For some reason you have a CFIDE dir in your cf_root and in your webroot.
Make sure the two have the same files, or rename the CFIDE dir in your
cf_root.

If anyone can take a gander and see if this exists on their machines as

If you have a CFMX for J2EE on JRun,
create a directory:

create two files in this directory with any content:

test.cfm
See if they will run successfully

If you have a CFMX standard install
create a directory:

OK..

I was hoping that after a few posts last week that a resolution would have
been posted...but I will try again. I have installed CFMX on a dev
server as a standalone webserver (port 8500). I have modified the .xml file
thus :

virtual-mapping
resource-path/WEB-INF/resource-path
system-pathc:\cfusionmx\wwwroot\/system-path
  /virtual-mapping

  virtual-mapping
resource-path/reed/resource-path
system-pathd:\reed\tonga\/system-path
  /virtual-mapping

And if I browser that virtual director this :

http://SERVERNAME:8500/reed/

I can actually see the files listed BUT when I click on any .cfm...I get the
following error..

JRun Servlet Error
404 File not found: /reed/yourpage.cfm

This is on ColdFusion 6.1

RE: Flash Remoting Issues with CFMX

2003-06-18 Thread Collin Tobin
Your flash remoting entry should look like this:

servlet
servlet-nameFlashGateway/servlet-name
display-nameFlash Gateway/display-name
descriptionAllows flash to connect to CFML and CFC templates./description
servlet-classflashgateway.controller.GatewayServlet/servlet-class
load-on-startup1/load-on-startup
init-param
param-nameDISABLE_CFWS_ADAPTERS/param-name
param-valuefalse/param-value
descriptionWhen set to true, this setting disables the ColdFusion
WebServices Adapters in the gateway./description
/init-param
/servlet

If you're running updater 3, just replace your FlashGateway servlet with the code
above. And Mike is correct, when this is set to 'true', this doesn't disable remoting,
only webservices for remoting.

I can use it in my CFM pages, trying to make it reproducible, but it is
working in other CFC's, so I am not quite sure what the problem is. Without
giving all my code, let me give you the gist:

A query is made to the database, picking out the mail server. The query is
called results, has a table called data that holds the server that I need to
ping

Now this data is in the format (don't ask me why they did it this way, I
just need to work around it, ugh) 01, 192.168.1.25 or whatever, you get
the point

So now I do the following:

CFSCRIPT
server = ListGetAt(results.data, 2, ,);
/CFSCRIPT

CFRETURN trim(server) /

Empty string.

So I tried it this way:

CFSCRIPT
server = ListGetAt(results.data, 2, , );
/CFSCRIPT

CFRETURN server /

This hack does not work

And I tried this way:

CFSCRIPT
server = trim(ListGetAt(results.data, 2, ,));
/CFSCRIPT

CFRETURN server /

Pretty much I have tried many different ways, all return an empty string
through out the whole application. no idea what is happening, ugh.

I also tried writing a UDF, didn't work, I am pretty much about to give up.
Another application that I need to write in ASP and drop MX? This is the 2nd
time this month I have had to abort MX because of it's problems and move to
ASP to get what I need done. If this keeps up, not sure how much longer I
will be staying with CF. Getting a little tired of getting more then halfway
through a project and having to stop because of it's problems and moving to
ASP.

Thanks!

cfquery name =q datasource = #dsn#

the id is integer 1;2; 3

cfoutput#valueList (q.id)#/cfoutput will return 1,2,3 in cfmx updater 2

if the query is converted to a wddx package and converted back to a query:
cfwddx action=cfml2wddx input=#q# output=session.wddxQuery

cfwddx action=wddx2cfml input=#session.wddxQuery# output=q

Subject: Possible bug in Updater 3

We have seen the following change in behavior in cfmx updater 3:
cfquery name =q datasource = #dsn#
   select id from table
/cfquery
the id is integer 1;2; 3

cfoutput#valueList (q.id)#/cfoutput will return 1,2,3 in cfmx updater 2
and 3
if the query is converted to a wddx package and converted back to a query:
cfwddx action=cfml2wddx input=#q# output=session.wddxQuery

cfwddx action=wddx2cfml input=#session.wddxQuery# output=q

now:

cfoutput#valueList (q.id)#/cfoutput will return
1.0,2.0,3.0 in updater 3 and it causing a lot of problems.

passing in urltest.cfm?myvar=thisfile.exe

for a page that contains:

cfoutput#url.myvar#/cfoutput
/cfif

I get: thisfile.exe

Let me check to see if this was an updater fix...

