2004-11-04 Thread Andrae, Tobias
Hello George,
hello Rajendra,

you are right - in a way. Of course problems like this should be fixed by Microsoft.
But: This group is not the right place to ask for these corrections.
Just open the Partnersource, if you are a MS partner, and report this issues in the
service system.
If you do not have access you may want to report the issue to your business partner.
ok?

Best regards, Tobias

Absolutely, I agree completely with Subbu and George. These are the
foundations of any ERP system. I too am making a career out of Axapta and I do indeed
want Axapta to be a robust system. Microsoft should take note of this and fix them
immediately.

On sidelines of this, I would also like to mention that it's very easy to
in-advertently edit a field in Axaptaand nowsince you have changed something
accidentlyobviously you now would want to undo this unwanted edit. But there is no
such "undo" that you can do in Axapta which will undo what you have accidently done.
And this is just all over the package. Is there any solution to this? You can also
delete various records all over Axapta. Who would ever want to delete a legal document
in the system it may be needed anytime in the future for reference. There is no
Alt-Print Scrn to snag a screen shot which is a defacto standard in modern day
applications. If you customize the application then the user set up permissions tree
cascading breaks although you may not have touched the user set up even remotely and
microsoft doesn't have any solution to it.

These are not criticism's but inputs to upgrade the product robustness.

Hallo,

Maybe
You could use overlapping quantity and modify the process time, f.e. if normally
workctr1 does 40 pcs per hour
but
workctr1 and workctr2 ran parallel does 30 pcs per hour, you can modify for both
operation process time and qty
to 30
pcs per hour and set overlap qty for first operation per 1. This way system will
treat the both operations as
sequential but difference between start time will be so
little that capacity will be reserved almost at the same
time.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Customized Reports in Axapta

2004-11-04 Thread roberto pineda

I made a report with many columns, i.e. 14 columns,
[12 months, one of description and
one for accumulated balance]. The problem is that I
need that report show all
in al single line, but if I use "Auto [Left]"
property, the report will give me
two lines. I need all data in one line because I need
to make a sum of
every column.

My temporally solution was reduce the font Size to 7,
but some users have
problems read it, and larger numbers will only show
asterisks [].

I used the default "Width" property of the every
control [except the shapes],
to avoid losing information, but I didn’t use the
default "Top" and "Left"
property values.

One more thing, we have many clients in different
countries. Every country
use their own printer model. I’m not sure if this
situation can produce
problems, because when I create a report in XXX
country, and they look at it
in YYY country, they said: "This report does not have
alignments in the titles
with the data".

Thanks a lot, for any help.

The setup you show is erroring because the primary/secondary need to
reference the same step and operation, not 10/20 and 1/2 like you have
attempted to define.

This Axapta function is commonly used to schedule secondary resources
for the same capacity reservation as the primary and would be used to do
something like synchronize scheduling for an operator and a tool with
the machine that they serve. The route would look like this.

10 Primary Drilling NC Machine #1
10 Secondary 1 Drilling NC Operator #3
10 Secondary 2 Drilling NC Jig #14

Notice that the Step "10" and Operation "Drilling" is common for all
three route lines. There is a Primary and two Secondaries. This "binds"
the resources for scheduling purposes.

When scheduling is run the operator and the jig will be scheduled for
the same working time as the NC Machine.

What you are trying to do is commonly referred to as "alternative"
routing, where an alternate resource is used to share the work. Axapta
will not do this scheduling-wise because it will do the entire capacity
reservation on the same resource from start to finish. However, when
adding lines to the Route Card journal one can choose to "charge" the
hours against an "alternate" work center. For example, the journal line
will default to the resource listed on the Production Route when a new
line is added to the journal, but the user can override this. In you
case the NC machine would have reservations for the order, but on the
journal line General tab, this could be changed to Work Center "Drill
Press 1" before posting the journal.

Hope this helps to clarify your case.

YNT: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Multiple workcenters parallel using same operation name

2004-11-04 Thread Gokhan Can
Thank you for your notice but I am not trying to run parallel shared operation just
for costing.
I also wanna watch the capacity planning and already existing empty capacity.

If I just write the primary operation to the route and write secondary work center
work to the journal my costing will be calculated true but my capacity planing will
work wrongly.

10 primary operation workctr10
20 secondary operation workctr20

I wrote wrongly my setup was like this trying to add run 2 operations at the same time
with 2 different machines.

your setup shows an error too .

operation name

Hi all;

I have a problem about work centers and operations.

I usually do an operation with one work center but If another work
center is empty I can divide my
operation into two parallel operations in one route .

But in axapta it does not let me to do this

as an example I can make holes on a plate by automated machine but if I
have my manually machine empty I can make some of holes by using
manually machine.

10 primary operation 1workctr10
20 secondary operation 2workctr20

I get an error right here

Has anybody noticed this kind of problem?

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] retrieving labeltext from a reportfield

2004-11-04 Thread Andries Patrick
Title: Message

Hello,

I'm trying to
retrieve the labeltext printed on a report.

I can retrieve this
text with field.label() if there is acctually put a label on the field in the
report, but not if the label is taken from the datafield or from the
EDT.

Does anybody knows
if we can use the method that axapta uses to print this
label.

Thanks
Patrick

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Isn't weired with Axapta?

2004-11-04 Thread Van Den Langenbergh Gunther

Hi subbu,

I want to add some thing to the solution already offered. I'm pretty
sure Axapta will detect this one by doing a consistency check on the
vendor (it's somewhere in Basic - periodic)
So if you will hunt down this kinds of 'faults' you could run this
checks. They are originated not only by human mistakes but also because
of crashes and other things. Probably Axapta will not automaticaly
correct this error because it will not now the intention (add it again
to payment terms or delete it for all the vendors?).

Greetz,

Gunther

Ax3.0 with SP3:

Hi,
I have created a new vendor and attached payment terms to 'A'.
I went to the table and deleted record 'A'. Now, I came to the vendor
which I just created and found still its using payment terms 'A' even
though its deleted at the table level.

I have two questions.

1. Do you think if it is allowed to delete a record when its in use?
is it not violating the RDMS concept against the data integrity?

2. Its still showing up the 'A'. I cleared the user cache, but still its
showing 'A' for the vendor.

I am just wondering if you accept this issue with me.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!.
Is Axapta going to screw my Implemetation ( Largest in USA )? I don't
want to support this type of systems!.

Thanks,
Subbu
