RE: CF Studio like free editor?

I would have to say that CF Studio is more 'beefed up' than Homesite+, as
HS+ has some stuff removed post Adobe case.

Don't forget that if you upgrade to Studio MX (like more than 250,000 others
have already done according to MM - pretty good) HomeSite+ is included free.
It' basically a beefed up Studio/HomeSite 5 with MX support thrown in.

I still think I prefer Studio though after having used it daily for years
but HomeSite+ is still quite good.

Probably, I'm going to buy a copy of HomeSite soon
(for lack of alternatives), (HomeSite eval has
expired), but before that, I'd like to try some CF
Studio like free editor naturally without CF end TAG
insertion? Does any one know anything like that
exist?  Thanks.

cfupdate is passing the entire value form.empid_muster, not one value at

Nope, both these machines are pukka. The only application they BSOD with
is JEdit. Everytime.

Wow, Blue Screen on 2K and NT? That sounds like a problem bigger than
Jedit/Java.

I'm running it on Windows XP and Windows 2K with JSDK 1.4.1 and have no
issues with crashing on exit. There are some problems on MacOSX with JDK
1.4.x but that's because Apple hasn't finished up their Java 1.4.x
implementation - still a preview release. Haven't put 1.4.x on Linux
yet, but it's running fine for me under Windows.

I have found this to be very unstable with JRE 1.4.1. It crashes both
Windows XP and 2000 when you exit the application.

Probably, I'm going to buy a copy of HomeSite soon
(for lack of alternatives), (HomeSite eval has
expired), but before that, I'd like to try some CF
Studio like free editor naturally without CF end TAG
insertion? Does any one know anything like that
exist?  Thanks.

Next time the user logs in I check that field. If its equal to "Yes" use whats in the

GetQueuedCompletionStatus error

2002-11-18 Thread John Lucas
Good Morning,

Our site was generating server too busy to fulfill request errors this
morning.

Upon checking our server.log file which was 154 MB from this mornings
entries, I found the following pairs of errors occurring every second
from 06:52:42 to 09:56:45 EST.

"Unexpected error returned from GetQueuedCompletionStatus"
"Windows NT error number 6 occurred"

Occasionally, there was a "Unexpected error returned from
AssociateDeviceWithCompletionPort" error thrown in.

All of these errors occur on the same thread number. However, the only
preceding error on this thread occurred at 04:44:15 when Linkwalker
visited the site and generated a variable was missing error in the
application.log file.

Our server config is

Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3
Coldfusion Professional 5
1 GHZ Processor 1 GB RAM

Limit simultaneous requests to 5
Restart at 3 unresponsive requests
Timeout requests after 75 seconds
Restart when requests terminate abnormally checked

Any ideas on where to start on these errors or what they mean?

Thanks,
John

Well - it looks like you're trying to pass a list into a numeric column.

My guess is that you've got several form fields named the same - so that
the browser is sending one name as a list of all the values rather than

Thanks to all who've responded to my request for help with running cfexecute under
Unix (CF 4.5 SP2, Solaris 8).

Looks like it's a CF bug, as it works okay in CF 5 but not 4.5.

One more reason to get us upgraded!

RE: CF SQL problem

2002-11-18 Thread Janine Jakim
Test the page-
comment out the loop/query and put a
#ListLen(Form.EmpID_Muster)#--#empID_muster#,
#emp_status#
This will show you how it's trying to update the database- and Jim is
probably right that it's trying to do something like
EmpID/Emp_Status
123/1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1
Instead of what you want, which is
123/1
124/1
193/1
203/1
blah/blah/blah/blah
Maybe you should use a different field to use with listlen?? I guess I just
neveruse an autonumber type id with my loops.

How to get exact template requested

2002-11-18 Thread Jochem van Dieten
IIS 5, CF MX.

I need to find out the exact template as requested by the browser. That
means without any default documents that the webserver might or might
not add. I.e., if the requested URL by the browser is:
GET /admin/ HTTP/1.1
I need to get /admin/, even when the webserver adds a default document
and passes the request on as /admin/index.cfm. I have tried CGI
variables but they all have the default document. GetHTTPRequestData()
apparently does not give access to all the request headers, because the
part regarding the URI is omitted even though I see it in the network
sniffer.

Any suggestions?

