man this entire game has incredible tracks hahaha. I'm currently doing something new and interesting to train myself to deal with whatever cues 2 can throw at me. I'm making my way through all tracks ranked by difficulty level. I'm currently at rank 8. this is gonna take a while hahaha. I doubt I'll make it too far, but we'll see. once I start failing trakcs, that's when I'll know okay, this is as far as I'm going for now. lol

When audio cues are on the same side, for example left bumper and left trigger, it'd be awesome if cues didn't play at the exact position. Ssame for right side. you have something like cymbal and clap playing at once, it's hard to hear that teeny cymbal sound sometimes over the clap, since they're panned at the exact location. hopefully that makes sense.

Sneak,You'll know if a sequence is done because you'll hear the reverse cues to indicate you must get ready to play the sequence. not sure what you mean by delay, I'm not having that issues. and agree, cues 2 is tough! that is because you're playing in real time. think of it as cues 1 being like Space channel 5, and cues 2 like Rock Band or Guitar Hero games, where reaction is instantaneous. a huge difference for sure. btw, antiviral done! yeah! now I'm around 42% completion.we'll see how far I can go haha.

yep that sound. and I totally understand, however let's say I choose cues 2 from options menu, game still asks me to choose a mode, and only one is available. the only way to choose to when starting a new campaign is to complete first tutorial. this is because if I start tutorial and quit game, it doesn't save, and the only option I get is new game.Perhaps audio cues 2 should be changed to "visual mode with audio cues"? I think that would eliminate any confusions anyone might have. you could even merge the two, and just have an option in accessibility menu to turn on audio cues for visual mode. this way if we wish to show it to sighted people, we simply check the box, and it's done. I think I'd personally like it that way. There's probably not much point in having two modes, when visual and audio 2 are the same.I'm currently doing all missions using cues 2, and man this hours to live one is kicking my butt hahaha. I find it easier and easier to play this mode the more I play it. and I definitely prefer it over cues 1. it's way more fun! back to the game I go haha.

couple of bugs. first: when you start a new campaign, you're told to select a game mode, but there's no way to select audio cues 2. you must complete first tutorial before you're able to change it.second: I think healing audio cue broke. not sure when that happened. haha. That's all I got for now.

SMG I do have a question. you mentioned leaderboards: I know you haven't made up your mind on how it would work for cues 1, but what about cues 2? That one is like visual cues, so you could potentially add leaderboards, correct? unless there's something I'm not taking into accountdoes cues 2 have visuals? that would be even better. we'd be able to compete with other sighted players. I'm not saying adding to cues 1 would be a bad idea, but I'd love it on cues 2 as well. I'm just not sure if cues 2 is scored the same as visual cues.

Man online play would be absolute beast! I dig that 1000%. Also smg, have you considered setting up your own webstore and selling there? I'd hate for Itch or Steam to take most of the game money you're making from these sales. and I'm sure they take a good chunk. These guys don't do anything, just host the game and rip people off haha. perhaps for a huge developer it's not a big deal, as they sell thousands of copies, but man that gotta hurt if you're an indie dev.Another idea could be: publish on Playstation or Xbox. I don't know if that's a good idea, since I have no clue how much development costs on those platforms, but there are millions of gamers there.What you really need, is a huge push, and tons of exposure. and I'm not sure how we can go about doing that.

Hmm, you make an interesting point. I'm not sure actually. I don't think they're tied to an account though, it's just a redeemable thing. I'll wait for SMG's response on it though. I haven't purchased the itch game yet, but I wouldn't want him losing sales. I think the question really is, are devs actually required to include steam keys on itch? or is it optional? If it's required, then it makes sense that it'd be for personal use. if it's optional, he could've had any number of reasons for including it.

I think when you buy the game on itch you also get a steam key with it. I already have the game on Steam, so I'll probably gift my Steam key to someone! But yeah, if you guys can double dip, totally do it. I tried the itch demo, and just the fact that I downloaded the thing and immediately played it made life so much easier. There are many people here that live in countries where access to paypal and other payment methods are tough, so perhaps if you don't want your free Steam key, consider giving it to them? I just had a few ideas. first would be for a way to know which missions aren't fully complete. so for instance if we click the left stick down, we're told if we're missing gold medal and bonus objectives and the name of the missions we're missing. it'll be way faster than scrolling through all the missions to figure out if we're missing stuff. Another is to have narration messages by pressing left stick down during a race. it's great that the game narrates this automatically, but sometimes, when I'm racing and paying attention to the notes, I tend to miss it. or else I think I'm in first and turns out I didn't hear the change cause I was concentrating on the racing portion. that's all. Hopefully that's easy to implement.

