blind-gamer, The public beta lasted only for a week, meaning that the game was open for public tests and to stress test the server. Now that this period has ended, only the selected testing team is able to keep testing the game and therefore Aprone has taken down the link until there's another release for the public.

@Turtlepower, the original castaways is fairly simple to get the hang of once you get the idea and the keyboard shortcuts are more shortcuts than anything else.The only two major things you need to remember were the keys to check through your population and the keys to cycle and assign jobs.I'd still recommend it, particularly sinse it looks like Castaways 2 is going a slightly different route, indeed Nocturnus did a really awesome audio walkthru of the game that explained a lot, which you might want to check out.

I guess it doesn't bother me that the workers don't have names, but since I never really got into the original Castaways, that makes sense. I found it to be way too complicated, and I struggled to keep track of all the keyboard shortcuts that would control my population.

@Lori, yep, I miss the worker personalized names, it was rather fun to have a peasant called Aprone or Jo or whatever wander out of the woods to help out . Actually i was a tiny bit sorry the workers didn't have some more personality traits, especially with the game having fewer over all workers than in castaways 2, sinse I really hoped we'd get workers with specific talents or dislikes rather like the people in Pawprints, but you can't have everything in one game and certainly I enjoyed what I've seen thus far and can't wait until we see more online stuff, or at least a major update to the single player mode.@Craig, I doubt that's going to be it for the game, I imagine we'll see more on castaways as soon as Aprone has finished adding on lots of bells and whistles.Actually in a way it's good, I can get some work done 
 in the site instead.

Hi, I'm very sad the beta was only on for so short a time, however I do have some suggestions for you Aprone.  One thing I'd like to see when mining if the name of the extended square be spoken once your tunnel is extended, so for example it might say the tunnel at g9 has been extended, so that when you go back down there, you'll know where to head too instead of wandering around in the dark for ages lost lol.  Also, I know the game isn't a chat client, but I do miss the online interaction and would like to see clones of online players turn up as workers too like in castaways 1, it made it a bit more personal to name workers.

I'm gutted I missed the beta of this. I LOVED Castaways (and Swamp, for that matter). Oh well, c'est la vie.And to jump in on the auto-harvesting side of things, to bring up one of my favourite graphical games, Command & Conquer has that concept too. In Generals and Red Alert at least. In Red Alert, your ore trucks will go trundling off to the nearest ore patch (or ore mine in later games), fill up and return to base to unload ore, which automagically nets you some lovely credits. It's nice not to have to micromanage it. Until your mine or patch runs dry, or a pesky Terror Drone or similar comes and puts the breaks on that operation. Those Soviets are just plain rude.

Actually blindndangerous, autogathering does happen in graphical sim games. Dune two had spice harvesters that once deployed worked to capacity then returned to base, while in dwarf fortress most people work automatically on tasks and the player sets up areas, eg if you want lumber cut you equip a dwarf with an axe and designate an area of trees as firewood, or designating a grain silo, having a shed with equipment and waiting until grain is ready for harvest, though being as the dwarves themselves all have personalities, simply relying on them isn't always a good idea, (a friend of mine once had a pyromaniac dwarf who proceeded to chop down many trees and then make a huge bonfire next to wooden cabins). It is true auto harvest in most graphical games occurs more by assigning areas or equipment than specifically designating a worker as a farmer, though that sort of thing did occur in older games like the warcraft series, but that's due to the fact that now Ai is a
  bit better at simulating real people or amounts, eg, instead of just assigning a worker as a farmer, you send one or more workers to the fields with sickles and a wagon that can hold say 40 bales of straw and then wait while your workers fill the wagon and bring it back (the more workers the faster this gets done). So, I personally wouldn't be against professions in the game or some sort of auto job action, though I'd prefer it if it had some sort of check on it or ease of order, eg, as I said creating work crews above and then assigning the hole crew to a task in order to get it done faster, or maybe having workers have a boardom or fatigue rating tht changed according to how many times each given worker had done a given task. Indeed, I'd love to see some personality among the workers as I said, that is one thing I miss from castaways 1.Alternatively, you could just build things to make gathering tasks take more time but be more efficient, so say if you
  built a hand cart and sent your worker or workers out to gather sticks instead of a rate of one minute to gather one stick or one straw, they'd take 5 minutes to bring back eight straw or sticks. If you had a horse drawn wagon, they'd take 10 minutes to bring back 24 sticks. If you had a dray (a huge wagon drawn by two horses), your workers would take 15 minutes but bring back 40 sticks or straw. Of course this would mean an over all more efficient gathering rate, but also you'd be having more workers doing more smaller things at that point so it'd balance out, particularly sinse the worker or workers who went off with the cart would be gone for more time and the carts themselves would be things you'd need to build later in the game. Just some musings.