Jochem

I have found this to be very unstable with JRE 1.4.1. It crashes both
Windows XP and 2000 when you exit the application.

Sounds like a pickle... The only thing that springs to my mind is javascript
location.href -- which iirc will give you the untampered path without the
default document... Unfortunately you have to go to the client to get it,
which I suspect is going to make the point moot for whatever it is you're
working on.

CF Studio like free editor?

2002-11-18 Thread Judith Dinowitz
Hi. This thread is really dealing with editing software, and as such probably belongs
more on the DWMX list or the CF-OT list. :) But since you guys are being so good to
each other here, and it's still only about 14 posts long, this is just a friendly
suggestion from the Mistress of the House.

Anyone seen this strange 'Authorization error' message before?

2002-11-18 Thread David Laing
Hi All.

We have just moved a site of ours to a new hosting provider, and several
pages have begun to through strange errors:

ie: one page throws:
---
Error Diagnostic Information

CFAssociate

Authorization error - user not authorized.

--
and another throws
---

Error Diagnostic Information

CFSchedule

Authorization error - user not authorized.

-

These pages worked fine up until before the site was moved to the new
server, and don't do any thing more complicated than handle a form post
or schedule a new task (the site doesn't use Advanced Security or
anything like that)

Has anyone seen these errors before, or know what causes them? (And of
course how to make them go away :)

Thanks

Yea, I'm running the last final release on Win2K Pro & Server with JRE 1.4.1

yet to see a really clean Java UI for anything really so that's just sort of
par for the course...

That won't do for this application :-(

The authenticating server must assure that the resource designated by
the "uri" directive is the same as the resource specified in the
Request-Line; if they are not, the server SHOULD return a 400 Bad
Request error.
 RFC 2617, HTTP Authentication

Getting at what is designated in the "uri" directive is easy, but I need
server-side access to what is in the Request-Line.

Sean..Thanks for trying to find some doc.

It would be nice, if MM can put some documentation out there relating to..

1. Enabling "HOTLOAD" for Java Objects/classes/Java Beans when developing in
JSP or using CFObject.
2. What JVM does CFMX use when run under IBM WebSphere?
3. Any possibilities of using other(IBM/ORACLE/BEA) JVM's?

Thanks

Date time Question (CF and SQL)

2002-11-18 Thread Ciliotta, Mario
Hi All,

I have a questions, I am using Sql Server 7.0 and I have field called
Event_Start_DateTime and I would like my query to be able to return to me two fields
the date and the time

ie

The field contains:  12/12/2002 7:30:00AM

and I would like my query to return:

Dec 12  (Start Date)
7:30 PM (Start Time)

I know how to do it in CF, but I have many records returned and I would prefer to have
my database do some of the work, instead of my cuff server doing all the work.

I believe that there are CAST and CONVERT functions but I cannot get it to work.

Thanks

Mario

RE: CF Studio like free editor and CFGRAPH with CF50

2002-11-18 Thread Li Chunshen \(Don\)
Thanks, Robertson-Ravo and Josh. I'll skip the editor
thing for now.

An immediate, pressing problem:
Cfgraph does not display graph
(it seems jrun configuration and IIS configuration
mismatch something). Here is the configuration scoop.
* CF50
* Windows XP Pro
* IIS 5.1
 JRunScripts --> using CF5.0 jrun (I had CFMX)
* JRun server = ColdFusion Management Repository
Server (jrun-cfam-config file indicated so)
* CFgraph fileFormat = jpg

Error:
graph/image not found(or not generated)
image property revealed
(http://127.0.0.1:8723/CFGraphingPage.cfm?Action=GetGraph&GraphFile=/cfgraphs/bar.swt&Key=-...
well, 1) couldn't find "CFGraphingPage.cfm" anywhere?
is it generated on demand? 2) current directory URL
prefix is http://127.0.0.1:8723/thisDir,
so, even if CFGraphingPage.cfm is generated on demand,
should it be located at /[current
directory]/CFGraphingPage.cfm?

As for cfgraphs/bar.swt, it's under [CF_ROOT_DIR]

I've looked at CF admin, can't tell, what would be a
worthy try?

Thanks.

Also, what browsers are you testing this in, and is it failing in all of

In the make file names unique in MX is there a way to change the naming convention so
it does not just add a number to the end of the file name. (i.e. pic1.jpg, pic11.jpg,
etc.)

