RE: CCNP Certification [7:65759]
Ms. Oppenheimer, Are the new ccnp exams going to be 642 level exams? I recieved got that email from Cisco but after looking at the list of 642 exams, I just assumed that it was only for tests that I wasn't going to be taking. I thought they had already updated the BSCI test. Am I way off base here? The CID exam replacement is imminent because they've announced that one. But the other ones haven't been announced, so we can't assume any dates for CCNP exam replacements. CCNP Certification [7:65759]
I recently read a press release stating that any new CCNP exam (bearing the prefix 642 if I remember correctly) will automatically recertify my current CCNA certification. Does anyone know when any of these new exams are due out? And if the content will be radically different to the current exam? RE: CCNP Certification [7:65759]
the new CCNP exams are already in place and you are correct in stating that it will renew your CCNA cert. Go to cisco.com and check the outlines of the tests to see specifically what they cover. CCNP certification
Hello everyone, Just a stupid question - I did my CCNA certification (ver1.0) about 2 years ago and I'm currently studying for CCNP. Is it true that I must first re-certify my CCNA before I could take my CCNP exams? Or can I just do my CCNP and don't have to worry about my CCNA. Can somebody please shed some light on this? RE: CCNP certification
Lee, I did my CCNA a year ago under 1.0 and am currently taking my CCNP exams under 2.0. I don't believe it matters as long as your CCNA is current, which I believe is 3 years on the CCNA. So you should be okay. You don't need to take the CCNA again. I got my CCNA back in April '99. I took 3 of the old CCNP tests and 1 of the new ones and they still gave me my CCNP (v1.0 of course). -Original Message- From: Hunt Lee [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 02, 2001 9:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: CCNP certification Hello everyone, Just a stupid question - I did my CCNA certification (ver1.0) about 2 years ago and I'm currently studying for CCNP. Re: CCNP certification
Your CCNA 1.0 is valid towards the CCNP 2.0 track. If your getting close to having to re-certify the CCNA (It's valid for 3 years) you don't think you'll be done with the CCNP by then, you may have to re-certify CCNA before the CCNP will be valid. RE: CCNP certification
Right now you can't take foundation, so depending on your timing you will have to take all 4 exams. Other than that, it's up to your exam taking tastes. Do you like longer or shorter exams? There's been plenty of discussion on the subject a while ago, so may want to check the archives. Now as far as I'm concerned I'll take all 5 tests (for CCNP/CCDP) because I don't want to wait. If I had the choice, though, I would much rather take foundation, and get it over with quickly, as I get very anxious around test week :-) Francisco Muniz.
