Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

That really depends on the instrument as some synths, like the Roland Boutiques for example have just an audio input simply for chaining devices and no effects apply to that.

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Cool, than I'll find you for sure. But another Little question I have before wich came to mind: Lots of Hardware synths have own effects and such for the synth directly. So if the synth has Audio Inputs, is it possible to use even internal effects with the own voice and a microfone, even if the synth has no Vocoder especially for voice? Or does it depend on the Instrument?

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Hi @manfromthedark, I haven't skype installed at the moment, but I will and if I have it, we can surely talk on skype, thank you for this offer, I'll let you know. Maybe you can send me the documentation material you made for the instruments we both have. BTW: for wich instruments you made own documentation or notes about menus and such? Maybe that could help me as well and if you would be so kind to send them to me via Mail or as download link, the work hasn't to be done twice. It could be the case that I have lots of questions in our skype talks, so don't be disappointed I fear that I am far away from your level at the moment. But I am incredibly interested in the possibilities of midi and CV/gate to control synths remotely this way for example but where I am at the moment, I never chained instruments together, I simply have the imagination that it could be cool if they synchronize, have theier own part and some do it automatically, while I have to play one myself for example, like a band of electronic instruments and such. I am experimenting at the moment and new to synths and the like, but because of that it is so important to me to have one who can help with his knowledge. So, be pacient with me, i feel that there's so much I don't know at the moment.

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Hey, Niklas! May be, if you use skype, we should rather hook up there, as we also could talk. If not, then we just stick to this way of comunication.Regarding R3, it actually has not two, but five displays, but in fact it doesn't matter, as it's menu system is basically really similar to the Microkorg's. You've got a single page dial, instead of Microkorg's two and four knobs, instead of five on the Microkorg.

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Ah, so the R3 is even usable for us? It looks interesting as well but I was scared off a bit as I read that it has two displays. I thought it would be not good to use by a blind person for this reason, but if the user interface is not too menu based or if you have more info in how do you use it, i might give it another look. I hope it is okay that I am asking you so much but I don't know many blind people wich are using hardware instruments and am happy that I found you here as well as some people on the QWS list as well.

Aphex Vintage Exciter is a software modeling of actual hardware, and is KNS-ready, so parameter knobs on any komplete kontrol keyboard can be used to modify parameters. This also means that it is completely and totally accessible.

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Well, both Neutron and Crave have no keys and are desktop modules not of that big kind, but the vocoder has like 49 keys, if I'm not mistaken, so that one would need more space. Neutron is also one of them things, that can be taken out of the case and fitted into eurorack.

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

Hmm, so not easy to decide on the Microfreak. Maybe the mutable instruments module would be better.Oh yeah, I have some behringer synths on my list as well. The Neutron, the crave and even the string synth with Vocoder look interesting as well. But do you know how big the behringer synths are? I have no Imagination regarding them, are those even small synths like the microkorg or minibrute or are the behringer synths as big as, for example, a Keyboard with 61 fullsize keys or such? If I know how big the behringer synths are, I know if i can put them into a cabinet if I don't Need it and If I want to Play i could put it onto my table or if I Need more space for them

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

MicroFreak is heavily based on the Mutable instruments Plaits eurorack module and I chose to get the module instead of the Arturia standalone thingie. Regarding it's usability, there still seem to be quite an amount of settings in the menu. If those touch icons are similar to the ones on the DrumBrute machines, then they are completely usable and that Buchla style touch sensor keybord - well, I haven't seen the Freak myself, but a blind fellow has and confirmed, that those keys have tactile edges between them, so waaay better than the Volca smooth surfice. As the year ends, it's quite usual time to get something new and this time it's gonna be the Behringer's new Td-3, a clone of the Roland Tb-303. Yep, I already have the Boutique version by Roland themselves, but it's digital and in this particular case the modelling isn't really authentic enough, but the Behringer is fully analog. Yep, described as light plastic thing, but the original was that as well. Previously Cyclone Analogic's tt-303 was also made of plastic, but in Behringer's case it's the price, that makes it easy to decide. So yeah, we'll wait and see!

Re: another musical question regarding effect devices for the voice

And another question: Has anyone experiences with the new arturia micro freak? How is it with the usability for the blind? From what I know, Arturia uses the one knob per function principe where it is possible and from what I read, the micro freak seems to be relatively easy to handle. The only thing I am unsure about at the moment are the sensoric buttons. Can we feel where each sensor is? Maybe someone can report about it. I know it has a display, but from what I saw in tests and such there are no or not so many and complex menus. I will check the manual though, but I think experiences from a blinds perspective are not bad as well.