Thanks.

Here is one way of doing this You substitute GetDate() with your dates.

select Cast(left(DateName(mm,GetDate()),3) as varchar(3))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(dd,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(,GetDate()) as varchar(4)) as currDate,
   Cast(DatePart(hh,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(mi,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(ss,GetDate()) as varchar(2)) as currTime

Forms *sometimes* not holding info in MX

2002-11-18 Thread E. Keith Dodd
(my first posting ever on CFTalk)

Using a traditional html form for several uses, such as guest book. After
submitting to a processing page, do some error handling, noting any missing
or conflicting data, user to go back and fix/complete form. The usual
process.

Locally, on singleIP development server (MX), all is fine; go back and form
fields hold any existing data the way they should.

On remote, shared MX server, however, have mixed results. In a couple places
this works just as expected. In most, however, when go back to form (back
button), all earlier data is gone. (Note: If try to go forward then to the
error handling message, get notice that page has expired--that doesn't
happen in situations where form behaves properly.)
Behavior seems to be browser independent (IE 6 and Netscape 6).

Tried putting the identical templates on two different mx sites in a couple
of places (sites are one same server)

(Does not work means, form data missing when go back using back button and
shows page has expired if try then to go forward)

1. On one site, form does NOT work as expected regardless of directory
2. On another site, if at root level (www.abc.com/testform.cfm), it does NOT
work;
3. however at same site, if in a sub directory
(www.aabc.com/mydirectory/testform.com), it does work as expected.
4. As a control, used same templates at root level and subdirectly on a CF5
machine, and all works fine.

As stated, all works fine locally, but problems on the remote, shared
server. CF guy at hosting service can't see what could be causing this
behavior.

I don't have the foggiest idea of where to even begin looking to solve this.
And it seems more likely that it has something to do with remote server or
mapping than my code.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Searched the archives, but couldn't find anything about this.
(Search wasn't in vain, however. From a Ray Camden response, found why
serializing a form, via WDDX, was giving me only a random 10 fields rather
than all. Ray's response was a known MX bug, and to work around duplicate
the form first. THANKS Ray!)

The problem might be having a function (done()) with the same name as a form
field (your hidden field).

not 100% sure that's it...but it's worth eliminating as a possibility :)

RE: Multiple Form Submitters?

2002-11-18 Thread Ben Doom
Hmm. Is it throwing an error, or just not working?

You might need to refer to the form by
document.forms[0].
rather than
document.formname.

I seem to recall having some trouble out of IE with DOM names. :-(

Very odd. Sounds like a configuration problem with Apache because we
have CGIs working just fine here alongside CFMX. Send me your

Don't rely on the browser to hold form values. Rather, redisplay the form with the

Mario..
Here is one way of doing this You substitute GetDate() with your dates.

select Cast(left(DateName(mm,GetDate()),3) as varchar(3))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(dd,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(,GetDate()) as varchar(4)) as currDate,
   Cast(DatePart(hh,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(mi,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(ss,GetDate()) as varchar(2)) as currTime

Forms *sometimes* not holding info in MX

2002-11-18 Thread Keith Dodd
You mean pack up or hidden fields all the fields and have user click a back link
rather than the back button, then repopulate the form? Not sure I understand.

Seems strange that until trying the form on MX, never in dozens of such forms have had
this problem. And the existance of problem seems to vary with the site/directory. And
all works fine on CF5 site.

OT: updateing a decimal field in an Access DB...

2002-11-18 Thread Yager, Brian T Contractor/Sverdrup
I am having problems updatin a field in my database. The field is a number,
with field size = Decimal, Format = General Number, and long enough to store my
number. Here is my code that isn't working.

update tax_tbl set tax_amount = .08 where tax_key = 1;

It is putting a -1 as the value. If I change the tax_amount = 0, then it puts 0
in as the value. Can anyone help?

I'm running it on Windows XP and Windows 2K with JSDK 1.4.1 and have no
issues with crashing on exit. There are some problems on MacOSX with JDK
1.4.x but that's because Apple hasn't finished up their Java 1.4.x
implementation - still a preview release. Haven't put 1.4.x on Linux
yet, but it's running fine for me under Windows.

