Hi Inthane Elf & Norman,

Well, I went the way of USB cable connection because I don't have wireless
cards in the 2 desktops & this new all in 1 didn't have an ethernet cable
port after all. Everything is now up & working excellent! Thank you for
your input.

if you have the ports on your router for it, that would be the really nice
way to do it, since that makes it universal instead of tied to one computer.

and although I can understand Norman's aversion to "wire's going all over
the place" I still value my networks speed over the trouble with Ethernet
cables (yes, wireless is up to 300 mbps, but wired is 1000, quite a
difference)

Hi.
I would do it that way if I couldn't do wireless.
I have an hp all in one here which I use with one computer.
I got sighted assistance and connected it to the router via wireless.
It works great.
I don't think I'll use usb unless it's absolutely necessary.
As you may have figured out by now I don't like a lot of wires going every
which way.

like to get the opinions of the list of the installation method. We share
the printer between 3 computers via a network & in the past we've always
hooked the all in 1 up to 1 computer with an USB cable. Well, this

plugging it into the router. Does anyone have experience with this method &

Thank you for your input. Now, come to find out, this printer is not
ethernet cable compatible. So, we'll just have to go the USB cable route.
It would have been nice to have the ethernet cable accessibility & being

One advantage I see with this is that you don't need a specific

through our router but wirelessly rather than hard wired

Try the following:

This is how I do it. Open the control panel and go to Printers and Faxes.
Click on your printer name, to open it; find the print job you want to
cancel and press the delete key. Hope this helps.

Dear Friends,
I had my computer jam, a paper stuck, after I cleared it, the computer kept
giving me a message that a file did not print, and to go to somewhere, I
cannot catch the message, as it only flashes for half a second.
I am using Windows XP-Home, JAWS 11, and need to delete this file from the
computer's memory.
Can some kind person tell me where to go, and how to get there!
LOL!
That sounds funny!
Anyway, the computer will not print another page till I clear this file out
of it's path.
I imagine it is in the Printer Options, but I do not know how to get there!

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi.
There might be some letters in the model number as well.
Make sure you include those as well.
Another way that might work.
I think you can plug in your printer and then go check for updates.
I believe the printer should show up as an update.

Hi John,
You should go to the manufacturer's website, look for the model, and
download the latest driver.

They will often have drivers for windows 7.
It is mostly possible to use your old printer on the new computer unless it
is really really old!
What is the model of the printer. I can look for drivers and email you the
link.

[Blind-Computing] Printer spooler error

2012-04-18 Thread Lennie

Hi,

I was trying to install the software for my new Brother laser printer
using ethernet on my XP laptop computer. However, The installation
did not work since I have a spooler subsystem error during the
installation and it was not successful.

I have a Canon F30 3 in one ink jet printer connected via USB to my
laptop and the printer still can print documents. I can also print on
my new Brother printer from my desktop computer without any problems.

According to Microsoft, the solution is too complicated since you
have to delete files in safe mode and delete entries in the registry
which I do not dare to touch.
My question is this. There is a software called printer spooler fix
and I am wondering if anyone have used this program to fix spooler
errors and does it really work?

Here is the URL for printe spooler:

http://www.printer-spooler.com

Any information on this matter will greatly be appreciated otherwise
I am going to have to get a tech support person to correct this problem.

Thanks in advance and take care.

Lennie

It means that you can send things to the printer and it will be printed
the next time you plug in your printer.

Thanks.

Hi Patricia,
Go into: Startmenu, Settings, Printers and faxes, select the printer you
want to use and from the FileMenu choose "Set as default printer" and
press

enter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Printer Woes

I need to know how to get this stupid printer of mine to stay selected in
Word instead of always being on the Freedom Printer. Can anyone help me
please?

I have tried to select it in the printer properties when I want to print
in

Word and I can do that but heck not every time...

I looked in the control panel and under printers and selected it there too
but still it wants to go back to this Freedom printer for some reason.
I've
not changed printers this is the same one I've used and used and it's in
the

list of printer, but why now it is on this Freedom one is puzzling me.
The first time I tried to print a document this afternoon, it took me to
Open Book.
That has never happened before very strange..

So can anyone help me get back on track?

Thanks,

Patricia