I'm so used to cues 2 speed I didn't even notice.I haven't encountered any holds issues. if you're getting it wrong, it probably means you're not holding it long enough. I think if you let it go early you also fail. I actually love holds mechanic.

Just started playing with holds, already getting 28 out of 28. So end sound is probably not necessary, held sound indicator is plenty.I'm wondering something though. has the game been tweaked recently? like the note patterns? I noticed there are a lot less notes on the "not normal" mission, which I was using to test holds. I actually went into options, cause I thought maybe I somehow enabled the fewer notes checkbox, but it was definitely off. I've been playing on audio cues 2 recently so it surprised me a little. I do hope cues 2 is never changed. In fact, now that holds are in place, I would not mind at all if there was an option to enable visual cues for that mode. I would love to challenge sighted friends, and I'm sure we get the exact experience so there should not be any advantage/disadvantage for  anyone.

let us mess with it first. I don't think that's necessary. it'll cause audio overload. we should know for sure after a bit of testing. the holds make perfect sense, because they take place in parts of the songs with held notes, so like keyboard sections and whatnot.

exactly! 100% agree with this statement. If it were up to me, you'd be right on Steam's front page. There aren't enough words to express our appreciation of what you have done. You probably came into this project not quite knowing what you needed to do to make the game playable for us. But clearly that didn't stop you. And look where we are now?DO you know what we get from most mainstream developers when we inquire about accessibility? "we'll try to do it some point". or, "we'll keep it under consideration". You couldn't begin to imagine how frustrating it is to hear this over and over, time after time. Now that accessibility has taken off, things are getting a little better, but there's still so much to go.Choose any random game from the Steam store. anything at all. It's almost guaranteed whatever you choose will be inaccessible to totally blind gamers. This is the reason we appreciate what you do. You weren't one of the many that said oh I'll consider it, or it's too difficult, you got it done, and you did it well! For that you will forever be a community hero, right up there with Aprone. Learn to like it hahaha.

hahaha no doubt about it, you're really good at this. I now find myself wondering if I should stick with the two beat option or go back to a single beat. it's a mixed bag. on one hand 2 you have more reaction time, but also more notes to play per beat since you get the cues a little earlier. however it's probably a good thing to get used to if I ever decide to tackle a harder difficulty using this mode. man, decisions decisions! haha. Do you play fighting games at all, if so we must do a few round of mortal kombat. if you're as good at MK as you are in this game I'm gonna get bodied. haha

steering is very sensitive. when you do it, just tap left or right. don't hold the button or you'll crash. tap and continue boosting and you'll be fine. you can also use hyper instead of boost.

yep people definitely never tried to do that. this is of course the reason why you're the greatest developer on the planet. hahaha. You're now training our brain to think and react in a whole new way we haven't done before. I've played games like rock band before, and I've memorized countless guitar charts on expert, and even done pro keys and everything, but it isn't the same. memorizing something by playing it a bunch of times in practice mode, and training your mind to react to cues soon after they are heard is a different beast. It's sight reading for the blind. what do we call this in our case? ear reading? audio reading? lol.

smg, could you have the game narrate its version number at launch? Steam change log isn't updating, and I'm not sure the game itself is. I didn't get a downloading message, but perhaps it updated too quickly for me to notice. Version number narration at launch would make sure we're all running latest release.

yeah I never quite got how the tracks work either, maybe they sorta stretch? so no matter how fast you're going, turns and notes are always at their expected logical locations. In my mind sequence storm is like a treadmill. no matter how fast you're going, you're still kinda in the same place even though you get the impression of movement. does that make sense? I could totally be wrong about this but that's how I look at it haha. if there's something else going on, then it must be extremely clever cause I can't figure it out.

hitting notes heals you as well, just a lot slower than using hyper. hyper also allows you to turn without slowing, which makes it a good mechanic to use if you wish to get the bonus for not hitting the sides of the track.