RE: How to get exact template requested

2002-11-18 Thread Samuel Neff
Since the web server maps a request-line to a template file name, it may
be that the only way to get this info is at the web server
level--perhaps with an ISAPI filter for IIS or mod for apache. If this
is feasible, you may be able to add a new custom CGI variable with this
info which is then easily accessible from CF/Java.

What do people use to disassemble Java Class files?

This is legitimate!

I am trying to figure out what functions exist in a Java applet, so I

I am on Mac OS X, so 'Nix or Java based tools would be preferred.

Re: sql oddity (repost)

There's a great little UDF on cflib.org called DeMoronize that should help
you out with this:
http://www.cflib.org/udf.cfm?ID=725

I don't know how to grab the infected fields through SQL, but I'd just write
a couple queries to accomplish the same thing: grab all records, loop
through them, run the UDF on the particular columns and then update the
fields.

I also added this to the top to pick up some of the funky A's:

// remove funky A's
Text = Replace(Text, "Ã", "", "All");
Text = Replace(Text, "Â", "", "All");

And the last ReReplace has an extra double quote in it, so ReReplace(Text,
""(^;)", ""\1", "All"); should be ReReplace(Text, "(^;)", ""\1",
"All");.

SOT: PDF files with MX on the fly

I just finished a custom tag this weekend called cfx_treebeard. It can do
xslt transformations AND can translated FO documents into PDF. In other
words if you have the urge to do

XML + FO -> PDF

on the fly you can with this tag. It is of course free and open source. It
usage looks like:

you can get the tag at http://treebeard.sourceforge.net/cfx_treebeard.php

RE: DreamweaverMX Bug?

2002-11-18 Thread grant
Thanks Sam - I indeed did verify that all the tags were nested properly. The
way I found the bug was actually saving the working template (which I
initially wrote in CF Studio v5) in DreamweaverMX, refreshing in my browser
and noting the ensuing page error. Opening the page in CFStudio, I quickly
saw what Dreamweaver did to mess up my code. It took me saving it in CFStudio
again to fix it (although I am sure notepad would have worked equally well).
If I opened it in DreamweaverMX, made NO changes, then saved, it messed up the
code again.

I tell you what, this is a really disconcerting problem and one that
Macromedia had best look into FAST if they expect any ColdFusion developers to
take a serious look at DreamweaverMX. I mean what the heck is going on that
the software is MOVING my lines of code around in my template on save??

I have reported this as a bug to Macromedia.

Re: CFMX & Classes

2002-11-18 Thread ksuh
If you want to use the hotspot server jvm, point cfmx to the server jvm.dll, which is
in the jre\bin\server directory of your installation (at least for 1.4.0_01 sdk). I
think you have to install the SDK, not the RE, to get the server hotspot.

Oh yeah, and unlike the build in cf xslt stuff and CF_XSLT you *can* pass
params to the style sheets.

I just finished a custom tag this weekend called cfx_treebeard. It can do
xslt transformations AND can translated FO documents into PDF. In other
words if you have the urge to do

XML + FO -> PDF

on the fly you can with this tag. It is of course free and open source. It
usage looks like:

you can get the tag at http://treebeard.sourceforge.net/cfx_treebeard.php

Have fun

RE: DreamweaverMX Bug?

Linux updater crash & burn

2002-11-18 Thread Jim Campbell
Hi all -

Trying to run the CFMX updater on a Linux installation - this is a new
install of MX, and running the updater, it dies with this error message:

--

# ./cfmx_updater_linux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the JRE from the installer archive...
Unpacking the JRE...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...

Launching installer...

Error: can't find libjava.so.

--

Now libjava.so is most certainly there, it's exactly where the MX install
put it: /opt/coldfusionmx/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so

A reinstallation didn't help, so I'm stumped. Should I install the most
up-to-date JRE from Sun? Has anyone else had anything remotely like this
show up? Does the installer have a conf file anywhere? Why does
"monosyllabic" have 5 syllables?

Thanks,

- Jim

RE: DreamweaverMX Bug?

2002-11-18 Thread Samuel Neff
My experience was similar. The most reproducible error I ran into was
when we have JavaScript files saved with a cfm extension. Perfectly
valid thing to do but Dreamweaver didn't like it and really messed up
our code very time we saved a file. The problem occurred only when
there was absolutely no CFM code in the template. If we added some CFM
code to it, then Dreamweaver stopped messing it up.

