Your flash remoting entry should look like this: servlet servlet-nameFlashGateway/servlet-name display-nameFlash Gateway/display-name descriptionAllows flash to connect to CFML and CFC templates./description servlet-classflashgateway.controller.GatewayServlet/servlet-class load-on-startup1/load-on-startup init-param param-nameDISABLE_CFWS_ADAPTERS/param-name param-valuefalse/param-value descriptionWhen set to true, this setting disables the ColdFusion WebServices Adapters in the gateway./description /init-param /servlet If you're running updater 3, just replace your FlashGateway servlet with the code above. Let me explain better: I have 2 servers. One with CFMX and win2k and other CFMX and winxp (both in english). Both are running the same .cfm code (setLocale(Portuguese(Brazilian)). Both have the language in Regional Options set to ENGLISH(United States), so the #DecimalFormat(13.43)# returns 13.43, even thought the locale in cf is portuguese. note: If i change the language in Regional Options in ctrl panel, #DecimalFormat(13.43)# is 13,43 (note the comma) The problem with the COM object is that in one of the computers, 13.43 is 30 and 13,43 is 30 (it must be stripping the decimal point or count it as thousand separator) and on the other, the oposite occurs. Both have the same code, the same COM object, the same language (i've double checked all the currencies, decimal definitions and so) in ctrl panel... BUT, i had to write diferent code to use this COM with CFMX. example of the code i had to wrote: (the parameter passed to the COM must not be greater than 30, or it returns the error code 2) cfset variable = #attributes.variable# cfobject name=bla action=create cfset testvar = bla.Function(#NUMBERFormat(variable,'9.99'#) cfif testvar EQ 2 cfset testvar = bla.Function(#LSnumberFormat(variable,'999.99'#) (note the LS) /cfif cfswitch expression=#testvar cfcase value = 0 code /cfcase cfcase value= 1,2 code /cfcase /cfswitch If you pass value 13.56 to the variable, it tries both 13.56 and 13,56. I had to make that modification in order to run the same code on both servers.. and i has not having to do this with cf5... As i say before, MEGA WIERD. I think MM does not like brazilians as Allaire does =) anyway, CARNAVAL is aproaching and i will soon forget about it LOL =) Leonardo Crespo Ps: CFMX has also a bug in LsCurrencyFormat when locale is set to portuguese. 13.50 should be R$ 13,50 and CFMX outputs as R$ 13,5 . I had to get a UDF to correct this in cflib.org... If there are any1 having this problem, the UDF is called BrCurrencyFormat (www.cflib.org). - Original Message - From: Collin Tobin To: CF-Talk Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 7:10 PM Subject: RE: Urgent problem with COM and CFMX Leonardo- I just want to be clear on this: Aren't Brazilian decimal points commas? RE: cfchart labelformat=date
Robert- I'll take a look at your issue and get back to you... I have seen numerous responses on just about every post but mine, which I have posted twice. Did I violate a protocol? Or is this just an unsolvable issue? I have been beating my head against the wall on this issue for 2 weeks. Should I abandon ship and look for another way of doing this? OR have I found a bug? Some feedback would be helpful. Thank you, Robert -- Original Message -- From: Robert Polickoski [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 12:28:26 +0600 Hello all, I am running CFMX on WindowsXP Pro using the CF built in web server. I have a problem with label formatting in a chart. I am trying to produce a Gantt Chart. I want my Y axis labels to be dates within a specified range. I have set them to the range and the labelformat attribute to date, but all the labels show up as 12/31/69. I have tried adding an offset thinking it was an epoch date issue without any difference in result. When I switch the labelformat to number, the values are valid date serial values. How do I get dates to show up as Y Axis labels? The pertinent portion of the code follows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. cfset StartDate = CreateDate(2002, 1, 1) cfset EndDate = CreateDate(2002, 12, 31) cfset NoWeeks = DateDiff(w, StartDate, EndDate) cfchart format=flash scalefrom=#StartDate# scaleto=#EndDate# gridlines=#NoWeeks + 1# seriesplacement=stacked showxgridlines=no showygridlines=yes showborder=yes fontbold=no fontitalic=no labelformat=number yaxistitle=Duration show3d=no rotated=yes sortxaxis=no showlegend=no showmarkers=yes chartheight=400 chartwidth=1400 url=javascript:showMilestoneChart('$ITEMLABEL$') -- Respectfully, Robert J. RE: simple CF and Flash example
Chad- A *real* quick example. If you're not running off port 8500, you'll have to change that in the FLA. Extract the contents into {webroot}/quick_test/ Hope this helps. Does anyone have a super simple example of taking a CFQUERY and passing the data to a flash program for display? We just want to do basically a CFOUTPUT inside of flash. Some of macromedia's examples are really confusing. __ Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/cf-talk@houseoffusion.com/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
RE: Cfc's and undefined variable - why does one work, but not the other
Looks like you've reversed your query name in your cfresult... Now, one of the methods works fine (category)...one does not (getAll)... Here is the cfc code (inventory.cfc) - cfcomponent hint=Inventory functionality !--- list all categories --- cffunction name=Category hint=Get list of categories cfquery name=getCat datasource=coldfusionwebscom SELECT * FROM Category /cfquery cfreturn getCat /cffunction !--- get all in inventory table --- cffunction name=getAll access=remote Cfquery name=allInv datasource=coldfusionwebscom SELECT * FROM Inventory /CFQUERY cfreturn invAll /cffunction /cfcomponent -- Here are the calls to the methods Get the cateogries (category):brbrbr cfinvoke component=Inventory method=Category returnvariable=cat cfdump var= #cat# get all inventory (getall):br brbr cfinvoke component=Inventory method=getAll returnvariable=InvResult cfdump var= #InvResult# - The category method works fine, shows me all the categories... The getAll does not. It says Error Occurred While Processing Request Variable INVALL is undefined. You can see this here: http://coldfusionwebs.com/mxtest/inventory.cfm What is up with this? They are called the same exact way...the query allINV is returning 212 records. Any ideas? ~~ Stephenie __ Your ad could be here.