@Turtlepower, the problem of having to sit around is really an early game thing. The shortest time for tasks is one minute, and when you have more workers you can assign more tasks to get done so that your having things all complete at different times and no sooner one thing is finished you start another, especially when you have lots of workers and lots of jobs that take different amounts of time, indeed depending upon how complex the game gets the chance to set professions and have some sort of auto gathering, harvesting or other job happen might be needed just to save your fingers . What I would love to see is a completed jobs history, so you can review just what jobs are done and know when something is complete, sinse if anything I found that picking out when something was done from the rest of the game text (especially when looking at requirements for future jobs),
  was quite time consuming. Also I bet when Aprone makes the game a bit less predictable and adds things like weather, there will be need to manage things more carefully even more, eg, if you see the temperature drop, stop your workers from collecting dry grass and have them collect firewood instead.One thing I would like to see is the ability from castaways 1 to assign some jobs to multiple workers and thus get them done quicker, especially building and tool making, this might be very necessary in the future when we're having to build massive buildings etc. One alternative method to doing this and one which might still provide the need for game balance might be the way to combine idle workers into work crews and then assign the crew on one job. Say for example you had three idle workers and wanted to build a house, you could have the task "assign to crew" (say tied to a town hall or administration building), which would assign two workers to the
 p; crew. Once you'd assigned as many workers to the work crew as you wanted, you could have the hole crew do one job, with each worker you assigned knocking one minute off the job to the minimum completion time of one minute, so it'd be pointless assigning a work crew to say gather dry grass, but assigning a crew of four workers to build a house would get it done in one minute rather than five (and of course making babies would need to be exempt from this sinse I doubt extra hands would make light work in that situation). this also has the possibility of making larger numbers of workers easier to manage if things go really macro, as i hope they will.

I realized what the problem with the apple trees was, so I feel kind of stupid now, but I still say it's pretty unforgiving. Realistic, yes, but brutal if you're someone like me who prefers a fast-paced game. I won't give up onit for sure, but I think that those who mentioned notification sounds for when tasks are complete are spot on. I totally agree with this suggestion, because that way, I can keep the game minimized and do other things, and know if something happens, like when my crops can be harvested and so on.

@Turtlepower, I'm not sure what the apple problem is, unless it's something to do with the server as Aprone said. You can however get more food by planting crops, you just need a stone hoe to till the ground, and a seed (I started with a couple of seeds in my inventory, I'm not sure if you do on single player).Corn and potatoes can both be planted, harvested and  then cooked and eaten with firewood, which is a good way of going until you get other production methods up and running, though as you need to buy things like extra seeds and eggs to start those I'm not sure how you get them in single player. If your really desperate for food you can try spear fishing with one stick, but chances of getting a fish out of it are only one in five.As to money, you make it by selling things to the kingdom, this you can do when you've built a store on your land, even without selling to the online shop, however you can't really start s
 elling until you've got some ore such as iron, silver or gold smelted which takes time. Doubtless these are things Aprone will fix when he balances the single player a bit more.I'm really looking forward to the next build actually. One thing I slightly miss from castaways 1 was the personal bit of having yourself in the game and having other people turn up to help, it was sort of amusing to have a clone of dark appear in other people's settlements to lend a hand .I also rather miss having actual genders for your population, just because it was always sort of amusing to imagine your women (or men with the right perk), getting pregnant and having families, indeed I do slightly miss your workers being a bit more personal with names and was hoping for something with personalities or a bit of individuality, but hay you can't have everything and 
 I definitely can see the advantages to the way castaways 2 works, especially with all the stuff you can build and the complex crafting that goes into the game.Looking at the game, especially with some of the complexity that comes with later builds I do actually wonder if the foundations for that more complex castaways with cities and civilizations is there? Maybe it is just a question of more building, but we'll see what comes, I can say I'm hooked and look forward to seeing where things go.

