Re: [DISCUSS] Discuss Apache Flex SDK 4.13.0 RC3
Hi All, Is there any workaround for the RSL issues which Justin mentioned in this thread..? Because our product heavily depends on RSL. We definitely want to fix them. Hard to tell after the SDK has been produced but the lib jars at least need double checking and while I hate to bring it up the licenses may be an issue. We can probably live with the differences caused by the binary bundling issues. The build stuff missing would causes no issues - although it would be nice to have IMO, after all we do bundle the source code. Thanks, Justin
Re: Somebody help me...
Also, I have one more point to add, may be firewall is blocking some file from downloading, like exe, jar, etc, is it possible to download it as zip or rar and extract it before using it? and last Saturday I tried to download flex 4.12.0 (to setup flexjs manually) manually, it seems most of the mirror site have bad zip file, after downloaded the sdk I was not able to extract it and getting bad zip, incomplete zip kind of error. I even tried to download from the apaches backup server, it also have the same problem. *Regards,S. Jagan Langa* *|* *Project Manager* *Sybrant Technologies Pvt. Environment variable not used. Good point. That error indicates that the mxmlc.jar it was looking for was not there, but in theory it just got copied in the steps before, so I really don't how to get into this situation. Hi, When I tried downloading the SDK by [RC] Installer 3 ((have configured the download cache option)), due to MD5 mismatch installation was aborted. The problem/feedback's I noticed here are, - there is no option to retry, I have to close the app. and restart it. - even after I restart the app. since i enabled the cache, it is reusing it from the cache and aborting the installation for the same reason. (I guess app. should delete (only) the corrupted file from the cache, instead of expecting the user to delete the cache by himself.) *Regards,S. Hi, In flex-config.xml file rsl's having the wrong version number like **_4.12.0.0.swf like in the following example. rsl-urlsparkskins_4.12.0.0.swf/rsl-url which is suppose to have something like the following rsl-urlsparkskins_4.12.0.20140303.swf/rsl-url Also, I was unable to compile any project in FB4.7 having FDK 4.12.0 as default SDK. it may be due to the above reason. Specifying multiple RSL URL
Hi All, This is how I deployed my application. ROOT/application.swf ROOT/MODULES/module1.swf ROOT/RSLS/rsl1.swf ROOT/RSLS/rsl2.swf This is how I specified the rsl's path while compiling my application and modules( in ant script) runtime-shared-library-path path-element=${RSL_DIR}/rsl1.swc url rsl-url=rsls/rsl1.swf / /runtime-shared-library-path runtime-shared-library-path path-element=${RSL_DIR}/rsl2.swc url rsl-url=rsls/rsl2.swf / /runtime-shared-library-path Here is my problem, application.swf uses the rsl1.swf as rsl and module1.swf uses rsl1.swf and rsl2.swf as rsl when i try to load the module1.swf inside the application1.swf, module1.swf is looking for the 2 required rsl's (rsl1.swf and rsl2.swf). since rsl1.swf is already loaded by the application1.swf it is taking it and trying to load the rsl2.swf from the ROOT/*MODULES*/RSLS/ path. since all the rsl's in the ROOT/RSLS folder, it is getting the 404 error for rsl2.swf and module1.swf is not loading. so, I updated the ant script as follows for the rsl2.swf, runtime-shared-library-path path-element=${RSL_DIR}/rsl2.swc url rsl-url=rsls/rsl2.swf / url rsl-url=../rsls/rsl2.swf / /runtime-shared-library-path now what happens is, since MODULES/RSLS/rsl2.swf receives 404; it tries to load the second fail-over one like this http://../rsls/rsl2.swf; which is also an invalid url. how can i specify more fail-over url's relatively. plz help me. * Regards, S. Re: [SUGGESTION] reg. Implementation of IDisplayText in RichEditableText class
Hi Alex, IDisplayText interface does not have anything else other than the following declarations, function get text():String; function set text(value:String):void; function get isTruncated():Boolean; except TextInput and TextArea other text based components like Label, RichText, RichEditableText have the definitions for declarations found in the IDisplayText interface. And in depth TextInput and TextArea uses the IEditableText interface as its skinpart, which in tern extends the IDisplayText. Re: TLF Modifications/Getting Involved
Hi all, IMHO. There are no much contributions to TLF only because of its closed nature. I also used TLF in my past projects. I felt very hard to modify the existing behavior, just because most of the classes are marked final, private, Excluded, internal, marked with custom namespace. I really welcomes Tony's interest. If we make the private/custom namespace methods to protected or public, we can see a lot of improvements/involvements in TLF also. +++1 for Tony's proposal. Are there any other classes other than these? public final class TextFlow public final class ParagraphElement public final class LinkElement To summarize things, I'd like to make the following general categories of changes to TLF: Remove many final classes, giving developers the ability to extend them. Attempt to make many hidden classes publicly visible so that they can be extended and use in the type of configuration described below. Make TLF more configurable, so that in places where TLF would create an instance of a TLF-type class, it instead accesses a user-configured factory for creating that type of class so that developers can inject their extended classes into their text with ease. (Probably in the Configuration class.) All sound like good ideas to me. Thanks, Justin -- * Regards, S. Jagan Langa*

I thought the problem he reported me came from the same kind of issues, I did a test in eclipse with 4.9/4.10: Same errors, the same project with IntelliJ has no issue. Someone's got an idea ? can it be a makeApacheFlexFlashBuilder problem ? Re: Issue In ANT Task To Compile Resource Bundle for Other Languages
Hi Carol, Thanks for your help. I'm new to ant. can you please tell me which root directory are your referring..? I tried to run the cmd ant other.locales and ant fr_FR in apache flex 4.9.0 sdk root directory and in SDK4.9.0/ant directory nothing helped me. On Wed, Jan 23, 2013 at 8:15 PM, Carol Frampton cfram...@adobe.com wrote: Sorry but I'm not going to take the time to figure out what your macro is doing. If you would like to create the bundles for the non-English languages, from the root directory execute ant other.locales. You can study what other.locales is doing if you want to figure out how to do it for just one locale rather than all of them.
