I tried to upgrade Ciscoworks 2000 cd one from 4th edition to 5th edition, I experienced a lot of problem. Also, I prefer to have fresh install rather than upgrade. Cisco Works 2000 LMS [7:50161]
Anyone running the Ciscoworks2000 LMS package? It looks all-inclusive, but I'm curious if you purchased any other products along with it. We will have about 40 6509's to manage in the next few months and are looking for something to help use present the network in a GUI fashion. The old Cabletron network was all GUI based for VLANs and they support staff is accustomed to using non-CLI tools. We want to manage faults, topology and VLANs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, has anyone attended the CiscoWorks2000 boot camp from Global Knowledge? I have it scheduled in September and was hoping it would provide a jump start in our process. Thanks for any suggestions. No for that purpose it doesn't matter if you disable console or buffer logging, in my opinion. Do you see the messages in the file the syslogd on the server is writing into? (cat syslog.file | grep name_of_the_device_you_are_looking_for) if yes, check for filters in the CW syslog analysis setup. if no, could be anything, do you have routing etc. ok? firewall, access-lists ... good luck georg ""maamun Murangwa"" schrieb im Newsbeitrag [EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]... > Hi all, > > I have been trying to configure cisco works to receive > syslogs from all my routers. Re: Config Changes on Cisco Works [7:23539]
It won't unless you do the config change via either CiscoView or SNMP by scheduling the change through the Change Audit piece. You must go to RME/Configuration Management/Update Archive to get CWRKS2000 to learn about changes made via the CLI. Re: Cisco Works 2000 [7:3492]
Dude- Good Luck !!! The global class was canceled here in the DC area, so I bought two course books off of Ebay ($400 each, but awesome books). I havean NT copy of CW2000 & Campus Manager running on my PC (WIN 2K Server/ 512 RAM/ Gig processor), and it's still a tad sluggish. I'm slowly getting my lab routers & switches installed in the database. I bought a Cisco/NetScout probe to run in Traffic Manager & just picked up a CWSI bundle off of Ebay, so I now have a lot of the official install notes. The CCO is available, but you really need to have a specific question when digging through all the information. There are no Cisco Press books, & not much of a support base if you are learning CiscoWorks solo. I can share some advice & what to avoid, that's about it. I would estimate It will have cost me almost $1,500 for all the gathered material to study from (including the probe), but I work for a small network design company & I'll recoupe the investment back fairly quickly (kinda makes the pursuit a little fun). All the best !!! Re: Cisco Works
Cisco works uses the same packets as CDP, so the ciscoworks station must be able to send CDP like packets to the switches, if you able to do so, then you are set. -- On Fri, 30 Jun 2000 00:02:58 News Cisco wrote: >not sure >but if u r trying to access/monitor ur devices through resourse manager & u >can telnet/tftp the remote sites then definitely u'll be able to remotely >administrator all the devices coz as far as i know it uses three methods to >give u access to ur remote sites for monitering/administration >tftp >telnet >rcp > >'Bliss' > >Jeff Walzer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message >[EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]... >> I have a question concerning Cisco Works. Cisco Works
I have a question concerning Cisco Works. We are planning to roll out various Cisco switches to our offices (1900 and 3500 series switches) in the US. All 12 offices will be connected through VPN tunnels using Watchguard hardware. My question is will I be able to see all of the switches to perform remote administration through the VPN using Cisco Works?