Hi guys, it's true that the public beta ended on Saturday night, so there is no more server for your clients to connect to.  Single player will still work, but not multiplayer.Most of the reported bugs or issues with single player are just the result of single player not really being what the test was about.  Instead of it being an actual single player experience (at this stage in development), single player was really just multiplayer without the multiplayer.  So the core game mechanics were in place, but no goals and no code to use whenever it would normally rely on a server to make decisions for it.  That's why getting new plots didn't work, and why many other things seemed to be missing or broken.  I do plan to work on single player mode, but this public beta was just meant to stress test the server.I may do another public beta, but one isn't planned yet.  I will use at least this next week to go through the colle
 cted data from this past week's test, and make the necessary code changes.  I'm also waiting to get more voice work done, and Kai continues to work his magic on game sounds.

Well, I'm not usually into strategy games, but I have to say that this one has me hooked.I've only tried the offline mode so far, but I have a quick suggestion/bug report,since I'm not sure if what I'm encountering is an actual bug or not.I saw in the jobs menu that apples are supposed to regenerate every 5 minutes, but I always have to wait for a half hour or more before I can get any. My energy is just about depleted now, and I have no other source of food. Is that supposed to happen?Also, what things can be traded when you're playing offline? I could really use some more coins to get more food if I'm going to survive, and it seems like you should be able to interact with your items in the inventory menu, but at the moment you can't, unless I'm missing something. Is that going to be added later, or can you only trade stuff if you're playing online?

Thanks for the information Mata, and no worries Connor, I won't mind it.The week long test went very well, and we had 74 players who joined in.  I'm only able to count the ones who participated in the multiplayer portion (since those are the only ones I have records of).  I expect to be busy going over all this data for a while, but in the mean time here are the top 10 players we saw for the week (based on final score).  For the future I'll likely work out everyone's place, and provide the actual score amounts, but for this public beta I'm only going to list the top 10 to save myself some time.#1, Hannibal#2, Badger#3, Breaker#4, Mastry#5, Trevor#6, Leigh#7, Lucas#8, Buzz#9, Parnooson#10, LoriOut of 74 players, these 10 were the quickest to figure out how the game worked so they could amass more points than the rest.  Well done, and thanks again to all.I,

A suggestion. put a key to jump to the first messages, some times i don't use left and or right brakets, and when i do it says "rev 356" for example, and i have to keep pushing the left brakets to go to the rev one. may be pressing two times the left brakets to go to the first message, and to times right brakets to go to the last message. Or a shift, control...Way f1 to f12 are not used?Also a separate list of messageswould be better. a battle list, a job list, etc.i'm talking the single mode because though i have the money, i don't have a credit card to pay for an account.

Ahoy all@aprone, a truly fantastic beta this has proven to be. I have been playing the multiplayer as of yet and that too the longest I've ever played any game. My atention spam is a bit low and games and such always make me go off in a while,but I have been stuck on this one like a bat leeched to a particularly succulent piece of prey. Just a few ideasResettling land results in you moving,basically feeling you are playing 2 castaways not just 1 or 2 different sets. Instead of that couldn't it be more like expansion? that plot integrated with resources of the old one and so on? perhaps this goes beyond from what you have invisioned the game to be or from what it is ment to be, in that case I'll just try it out and see how it goesAnother thing that needs attention is food. If you eat potatos a certain times after a while the energy gain from them 
 will be only 1 or 2, while this is fine as your people do not get much out of the same thing by having it over and over again, but say if their diet were to be changed it'd make better sense to have that food regenerate the energy or the utility that it provides. Much like in cast aways 1 I believe where eating vegetables continuously would result in lowered efficiency or utility derived,but switching to meet and eating that for a while and switching to vegies would make vegetables give the same utility again.Another and I swear its the last (for this post at least  )is re population of treed tiles. perhaps you leave that tile be for a while and trees would automaticly grow up again much like a forest,perhaps after a truely long while, I have no clue as to the specifics of the time that it ought to be. perhaps there'd be certain task required to be done to make a ti