hey guys, is this normal? I think my rig is only upgraded to level 3. I can only apply 3 max points to anything, but I think I should be able to do a lot more. I now have 8 points to spend, and each additional point costs over 2500 credits. I've seen people play the game and they have around 5. did my game break somehow? no wonder I was having so many difficulties with only 3 assignable points for each category. I have tons of gold on various difficulties so I dont' think is that. are the upgrades supposed to trigger on certain missions? thanks

You know what's really sad? that a single indie developer was able to make this game almost fully accessible for us blind gamers in just a few short weeks, yet a larger company like harmonix, could care less to make their rock band games playable for us. Now that I've experimented with this new cues 2 mode, I'm a thousand percent certain it can be done, as this game is doing the exact thing rock band does. all they'd have to do is implement the cues sounds and play them early like sequence storm has done. it'll probably be easier to play rock band, as you only have 5 lanes. It is what it is though. I will say though, with extreme certainty, that if Daniel creates more games in future and they're accessible, I'll purchase it day one. The work he's done here and his dedication to the project will be remembered forever.

I can usually reproduce this bug by mashing the A button when sapi is speaking as a race loads. So not sure if it happens only when narration is active, or if you try pressing buttons when game is loading content. there are some interesting crazy bugs as well, once I was just racing, minding my own business, when out of nowhere, game windo just closed on me. how rude! haha

because people don't enjoy challenge any longer it seems. Same holds true for the sighted mainstream community, which is the reason Scorpion and Sonya, 2 characters I loved playing as on MK11, got totally nerfed. people were falling for scorpion's teleport tricks, so they make it a high. and Sonya's air control was giving them trouble, so what did players do? start yelling, nerf the character! too op. and bam! no more popup. Back to this game. Sightless, I understand if you can't beat the missions or if you're getting a little frustrated, but please don't tell people that the missions are impossible and not to bother with things as they are and turn every single accessibility feature in the game on. You almost make it sound as if that's a requirement to complete the mission, when it clearly isn't.

I personally think this will make more sense in audio cues 2. cues 2 is great and all, but it does tend to get super hard later on. with an extra beat to process things it should be a lot more manageable. maybe leave one as it is, and for cues 2, change it to two beats. what do you guys think?

try putting points in top speed and acceleration. when it comes to missions that slow me down, I'm all about that boost. try using it strategically. let's say you crash into a barrier and you have a full stick of butter, just use it as soon as you crash into barrier. Whatever you do, do not boost right before reaching the barrier! that can be rather painful. haha

if people are being rammed by rival rigs, then it means you aren't far enough ahead. if you're in first and they're all far behind, they'll never catch up. just try boosting and get ahead as quickly as possible.

So now we wait. more bots missions. These are going to be fun once there's a clear indicator for where they are on the track. I have to ram into 7 of them. This game is almost fully accessible now! super awesome. I also wanna point out that I completed some missions using the audio cues 2 mode. definitely turn off confirmation cues if you guys wish to try it. It's a super fun mode! although it does tend to get insane after a while hahaha. it all depends on the track and its bpm. some faster tracks are harder to react to due to the way the mode works. it's definitely a new way to play the game though. I think I know what's causing Aaron's error. Not sure if it's this, but whenever I press the A button too quickly when starting a mission, game crashes. not all the time, but enough times for me to wait a couple of seconds to make sure mission loads before pressing it.

yep having problems with try before you buy as well. Also has anyone completed hospital 113, or obtained higher than bronze on virtual insanity? the new cues for turning and straightaways helped me get bronze on that one so thanks for that! I think we're possibly missing audio information in those particular ones. you guys feel free to let me know if I just suck. haha. I'll keep hammering at them and see what I can come up with.

So here's the thing about audio cues 2, dev can correct me if I'm wrong. I think the reason it's so difficult is simply because when you're looking at the track, you can see whatever's coming up on the track from a distance. so by the time that right trigger promp comes up in the rhythm, you already know that's what you must do cause you saw it a while earlier. Since we're dealing with audio here, that isn't really possible. or at least, not easily. One way would be to throw all the sounds at us simultaneously as they come up, and have us figure out where they go in the rhythm, but unless they have logical beats in which they appear, that'll probably make it even harder. hahaha. I suggested on Twitter for a way to remove the confirmation audio cues in options menu. I think that'll make it easier as we won't constantly be listening to them on the following beat, which just adds to the confusion. I'd even consider turning them off in the listen and react mode, as I feel I don't really need them. I think the crashing sounds are enough to tell us, ok I messed up real good.

