Well, this would be a very nice add-on! Re: [e-smith-devinfo] Bug reporting (was Re: problem with manager url in SME 5)
Okay Charlie, so I don't need to reply on your previous mail because this is the whole issue :-). You can't also see the graphics?? Did you also try http://ipofyourserver:980?? As I described the graphics showed up when I used this url. That's why I thought it was a bug in the e-smith manager url, but maybe that's a false alarm. I just reinstalled phpBB without major problems (yes a few but that's because I'm trying to convert my Ikonboard forum to the phpBB forum and has nothing to do with e-smith/sme), so I think the login failures in phpBB admin console are caused by mod_gzip and I think this is a little bug in this module. [e-smith-devinfo] problem with manager url in SME 5
Hi all, Today I reported a possible bug in mod_gzip when you use it with SME5. I reported this, because after an uninstallation my awstats graphics appeared again and my phpbb forum worked. That was wat I found out at school while connecting via a SSH tunnel to my home SME 5 manager and server. Now I'm home again and when I accessed my server manager the awstats graphics didn't appear! I found out what the problem was. In e-smith 4.1.x I could use this url in my case to access the e-smith-manager: http://e-smith.minddigger.com/e-smith-manager The SME 5 manual says this url is changed in http://www.yourdomain.xxx/server-manager When I access my server manager by this url the awstats graphics don't appear but when I use http://192.168.1.1:980 they do! So, this problem wasn't probably a bug in mod_gzip, I think it is a minor bug in the SME manager url (and dns process). I don't know this for sure and want to know your opinions of this issue before I report it as a serious bug to e-smith/mitel. I didn't reinstall the phpBB yet, so I can't confirm yet if this problem was definitely caused by the mod_gzip module. I'll stay tuned and post any more usefull information about this... [e-smith-devinfo] services rpm for e-smith
Hi all, I got a little problem with my freshly installed sme server (nothing strange I think for a linux 'newbie'). I hoped the services rpm for the older e-smith server and gateway (this one: http://www.e-smith.org/contrib/rpm-index/RPM-e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-0 1.noarch.html) was working also at the new server. It installed without any problems and the link appeared in the manager, but when I click "change" it says the page can not be displayed ?! So, I wanted to uninstall it, but rpm -e e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-01 doesn't work :( Is there anyone making a working services rpm for the new server? I want to disable atalk and squid. Or is there another way to disable these two services? Re: [e-smith-devinfo] backup question
Well, I created a bootable cd with driveimage on it. I thought this is also mentioned in the official manual of driveimage. The technique is the same as on windows. You boot with the cdrom and make an image from all partitions (just select all 3 partitions) and the compressed image will be burned onto cdr. I think you should take a look at Powerquest DriveImage 4.0 I also use it...I made a bootable cd for it and when I boot from that cd, the programm can make an image of my entire harddisk directly on cd by burning it, but of course it is also possible to write it to another harddisk. - Original Message - From: "Lotas T Smartman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, July 28, 2001 4:17 AM Subject: [e-smith-devinfo] backup question > I want to backup my e-smith server. Hi all, I searched the internet for an rpm for my e-smith box which allows me to send and receive files with msn messenger. Is there anyone who can tell me where to find this? e-smith-manager problem
Hi, I got a serious problem...maybe it is not that worse, but as a relative linux newbie I don't know what to do! First of all, I would like to ask the e-smith webmaster if he could place a "date" and "requirements/required" field to the contrib pages. I asked this because I have the following problem: I just downloaded and installed the e-smith-linkstatus rpm from Stephen Noble and it gave some problems. First, the e-smith logo, the e-smith manager logo and the e-smith banner images are disappeared from my manager and no link status image is replaced for it :( This isn't the main problem. After that I wanted to install the e-smith-admin-vacation rpm from Daniel van Raay. It gave the error that it needed e-smith-vacation rpm so I installed that one. Another error said it also needed the e-smith-admin rpmwell...before I searched for that rpm I tried the e-smith managerand that is the problem!!! I'm not allowed to enter the manager webpage anymore???!!! HELP!! What am I supposed to do to fix this??? So, you see...it seems all fun to find some interesting add-on contrib rpm's for your e-smith server, but when there is no date of release and a required field which says to you what e-smith version is needed it will cause this sort of problems. I'm using e-smith 4.1 Can anyone help me??? I really don't know what to look after...and because I use my server and the manager a lot I would like to fix this very quick and without a fresh install of e-smith! Thanks in advance, Timothée