I just played the game yesterday,and its super awesome! Jaws still has problems though, like not reading the tiles as you move to them properly sometimes. @Jennifer, if you have appletrees on your land you shouldn't need to plant one, it's just if you don't have enough apples coming in.One thing I'm noticing is that when I look at my inventory and people are using tools, the tools disappear from the inventory while jobs are being done. Thus, if one of my workers is say splitting logs into firewood, I don't see the axe, the problem is, I'm then inclined to forget I've got one and build another. It'd be really nice if the inventory could show tools in use, eg, "stone axes 0, one in use", same goes for anything sent to the online store for trade. That way you'd be better able to calculate what resources and tools you had and what you needed in the future, sinse several times I've ended up making tools I already have. Compounding this problem is the annoying error that sometimes when jobs complete, the contents in the inventory don't get updated until I
  log out and log back in again, and I don't hear the job completion message. Again, this is why a "completed jobs history" say ctrl and brackets would be good. Similarly to the  previous suggestion about job listing, it might also be nice to have different pages in your inventory for tools, ores, food, seeds etc, though as an alternative the game could indicate what exactly your missing when you hit a job and are missing requirements to let you know what you need to make, although that might make the game feel a bit too automated.Apart from these problems things are going farely well accept that I'm now waiting for iron ore to craft more things. As I now have a windmill, bakery and wheat I am okay for food, sinse apples were down to 3 energy and even cooked corn was down to 9.Speaking of food, I wonder if there is a way to restore food to it's higher energy output? sinse otherwise there might come a time when your population just ar
 en't getting fed from what you produce, although given the amount of energy you get from bread that could be a long time . Perhaps if you've not eaten a particular food for a while, or perhaps if (similarly to castaways 1), you could prepare actual meals, eg, an apple might only give 3 energy because you've eaten so many, but a meal of potatoe and apple together would give 15 energy again sinse you've not had that meal before, though obviously you'd need a chef and probably some clay plates to prepare meals. This could also open the way for herbs and herbal garnishes in the game too at a later date,  sinse hay I'm sure we'll get pigs at some point and we have the apples to make sauce with .I also do wonder why, if your
  people can use spears to fish, you can't hunt game in the forest? say by making a sling from cloth and a rock, making deadfall traps, or making Anyway, there are obviously lots of ways the game could go, and lots of complexity to add, indeed while Aprone stated this isn't the huge uba complicated civ style castaways he planned, it actually potentially could be with some editions, though obviously we need the basic building blocks down first.

Greetings. Nice to see that Castaways2 beta is released. I've been tempted to try it out, however I could never connect to the server and play online.Since ever the beta has been released, all it does for me, is when I enter my username and click connect and enter my password, it says connecting to the server, and then it just sits there and does nothing.I have downloaded the zip again when the fixes were made, and even downloaded the newest patch, but I am still unable to connect.I am able to play swamp without any problems, though.Debug log doesn't help with my problem either; it's empty except a few sound errors.Would appreciate any help  twards resolving this problem, as I really wish to try the online mode.Thanks.

hello all,I have tried to connect to the server for multiple times a day. But i can't connect to the server. mostly i get the error the kaldobsky server doesn't reply, but when i don't get that message i usually sit around for a few minutes after the connecting to server message but nothing happening at all.When i hit escape i see that the multiplayer option has been replaced with connected to server, but nothing pointing me at that i am connected apart from that option in the main menu.I hope this will be fixed soon, since i really want to jump into the party of the multiplayer game.greetz mike

@Jennifer, You can plant the apple tree on a normal tyle not a farm tyle sinse it's a tree not a crop.I wonder if I can get bees by planting flowers? accept flowers are really expensive again, and I also seem to be stuck until I can get hemp and eggs, both of which again, are expensive, and I can't pay for them until I can sell some ores, which I can't do until i build a forge, which I'm having trouble with due to the lack of firewood that I can't process because I'm spending all my firewood cooking instead  Ag! It would be great if you could randomly find a couple of things to keep yourself going when collecting sticks or grass, such as seeds or eggs, just as a bit of a boost.

