The two programs you mention are on demand scanners and not real-time anti-virus programs, so it is not necessary to first remove them before installing MSE. You can continue to use them in conjunction with MSE for added malware protection. Re: [Blind-Computing] ANDRE LEWIS SOUND SCAPES FOR WINDOWS 7
As I understand it, it's a sound scape which means that it will just be one more added to those already in the Sounds and Audio section of the control panel. If it doesn't work, I'll just go back into that settings display and load another one which would include the Windows Default, the one Windows 7 uses automatically. There are lots of different sound scapes there. I'm really curious to see if any of those other ones make a difference. That remains to be seen. Even at the worst of times, the speech would still work so these are just additional sounds which tell you what your computer is doing. Re: [Blind-Computing] 7 unzip
Hi Yvonne, When using the 7Zip program, you press enter on the add to archive option, to archive / compress a file, you are given 4 options of what you would like the file extension to be, or which method of compressing you would like to use. They are as follows; 1. 7z. 2. tar. 3. wim. 4. zip. If I have confused you as much as I did myself trying to explain this I do apologize! LOL LOL Hope this might have helped, a little?! Take care. Re: [Blind-Computing] ALTERNATE WINDOWS SOUND SCAPES
You actualy should be able to change any sound of any sound scheme to what you want it to be. I do not know about win 7 but in xp this is done in the sound and audio applet from control panel. When you select your sound scheme, you are also given a list of all the sounds in it and are able to tab thru the options. You are able to manually select a sound for each event in the sound scheme. Safe your existing sound scheme before you make changes though. Have fun!
