Hello all,
First of all, apologies for any duplicates. Since the below is a very
important announcement, I wish to send this out to as many people as
possible. Second, if you are not using the Windows 7 Beta, then you can
ignore this message.
I'd like to inform you that from tomorrow (July 1), those using the
Windows 7 Beta will experience bi-hourly shutdowns. You should therefore
do any of the following:

1. Back up your files.
2. Reinstall your previous operating system, such as Windows XP or
Windows Vista.

- or -
3. Upgrade to the Wimdows 7 RC (Release Candidate). A clean install is
required for this to work.
You can find out more about the RC, and download your copy, from
www.windows7.com.

Thanks for reading!

Hello Arianna.

Thanks fore trying to help me out with this problem. Did the problem
correct itself on your end eventually? or did you delete all, or some of
the folders such as inbox outbox sent and delete folders? do you think i
should try that and see if the problem gets resolved? what do you and the
rest of the list members think. Also, when I reply directly to the list,
or if I'm just sending a reply message to someone, when I go too read it
back, I can't read either word by word using the control right arrow key, I
have to go completely out of the message altogether, and go back in and
rewrite the message all over again. This is, and gets to be very
frustrating, as I thought that possibly, jaws 10 release would have fixed
this anoying problem with outlook express 6 along with windows xp home
addition, with service pack 3 installed.

About a week ago, I posted this problem to the jaws users list, in the
hopes that someone could suggest a solution too the following problem.

Using jaws 10 with outlook express 6, and windows xp home addition with
service pack 3, it seems that whenever I open a message that someone has
sent, then delete it, whenever I open the next message, the subject line of
the previous message is being read. I’ve tried doing a repair of jaws, as
well as a jaws modify, but It didn’t solve the problem. I’m going to post

If you're using JAWS 8 or earlier then IE8 won't work for you. I suggest
reverting back to IE7 if your screen reader doesn't work with IE8.

Hi
Today my IE 7 decided to update to IE 8. I thought it sounded like a
good idea. So, I told it to go ahead. Now it will only run with add ons
disabled and when I bring up my home page (Google) it says I need to press a
button to open parent document. First, how do I turn on add ons in IE 8 and
second, how do I get IE 8 to display the real Google page?
Thank you for your help.

It depends. Sorry I can't give a more definitive answer, but some features
of IE 8 work fine with JAWS 9, while others don't. For instance, the JAWS
read Address Bar command, Insert-A, does not work with JAWS 9, although I
understand that it does work with the latest build of JAWS 10. And
depending on which IE add-ons you have enabled, some web pages may not load.
Try it for yourself. If it doesn't work for you, you can easily uninstall
it and revert to IE 7 like I did.

Hi Chris,
Actually, I am using JAWS 9 on that computer. Is this version of JAWS
compatible with IE 8?

If you're using JAWS 8 or earlier then IE8 won't work for you. I suggest
reverting back to IE7 if your screen reader doesn't work with IE8.

Hi
Today my IE 7 decided to update to IE 8. I thought it sounded like a
good idea. So, I told it to go ahead. Now it will only run with add ons
disabled and when I bring up my home page (Google) it says I need to press a
button to open parent document. First, how do I turn on add ons in IE 8 and
second, how do I get IE 8 to display the real Google page?
Thank you for your help.

God bless,

Yvonne, It sounds like microsoft has snuck into your i e settings. This
is

happening more often lately. Go to tools, options and arrow to all the
stuff about home page. You might have to delete the hot mail entry and
then

type in your home page choice again. marilyn

[Blind-Computing] Important announcement regarding Windows 7 Beta

2009-06-30 Thread Chris Hallsworth

Hello all,
First of all, apologies for any duplicates. Since the below is a very
important announcement, I wish to send this out to as many people as
possible. Second, if you are not using the Windows 7 Beta, then you can
ignore this message.
I'd like to inform you that from tomorrow (July 1), those using the Windows
7 Beta will experience bi-hourly shutdowns. You should therefore do any of
the following:

1. Back up your files.
2. Reinstall your previous operating system, such as Windows XP or Windows
Vista.

- or -
3. Upgrade to the Wimdows 7 RC (Release Candidate). A clean install is
required for this to work.
You can find out more about the RC, and download your copy, from
www.windows7.com.

Thanks for reading!