Hello@aprone I just bought an account. Some time ago I wanted to do, and I ended up convincing with this game.However I think I found a bug. I entered the multiplayer Castaways2, just to see if it worked well on my acount.and when I tried to activate the option Cancel and return to the main menu, the game continued in the same menu, I tried some times but the game never returned to the main menu.greetings and thanks.

SLJ, maybe you are escaping too soon, sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for me to get connected to the server and sometimes it only takes seconds.And, unless you mean till the farmland and leave it, the onl tree I can see to plant in my jobs I can do on the farm tile is an olive tree.

mata, you don't need to know the port. just allow castaways2 through whatever firewall you have set up on your computer and it will be fine.dark i believe an alternate way of sorting jobs is in the works as typing will brake eventually with the addition of multiple languages. so stay tuned.you can get a bucket first by having a mine and mining out iron ore. you then have to have a smeltery with coal and a clay pot to melt the iron ore to an iron bar. then you have to have a forge to make the iron bar into an iron bucket. i'm not sure if you need coal for that as well, but it wouldn't hurt.

Hi Aprone,I can connect to the server just fine, and I have to take this opportunity to say I really appreciate the way your account system is made up. It's been ages since I purchased mine for Swamp but then I haven't touched Swamp at all for many months, so I just find it incredibly ingenious and fair that my account still works all right after all those unused months. :-)However, I have a 100% reproduceable error whenever I try to assign a job to a tile of either type. I've tried it on grass, tall grass, trees and stone so far, with exactly the same results every time. I might be doing something wrong but the way I understand how it works is I am supposed to press enter on the tile and then choose how many out of the available workers I want to assign to that job. Is that right? I can't confirm this because as soon as I press enter on the tile, I get a runtime error 13: type mismatch. I may not remember the exact number correctly but the reason 
 specified is certainly type mismatch.I wonder if this might have anything to do with my language/regional settings. Should I try changing these to US English?One more thing I am incredibly grateful for: You must have changed something about the way Sapi is handled in Castaways 2. I remember you sent me the executable of Swamp a really long time ago over Skype which was modified as compared to the official distribution in some way. I had written to you saying that all of your games stopped working for me at some point, as neither of them was able to use Sapi any more and I think there was no runtime error, no entry in the debuglog file or anything like that - the games just froze and eventually crashed with the standard Windows "program stopped responding" dialog. The modified Swamp executable you sent me back then resolved the issue until you posted an official patch again. This means I used to be able to play Swamp and your other games perfectly fine at the b
 eginning, then this issue started occurring to me and it was temporarily resolved for Swamp with that modified executable, then Sapi stopped working in Swamp for me again with every new official update. This means I can't play even those of your games that support screen readers as well as Sapi, because I always had them configured to use Sapi, and if I remember right, they are configured to start with Sapi by default if no user changes have been made to the configuration, so I can't even start them up for long enough to actually change it over to NVDA.Now, however, you must have changed something about Sapi Handling in Castaways 2 right since the beginning, because this game works flawlessly for me. I am using Windows 7 X64, but al of the voices I actively use are natively 32-bit. This might be the source of my Sapi issue with your other games. It's not a problem at all for Castaways 2 though, as it uses Microsoft Anna by default, and I can easily configure it 
 to use one of my 32-bit voices in the alternate Windows control pannel (c:\Windows\SysWOW64\Speech\SpeechUX\sapi.cpl).One last thing to conclude this pretty long post: I absolutely love the sound quality of Castaways 2, I was very pleasantly surprised when I heard it for the first time. The soundtrack is excellent, even the tiny sounds such as the menu clicks, and I absolutely love the narrator voice! Just great job!Lukas

