods throw a fit just because it was a payed game.

@Ross:If I remember correctly, you have to go to the east part of the area. Go down a hall, and there at the end, you'll find a very small whole in the wall where you can go upwards. It's very difficult to find, but it is there.@John1: The treehouse is in the north east section of the forrest. It's quite difficult to find. Track one of the trees, climb up, be careful they are very high, and then check if you found the right tree which leads to the treehouse. There are four trees up to the treehouse if I remember correctly, but be careful, they can be cut down. If you try to get down from the treehouse when the tree is cut, you'll die.What's up there? Well, that's up to you to discover. I tell you, it's cool up there and it is worth it.

No, I don’t think the Antivirus is the problem here. Each time I attempt to use the shortcut a dialog box alerts me that the computer is trying to find the file STW. When it cannot find it, the computer alerts me that the file was either changed or moved; therefor, the shortcut will no longer work. I have neither changed nor moved any file. I’ve downloaded the game into a location where I could attempt to run it from its source, but there is no way to do this that I’ve found. Any other suggestions?Kodanna

That's the trouble with technology for the blind, it's all so over-priced. I have a pearl camera to go with the FreedomScientific's OpenBook software. It's seems to me to be just a glorified webcam and it costs a small fortune.The price of OpenBook and pearl together is outrageous, especially given OB isn't very good at all for reading books, which is ironic given that's the whole point of it. I only really use it as a convenient scanner. On the rare occasion I have to read a physical book, I scan it in OB, export it, and read it in QRead because it's a much nicer experience.Luckily I was given a copy of OB, and the RNIB gave me a grant that covered two thirds of the cost of the pearl camera, so the whole set up cost me just over 200 quid. Thank god these organisations exist to help us in Britain now local authorities have next to no money to fund what I believe are fundamental tools blind people need to live an independent life
 .On the subject of the mobility watch, I experimented with holding my miniguide in a way that mimicked having it strapped to the wrist, i.e., holding it in a clenched fist so it points the same way as having it on the wrist, just a few inches lower down the arm. I actually found it works well holding it that way, and now hold it like that all the time.

Have to agree with Orko and Jack on this one. It's time to let this go and move on to bigger and better things. This actually reminds me of a certain episode of The Simpsons. The show's writers wanted to have one of the characters sing Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald into a toy microphone that broadcast to a radio. Unfortunately Gordon Lightfoot arranged things so that in order for anyone to obtain the rights to use that song for anything they had to get permission from the families of all 29 victims of that tragedy, so it would probably have been more trouble than it was worth. I see the same situation here for these games. I think we just have to accept the fact that, sad as it is the games are gone and most likely won't be coming back.

hi, does anyone have any tips on how to navigate through stage 21-2? The farthest I've gotten is up the latter at 150,10, up to 150,60, traverse the platform until I get past the security camera at 212,36, fall down to around 207,0, but before I can get to the latter at 310,0, one of the cameras spots me and so many enemies spawn that I can't even hear my speech... I'm loving the game though...

It appears that your antivirus program thinks that the game executable contains a virus and therefore is blocking you from running the game. You could check in the settings if there was a way to configure it so that it doesn't go messing into the stw folder, then reinstalling survive the wild.

I thought it was fairly clear. The movie vault costs the Blind Mice Mall money and resources. They actively ask for donations to help keep the vault alive. I support them by shopping at the mall and donating descriptive audio tracks I have acquired at my own expense to them to put in the vault for others to enjoy.I enjoy the movies and shows I get from the vault and am willing to do what I can to help keep it alive.Does st.mc support them in any way, or does he just download content from their site to put on his own?. I would guess that it's the latter rather than the former. That is why I would never use his mirror.

Hi,I'm having a problem playing Cycle Path. I was able to play the game using NVDA for speech output as the web TTS doesn't seem to work for me. However, it's now at the point where every time I start the game, I get no speech output at all after pressing Space to skip the intro. I can tell I'm in a menu, but the options don't speak. After pressing Enter a few times, I eventually get to what I think is the actual game, but there's no sound. This has occurred with both the web version using Firefox, and the Windows 64-bit version.Is there a way to resolve this? Hello, I attempted to download this game. When I did, each time an error comes up and tells me the file that the shortcut represents is missing or has been moved. I’ve attempted to download the setup from Audiogames.net, the forms, and the STW home page, but none of them worked for me. I’ve also attempted reinstalling the game multiple times. Am I missing something? Can anyone help me out?Kodanna

anyone ever heard of a game called valkyria revolution?

hi everyone, I was wondering, has anyone ever heard of this tactical strategy game from the valkyria chronicles franchise? if you don't know, valkyria revolution is a spinoff from valkyria chronicles.also, this game is more focused on actions rather than strategy, but there are little elements from the original too. basically this is a hack and slash title, with little shooting parts like in the original, but for shooting it's not really important, you just need to hack and slash your way through the end.yesterday, I've tried the japanese demo of the game, it seams the game is playable enough, at least in the prologue. I'm thinking to buy the full game, but I'm not sure if this one is fully playable or not. so, everyone ever tried this one?it's agame for PS4, PS vita, and for the first time for the Xbox one.

Moderation! Firstly this is about games so belongs in general game discussion not the offtopic room, secondly since the games were commercial we can't have requests for them on this site, or hand around free copies. This is a serious shame when the developer has gone bust like Malinche, but it is what it is. In fairness though Malinche's games were generally a big fuss about nothing, I played the demos at the time (though not endgame since it did not have a demo), and really while they were fairly good interactive fiction games in the standard zcode object manipulation type, there are plenty of other good if games kicking around, ones which did not cost 40 dollars each.

according to him, that is the case. The accessibility scripts are only built for sonar, or standalone. Who the fuck uses standalone vst's? Something needs to be made for reaper, and logic. People aren't going to learn a new daw just to use one plugin that already half works on their host.

I do plan on having some sort of tutorial outside of the game. I'll post here when it's available.I agree that online separate tutorials aren't a great long-term solution, but I'll do what I can for now.The biggest win here so far is that the game play team has played Madden blindfolded, which has silenced those who said it would be too difficult to adapt Madden that far. This has dramatically changed discussions on what's possible.One step at a time.- Karen Stevens
