The reason I asked whether it was possible to return a vector is that when I try doing that, I get the "not all paths return a value" error. It was always a heavy android skin. My $65 cheapo special goes like hell, I'd go so far as to say it's faster under the finger than voiceover, which has always felt the slightest bit more sluggish though I do think that is by design more than anything. Anyway, it runs stock android, no overlays or anything and the latest talkback. You can return vectors—you can return just about anything—but the power function only works with individual numbers. (You could write a version that takes a vector, I suppose...)The reason for the error after you tried just using the x component is because power returns a double, but drag is a vector. You can use the first version if you write a power function to work with vectors; otherwise, you'd need to set the drag components individually. The vector object overloads the arithmetic operators, but it's still a distinct type where functions are concerned.So something like:vector power(vector v, double exponent) { vector ret (power(v.x, exponent), power(v.y, exponent), power(v.z, exponent)); return ret;} ... as a global function. Come to think of it, something like this should probably go in my math file.I don't actually remember if the power function works with fractional exponents. If it does, you can just use 0.5 for square roots and be done with the one.

Re: Why I left Linux and Android Since I'm strongly considering a career in IT, I've been playing with all these systems except Linux. Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses. I know I used to criticize Microsoft Windows pretty hard for lack of built-in accessibility, but that has changed over the past year. Now I'm using Windows 10, macOS, iOS and to a lesser extent Android.As long as you stick to the latest version of Android or can get at least Android 5.0, you're good to go for nearly all daily tasks. I started out using Kitkat and wasn't really impressed with it. Web views caused TalkBack to freeze and I found the nonworking accessibility shortcut to be unacceptable. Fortunately, Lollipop fixed these issues and it's only been getting better. As soon as LineageOS 15 is available for my 2013 Nexus 7, I'm jumping onto Android 8.0 Orio.I love using macOS. The only problems I've run into are the horrible PDF support (which is vastly improved in the upco ming High Sierra release) and the lack of native MTP support in the Finder. This is extremely irritating because it means I have to use third party applications to access the internal storage of my Android device. I'd rather just plug it in and get access to the files in the Finder. As for Linux, I don't have the motivation to touch that just yet. There are so many distributions and I don't know which ones include Orca. I also don't like that the only choice of speech is the very robotic version of eSpeak. I've also heard that Orca has some problems, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Then again, Linux is more suited to running servers rather than standard GUI computing from what I've read. When the game went live, it didn't have any air moves.But there are some bigger lapses that have yet to be addressed:Recobrah's best sound move is Sonic Boom.Ninjarkon's best shadow move is Shadow Claw, despite Oblivion Slash being a superb fit for it (it has blades, this is a shadow move that uses dark blades, you get the picture)Ghoperto's best ghost move, aside from Night Terror, is Tricky Gaze.The Tadder line is stuck with either Power Surge or Lightning Bolt for electric-type STAB.Bombusect's best insect attack is Fang Drain.Rhinodyo is a physically-oriented sound type which gets exactly one worthwhile sound move (Sonic Missile)...and that move is special-based.Squarpha is stuck using Bubble Burst and Tri-Beam for STAB instead of, say, Drench and Meteor Rush.Donnammer gets Charge twice in its level-up movelist...y'know, in case we forgot it the first time and also forgot there's a move tutor who could help us remember it.Grandlan gets Toxic Tail, Blaze Rampage and at least one other half-decent move from the move tutor. This isn't a problem; it's awesome. Why the blue hell can't some other manamon get stuff like this?The Boible line gets no attacking moves except standard ones; in other words, a level 60-something Bayowoof can die to something like a level 1 Snowmonno. This is absolutely unacceptable. And no, Spirit Staff items don't really count here; most other manamon aren't neutered this way without having to sacrifice their item slot. This makes a fairly bad manamon much worse.But then, I shouldn't be surprised by any of this. It took a lot of arm-twisting just to get a 60-power fighting type move, Power Punch, on the Palador line - learned at level 47, by the way - because apparentl y the developer was afraid it would be too strong otherwise. Uh. Right. Too strong, because it's not doubly weak to magic, an extremely common attacking type. Overpowered, despite being slow and possessing a fairly long list of other weaknesses, and no other fighting attacks except Rookie Kick. Yes, Tenshaino at high levels is fairly good, but isn't that the freaking point? You have to get it to level 68 - no, that's not a typo - before it learns Hone Blades, its most dangerous move. And it's not like it's a speed demon either; also, its special defense isn't terribly great. In other words, the fact that we had to basically plead for something this manamon should've had from day 1 is a very strong