Well Aprone, as per yesterday and the several hours I put in I can say the game is good and certainly addictive enough, actually I like the complexity, even if I do slightly miss the professions you could assign previously in castaways and the comparative intelligence of your workers, still job assigning is good and there is a good bit more complexity in builds (even though I am unlikely to find out what bee hives are for as I don't have any and apparrently you can't build hthem).The one really irritating bug I notice is that for some reason, sometimes the server doesn't update status when jobs are finished, so sometimes for example I carved some bricks, and then noticed that I had some missing which was rather annoying, this also happens with population increases as well.For this reason I do have a feature request. it'd be really nice if you could wittle down the history to just! your job completed messages, rather than everything (including read
 ing menus). So it'd be handy if say shift and the bracket keys could just play you the completed jobs, that way you could be certain what has happened when, sinse several times (especially with how chatty players are), I missed job notifications, and with the above stated missing updates problem this could get a little confusing (I wondered at one point what had happened to my first baby, I think it could've died but I'm not sure). I also would like a slightly more efficient way of grouping the jobs in the all jobs menu, sinse I notice while some jobs do come up fine by typing in the first couple of letters, such as the construct a house, others don't, which makes it a bit irritating for looking up requirements for things (I had to do way too much scrolling around that menu looking for simple things like requirements for building a house or a tool). I'd suggest myself that the all jobs be grouped into categories, eg, b takes you through bui
 ldings, t takes you through making tools, m takes you through mining, f takes you through farmland, o takes you through forging, c takes you through cooking, s takes you through smelting,  w takes you through weaving while y takes you through miscellanious ones such as buying a human worker. While obviously these aren't hard and fast categories, it'd make it easier if I wanted to look at  what is needed to build a house or weave a fishing net if I could look in a more logical categorization rather than firstly worrying whether I need to craft, build, throw together or construct something, and secondly whether the menu will actually work as expected (h a for harvest didn't).Of course, this isn't suggesting having everything on separate menus, just have space activate the all jobs menu, then hit b to go through all the building jobs, f for all the farming jobs, etc, thus making it far easier to look things up. Right now my most seriou
 s problem is lack of firewood and lack of food, particularly sinse apples aren't providing much and felling a tree then cutting the log into firewood goes through lots of axes, while gathering sticks takes ages and goes through lots of sticks (and isn't a way to increase firewood if you need it for cooking as well as other things). I've actually got food, it's just cooking it that is quite a pest right now, but hopefully this will be solved when I have managed to build a forge and can start making some better tools.

Yes this is also used to translate Wordpress themes etc. but that seems to be a different system but I'm not sure.I think that I'm still having connection issues to the server. When I press connect to game and type in my password, nothing happens. I then press escape and try to load a game or start a new game. I can then sit there and chat with myself, but how do I check if I'm online? I don't get any message of the day. How do I see who's online?@Jenifer:You can plant new trees for sure. To do this, you need to make a stone hoe and tip the ground to make it into farm land. Yeah, it took some time for me to figure that out.

aprone : i can't get the patch. it says http 404 not found.And for your information : I still can't connect to the server at all. it says connecting to the server, then it just stops there. How long does it take to connect? Hours?Also another possible bug : when it says connecting to the server and leaves my castsaways window like that, once I see nothing has been done even a connect atemp, I have no choice but to press escape out of that screen, only to see my multiplayer option says, "connected to the server" even though I'm sure I'm not connected to the server at all.

The first way you'll probably get coins is to construct a mine, find precious metal ore, and use a smeltery to turn it into metal bars.  Those bars of iron, copper, tin, bronze, silver, and gold can be sold to the kingdom for more coins.  I believe you sell them at your store house.  You can also construct a store and sell items on it to other players.  You might even make more money selling the same metal on the store than you would selling it to the kingdom.

Hi. I've just tried the game and I'm afraid I'm having the same problem as Lori mentioned above, and as I had in swamp. graav, ie, ` doesn't do anything. that is the key next to one. It doesn't do anything on it's own, or worse, with shift, so no market for me.Any suggestions? this is an annoying keyboard issue, but I'm sure there's a fairly simple workaround sinse I do remember it getting to work before. @Xoren, If the single player game can be made interesting enough as regards fighting the environment, but to be honest I always enjoyed the cooperative multiplayer of original castaways with being able to help each other out so would be sorry to lose that, although a single player game with lots of environment to challenge you that was missing in the multiplayer version wouldn't be a bad thing if cooperative rather than competitive multiplayer was absolutely out from a design standpoint.