I didn't have any issues with Welcome to Daemon Space. Got gold on normal and challenge modes. What is a little problematic is bonus objectives for some of these missions, as there's no way to tell where rivals are in relation to your rig. I'm also having issues obtaining high accuracy. it's always around 90% no matter how perfect my timing is when hitting notes. I did try messing with the settings, however I haven't messed around with accessibility ones as I wish to have as much of an authentic experience as possible, only the ones that control ms. Did no good. I wonder if there's like a detection issue in accessible modes? be great if dev could check into that.

I can send you save data, but I think it happens with any data that was already being used previously. reason I say this is, when I created a new save file, the erorr didn't occur. however when I attempted to use any of the 2 save files I have, they both failed. another interesting thing is, with the newly created data, game just loads as normal. with my normal save data, I keep getting the update message about new version each time, then I hit enter, and it crashes. if you still want the data, let me know.

hahaha, perhaps not the french toast idea, but I do think it should be possible to craft in Swamp. I'd love to make my own weapons, armor, loot, etc. I really wish Swamp could be what castaways 2 is. By that I mean, the ability to craft things should be such fun in Swamp. Thing is, I'm really not much into strategy type games. I like killing things, fighting things, blowing things up. I love action and mayham, which is why I really like Swamp and mainstream fighting games. There is strategy in every game, but the bulk of it is either fighting or killing, which I enjoy. I take it many on this forum love that too, because whenever games that have to do with destruction and chaos come out, they're immediately purchased, or downloaded. So if we had crafting features in Swamp, I'd probably be on it all day long making stuff to use in the battlefield. If Aprone then created a fighting game with RPG elements to help strengthen and level up our chars, I'd be all o

hmm I was wondering, to decrease a bunch of queries to your server, and also to allow people to eventually play without internet access, can the cached translation be saved locally on our PCs? Here's another thing: For BK3, weapon advisor: I'd love to be able to copy the entire list of weapons I'm missing to the clipboard, in English. problem is, I can't, because the text is immediately replaced with a confirmation that the text was successfully copied. I guess I could down arrow through the entire list and paste into a document, but that'd kinda suck, I'd have to do it for the descriptive text too. hahaha. Anyone figured out a way to pull it off? if not I'll do it the slow sucky way lol.

I always wondered, does this game have a speed cheat? after beating it, grinding can be extremely boring without a way to fly around, or run faster, or something. It's either go extremely slow, or buy tons of speed potions, which I don't really want to keep doing haha.

If I were Aprone, I'd be totally exhausted right now with Swamp. All the countless hours that goes towards fixing these bugs, and for what purpose? for people to eventually find and abuse even more stuff? On the other hand, he was really happy when he was creating smaller offline games. If that's what he wishes to do, he should keep it up! Many people enjoy these smaller releases. Swamp is just so full of unfair glitched cheated chars I don't even have fun anymore, thus I don't really play it. I logged on for the Christmas event, but unless a full reset took place and Aprone implemented some sort of way to track server changes and reject any possible game tampering, then I don't see me having much fun with the game again. Something like this would probably require some sort of rewrite, which I doubt Aprone's willing to do.If anyone's to blame for the state of Swamp right now, it's the playerbase. Not all of them obviously, but people k
 now who they are. Put yourself in Aprone's shoes right now. What would it be like to log into Skype, and immediately get hundreds of messages to this effect: AProne, I lost my leather jacket. AProne, I lost 10 7.62mm ammo, replace immediately! Aprone, people are being mean to me. Aprone, Aprone. Aaprronnne! answer me! AProne you're ignoring me! I was hacked Aprone. arg. And this goes on, and on, and on, for months, and years. And Aprone patiently takes it, and restores chars, and restores server from backups, and spends tons of hours fixing bugs, over and over and over again. No end in sight. What would you guys do in that situation? Would you take a little break, I wonder? I'd probably toss my computer out the nearest window if I had to deal with that garbage. Answer me this people: when you talk to Aprone, who are you actually talking to? Is it simply Aprone the audio game developer, or Jeremy Kaldobsky, the human being with rights, and a family and 
 responsibilities? I wonder: during the holidays, how many locals have actually Skyped him and said yo Jeremy, what up man? Wanna come over for a drink or something and chill a bit? Perhaps even given him a little gift that isn't the 12 dollars they pay to renew Swamp?

