Re: Axis2 and Maven

2007-05-02 Thread lightbulb432

When you have a project that depends on the axis2 artifact and you do a mvn
deploy, all of the Axis2 JARs (e.g. axis2-adb, axis2-codegen, etc...) get
imported automatically into the WAR file as specified in my pom.xml, which
I'd expect to happen.

Why, though, do these JARs not get stored in my local repository like all
other depedendencies that are downloaded automatically? How can I make this
happen without specifying a direct dependency to each of Axis2's
dependencies in my project's pom.xml?

Also, I looked at the .pom of Axis2 1.2
(http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/pub/mirrors/maven2/org/apache/axis2/axis2/1.2/axis2-1.2.pom)
and noticed that every module is given as a
modules/artifactName.

However, relative to the axis2 artifact where .pom is located, these other
artifacts are not located at that relative link. Shouldn't it be
../../artifactName instead to get the relative links to
resolve properly? (Also, there is no modules folder in this repository.)

RE: Axis2 and Maven

2007-04-19 Thread Ted Leung

The following is a pom.xml I just made based on the libraries provided in the
axis2 download.
There are 2 things to note,
1) I couldn't find woden, so I added it to my own local repository
2) axiom 1.2.3 has different behaviour to 1.2.2, I don't know if it's a new
bug or if it's a bug fix, but when running against xfire servers , 1.2.3
won't provide proper exceptions, where as 1.2.2 does. It complains about
"getFirstSOAPText() not allowed for SOAP 1.1!"

anyways, below is a pom.xml, hopefully the axis guys will set one up for us
in the future.

Re: Axis2 and Maven

2007-04-18 Thread John R. Hover
I've noticed an issue with the axis2-java2wsdl maven 2 plugin related
this discussion.

It doesn't seem to be able to use the current project to resolve the
class that should be converted to wsdl. In other words, the current
maven project doesn't appear to be added to the classpath by default,
and I haven't ever found a way to add it explicitly.

Ideally converting to wsdl should be possible even before the compile
lifecycle phase (i.e. from the .java files), but at the very least it
should be possible to run the plugin bound to the process-classes phase
after the classes are in target/classes.

At least two other posts to this list have brought this up, but without
any response. Is this the right list to ask on?

Thanks,

Try to depend on

  org.apache.axis2
  axis2
1.1.1

It will save you about 10 jars.

Once you get it fully working, can you also post that dependency list to
this mailing list? I think many people will find that list useful.

In my

Plus

In making my project's pom.xml is there any way for me to know what's
the
best way to specify the of each dependency, rather than keeping
all
to default? For example, which are runtime, compile, test, provided,

pom.xml's that show this?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the links. When you do a "mvn package" in your project that
depends on Axis2, is the Axis2 JAR that gets put in your local repository ~
14 MB, or is it only 1.5 MB?

1.5 MB

When I do the maven command it's the latter,
but when I download directly from the Axis2 website it's the former, so
clearly it's missing all the dependencies!

Seems like you are talking about the Axis2 binary distribution... You
cannot make it a dependency as whole to your projects. It is a package
made for the distribution, not to use with maven... You will need to
get maven to download the individual jars & mars (modules) you
wanted..

Thanks,

RE: Axis2 and Maven

2007-04-12 Thread lightbulb432

Thanks for the responses. Is Maven2 support expected to be added anytime
soon? If no, is there any way for this to be compatible with the rest of my
project that uses Maven2? How would you go about making it work - I can't
seem to think of any good way to organize the way I approach my project but
keeping all the benefits of Maven-based management.

Thanks.

For the record and benifit for newcommers, I think it would be appropriate also
to point to the official help:

http://ws.apache.org/axis2/svn.html

Re: Axis2 and Maven

2007-04-12 Thread Alistair Young
svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/webservices/axis2/trunk/java trunk

then for a quick build

maven -Dskip.enterprise.tests=true -Dmaven.test.skip=true clean release dist