Hello;I think the single player, for those of us who don't like playing online would be better if we could either spead up time or have more workers working on one building at a time.The workers working on one building at a time makes logical sense to me and would spead things up.Oh and one thing i'm sure is going to be added in the actual release of this game, sounds for the tasks. @Dark That being said, I also don't think Castaways 2 has to necessarily also appeal to all groups. It's perfectly fine for C2 to remain a PVP game, whilst keeping the single player aspect for those who don't enjoy that kind of gameplay.I tend to think that Swamp was Aprone trying too hard to cater to everyone. Adherence to a theme can be a good thing, and expanding upon it beyond the original goals might possibly break it. I won't lie, I would love a great co-op game as well, but I think it might be wise for Aprone to pursue the current course and save some kind of future co-op system for a bigger game.Remember that Aprone did, after all, concede to C2 being a smaller, simpler game. With that in mind, I'd rather not have a quick hack game try to turn into an MMO (Swamp, this is in reference to you).Kai

Hi, I found a problem, which not everyone is going to have but still at least is a problem for me lol. I have a crappy keyboard and the wire has a short in it, well, when it disconnected from my computer which it does sometimes, and reconnected it would not let me move, or even change windows it like completely froze everything up, I had like 3 hours of single player progress that I lost because i had to shut down my computer and restart it to regain control.

@Aprone, I gather there will be improvements and such, and I certainly wasn't expecting everything to be in at this stage, (heck I remember the swamp beta),I am just concerned about the direction and meta structure, sinse while it's certainly true there are people who enjoy that sort of weekly race you describe, there are also people who are less fans of the hole pvp thing.Swamp is very good at accommodating both, so I hope castaways 2 will be as well, though obviously things need expanding and putting together.

Hi Aprone and everyone, I'm having a few problems playing the beta.  First of all pressing shift grave won't open the online market, so I've no way to buy crops or live animals, even though I do have some coins.  I'm also unable to buy things from my store house, and I'm wasting all my food energy on small repetitive tasks like gathering grass and making twine and so on.  I keep running out of food and the only buildings I have are 1 house, my store house and a hut for my chickens.  I looked in the chicken hut but no eggs or chickens as yet, so again no food for my workers.  Does anyone have any tips?  This has probably already been reported, but I keep having to log back in every so often, because the game isn't displaying my inventory properly, so jobs aren't showing up the way they should be.  I'd be glad of any tips on food, as all I have right now are apples and olives which don't really cou

Aedan, the tiles that are not under your mind entrance will remain unknown.  As you extend the mine tunnels, it reveals what more unknown tiles are.  Find the coordinates of your mine, lets pretend it is at D-6.  When you go into the underground view (shift+down arrow) you should have a mine exit at D-7.  Then you'll have revealed tiles on the 4 tiles that are directly north, south, east, and west of the mine exit.  Those revealed tiles are the only ones you can interact with.  Once you tunnel one of those out, all tiles touching the new mine tunnel will become revealed as well.  Over time you will reveal everything buried under your lands.SLJ, I am adding support for a language.txt file.

Hello all,To explore the mining you should dig into the available sides you have. So when you have a coall and three dig sides, you should dig into one of these to make that side collapse so your worker will make a tunnel out of it so more digging sides in that surrounding will become available.i still can't connect to multiplayer btw.hthgreetz mike

Aprone I have a huge request: It would be awesome to translate the game into other languages. Will it be possible to use the gettext system so people can use poedit to make their translations? This system is very easy to use and works really great.

Oh, I'm sorry Kyle. I misunderstood your reply. I really need a hint regarding to minding. I have build the stairs and everything is unknown down there, properly because there isn't any light. To make a candle, do I then need wool? The only way to get wool is from the sheep right? The issue is that I don't have any coins left, and I see an issue because when you buy a random animal, you can't be sure you'll get a sheep. If wool is that important to get something done down in the mind, then you can easily be screwed. Well, I hope I'm missing something, and I just need a hint on what to look for.
