@4 I thought about doing Goldwave, Omer, but from what I'm reading, Reaper is among the best software you can use - it holds its own with the highest quality software on the market and it's free, and at most it's $60. I think that's pretty cool, we may as well begin the course with the best accessible software out there. I hear a lot of good things about Goldwave, but with Reaper I think everyone will be able to produce stuff they could sell online, or produce work for a sighted game.

Hi, python is by far the best language for me out there. i can't make great apps yet, but i am on my way. every day i am learning some thing new with python. the indentation was bad for me at first to get use to, but once you get the hang of it, braces will deffenetly not be for you.you can even choose if you want to make use of tabs or spaces for indenting. what do you have in c# or c++ for example?I know you will also need to make use of indentation, but that is not reelly a requirement.

@Zersiax: Normally it should work well even on Windows 10, just make sure your numlock is disabled, otherwise Crystal Access won't be able to intercept keys for the path finder and other informations.Also I am playing both Polished Crystal Beta 3.0 and Red Plus Plus 3.0.2, and I was quite a bit surprised as Crystal Access has less trouble with Red Plus Plus. Of course it's not perfect and it can only return text from the game, but is much better than Polished Crystal at doing it, and can return more informations during battles. The main flaw is the start menu and pretty much any submenu in it, so sometimes you have to do some trial and error with savestates.I also asked on the Polished Crystal discord if someone was willing to adapt Crystal Access so that it can work properly with Polished Crystal, and found someone saying he would be willing to try but he is  a bit busy for the moment. So I don't know if it will actually lead to something but I am hopeful. And if it ends also working with the upcoming Red Plus Plus V4 that will use the Polished Crystal engine, it's even better.

... Attack them? Like, form a huge coallition of allied clans, and go D-Day on them? IDK, maybe I've lost track of how it works for avoiding HC mode, but it seems like a Z-Day should be an option, if enough players want it badly enough to cooperate and bring it about. Forts clearly aren't siegeable in the way that actual fortifications are (cut off the water supply!), and they apparently get stronger the longer this goes on, so finding the right time to attack that trades off against the attackers' resources vs the defenders' rate of improvement might be difficult.But you mention that the forts aren't fortified, and they don't really seem to do anything, so maybe I've lost track of how attacking forts works...

Hi guys.So, for you people who are still unhappy about custom servers being gone, would you still be willing to update to a new version if they were to be put back in?Part of the reason I ask is because quite a few of the features we have planned, for example scoreboards, just wouldn't work with custom servers a thing. Scoreboards like what we have now depend on a centralized server to work properly, and if i were to bring back custom servers it would involve most likely ripping those out along with some other things as well, which seems like a shame at least to me, but if you people want that then I guess it's your call.Custom servers just limits what we can do by a milestone. It means we have to depend on people to update there... Oh fuck it never mind, you guys already know my opinion on all this.

@Origine that heading thing sounds like a rather odd Jaws behaviour, with both NvdA and supernova (the two other screen readers I'm familiar with), h is go to heading generally, then different hierarchy of headings are treated as effectively separate entities, so if you hit 2  you'd always be taken to a level 2 heading irrespective of what level 1 headings might be in front of or behind it, indeed I tend to use h by default for headings and only use specific level keys of headings if I want to skip to a sub heading more quickly. As far as mouseovers go, if a lot of the controls were changed to buttons that would negate the need for many of the mouseovers in the game, EG checking prices of things or zone info, and as I said, with all mouseovers using Separators they're not quite as bad in Trimps as they are in some other games I've seen.