There are a few known bugs that cause issues like this (although I'm not
aware of the specific scenario you explained). Yes, they are very
disconcerting. In my opinion, the mere fact that Dreamweaver mangles
code internally (by design, not by error) and then expects to re-output
the correct code in all cases when you save is far fetched.

I saw Christine responded here already so MM is aware of your concern,
but I would still suggest making an official bug report through the wish
form.  http://www.macromedia.com/support/email/wishform/?6213=6

Re: CFMX & Classes

Well, I tried my own advice out, and CFMX complains that the directory must have a bin
dir in it, which means you can't choose the server jvm explicitly. Perhaps MM should
fix this.

When you view the page, look at the cert name, it is showing up as
localhost.localdomain. It should read www.mycustomer.com
I have personally worked with Geotrust's tech support team and they are

exactly how to fix it. Matt Conway is who I have worked with and he is very

This sounds like an IIS configuration problem, rather than anything to do
with CF. What happens if you request an HTML page in the same directory via
HTTPS? (for example, https://www.mycustomer.com/mytestfile.html)

Custom tag crashes CF Server? Possible? Remedy?

2002-11-18 Thread Michael Kear
I am using Nate Weiss's CSVtoQuery custom tag to convert 17 .csv files to
queries to be inserted in a database every morning at 7am. Our information
partner FTPs the files into our server every morning, and I then read them
into CF using the tag, then insert them into the MSSql7 database.

I set it up after testing on my staging server for a week or so, and loaded
the tag into the production server two weeks ago. After I used the CF
administrator to register the tag, it worked as advertised and I was quite
happy with it. Until last Friday.

At 3am Friday, our Sysadmin rebooted the server (for a reason totally
unrelated to CF) and immediately the CF server refused to work, and kept
showing a NT password challenge dialog box every time anyone tried to use a
cfm page. When we renamed the csvtoquery.dll to something else, thereby
breaking the custom tag, the CF Server booted up ok again and is now working
fine (with the exception of this application of course)

Do you know of any problem with this query that might cause this behaviour?
And following from that, what we can do to fix it?

Our environment is:

NT4 SP6
CF5.0
SQLServer7

The problem is not apparently the actual execution of the tag, because the
NTserver rebooted at 3am, and the tag is only used in a scheduled task set
to run every morning at 7am.The CF Server stopped working immediately
the NTserver booted up.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mike Kear

RE: Date time Question (CF and SQL)

2002-11-18 Thread Ciliotta, Mario
Joe,

I tried the query and it worked but I have two quick questions:

1) is there anyway to get the time to show as 15:00 instead of 15:0
2) is there a way to get the AM/PM to Show

Sorry for the questions, but I have tried and failed to get it.

Here is my code:

SELECT Cast(LEFT(DateName(mm, Event_Start_Date), 3)
AS varchar(3)) + ' ' + Cast(DatePart(dd, Event_Start_Date)
AS varchar(2)) AS currDate, Cast(DatePart(hh,
Event_Start_Date) AS varchar(2)) + ':' + Cast(DatePart(mi,
Event_Start_Date) AS varchar(2)) AS currTime
FROM dbo.tbl_Diversity_Events

Thanks again,

Mario..
Here is one way of doing this You substitute GetDate() with your dates.

select Cast(left(DateName(mm,GetDate()),3) as varchar(3))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(dd,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+' '+
   Cast(DatePart(,GetDate()) as varchar(4)) as currDate,
   Cast(DatePart(hh,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(mi,GetDate()) as varchar(2))+':'+
   Cast(DatePart(ss,GetDate()) as varchar(2)) as currTime

Lee:

The address bar is 'readonly'...the only way to replace a value in there
would be to actually load a new page.

This is actually a good thing...otherwise people could put up objectionable
content and have the address bar show http://www.microsoft.com (ok, ok, bad
example...but you get the idea) :)

RE: [OT] Zip Code Lookup

2002-11-18 Thread jon roig
If you're using the JCSM database, here's a simple query to pull out all the
zips within #radius# number of miles.

