Thanks for you response. Was that a typo? You mean it doesn't tie in to any DSP resources? In reading through the lab, it seems to me that it is best to go through and do all the drawings, dial plan design, etc. at the beginning. This means you might be spending a bit more time on it, but in my experience, an hour spent planning generally saves two or more. I'd be interested to know if other folks are doing their dial plan table at the same time they do their drawing of the network, or what. Cliff

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Time management strategies
I'm curious about how others are planning their time for the labs. In reading through the lab, it seems to me that it is best to go through and do all the drawings, dial plan design, etc. at the beginning. This means you might be spending a bit more time on it, but in my experience, an hour spent planning generally saves two or more. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] 2 Dial plan questions
Two questions about dial plan. In the V3 Lab 1 dial plan explanations, the need is discussed for the following patterns to support international dialing out of HQ and BR1. 9.011! 9.011!# If the CCM parameter to strip the # from Called Party Number is set to true (the default), why is the second pattern necessary? Second question: Incoming call from GK to HQ that is TEHO from BR2. The incoming string would be something like: 1#12125551212 The explanation discusses using a translation pattern to strip the 1#, but it occurs to me that you could just have 1#.12125551212 on a route pattern and strip pre dot. Is there something wrong, more time consuming, or something else with this approach? Cliff

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] TFTP Server best practices
It should be spelled out, but if it isn't, generally best practice is Publisher runs TFTP server.