Suggestion to Yukio: Translate all items and their descriptions first, collection last as those items aren't as useful as the rest of the items. Then shops, as most of them still lack translations, and those are quite important for game play, then finally, story, as that is probably where most of the effort will go, and the toughest part. We can totally play game without story, although puzzle portions would need translations for people to be able to solve them. What do you guys think?

Oh you can totally kill bosses with sword. I actually killed final boss's last form with sword on normal, cause I had long since ran out of arrows. hahahaha. as for the Q9 on insane post, can't actually say using fortune fields to make your self invinsible really counts does it? that's just using a game feature to intentionally cheat your way through the game, in a way. lol. can you do it without using this unintentional exploit though? that's what I was getting at.

yeh this is an issue I also have with audio game devs. this whole inflated difficulty thing. Problem is devs don't even test their games to see if they're actually beatable. they just shove unrealistic difficulty stuff in there, and go, ok, it's harder now. let's release it. no, that's not how difficulty is done. Tweak the AI to make it smarter, don't give the enemies a lot more health to pretend the game is now more difficult. There's a difference between hard, and unbeatable. how many people have actually beat the gate on impossible? how about q-9? I bet the answer is 0, why? cause it can't be done due to the way the game was designed. if you got a new weapon on hard, or perhaps if you got more arrows then maybe it could be done, but not this way, a few arrows at the beginning isn't going to suddenly make the game that much easier.

Well, I completed the game. Pre-patched version. was a little bit tough, but I feel that for the price, there should've been more stuff to do. Gonna try it on normal one of these days, see what happens, but I'm pretty certain it'll just be difficulty inflation. I did it on insane on demo version just for the laughs, and that's what it was. definitely a bit better than what we usually get though, and that's a good thing. but coming from a mainstream background, I'm hard to impress. Japanese games did this though, and The Gate is definitely headed in the right track.

Imagine if Aprone works on an action game similar to the Japanese titles? It'd be the most amazing thing ever. I also wish he'd do a fighting game of sorts, I know there are many mainstream fighters, but many blind people won't play them because of the memorization and such. Like MKX for instance, been trying to fight blind people for a while, but only a few are stepping up. Kinda frustrating actually hahaha. Unfortunately some blind people will only play audiogames, which is a shame. I'm not much of a strategist, it just isn't my type of game, I personally would prefer platformers, sidescrollers, fighters, that kinda thing. I love swamp due to the action based features. There are so many awesome things Aprone can do when it comes to single player content, hopefully now he'll have time to work on something he'll really enjoy.

I think Aprone should ditch the multiplayer games and just work on single player content. Let me explain: Before Swamp came along, Aprone created a ton of little audio gaming projects that were single player in nature. After Swamp, this has completely stopped for the most part, and it's a shame. I'm sure maintaining the server running and all the headaches involved with cheaters, hackers, character restores etc can't be too much fun for Aprone. With single player you don't have these problems. Taking Aprone's coding skills into account, we could have the next BK out if he decided to go this route. I just don't think dealing with all the problems apparent with multiplayer is worth it in the longrun. What do yall think?

I love the volume idea. I recall mentioning this one on here before as well, but nothing ever came of it. this will definitely help when being swarmed and unable to hear anything, but there are tons of other ways it can be quite useful. this definitely will make things a lot easier, messing with the volume for every single sound isn't my idea of fun. haha

So Lukas, you're basically saying, that it's totally acceptable for us to get the same exact content for a demo, that we have for the full version? Nothing what soever changed in this full game. the only difference is we can level up more, and we paid $25 for that. this, is actually acceptable to you? gee with attitudes like that, no wonder there's never any innovation and audiogames only go downhill. Keep encouraging those devs to improve, you're doing an amazing job! Should I create a game where you mash the spacebar, make it a demo, then release a full version where the amount of space bar presses increases per level? Who knows, you might buy it. BTW I didn't know part of a moderator's job was to call people stupid. How professional...
