[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Callmanager configuration backup & restore

2008-05-18 Thread sekchye goh
Hi!

is there a way to backup & restore the callmanager configuration on a
remote voice rack which does not have BARS installed?

I am currently renting remote voice racks and find it time consuming
to configure the previous callmanager settings all over again from
where I last stopped.

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards

i think dial-peer 1 is to catch all incoming call leg and match 4-digit ext.
dial-peer 9876 is to catch all incoming all, and applied no vad and
voice-class.
they are special dial-peer does not require port/session target command.
you can applied the direct call inward and no vad on all dial-peer in this
case, it is used to catch all.

dial-peer voice 1 pots
 incoming called-number .
 direct-inward-dial

dial-peer voice 9876 voip
 voice-class codec 1
 incoming called-number .
 no vad

There are no physical voice port associate to dial-peer 1 and
no session target of dial-peer 9876.

What is the meaning of those dial-peer? How is it being used?

Thanks.

I believe it is a "catch-all" like gateway of last resort in IP world to avoid
hitting the default dial-peer properties where it may not be desirable.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Voice Translation Rule

2008-05-18 Thread WorkerBee
So what is the purpose of attaching translation-profile directly under
the voice port
as compared to "translate command which also call upon the Translation rule".

Both seems to perform the same function to me in this example.

voice-port 0/2/0:23
 translation-profile incoming 110 < Direct Profile
 translate called 1

Translation profile allowed you to bind multiple translation-rule within.

translation-profile CISCO
 translate called 1
 translate calling 2

voice-port 0/2/0:23
 translation-profile incoming 110

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Voice Translation Rule

2008-05-18 Thread WorkerBee
What is the difference between the following?
Can I say that 'translate' command only strictly applied to voice-port
inbound only?
Whereas translation-profile is more flexible (inbound/outbound)?

In the example below, is there a priority of which command to invoke?

translation-rule 110
 Rule 0 ^222 21

translation-rule 1
 Rule 0 ^222 21

voice-port 0/2/0:23
 translation-profile incoming 110
 translate called 1

= CCO ==

translation-profile (voice-port)
 - Use the translation-profile command to assign a predefined
translation profile to a voice port.

translate (voice-port)
 - To apply a translation rule to manipulate dialed digits on an
inbound POTS call leg, use the translate command in voice-port
   configuration mode.

mgcpapp to the port then after srst bind-l3 command would be removed.

Try it

Dial-peer voice 100 pots

Thanks. This is the link that i used. As you can see from my config I have
  param aa-hunt4 4001

so in theory when I press 1 i should forward to the hunt list 4200. This
doesnt happen. I have reloaded the router. I must be missing something. I

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Microflow on ESW module

2008-05-18 Thread Onur Tufekci
Hello again,

Is there any way to set up microflow on the ESW module? Looks like there is
limitation for FastEthernet ports that it has to min 1mgbps or for gig port
it has to be 5mgbps. In the documentation they also mention that under
policy map if you do not specify "policer agregate" then this becomes
microflow. We can not use policer aggreate on the switch module "it is not
available" or we can not police less then 50 and assign policy map to
individual FastEth ports. However, we can apply the policy-map that is
policing for less then 50 bps and apply this to VLAN interface then this
becomes microflow?? If so should this be the way for 3550 switch? I am
guessing that we just create policing under policy map for Int Vlan and that
will be microflow. But on the 3550 we can also create policing under 50
bps and assign this to individual FastEther ports.

I am really confused and cisco documentations are not really clear about how
to handle this. I read al least 4 different documents that I can send the
links for but no luck.

Any help will be seriously appreciated,

Regards,

Onur.

Mike,
Possibly an easy question but how do you reload the
scripts? I usually reboot but that wastes time.
Thanks.

I had this same problem.

The parameter "param aa-huntX" correlates to the
option in the script, example:

param aa-hunt1 1001 --- means option 1 goes to
hunt group 1001
param aa-hunt2 2001 --- means option 2 goes to
hunt group 2001

and so on.

Remember to reload the scripts after you make a
change.

  Hi

Below is my configuration for BACD. I have the
call coming in and is answered. The welcome message
is played. Then the option menu is played which asks
for sales press 1, customer service press 2 , dial
by extension press 3 or operator press 0.

The dial by extension works and I can see that in
the config. When I press 1 or 2 it says

You have entered an incorrect option.

When I press 0 i get taken to the hunt group 1 .

Any ideas how to get the option 1 and 2 working as
expexted.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM Selection

2008-05-18 Thread Gregory Jost (grjost)
I'm sorry, I misinformed you. You can't use wildcards and the CTI RP isn't
arbitrary (e.g. TCD isn't really redirecting to CTI RP). I had this working on
4.2 in my customer's environment, but hadn't tried it on 4.1 until now.

