[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Controlling Paper ejection in Axapta

2006-04-25 Thread sri

Dear All,

Can some one tell me, if there is some way i can
control the paper ejection through Axapta. As we are
planning to print cheques from Axapta using continuous
stationery. My problem is when i try to print the
cheques batch wise, the entire A4 sheet gets ejected.
The sheet of a cheque is however much smaller. I would
like only that much paper to get ejected.

Sri

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Urgent: Working with lookups in a form

2006-04-25 Thread Satish

Hi guys,

I've created a form. The form is linked to a Header_Table and a
Detail_Table. Now, i try to let the user select a field(which is the
primary key) from the Header_Table using a lookup in my form.

Based on the value of this primary key, i try to display the contents
of the Header_Table in the form's header section, and the contents of
the DetailTable in a grid.

I'm really stuck on 2 counts...
1) Creating and using lookups in Axapta.
2) Pulling data from SQL based on the value input by the user.

If i create lookups using the foreign key relationship in a table,
then the value selected from the lookup is not stored in the new
table upon closing the form. Also, once selected, the other related
fields dont refresh.

I'm new to Axapta, so my query may seem a bit silly... But, i'm
really stuck with this one :(

I would appreciate a little detailed solution... a bit of sample code
would be wonderful :)

Thanx in anticipation.

Regards,
Satish

Hai,

Regarding the Lookup, if u r using Extended data type then there is no need to write a lookup(provide u don't need a customized lookup). If u want to create a lookup form just see the InventLookup form under the Forms node in AOT.

regarding the filtration u can do this using the executeQuery method(Override) .In that method write query like shown below

 Note:
set the auto declartion property to yes for the fieldname(form field)

 select Header_table
 where
 Header_table.fieldname == fieldname(form field).valuestr()

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Urgent: Working with lookups in a form

2006-04-25 Thread Brandon George

Also I have wrote and entry on my blog for creating custom lookup forms:
http://dynamics-ax.blogspot.com/2006/03/replacing-default-lookup-form.ht
ml

Hopefully this will be of some help to you as well. If I ever need to
lookup anything, then I usually have to create my own custom lookup
form, because the default one's don't display all the correct
information that a user would like to use in order to lookup an item,
for example.

After reading through post your questions, and I or someone will try
their best to answer your questions.

Thanks,
Brandon

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Reverse Payment Journal with Status None

2006-04-25 Thread Bonk, David

Shiela;

If the journal is posted, the only steps that I can suggest is go to the
bank and see if the checks are there where you can reverse them (my
guess is that they will not be there as there appears to be a problem
with your set-up). The only other step that I can think of is to
reverse the closed transaction through the supplier accounts but this
reverses both the payment and the invoice. Take a back-up of your
production company and test these out to be sure that they work for you.

As far as the posting of the payment journal; the payment process is a
multi-step, manual process. You must first select the vouchers that you
want to pay, make the payments and then post. I do not understand your
comment as it suggests that the journal is posted automatically.
Posting should only be done if the printing is completed satisfactorily.

Hello. I have only been using Axapta for a few months as an
accountant, not a programmer/developer. Can anyone tell me the best
way to completely reverse ALL transactions in a payment journal that
has the payment status of None, no check numbers assigned, but has
been posted? Also, is there a way to stop postings before check
numbers have been assigned and checks printed?
Thank you,

Hi VG,

The closest I could get was this :

SysDictField sdf = new SysDictField(tableNum(InventTable), fieldNum(InventTable, ItemId));

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] changing the value in the combobox thru code

2006-04-25 Thread Brandon George

Just like I sent earlier, I have a blog entry on my blog:
http://dynamics-ax.blogspot.com/2006/03/replacing-default-lookup-form.ht
ml

That will take you through doing this. Basically it's not a combo box
you want to use, but rather a StringEdit. Then create a ExtDataType that
is derives from, set the lookup button to always, and then override the
lookup() method.

>From here you should be able to go through and use my post above to
create your own custom lookup form.

Thanks,
Brandon

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Reverse Payment Journal with Status None

2006-04-25 Thread novembercalendar

We had this happen to us, initially, when we first implemented - a
user posted the payment journal, before the checks were even
generated!

To prevent this from happening again, set up some posting controls
in the methods of payment:
Accounts payableSetupPaymentMethods of payment. In the Overview
grid, change the payment status for the method of payment you issue
checks from, to a status of Sent. Only if the status is Sent
(which is what Axapta labels payment lines once the check is
generated)will the journal be allowed to post.

Hope this helps!
MC

[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

 Shiela;

If the journal is posted, the only steps that I can suggest is go
to the
bank and see if the checks are there where you can reverse them (my
guess is that they will not be there as there appears to be a
problem
with your set-up). The only other step that I can think of is to
reverse the closed transaction through the supplier accounts but
this
reverses both the payment and the invoice. Take a back-up of your
production company and test these out to be sure that they work
for you.

As far as the posting of the payment journal; the payment process
is a
multi-step, manual process. You must first select the vouchers
that you
want to pay, make the payments and then post. I do not understand
your
comment as it suggests that the journal is posted automatically.
Posting should only be done if the printing is completed
satisfactorily.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] RMA process broken in Axapta?

2006-04-25 Thread jimbow3012

My end-users are reporting the following problem:

When an internal NCR is processes to return parts to the vendor, the
AXAPTA process is to issue an RMA purchase order. The on order qty
on teh purchase order reflects the qty being returned in the
negative. When the parts are shipped, the system changes the on
order qty to zero (0). The business process issue as a result is
that the Buyer(s) no longer has the visibility of the qty that is at
the supplier being repaired. Simply, the qty is no longer in AXAPTRA
showing available [on order] as a result of a return.

Additionally, the order never goes away even after receipt.

Anyone else use the RMA process in Axapta?
Do you do it differently?
ANyone have an idea on how I can resolve this?

Thanks in Advance
James

Is there any Setup that I missed?

2006-04-25 Thread Hardi

Hi all, I have situation like this:
One physical workcenter is always produce 2 different item numbers.
As I know that in Axapta we create 1 production order per item, then
according to the case above, when I create 1 production order for
first item, I need to create another production order for the second
item with the same qty. Same treatment should applied when I update
route card and report as finished (the qty is linked each other).

I would think to create a new dummy item to represent these original
items (as they will be used together later anyway) so I can only run
one production order.
But for some reasons I want to have separate on-hand of those items.

How to achieve this?
Can I create a kind of reverse BOM journal?

Thanks best regards

Hardi

 Hai hema,

Go to the password field property sheet, and set the password style yes.The password you entered will be stored as string. For further reference see the SysUserSetup form in the AOT under the form node.
