[Bug 484043] [NEW] double click full screen plugin - undesired behaviour
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog This bug/feature request regards eye of gnome 2.28.1, which I'm running on ubuntu 9.10. When the "Fullscreen with double click" plugin is enabled, and when viewing a large image full screen, there is is scroll bar on the right. Clicking the scroll arrows scrolls as desired, but if you click too rapidly, it counts as a double-click and the image reverts back to being displayed in a window. The same applies when viewing in a window and scrolling, double-clicking the scroll arrows triggers the image to be displayed fullscreen. Since clicking scroll buttons rapidly is pretty common, I think the desired behaviour for this should be that double clicks be ignored on the scrollbar and only trigger the fullscreen/window change when they are on the image itself. [Bug 484018] [NEW] F-spot deletes pictures from camera instead of hard drive after seemingly importing a roll
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot PROBLEM F-Spot is unclear about when it's imported pictures, and when you're just viewing them on your camera. This can lead to unfortunate loss of data. HOW TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect a digital camera to your computer. Make sure that your camera is turned on and has photos on its internal memory or memory card. 2. Select the option that says to import photos to F-Spot, on the dialog box that appears. 3. Wait for thumbnails to load. 4. Uncheck the option that says to copy the photos to Photos, since you have your own folder organization scheme. 5. Highlight the photos that you want to copy. 6. Click on the button to import them. 7. Watch all of the photos, including the ones you did not highlight, appear in F-Spot's main window. 8. Conclude, erroneously, that F-Spot just imported all of your photos, including the album art on your smartphone's memory card and the pics of your significant other. 9. Highlight the photos you didn't want imported, and select delete from drive. 10. OPTIONAL: Access your smartphone's memory card and delete all the photos you've just copied in order to make room for more, and so that they don't show up in the thumbnails the next time you try to import to F-Spot. 11. Double-click on one of the thumbnails of the photos you "imported" in F-Spot's main window. Note that a placeholder image appears. 12. Realize you just lost all your pictures. COMMENTARY F-Spot's user interface may be unclear about when the pictures you're viewing are still on the camera, and when they are now on your hard drive. [Bug 319575] Re: multiload-applet + sshfs breaks suspend
The bug remains unfixed in Karmic with Gnome 2.29.1. I stumbled on this bug report (excellent work from Bogdan, btw) after I had, for the umpteenth time, lost suspend on my MacBook 4,1 with Ubuntu. It is indeed the combination of the disk load monitor with an active sshfs mount that blocks the multiload-applet task and causes any suspend attempt to fail. It wasn't easy to figure this out, with truncated "multiload-apple" [sic] strings in my log files being one of the major hurdles. [Bug 483989] [NEW] Importing from Samba share extremely slow: "Internal GStreamer problem; file a bug"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I am attempting to import my music over a samba share from another Ubuntu 9.10 box. The music is being imported very slowly and has returned loads of import errors as described in the summary. "Internal GStreamer problem; file a bug" At first I thought it wasn't importing recursively, as it imported the files directly in the primary directory quickly, but after about 20 minutes I started seeing some of the files from subdirectories appear. I have attempted to import directly over samba (i.e. smb://servername/music) and as a mounted directory (i.e. file:///media/music). I've seen this problem reported over and over going back to Gutsy, but still no resolution? After ~1 hour of importing I have 186 out of over 10,000 songs imported. This process took only about a minute on the machine where the files reside. Re: [Bug 444881] Re: [Karmic] Battery monitor applet doesn't show battery remaining time
It has been confirmed that this specific issue is very real. Therefore, I ask that anything with different symptoms be filed in different bug reports. (This includes gnome-power-manager reporting inaccurate battery level percentages. In this case, it knows the percentage). The bug is not present on my Asus f8sv-a1, so it is hardware-specific. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gimp When using gimp-2.6.7-1ubuntu1 in Ubuntu 9.10, GIMP will freeze after a few modifications to an image, most often applying filters such as Drop Shadow. Note the option that says to use 3d mode. 6. [Bug 118800] Re: Passwords should not be required when creating accounts
In a "shared family computer" where the PC automatically logins a random user, this "feature" in empathy is useless, and actually puts your passwords at risks. [Bug 11222] Re: Add auto-organize support to Rhythmbox
It is a bit pointless to use a fancy GUI music manager when you still have to maintain the integrity of your library folder yourself. If the tracks are sorted into folders by artist and album, those folders should update to reflect any changes in the metadata of the tracks themselves. If this is not the case, you end up with a directory structure that is inaccurate and misleading. Perhaps it is a product of people coming from Windows, expecting to be able to organise their music in the same way. I don't buy that though. Supposedly, Amerok organises your library. Banshee certainly does. In addition, so to iTunes and WMP11.
