Re: Is There a Way to Fix These Annoying IOS Glitches
Re: Is There a Way to Fix These Annoying IOS Glitches Hi,I know this isn't super helpful, but the ball is very much in Apple's court for most of this. For the siri problem you mentioned, you could temporarily disable speech with a three finger double tap, and then re-enable it when you're finished working with siri. The others I'm not too sure about. I believe the voiceover problem is a bug, wherein it switches to the volume of the audio output versus the volume it is set to previously. Not to gripe, but I wish apple would at least acknowledge and work on fixing these problems that the voiceover community is having. Many people have reported these various IOS13 glitches if not outright bugs, and nothing seems to be done about them.Do feel free to correct me if I am wrong.I remember even a few years ago that Apple was quite diligent at fixing accessibility bugs that were reported to them, alas times are changing it looks like.Hth a bit,Daniel URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/486880/#p486880 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

NASA Audio
NASA Audio Hi all,Recently, NASA released over 130,000 hours of audio from the Apollo 11 mission. Why 130,000 hours, you ask? To cut a long story short, various support personnel on the ground were able to communicate over a very elaborate system, known as communications loops. Fortunately, most of these were recorded and are now available to the general public after almost half a century. This is an invaluable resource for people like myself who are not just interested in the historical aspect, but also the technical side of things. At the moment, this is fairly messy, as the raw multi-track tapes were digitized and then uploaded one channel at a time to archive.orgThere are several projects as I understand it being undertaken at the moment to put this in a more digestible order for casual browsers, however if there's anything you are particularly interested in, you can check it out here:https://archive.org/search.php?query=Ap … CollectionIf you're interested in a more general look, there's also the nasa audio collection of which these files are a part. This covers a great number of things including Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and space shuttle missions.https://archive.org/details/nasaaudiocollectionIf there's anything that you're interested in, feel free to ask here as chances are I can help you out finding it.Hope this is useful to the curious!Cheers,Daniel URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/post/391426/#p391426 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

The Last Jedi: what do we think?
The Last Jedi: what do we think? Afternoon all,I figured I would put a topic together for those who have seen the latest Star Wars movie, so that we can discuss it, and see what we all thought. Beware spoilers ahead:SPOILERWhilst I may be being overly critical, I personally found the plot to be sadly lacking. Whilst there are action sequences galore, and these are great so I'm told from a visual standdpoint some of the plot elements can be quite jaring. Here's an example: we're in a fleat of New Republic ships, being slowly hunted down by first order vestles. Oh, we need a code breaker? Let's just pop off to this casino, no problem. IT's things like this that make me go hmm. I'm happy to suspend disbelief, this is afterall science fiction, but still. Can't we have plots that at least try to tread new ground, and not just deal with yet another empire? I feel like I'm watching a rehash even more so than when I finished watching the Force Awakens! It could just be me, particularly as I wasn't happy about star wars being rebooted as I'm a big fan of the expanded universse(now called legends), but ah well.Do feel free to share your thoughts/oppinions, and if you think I'm being overly critical! Re: Looking for a decent audio interface
Re: Looking for a decent audio interface Hi,Phantom power is basically 48 volts that allows the element in the condenser to work propperly, and I won't get into the science here. The pre-amp is part of the audio interface. As for AHK, it's basically a utility that allows you to create virtual interfaces for applications. I.E. the focusrite software for instance isn't accessible either the 2i2 or 2i4 versions, so someone put together a script that allows you to change the buffer size/sampling rate. The script then as I understand it has window posissions recorded and makes the apropriate selection in the application. Whilst I'm sure there are people with more AHK knowledge then I who could chime in here, this is how I understand it.Also, the software has been made to work just as well with the script, which I'm happy to send to you if you like, although I'm not the creator.A package such as the one you describe should be good to get started, and do feel free to pose any question you might have when you get all set up.HTH,Daniel URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=338830#p338830 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
Re: Looking for a decent audio interface
Re: Looking for a decent audio interface Hi,I can personally speak to the focusrite stuff, as I use a 2i2 nearly every day and it's great for what it does. As you doubtless already know, the 2i2 and 2i4 are quite similar, although the 2i4 has four outputs instead of two. They both have phantom power which is nice, as it's required if you're using condensers. As for the software, if you do end up getting the 2i4 there is a ahk(auto hotkey) script for making the asio driver accessible for setting things such as sampling rate/buffer size.If you have any specific questions, do ask and I can do my best to answer you, or if I don't know the answer at least point you in the right direction.HTH,Daniel URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=338824#p338824 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: Help please with amazon ecco dot. Hi Dark and all,Although I don't have an echo personally, I have a funny feeling that some of this has to do with skills not being available in the UK, where I am also located as of yet.We unfortunatley have to remember that even though this was deployed over a year(or more)? ago in the US, we just got it over here officially at I think it was the end of November. Not sure if this is at all helpful, hopefully more of these skills will become availible soon, as we all know how slow the roling out of product features can be!HTH,Daniel URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=295704#p295704 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: Harry potter books memories from harry potter fans
Re: Harry potter books memories from harry potter fans Hi again,@Dark: I do agree with you, and can see where you are coming from. That's part of the reason that I'm re-reading the series--I've not read it in several years, I just remember thinking that book seven(near the end anyways) felt very rushed and a bit anticlimactic.I also agree with you about the casual vacancy, and I'm hesitant to read any of her other stuff after that, though I may pluck up the courage eventually Part of my thing with this series, is that I'm a big epic fantasy fan I.E. to the scope of Daniel Abraham, George R. R. Martin ETC, where the non-central characters are given a bit more screen-time if you will, and there are many different viewpoints that are used.Whereas in HP(not that this is necessarily a bad thing), these other characters like Luna for example seem to be slightly glossed over.We shall se e during the re-read though...Just my thoughts.Daniel URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=272268#p272268 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
