Re: [CGUYS] droid self-photography?

2009-12-06 Thread Stewart Marshall
These ad folks are pretty savvy and do a lot of market research
before they put together these ads. That is what they are paid for.

Occasionally they drop a bomb (pun not intended) but usually they do
a very good job.

When I first saw the commercial I was intrigued then when they did
the drop thing I understood totally.

It looks like an alien, a robot otherworldly.

So why not bring up transformers, war of the worlds etc.

Apple pays big bucks for their ad people to do their job and they
came up with some really good ones.

Hey, I live and work way out in the country myself, miles from any

description of urbanites as being sophisticates in parentheses, as in
sophisticates, thereby indicating the tenuous nature of such a
viewpoint.

The creators of that ad are the ones who might have a superiority
complex, not me. They are the ones who cast the two cowboys who, near
the tail end of the ad, approach the ominous pod when one of them says
in a hick-like drawl, What in the world is that?

Again. my main observation is the clear depiction of the United

should have mentioned he was writing a iphone manual in the review.

2009-11-07 Thread mike
Keep in mind, not all android phones are equal. Verizon released two droid
phones this week, the other may be closer to what you need. Some of the
manufacturers like HTC and Samsung are putting front ends on android and
enabling more capabilities along with the front ends.

Some phones have cameras on the front and back of the phone. You can do
video calls if you want. That's an extra feature for most people, but
for those who can't hear, it could be a life-saver. It lets those people
talk to each other in sign language on a cell phone. Most mobile phone
mfgs have at least one phone with this feature.

Not sure if that's what you mean by a phone taking pictures of itself.
Is that like the Mars explorer robots sending self portraits back to earth?