I've found that in CFMX, if you pass a URL param that contains a . CF
thinks it's a structure instead of a string, and therefore throws an
error when you try to output it. example:

 myPage.cfm?fileName=myFile.exe

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Subject: Re: Urgent problem with COM and CFMX

Yes they are. Let me explain better:

I have 2 servers. One with CFMX and win2k and other CFMX and winxp (both in english).
Both are running the same .cfm code (setLocale(Portuguese(Brazilian)). Both have the
language in Regional Options set to ENGLISH(United States), so the
#DecimalFormat(13.43)# returns 13.43, even thought the locale in cf is portuguese.

note: If i change the language in Regional Options in ctrl panel,
#DecimalFormat(13.43)# is 13,43 (note the comma)

The problem with the COM object is that in one of the computers, 13.43 is 30 and
13,43 is 30 (it must be stripping the decimal point or count it as thousand
separator) and on the other, the oposite occurs. Both have the same code, the same COM
object, the same language (i've double checked all the currencies, decimal definitions
and so) in ctrl panel... BUT, i had to write diferent code to use this COM with CFMX.

example of the code i had to wrote:

(the parameter passed to the COM must not be greater than 30, or it returns the error
code 2)

cfset variable = #attributes.variable#
cfobject name=bla action=create
cfset testvar = bla.Function(#NUMBERFormat(variable,'9.99'#)

cfif testvar EQ 2
cfset testvar = bla.Function(#LSnumberFormat(variable,'999.99'#) (note the
LS)
/cfif

cfswitch expression=#testvar

cfcase value = 0
code
/cfcase

cfcase value= 1,2
 code
/cfcase
/cfswitch

If you pass value 13.56 to the variable, it tries both 13.56 and 13,56. I had to
make that modification in order to run the same code on both servers.. and i has not
having to do this with cf5...

As i say before, MEGA WIERD. I think MM does not like brazilians as Allaire does =)
anyway, CARNAVAL is aproaching and i will soon forget about it LOL =)

Leonardo Crespo

Ps: CFMX has also a bug in LsCurrencyFormat when locale is set to portuguese. 13.50
should be R$ 13,50 and CFMX outputs as R$ 13,5 . I had to get a UDF to correct this in
cflib.org...
If there are any1 having this problem, the UDF is called BrCurrencyFormat
(www.cflib.org).

ARRRGHHH i got the problem! That should be related how JAVA interprets numbers
in diferent locales.

Using Locale(portuguese(Brazilian)) in CF5, the number #DecimalFormat(14.57)# was
displayed as 14.57. In CFMX, it is displayed as 14,57 (note the coma).

So, in my COM object, when i try to pass the value 0.50, witch means 500g as weight,
it interprets as 50kg, returning a wrong shipping charge. I didnt notice that beuse
the value returned by the COM is used in other expressions to calculate the shipping.

I did a workaround as follow:
  ===
  .
   cfobject type=COM name=tar class=Tarifa.clsServicoDLL action=Create
cfset CtErro = tar.CalcularTarifa(#attributes.servico#,
#attributes.cepInicial#, #attributes.cepFinal#, #DecimalFormat(pesoKg)#)

cfswitch expression=#CtErro#
cfcase value=1
 cfset ValorTarifa = tar.ValorTarifa / 1000 (NOTE THE / 1000)

Everything works fine with cf5, but when i migrate to cfmx, i got the following
error:

  ---
Error casting an object of type java.lang.Double to an incompatible type. This
usually indicates a programming error in Java, although it could also mean you have
tried to use a foreign object in a different way than it was designed.
java.lang.Double

Since i know nothing about java, i dont know where to start. Code was working
fine, files are registered with regsvr32 and in place. all the attributes where passed
as usually with cf5. My code for the custom tag is:
==
cfset pesoKg = attributes.peso / 1000
cfobject type=COM name=tar class=Tarifa.clsServicoDLL action=Create
cfset CtErro = tar.CalcularTarifa(#attributes.servico#,
#attributes.cepInicial#, #attributes.cepFinal#, pesoKg)

cfswitch expression=#CtErro#
cfcase value=1
 cfset ValorTarifa = tar.ValorTarifa
/cfcase
/cfswitch

!--- zera variaveis ---
cfset tar=
cfset tarSerAd=
==

If i remove all the lines exept the cfobject, it does not show errors. I think
the problem is in the line:

cfset CtErro = tar.CalcularTarifa(#attributes.servico#,
#attributes.cepInicial#, #attributes.cepFinal#, pesoKg)

I tried to wrap #pesoKG# in quotes, no sucess. The only way i can make this
error dissaper is by using the #ToString(pesoKG)#, but this leads me to incorrect
values (very incorrect) returned by the COM object.

If you have some experience, please let me know what kind of error this is and
where should i look for to try to fix it. Should this be code related?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Subject: Converting a recordset to XML

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to convert a recordset in
CFMX to XML. We're still using SQL 7.0, so we can not use the native XML
features of SQL Server 2000. Would it make sense to select the data like this:

Select 'title' + title + ',/title as title
from movies

Or is there a better way convert a record set to XML quickly? Are there any
plugins for SQL Server.