Hi.The only person to blame in this case is Sam himself. It often seams like that Sam isn't able to control the contence which is posted on anyaudio. I also can't find any terms of use, license agreement or anything else which enforces rules of those who post on the website, if there are in fact rooles or license terms, please, someone point me to these.What the site needs is a team of adult, responsible admins who are not related, befriended to Sam or other site creators. The team needs to be neutral and not favoring any posters over others. With the drama and nonsense going on the last few weeks on anyaudio, the site needs admins which enforce rules, delete offensive audio clips and bring back order onto the network.Things like that bobby Winton thing that went on are not acceptable, people who didn't like his content still make fun of the recordings and create audio skits where they just mix together parts of his recordings to make him look stupid.This is not acceptable for a public audio uploading service.Greetings Moritz.

agreed with post 11, as a seasoned sound designer it would be great to hear someone else's take on it. I have used reaper as well. After the 60 days are up, you can still use it. After starting the program, You have to wait about 10 seconds at the nag screen before the skip purchase button is available and then you can use it for free.

Hello,You should do it this way: Keep the centralized server but add custom servers for people to play on. Score boards should not count custom servers, the features that depend on centralized server should only count the players who play on the centralized server.

I already make music with Reaper, but there's always something to be learned right?Also, I recommend you use the SWS Extension, which extends the functionality of Reaper. The website appears to be unavailable at the moment. However, I'm guessing it should be back up, as the latest version was released less than a month ago and there is no reason to believe this extension has been discontinued. @burak your idea looks great in writing, but in the actuall implamentation might be more difficult. Right now the server peeriodicly posts scores, so in order for that to not die horribly i'd have to somehow make the server know what server is the main one and what is custom.Another thing I could always do is make a special little version of the client and server, release them with the knollige that they most likely won't be getting any updates and let them have that. My question is then, would people even play the new version at all?Lately i've been playing chris's server quite a bit, and it seems like people really do like his server a lot. So, i think if i were to do that the main server would just become a goste town. Either way i lose.

@1:Navigation is still a problem yes, if the voiceOver settings are enabled for the game it's somewhat easier but getting anywhere is something of a challenge. P.S. If you have any issues with the game accessibility, don't report them to the developer. He will not appreciate it, believe me.

Gotta agree with post 8 here. I saw this topic and couldn't help but facepalm. This kind of topic serves no purpose, whatsoever, apart from causing more drama, instigating gossip about one single person and bouncing circumstancial he-said she-saids back and forth for no purpose or reason whatsoever.Please, for all that is holy, cut this crap out! This, exactly this is why I barely even look at this place anymore. Just ...why? I've never understood gossip and the purpose it serves and this really isn't any better. I'm sure there's more people who think the way I do; the admins certainly seem to do so given that topic the other day about the level of toxicity this place has gotten up to. I'm sorry, but getting banned for extracting sounds from a game is probably the most bullshit i've ever herd. Looks like sam / his admins need to act a little more there age, as supposed to there shue sizes, ya know.

I'm very interested in this course. I already make music with Reaper, but there's always something to be learned right?Also, I recommend you use the SWS Extension, which extends the functionality of Reaper. The website appears to be unavailable at the moment. However, I'm guessing it will be back up, as the latest version was released less than a month ago and there is no reason to believe this extension has been discontinued. If it should, for whatever reason, not be up soon, let me know and I can provide a link to the latest version.

Maybe the forts are hotbeds for disease, so it's possible that people abusing them might come down with the plague? Thanks for that, ashley. I'm kind of in two minds about the hole thing, I know a hole bunch of people want custom servers back, and in many ways I can understand why. I think scoreboards are just one example of features that would just not work with custom servers, hence my other idea of either releasing a new version with all the current features with the server list and either not update it at all or rarely update it, or just removing scoreboards and adding custom servers back. all depends on what you think.

Oh my god, that's trollish. I love it. I'd personally rather just make a deck that murders stuff, but that's me. Because the issues with your deck are:1. Sleep combos. Nothing stops a foe putting you to sleep and doing big bursts of damage.2. Electric Lock+super effective damage+Telekinesis. it's a very specific thing, but yeah.3. Confusion. Oh dear god, don't even get me started. If you hurt yourself a bunch, you won't be able to draw your appropriate cards, and may not have your time cards in, ahem, time.So it's neat, I just don't know how well it'll work.

