It stirs on its own. The model is called the Tefal actifry and there are only two buttons on the unit. One is to turn it on and off and the other is for an independent timer which I personally never use. It's extremely blind friendly and easy to use. Re: [CnD] air fryers and fries
Hi Andrew. I've had an air fryer for some years. I use an original Tefal Actifry. I like this model as it has a stirring paddle. Unfortunately, the paddle can break up crumbed or battered items, so I have an accessory snacking basket which can be used in place of the paddle for such foods. Hope this helps. Re: [CnD] air fryers and fries
The air fryer kind of reminds me of the Jet Stream oven, a round electric air cooker, with a noisy motor. It was nice, but I eventually got rid of it after some time. Re: [CnD] air fryers and fries
Mine does look a lot more like a counter top oven, but as far as I know, they all use the same type of air flow technology. Some people have even called them just small counter top convection ovens. I don't care what it's called, I just know it works very well so they can call it what they like. ~Ann On 1/18/2019 2:58 PM, andrew edgcumbe via Cookinginthedark wrote: So i h things i see air fryer and air fyer ovin refered to are they to different things? as when i felt an air fryer box it was more size of a ref regular deep fryer. Hi, I have done fresh cut fries and potato wedges in my air fryer, and they turned out great, even the first time while I was still learning to use the thing. I have done the wedges both ways, with or without skin. Re: [CnD] air fryers and fries
Hi, I have the 8 QT Power Air Fryer oven, and it gets used at least twice each day, It really does look like a small counter top oven. if not more. It comes with three trays or Air flow racks, a rotisserie, a set of ten skewers, and one extra large basket that fits in to the rotisserie slot. I had sighted help to label my most used settings on the touch screen, but I will admit that it took me quite a while to get used to the touch screen because it is so very sensitive. I believe there may be air fryers that still use buttons and not a touch screen, though, but I was not sure if they had the rotisserie feature, and let me tell you, I can make wonderful rotisserie chicken. The tough part is finding chickens that will fit, so I've eaten a lot of game hens lately. LOL! ~Ann On 1/18/2019 11:14 AM, Sugar Lopez via Cookinginthedark wrote: Hi Ann Can you please share with me What style or what kind of air fryer do you use? Re: [CnD] air fryers and fries
Hi Andrew I am also planning to purchase an air fryer but there is so many out there and seems they do more than just fry. So it's taking me some time. So yes any suggestions of what style and which one is being used would be appreciated. As for fries, I have done them in the past. I usually make wedges and yes I always leave the skin on. I cut the potato long ways and keep cutting them in to the thickness of my choice. I don't cut them to thin and then I place a bit olive oil in a pan and let it got hot Then I place the fries in the pan until crispy. Another way to cook them is: place them once they are cut in to a zip lock baggie. Place seasonings, oil in it and shake the bag up till they're all covered with the mixture. then off to a cookie sheet the go and in to the oven for about 45 minutes or so at 350 degrees. My oven is set at 350 by default since it is an electric one so I don't really bother with changing the temp much Good luck Sugar "We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." -Sugar https://www.gofundme.com/sugars-transplant-journey -Original Message- From: Andrew edgcumbe via Cookinginthedark Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2019 7:26 PM To: cookinginthedark@acbradio.org Cc: andrew edgcumbe Subject: [CnD] air fryers and fries Hi My name is Andrew.