SELECT lat, lon, Zip, LastLineCity, State
FROM jcszip
WHERE Zip = '#zip#'

SELECT jcszip.Zip,
jcszip.LastLineCity,
jcszip.State,
jcszip.Lat,
jcszip.Lon
FROM jcszip
WHERE (((jcszip.lat)>= (#geoCode.Lat# - (#Radius# * 0.0005))
 And (jcszip.lat)<= (#geoCode.Lat# + (#Radius# * 0.0005))
) AND ((jcszip.lon)>= (#geoCode.Lon# - (#Radius# * 0.0005))
 And (jcszip.lon)<= (#geoCode.Lon# + (#Radius# * 0.0005))
))
ORDER BY jcszip.Zip

We purchased this fairly recently and we love it.

Strategy and options depends quite a bit on the usage pattern and the
financial room. I will just presume it is for nearest outlet matching
for now.

If it is for the occasional lookup, I am sure there are webservices
where you can pay per hit. Easy and all the database maintenance is done
for you by the remote partner. But it might be a bit clumsy if you get
back a long list of ZIP codes that you then have to match against your
own database of outlets. And if you get a lot of hits, paying per hit
might not be the best model.

Another option would be to buy a ZIP database with subscriptions for
updates and a bunch of tags for running queries on them. But again, it
might be a bit clumsy if you want to match those results with another
database of outlets.

The last option is to buy the ZIP database and built your own search
system for it. It really isn't that hard to make the database do
distance calculations based on lat/lon pairs, and unless you have a very
special set of datapoints using a smart algorithm and some indexing will
make it very fast, especially since you can do the outlet matching in
the database as well.

I would probably go for option 3, unless there is a business reason for
doing number 1. Let me know if you want some code for option 3.

You can't change the address bar with Javascript. The closest thing I can
come up with (if you're worried about URL variables being exposed) is not to
use them, or run your web app in a Javascript-created window without an

Totally Freaked Out Browser Issues

2002-11-18 Thread Joshua Miller
Ok, this is driving me nuts.

Macintosh IE 5.2: Won't display CFGRAPH data for about 5 minutes, then
it finally displays ... but literally 5+ minutes later.
Macintosh Netscape 7.2: Displays "Document Contains No Data" popup.

Windows IE 6: Displays CFGRAPH data.
Windows Netscape 7.2: Displays "Document Contains No Data" popup.

When I view the exact same application on my local server, with all
variations above, the application works. When I go to the actual domain
and access the application, I get the above results.

Does anyone have any idea why Netscape would be returning "Document
Contains No Data" when the same application works fine under IE ??? I've
cleared the cache and that's not it ... it's just breaking with no
results and no explanation.

What I'm doing is testing to see if a SESSION variable is defined, if
it's not, then I'm using JavaScript to redirect the browser to another
page to login. Once logged in, I'm using JavaScript to forward the user
to the application. Once the user hits the application there's a CFGRAPH
displayed on a "dashboard". It only works for Windows IE 6 which is odd
because I built the whole #@* &$ thing on a Macintosh
using IE and Mozilla to test. Now when I move it "live" it breaks on Mac
and Netscape.

Is there a better way to direct users around than with JavaScript
redirects? I tried METAs and they don't work ... same results.

Anyone have any clues?

Sounds like a bug. DMX is looking for CF code and not finding it. I bet we
didn't test for that. I am passing it to the QA team.

DMX does not mangle code anytime by design, it is an error in every case.
CL is working on it and passing some things to me. I try to look at this
list when I can, but the signal to noise ration on DMX issues is high (lots
of other stuff to talk about)

Yes Douglas, sounded like it to me too. We spent ages checking and
rechecking all the permissions of anywhere the CFServer went, and nothing
had changed. When we renamed the csvtoquery.dll file to something else,
the CF Server worked ok again. (except for the app that uses the custom tag
of course).

That was without changing any permissions though. Does that tell us
there is a permissions problem or not?

Here is a better solution but not very flexible though.. i think this is what

RE: Quick "change address bar value" script anyone?

2002-11-18 Thread Lee Fuller
Yeah, I thought that may be the answer. Hence nothing about it readily
available anywhere that I could find.

And it's really not for that.. It's for hiding bad pages when a 404
happens. But that's ok. It wasn't critical. Just thought someone
might have the answer.

Thanks!

Lee

| You can't change the address bar with Javascript. The
| closest thing I can come up with (if you're worried about URL
| variables being exposed) is not to use them, or run your web
| app in a Javascript-created window without an address bar.