indicator that the things on this list above which don't make sense are probably because, I dunno, giving Bayowoof something like Tunnel, or giving Frorgerol Superspark, or giving Squarpha Drench, or giving Ghoperto Spirit Force, would, in the develo per's eyes at least, wreck the game. Heaven forbid we actually use any of our five moveslots for effective same-type attacks! Oh, the horror! IMHO there is absolutely no use of a fanboys vs fanboys topic. do we use Windows, Linux, IOS, Android, etc. The truth is, there are so many things that establish and change perspective that it seems silly to think we can control the resultant opinions. IF there was one best that we could argue for, if there was some objective way to measure the best operating system, then great. But there isn't.Myself, I've used Windows all my life and have never tried Mac or Linux. I'd like to try Mac at some point for various reasons, but haven't gotten around to thinking about the easiest way to make that work. As for Linux and other operating systems like it, I have little interest in learning a new operating system with the reputation Linux seems to have. A lot of people who get into Linux seem to be of the type who like experimenting, who like to do things in a different way than most o ther people, or who have specific goals in mind that Windows or some other operating system struggle to manage. That's largely not my thing. But if someone makes me aware of a possible usage that interests me which is more practical with Linux or something like it, then I will consider trying to learn it, but I still don't know how confident or ready I would be.So then we get to IOS and Android. I started with an IPhone in 2012. I tried it because I had heard litttle if no recommendation for Android or any other smartphone at that time. I needed an accessible cell phone, preferably a smartphone because I do enjoy using one piece of technology for a lot of purposes. There were games and apps on IOS I wanted to check out that weren't available anywhere else as well, so getting an IPhone was an easy decision. So, I bought an IPhone, well my family got it for me for Christmas. I have been using IOS for 5 years come December 16.Yes, I've found reasons to not like it. ITunes being a bloated tab fest. However I don't use ITunes much, and when I do need to use it, I only use it for specific tasks, like sharing audio memos or other files with file sharing. I've gotten pretty quick at that, and besides I only have to do it maybe twice a month, though sometimes more often when I'm more busy. If I could use Explorer to do it, then great. But this works well enough now that I've found a way, and I don't mind so much anymore.Sure, I can't install third-party TTS engines, but to be honest, I really don't have a big issue with Vocalizer. Having something like Eloquence would be awesome, but at this point I don't know how well it would sit with me. I've gotten so used to Vocalizer on my phone, and more recently, the new and improved Siri voices in IOS 11 betas which I really do like, though they are a bit laggy. I'm still waiting for that to be fixed, but I'm patient. If I can' t have Eloquence, I'll gladly take any of those voices instead. There are far worse alternatives!No SD card. Yeah it's annoying but the less SD cards I have, the easier for me. I lose them all the time. So I've managed to work around no SD card.More expensive prices for apple devices. That could be a problem in future depending on a lot of things. Who knows? For now it isn't, since my family are able to afford getting new phones every two or three years. My mom has an IPhone as well, and she normally takes my old one so I can get the new. As for other people on our plan, there is only one other family member and he has an Android which he pays for. So when we upgrade, we only end up having to purchase one new IOS device instead of two, which is nice IMHO. Also, our plan allows us to pay our phones off as part of our bill so the immediate impact of the higher price isn't felt so much.What keeps me liking IOS is that while there are things that annoy me, I am still so used to it, I feel so comfortable in it. In my opinion, Apple designed the operating system for people who want it that way. When you get an Apple device, you basically know what you're getting, with perhaps a few exceptions which are easily dealt with. Go ahead, laugh at me for being stuck in their ecosystem. I don't care.Now, am I going to say that Android is crap? No. I actually do own an Android and I know other people who do as well. I got the Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet about 6 weeks ago because I've had an increasing number of people asking me for help with Android. I figured why not learn it, especially since there are things on Android I've wanted to try out.I don't think Android is crap or that it's not a worthy operating system of someone's day-to-day usage. In fact, I like it a lot. I can easily transfer files from within Explorer as was pointed out a ton throughout this topic. There is no ITunes to get in the way of that. There seem to be just as many, if not more apps for Android in certain areas because it is easier to develop for. Accessibility is good enough for basic stuff,