Ok, so I have a cfc that pulls data from a database:

cffunction name=getDropDownData access=public returntype=query
cfargument name=pageType_ID type=numeric required=true
default=0
cfset var qgetDropDownData = /

/cfquery

cfreturn getDropDownData

/cffunction

/cfcomponent

And then I also have an xml file that populates a flash menu:

?xml version=1.0?
NAV main_onColor=#00 main_offColor=#ff
sub_onColor=#00 sub_offColor=#66 navWidth=150 fadeTime=0
lineWidth=150 main_y_padding=4 sub_y_padding=2 sub_indent=10

  SUB text=Current Personal Reads URL=http://www.ragoarts.com;

So, my question is, how do I get the query to populate the xml nodes?

Is it possible to somehow loop throught the query and ouput the
attributes like... (this is conceptual code only)

   MAIN text=#DD_Header1# expand=true
  SUB text=#DD_SubHeader1# URL=#DD_SubHeader_URL#/SUB

variable called results. They must all be comma delimited.

cfquery name=GetEnv datasource=database-name dbtype=ODBC

Do I need to loop through it?

Example:

variable = var1,var2,var3,var4...etc

It should be converted to a query. So your argument would be:

cfargument name=whatever type=query required=true or
false, up to you

Flash remoting and loop through the recordset in the cfc?

I know i need a function (cffunction) called

I'm querying a search resultset and getting an error. It must be some kind
of syntax thing but I don't see it. Does anyone see a problem with this
query.

The first query returns the following:

CUSTOM1 CUSTOM2 KEY RECORDSSEARCHED SCORE
SUMMARY
April 2002 article 970 14210.7742 ...
-10025 25 14210.7742 ...

When I query this query result with the following I get error.

 select * from results
  where custom1 = -100

I get error: Can't find symbol:

Without quotes I get: Error: April 2002 is not a number

Thanks for any help.

Can anyone confirm that the trial version of CFMX MM
is providing is the enterprise version? Their site
appears to only offer two options for a trial
download, the new J2EE CFMX and I guess a 'regular'
CFMX server. They don't specify if its the pro or
enterprise version that I would be downloading.

Thanks,

Hi,

Everytime I re-start CF services the DSN's no longer work. I need to go into edit mode
with each one and re-submit to make them work. Recreating doesn't help either. I'm
thinking there's something wrong with the datasource xml file and maybe deleting it
and recreating datasources.

Is this a good idea?

Hello all,

I am curious. I have seen numerous responses on just about every post but mine, which
I have posted twice. Did I violate a protocol? Or is this just an unsolvable issue?
I have been beating my head against the wall on this issue for 2 weeks. Should I
abandon ship and look for another way of doing this? OR have I found a bug? Some
feedback would be helpful.

Thank you,

Hello all,

I am running CFMX on WindowsXP Pro using the CF built in web server.

I have a problem with label formatting in a chart. I am trying to produce a Gantt
Chart. I want my Y axis labels to be dates within a specified range. I have set
them to the range and the labelformat attribute to date, but all the labels show up
as 12/31/69. I have tried adding an offset thinking it was an epoch date issue
without any difference in result. When I switch the labelformat to number, the
values are valid date serial values. How do I get dates to show up as Y Axis labels?

The pertinent portion of the code follows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cfset StartDate = CreateDate(2002, 1, 1)
cfset EndDate = CreateDate(2002, 12, 31)
cfset NoWeeks = DateDiff(w, StartDate, EndDate)
cfchart format=flash scalefrom=#StartDate# scaleto=#EndDate#
gridlines=#NoWeeks + 1# seriesplacement=stacked showxgridlines=no
showygridlines=yes showborder=yes fontbold=no fontitalic=no
labelformat=number yaxistitle=Duration show3d=no rotated=yes sortxaxis=no
showlegend=no showmarkers=yes chartheight=400 chartwidth=1400
url=javascript:showMilestoneChart('$ITEMLABEL$')

Does anyone have a super simple example of taking a CFQUERY and passing

We just want to do basically a CFOUTPUT inside of flash. Some of

I am playing around with some cfc's to get a better grasp of them on
MX...

Now, one of the methods works fine (category)...one does not (getAll)...
Here is the cfc code (inventory.cfc)
-
cfcomponent hint=Inventory functionality

!--- list all categories ---
cffunction name=Category hint=Get list of categories

cfquery name=getCat datasource=coldfusionwebscom
SELECT *
FROM Category
/cfquery

cfreturn getCat
/cffunction

!--- get all in inventory table ---
cffunction name=getAll access=remote

Cfquery name=allInv datasource=coldfusionwebscom
SELECT *
FROM Inventory
/CFQUERY

cfreturn invAll

/cffunction
/cfcomponent

--

Here are the calls to the methods

Get the cateogries (category):brbrbr

cfinvoke component=Inventory method=Category returnvariable=cat
cfdump var= #cat#

get all inventory (getall):br
brbr
cfinvoke component=Inventory method=getAll
returnvariable=InvResult cfdump var= #InvResult#

-

The category method works fine, shows me all the categories... The
getAll does not. It says Error Occurred While Processing Request
Variable INVALL is undefined.

You can see this here:

http://coldfusionwebs.com/mxtest/inventory.cfm

What is up with this? They are called the same exact way...the query
allINV is returning 212 records. Any ideas?
