 Hi Alvaro,

From wich country you are? I had been several times in Tanzania to see
how they are working. They have barcode reader as I mentioned before, I
haven't seen it on those hospitals working with care2x.
The original question was why it's not visible and that's the answer for
it. Please note that it came to me as specific hospital requirement and
 so its just commented out.
All other scopes of typically daily work of e.g. the OPD are covered. We
haven't focused barcode reader because that was not in the priority list
or even needed. If you are satisfy, you can use the system out of the
box. If not then you might have the possibility to reactivate the
barcodes. That's no problem, that's open source. I just showed the code
 we are working now.
Please let me know when you've released the code changes - it seems we
should be able to configure it at administration menu on care2x that all
 are happy :-)
It's an developers mailing list, isn't it?

I can do that as well when I will find time to implement it and will
 commit it.

Hi,

Sorry for the misunderstanding and if it could be understand that I
decided it, that's not true. And yes, it's true what you describe: I
know at least from one hospital in Kenya (Kijabe) that they have
barcode reader for tracking and using own maintained care2x version for
registration purpose what I do not know exactly. But those hospitals I
saw in Tanzania they don't have. That's the reason why we just commented
it out for those hospitals what using this version. It's just came to
me as hospital requirement.

...apologizing the trouble caused

Re: [Care2002-developers] Care2002-developers Digest, Vol 27, Issue 7

2008-07-09 Thread Robert Meggle
Hi Lopo,

Humaneasy Consulting wrote:
 Hi Robert (and Marcel Arnold),

 Long time no talk :)

Then it must be done the first step. I haven't recognized that it had
not comitted some time ago, my svn script hang. So we had to check in
again yesterday. But's the same like the elc_tanzania branch we had
before...

What are the diferences from Care2007 and Care2utu?

uh, good question. Care2utu is what we did for Tanzania. several
implementations are there that it can be used as outpatient clinic
version of the current care2x. Including a own billing system what will
collect items what can be charged to an patient (because those countries
are used to get the money before the service will given, that a drug
must be paid before the patient will get it - as outpatient)

I noticed that in the last one there are some file directories (like Hydom
scripts) that would be better somewhere in include or classes or
plugins or modules. On the first one there are also some directories
that are on the web root and could be somewhere in a sub-directory, like
pharma and radiology. Is there a reason for those to be on the root
 level?

no - what we updated are the real developer version - and Hydom
Scripts is e.g. what had been done for specific changes for one
hospital at registartion. It's a real developer commit...

Also -- and this may have being missed by me for quite some time -- what is
the diference between modules and plugins? Are there seperated API for
 each case?

We implemented all as modules, plugins we haven't used.
Not a criticism, just to understand how is organized the program structure
without reading all the docs :)

No problem. This is the same version what had been former comitted from
time to time at the tanzanian branch of care2x. Now we thought it wold
be good to from it out as independend kind of care2x. So it is more
and less orientated to countries outside EU or US. Like Tz..
Actually we kicked also all other languages out what we were not able to
serve.

Robert

 Best and thanks,

 Lopo

 Lopo

Hello Robert,

An apology is due to you as we know that you are among the long time
devotees to the Care2x project.

Show us more of your code, show us less of your words.
 Do you know this side?
 http://care2002.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/care2002/trunk/

Yes. But it is empty isn't it?

I have committed it to the care2utu trunk some time ago on what I am
 working...

We have now a mystery story: The case of the missing code.

right now the testing phase is running and it seems that fix
it is working. Next commitment to SF.NET is now planned to next week.

As I have said before: Show us more of your code. Show us your running
code. Don't strip anything from it before committing it to the CVS.
Doing that will cripple it and introduce a few unintended bugs. Show it
to us and we will help to debug it.

Never mind those Chinese boys from the 126.com addresses. We never know
when they will friends or foes, but even if they were only eager to get
their hands on a quick fix to assemble a commercial package, we should
follow the Bill Gates Afforism: If they must steal from someone, let
them steal from us.

Thank you very much, I am happy anyway. But I do not understand your
 worries.

Still waters aren't the best thing for an open source software project.
Ideas stop flowing. Code stops being committed. People start looking for
other projects. And Care2x has a lot of good ideas behind it and very
workable code, hasn't it?

By the way, what's your real name, Mr. M? Is your first name maybe

what happen why it's empty. But you can find it alternatively, little

trying to be polite.

But you can find it alternatively, little
bit older under the branch elc-tanzania-0-2.

Last committed code was 11 months ago.
And, if I recall well, it does not address the PHP5 problem that started
this thread.

If I am not wrong your previous post ... right now the testing phase is
running and it seems that fix it is working., does not apply to this

All other parts of your troll-message I kicked out.

You are welcome as I believe that this is your way of being kind and

Yes.

First: Make Care2x work with the currently supported versions of the
tools it needs to do its work. Most notably, make it work over PHP5.

Second: Describe a simple step-by-step procedure on how to
install/update Care2x over a free and widely available platform, say,

SQL-Ledger is just one of the possible free invoice systems. Why do you

While our knowledge is free to share among fellow Care2x developer's,
our time is not free to spend with http://merotech.de/ employees.

If you are willing to pay, then we will be willing to teach you on the
particular value of each of the available open source billing packages.

Although we are sure that, by googling a bit, you will be able to find
several papers on the subject, some of them sponsored by the EU.

 Still working on that.

 Congratulations for that.

Thank you for commenting it.
A project can just survive when there are sequences of reminding tasks.
But I see you always just complaining Is there anything what we can
do for you in a special case/scenario or do you want to give some
specific ideas to the suggestions of Bala?

 1. Care2x integrated with SimpleInvoices (another open source system) to
take care of billing / invoice management.
 2. Additional patient monitoring forms (Diabetic Drug Chart, Turning chart,

The standard seems to be SQL-Ledger, but you have difficulty with that
SimpleInvoices will have to do. Finally there seems to be some movement

SQL-Ledger is just one of the possible free invoice systems. Why do you
now focusing SQL-Ledger? Is it on your requirement list? Please tell us
more...

 2. The ZIP / PIN is being validated for 6 digits.

At least UK and Portugal use 7 alphanumeric codes.

That is a good hint! Thanks for that. So 7 instead of 6 digits.

Users in countries who's pin is less than 6 digits, please prefix
equivalent zeros. As to my knowledge there is no country which has PIN more
than 6 digits. If i am wrong in my assumption, please
  correct me.
 ---Info ends here---

You are very good and indeed pointing in the right direction.

Now we are just waiting to see this code made compatible with current
 PHP code (i.e., PHP 5.x).

Still working on that. We did it and ... maybe ... are you a volunteer
to test it? Please let us know.

Or, are you referring to [EMAIL PROTECTED], 2007.02.11, fix on

I have committed it to the care2utu trunk some time ago on what I am
working... right now the testing phase is running and it seems that fix
it is working. Next commitment to SF.NET is now planned to next week.

 Please let us know.

Thank you very much, I am happy anyway. But I do not understand your

By the way, what's your real name, Mr. M? Is your first name maybe