Yeah Reaper will keep working after the evaluation  period is up, kind of like Winrar in that regard. I have a license for it and recommend that, especially if you're selling your stuff. I also agree with 216 about using SWS because it gives extra functionality. The install order I use is reaper, SWS, then Osara. By the way, if anyone does see fit to buy a reaper license, copy it into your clipboard, the entire thing, before you start reaper, and it will say something like, "We found a Reaper license in the clipboard, would you like to import it?" You click yes, and providing the license is valid, that's literally all you have to do to register it. When it starts up, the license and the name to whom it's been registered is spoken.

thoughts about levelling in rpgs

This is something I mentioned before, but since I'm currently playing trimps which is a game all about the scaling, but where there is still interesting stuff to do even when you level higher I thought I'd mention it again and ask for people's opinions. Okay, lets say you start out your random fantasy game. You are a young peasant girl/boy/whatever out to make a name for themselves adventuring. Like pretty much all adventurers, you begin by slaying the rats/cockroaches/green slimes/whatever is the lowest form of wildlife you can find in order to level higher.Usually, this doesn't take long, about five minutes or so of game progress, or to put it another way, if each rat (or whatever), you kill gives two xp, and level one is 100 xp, that means if you just slay rats you have to kill 50 of them to get to level 2. this is fair enough, but fast forward to the point when your a rough tough experienced adventurer with lots of spells/techniques/uba weapons and such. Your at level 21, and have graduated from slaying rats and other random pests to slaying red dragons and greater demons and such, and of course you get rewarded with higher xp for slaying such nasty things. The problem though, is that even if you get 20 k xp for  each red dragon, in practice this isn't very much. usually, games have some kind of  system or very high range modifyer in their xp calculations, meaning that where getting to level 2 will cost 100 xp, getting to level 21 will  somewhere in the millions. This  means that red dragons are worth far less than rats in terms of xp, and also that you will be spending far more time with your current skillset and seeing the same level 20 areas, than you ever did at the start of the game. this for me is usually where I find I lose interest in a game, since if I'm not  progressing or seeing more stuff, why should I bother playing further? Indeed, this is where I like the system which games like Erion and Aardwolf have, where each level has a fixed amount of xp to reach,  the amount of xp you get depends upon your level vs creatures level, EG a level 10 adventurer defeating level 10 opponents will get the same amount of xp as a level 1 adventurer defeating level 1 opponents. This is also where bonuses and remorts come into play, since manifestly a player who has remorted and started again at level 1 but with a bonus to let them take on higher level creatures earlier in their career, will progress faster than a player  must always fight at their level. this calculation also applies to skills. If I am a level   1 character practising smithing and  craft 50 horse shoes to get to level 2, what when I'm a level 20 smith and must create hundreds of finely crafted armours to raise my level. Of course the levelling system comes from D&D, where it was accepted that higher level characters must play longer to get there, however the difference is, in a tabletop game, a gm can always keep things fresh and give their players new locations, challenges etc. In many rpgs I feel that levelling mechanics are deliberately created to slow the rate of the player's progress artificially, but rather than making me want to play longer to gain more, it tends to have the opposite effect. I'm saying this after being heavily addicted to trimps, a game which both combines exponential numbers and a constant progress system, but gives you an optional reset which isn't hard to achieve and which you can use if your getting a little too stuck. Unfortunately, I never knew he open-sourced it either. If he closed it back up, that's his choice. There is nothing we can do about it.7: you do not necessarily must ask for consent for "all" code in your project that was not written by you. Open-source software? Go ahead and use code and algorithms from FOSS software in your code so long as you give credit and obey the license agreements.Ironcross32 is right -- stop nagging about this. If he closed access to the source, he closed it. Your not getting it. And if he closed it there's a pretty low chance you'll get it by asking him either.