Here's my lab config:

1. Create CTI RP *1003 with VM mask and CFA to VM.

2. Create PP 71003 and add *1003 as Always Route Member.

3. Associate PP and CTI RP to AC user.

4. Set Keep Original Called Party If Forwarded=False

5. Ensure Reset Original Called Party on Redirect=True
(default).

6. Restart TCD service.

Enjoy!

Did you rsetart TCD service? What's happening? If you still can't get it to
work, make the PP explicit (e.g. 71001). When it overwrites the RDNIS, it may
us the PP instead of the called party. Also, the pattern of the CTI RP is
arbitrary, as the RDNIS is retained from the PP.

Thanks Gregory,

Just to make sure I understood. The procedure you´re proposing is the following:

1 - Create a CTI_RP "#" ForwardAll to the Unity, and with a "VM Profile"
with mask ""

2 - Create a Attendant Console Pilot Point "7"

3 - To that Pilot Point assign the member "#" (The CTI_RP)

4 - Create the User "ac" with associated devices i)the Pilot Point and ii)the
CTI_RP

5 - In the TCD Service Parameters, modify the "Keep Original Called Party If
Forwarded " to FALSE. (By Default it is TRUE)

6 - Manually "CallForwardAll" the Phone to for example the number 71001 (Then
When I call the phone , the VM 1001 should answer)

Well, I am trying to make work this solution, but till this moment doesnt work
for me.

Am I missing something ?

Use AC PP/Hunt Group containing CTI RP w/CFA to VM and change the
following TCD service parameter:

Keep Original Called Party If Forwarded :

This parameter determines whether the directory number (DN) of the
original called party gets reset to the redirected number if the call is
forwarded to the Pilot Point. Valid values specify True (do not reset
the original called party) or False (reset the original called party
during forwarding).
This is a required field.
Default: true.

Mark,
I see your lets say Super-Hint is valid, but you mentioned that there
are multiple ways to achieve the same. I would like to find one where
just CCM and UNITY be involved, avoiding to use IPCC Scripting because
is too time consuming to be applied in the Exam, besides it would be
dependant of the IPCC be working correctly (I have the impression most
of the people dont make work the IPCC in their first attempts)

thankful of your wise guidance.

Foward the call to 7 where is the other VM Box you want it to
hit (for this example maybe 2001).
7 (literally just 7) is the trigger for a UCCX application
that preserves whatever '' was in a variable (in this case 2001).
Then a new number is formed to make it like "#" + "-variable" so
the new number is "#2001".
Then forward #2001 back to the UCM where it matches a CTI RP that is
"#" and FwdsAll to VM with a New VMProfile that has only the mask
(so it strips the #) - then it forwards properly into the correct
Subscriber box.

Sorry - got to typing and didn't really give a hint - gave the answer
- sometimes I get carried away in thinking up a way to solve it that I
forgo the fishing lesson for the fish :)
Ah well - next time perhaps.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] PSTN TOH required for ex21.23

2008-05-18 Thread Juan
hi, with respect to question 21.23 I'm a bit confused:
from the proctor guide: "all devices will get their MRGL from the Device
Pool with the exception of the gateways which have a MRGL assigned at the
Device level"

To make sure the PSTN callers receive TOH, it's also necessary to create new
device pools (without MRGL for example) which will be assigned to the
gateways, right? Or is there something I am missing from the proposed
solution in the proctor guide?

cheers,
Juan

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Another QoS question

2008-05-18 Thread Onur Tufekci
Hello Everyone,

I know that access-groups can be applied to either directions on a
interface.

We create access-lists and associate them with the service policies. After
that we apply the service policy to an interface. Does this work the same
way as access-groups? If so one of the ACL entry will not work depending on
the direction we apply the service policy to.

class-map sig
match access-group 100

policy-map sig
class sig
set ip dscp af31

int range fast 0/23 - 24--> interface for phone so
callmanager should be destination also there is signaling coming from
CallManager!!
service-policy *input* sig

*access-list 100 permit tcp any range 2000 2002 any --> CallManager
Source port*

*access-list 100 permit tcp any any range 2000 2002 --> CallManager
Destination port*

Is that correct?

Cheers,

Onur.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] prioritize data moving from inside to outside interface on a pix for a single host

2008-05-18 Thread Kapil Jain
Hi,

My query is I want to prioritize data moving from inside to outside interface
on a pix for a single host that resides on internet. I have applied an access
list for the same and used MPF as below

Access-list http_traffic extended permit tcp any host 66.23.45.23

hostname(config)# Class-map http

hostname(config−cmap)# Match access-list http_traffic

hostname(config−cmap)# Policy-map http

hostname(config−pmap)# Class http

hostname(config−pmap)# Priority

hostname(config−pmap−c)#service−policy http interface outside

hostname(config)#priority−queue outside

hostname(config−priority−queue)#queue−limit 2048

hostname(config−priority−queue)#tx−ring−limit 256

I have checked that the hit count on the ACL is 0 and also when checked doing
show priority-queue statistics, the transmit in LLQ is 0

Can you pls advise, is there any piece of config that is missing

Regards,

Kapil
