[Bug 646554] Re: Won't add files to JAR unless renamed to ZIP extension

2011-04-03 Thread yoblin
This now works for me in 2.32.0.

One thing I noticed, however, that I'm not sure is a bug:

If you drag and drop onto a zip archive that does not have a .zip
extension (e.g. archive), file-roller will create a separate file
(archive.zip) rather than updating the file you have open. Not sure
about other archive types.

Once empathy was closed and opened again, the participant window in the
chat windows was still expanded. So I don't know if the collapsed
windows was something from my session or was related to the Natty
update. As I said in the last comment it happened also to another
participant of the chat who had updated to Natty.

[Bug 515057] Re: does not remember the adjustments of extra pane

2011-04-03 Thread Yair Krauze
I would like to add my vote as well to this issue.

I often use split-panel mode to transfer files and compare directories.
It is quick, easy, and built-in.

I do not see what the problem is with making this an option so that
those who wish for the split-panel view to be the default behavior can
do so. It does not affect the functionality of the tool (it already
does so), and should be straight forward enough to implement.

I am quite surprised at the upstream's decision and dismissal of what is
a useful feature.

[Bug 569065] Re: Battery level detected incorrectly

2011-04-03 Thread Matthew Stephenson
Lenovo T510 here too.

I think I remember reading somewhere that it might be caused by a chip
which can be configured to report the battery parameters in either watt-
hours or amp-hours, and somewhere along the line the units get confused
or the chip is changed from one unit to another. I can't find where I
read this, but it might be worth investigating.

It claims it to be 437, while the correct one is 737:

[Bug 749639] [NEW] Ubuntu Classic on NattyNarwhal themes are inconsistent

2011-04-03 Thread lizzie
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

RELEASE: Ubuntu 11.04
PACKAGE: 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu11 (gnome-control-center)

My intent is to change the side of the maximize/minimize buttons. I go
to System-Preferences-Appearance-Themes, and note that all the
choices show the buttons on the right hand side. (NOTE: Default
selection is Ambiance, where the buttons are on the left hand side, but
according to the icon, should be on the right.)

Ambiance, Dust, Radiance themes show the buttons on the right hand side,
however, if you choose these themes, the buttons are moved to the left
hand side.

[Bug 749678] [NEW] battery status icon does not change after fully charged

2011-04-03 Thread David Mohammed
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

ok - this issue doesnt occur with either lucid or maverick. However
after migrating to natty the following happens.

The battery status icon correctly shows power discharging when on
battery power. When I connect the power, it again changes to a power
symbol and charges ok. On full charge it correctly displays fully
charged. However, disconnecting from power, the icon remains fully
charged.

If I choose the option display icon only when charging or discharging,
the icon correctly disappears after a full charge. However it doesnt
reappear when the AC is disconnected.

[Bug 664206] Re: SSH_AUTH_SOCK not being properly set: user has to type password even if saved in the password manager

Probably not, the new gnome-keyring may have new dependencies. It's
better to test on a full natty system, because if it's not working, we
can't know if it's because your system is not natty, or if the programm
is not fixed.

[Bug 501426] Re: When printing a calendar, the font size is too small

2011-04-03 Thread Conrad Steenberg
A fix for this problem is attached.

Since the original calendar code is a spaghetti maze of magic numbers
and manual inconsistent tweaks, this patch just changes the tweaks a
little to achieve a larger font size.

I've built packages for Natty and will try to create a PPA for it.

[Bug 749803] Re: brasero crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() when audio cd inserted in a PIONEER drive

2011-04-03 Thread ianp
If this might have something to do with the drive not being compatible
with Linux, then consider that I'm able to play audio cd using SMPlayer
0.6.9 with the MPlayer backend without SMPlayer crashing.

So this might not be an issue with the drive itself, but with how the
applications (Brasero, Rhythmbox, Sound-Juicer) interact with the drive
when audio cd is inserted.

[Bug 748022] Re: File Browser crashes on first Natty startup

2011-04-03 Thread Jeroen T. Vermeulen
Unfortunately I'm not near the system I dedicated to testing Natty, so
it's hard to get more details right now. But here goes:

1. Steps taken to produce: Configure auto-login. apt-get dist-upgrade
to natty. (Upgrading using update-manager hasn't worked for years on
this machine, but I filed that as a separate bug). Boot for the first
time.

2. Behaviour I expected: A working desktop environment.

3. Behaviour I encountered: A crash dialog as described in the bug.

I don't see how the debugging procedures for feisty could help with this
problem: it happened on first startup after the upgrade, but as already
noted, not the second. That means I can't install the debug X server
(if it's even relevant on natty!) and then reproduce the problem.

[Bug 749934] [NEW] incorrect keymap name in indicator-applet

2011-04-03 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

My desktop currently is configured with the following keyboard maps
(according to gconf names):

[fi classic,se rus]

In the keyboard map applet that appears in application-indicator, the
first one is correctly identified as Fin.

However, the second one is incorrectly identified as Swe, even though
this is a Russian keyboard map variant (with the usual Cyrillic
letters). The se prefix in the gconf key refers to the fact that
punctuation marks are designed to match the locations on a Swedish
keyboard map, to ease a phonetic transition between a normal Swedish map
using Latin letters with Scandinavian vowels and a Russian phonetic map
using Cyrillic letters. This is mainly usefull for Russian speakers
living in Finland or Sweden, who constantly need to switch between two
alphabets. It therefore should be identified as Rus in the 3-letter
identifier that appears besides the applet's icon in the notification
area or in indicator-application.

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 580961] Re: unzip fails to deal correctly with filename encodings

2011-04-03 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
frol wrote 51 minutes ago:
Alkis, You need to cantact libnatspec maintainer about this bug:
 https://launchpad.net/~r0lf/+contactuser

That person closed my bug report (LP #477755) where I was suggesting the
altlinux solution that was finally accepted upstream, in order to open this
bug. Then he told me that comments in this bug report were unwelcome (comment
#16), so I became unable to provide feedback to the bug I reported.
Then he started asking people money about his packaging job in libnatspec
(developed by Vitaly Lipatov) and being rude when people weren't willing to pay.
Fortunately at a point he got insulted because people continued to comment on
this bug report, and left.

What I mean is that I don't want to contact that package maintainer, and if
possible, I wouldn't want to use his package either, more so when the upstream
solution doesn't use it.
I've been coding open source programs for almost 20 years now, and been
packaging some of them in the last few years that I've switched to Linux. I'd
prefer to redo any needed coding or packaging work myself before having to
cooperate with such a person.

For now I'll just wait for Debian to package the newer version of unzip,
and then contact upstream if any problems persist.