Cool thing, keep it up. The suggestions about quests, mini stories and adventures while exploring new areas and missions to accomplish are inspired by smugglers and the myth based quests I menssioned are from king of dragon pass. So I'm having a few friends over later today for a bit of gaming fun, but I just realized that we don't really have many party games that can support 4 players. With a braille and speech device, particularly one that needs braille and speech constantly, one that needs trusted braille support that doesn't break, the cutting edge code isn't always good. Look at the ups and downs some of these new versions of Android went through. But there are some accessibility problems that you just wouldn't notice because they don't effect speech-only devices as much, but they're there nonetheless. Far more serious issues can happen if those problems were brought into a braille device as well. So, being on the absolute latest version of Android isn't always a good thing. That said though, Android is a developer-friendly os, and they can, especially with Google's help, take some cutting edge code that can be trusted to work, and put it right inside the older version of android. Things like the newest webview support. So, with that said, being on Kitkat isn't all that bad. Do I want t hem to stay on Kitkat forever? No, and they won't. When they believe a major upgrade is warranted, they will take it. @slj, the Braillenote Touch is actually a Google-certified tablet. If you look at the supported devices list on Google you'll see Humanware in the manufacturers. Yeah, sure. @slj I'll bet it was just a bad tablet, what tablet was it? I personally recommend the nexus devices. They are the best android devices I've seen. The thing with android is you can't just pick it off the shelf like Apple devices. Just like you have to research to see which windows machine has the least amount of bloatware, same goes for Android phones. Fortunately, it's gotten way better than it was in Android accessibility's infancy. Damn near every phone you get will at least have talkback installed. But that doesn't mean you'll get the same accessibl e experience. On Android 8.0 Oreo, the shortcut has finally gotten easier. Press and hold both volume buttons for 3 seconds...talkback on! And it works, all the time. I know this because I've been through plenty of accessibility shortcut breakages. On Kitkat for example, it would really only work once or twice a session before you had to reboot. On Marshmallow it worked perfectly, so did it on Nougat. And obviously in Oreo they changed it to something much better, that doesn't even require the home button which is good because, again, not all devices have a physical home button. But a manufacturer's own bloatware can make Android headache city as far as accessibility is concerned, especially! on older devices. I've enjoyed all the smugglers series, especially mastering the different professions. I particularly like the combat and the environment variations which you can use to your advantage. Re: Why I left Linux and Android Hello,Speaking of web browsing and emailing, I agree that Voice Over has some advantages comparing to Talkback, such as more navigation modes and easy text selection. On Android it could be a bit harder, but it's not impossible. GMail application is accessible, but I don't like the interface so I've got AquaMail which is the most accessible email client on Android and deleting messages is simple as tapping on a selector to the left of each message and choosing delete.But you guys who constantly complain about Android's eas of use, look at iTunes. It took me a bunch of time tabbing through the iTunes interface and finding a right place just to transfer a stupid recording to my PC. I'm using my device for listening to music and recording stuff as well, so it's really counterproductive for me to waste my time just to copy a single file onto device. The only thing that Apple allows you to do via copy-paste is transfering your pictures and vide os, which is very important for a totally blind person . I agree that Android's openness has it's bad sides, but at least you can do many more things and transfering files is as simple as finding a device in Windows Explorer and copying-pasting a file or folder. And using 3rd-party apps is something that sighted people do as well, because even on Windows you will certainly use a better web browser than Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. XCode which is used for developing iOS apps probably requires a better Mac computer, which is far from cheep, and XCode doesn't run on Windows.Yes, Voice Over is nice for what it does, at least on iOS, but some people don't use their phones only for calling, messaging and mailing. Some people want a lot more, so in my opinion iPhone or iPad is definitely not a device for more advanced users who want the most of their devices.So, my message to Apple is: Give me removable storage, allow me to develope apps on Windows for a smaller fee, give me SD card support, give me more TTS choices and you will get me. smugglers 5 questions regarding enjoyment and such Hello,since a longer time not playing smugglers 5 I came across it again. I am still liking it and enjoy it. What do you think about it today? Are you still playing and enjoying it? I like the details of the game because there's a lot of variation in the details, even if some of the core mechanics get repetitive sometimes, wich is the case in lots of games. But even with that the details and lots of little things change and I like that it takes time to get more interesting things unlocked. What is your opinion regarding smugglers 5, the original and the expansion smugglers 5: invasion? And does anyone know if user created additional content exists for the games as well?
