Hi Toby, have you seen this page http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=33985topic=7292 you can just call urchinTracker(/pagefilename1 ); inside an ajax call. Thanks Scott are you suggesting using toggle instead of slide? I had this working fine; but that was with jq 1.0.3 I think. Its definately in how I am binding and unbinding the events. from the example I posted earlier I was trying to chain the unbind bind calls $(a.jLink) .unbind('click') .bind( 'click', {href: this.href}, function(event) { event.stopPropagation (); event.preventDefault(); jLinkCall(this.href); } ); that did not work. I have been a fan of youngpup (aaron boodman) for some time, I love his ypXmlTree which I am still using to date. This is the guy that openned my eyes to things like wyiwyg concepts. I am not the most majical of jquerians somewhat I keen novice A far as I see this could be put together with interface, if the scrollTo can work in a nest div, but would require a complete rework making it standard (removing the need for the description) and in turn simplification. the anchor items also have tooltip applied with different classes. Using the easing formulas would give an effect similar a flash effect. if scrollTo can work in a nest div perhaps a custom function could be made scrollToWithin(container, marker) $(a.anchor, a.top).click(function(event) { var url = this.href, namedPoint = '#' + this.href.split('#')[1]; anchorClick(namedPoint); }); function anchorClick(namedPoint) { $(namedPoint).ScrollTo(800, 'easeout'); } - S On 03/02/07, David [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: IMHO the scroll to functionality can be added best using anchors instead of the home-made description attribute. sweet! thrilling stuff. From what I can tell, Flashblock looks for two things specific to sIFR: - element class=sIFR-replaced.../element, which it hides with inline styles (can be any element). - span class=sIFR-alternate.../span, and it shows with inline styles (has to be a span). To get the same behavior with the jQuery Flash Plugin, you can change the default replace function, like so: jQuery.fn.flash.replace = function(htmlOptions) { this.innerHTML = 'span class=alt sIFR-alternate'+this.innerHTML+'/span'; jQuery(this) .addClass('flash-replaced') .addClass('sIFR-replaced') .prepend($$.transform(htmlOptions)); }; Here's an example: http://jquery.lukelutman.com/plugins/flash/example-flashblock.html Luke Sam Sherlock wrote: I have noticed that the flash plugin does not work with the flashBlock firefox extension whereas the both swfObject, UFO sIFR do work with the extension. Basically when I installed firebug 1, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. However when I enabled it firefox crashed on a wordpress site on my localhost. I restarted firefox again and enabled it again. It did not crash when I enabled it on a html4 site eg - www.linkdup.com - works fine - www.getk2.com - crashes when firebug is enabled I have found the comment on Joe's Blog to which I was referring here is: JohnH BTW, I noted that you rather cavalielry[sp?] (from my POV) state that it doesn't work with synchronous calls or XHTML. If it's free I'm prepared to work around that by temporarily disabling both. However that's kind of a big glaring hole in my mind and would defenitely stop me shelling out a required $25. I thought of the comment (above) made by JohnH, and thought that to be the reason. getk2 is served as text/html perhaps I am missing something, if so I would love to know what. any ideas?? -S On 04/12/06, Felix Geisendörfer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Huh? The basic message is that an XHTML doctype does not cause (any) browser to render the contents of a page as XHTML. Only sending the correct mime type (via php or some other server side technology) does that. The reason very few people are doing this is that IE 6 (not sure about 7) does not support XHTML at all. -- Felix -- http://www.thinkingphp.org http://www.fg-webdesign.de Mike Alsup wrote: I am happy to donate but will only really use it if it works with xhtml which currently causes it to crash firefox Huh? Could you call an _javascript_ function from within the flash movie thatcreates the object you need? Something like:- load page- insert flash movie- flash movie preloads itself- flash movie calls someFunction() in _javascript_ - someFunction() creates the object that talks to flash- - Profit!;-)That'd probably work ok if you only have one flash movie callingsomeFunction(), but would get a little hairy otherwise because someFunction() wouldn't know which element in the DOM called it.If embed / or object / fire onload events, it'd be possible to add acallback function -- but I'm pretty skeptical that they'd fire the event with any sortof consistency across browsers (if at all). You could use an Image object to preload your swf (if it's small), sothat it'd come from the cache when inserted into the page (using theImage object's onload event to trigger the $().flash call). thanks Klaus, looks like I'll have to bite the bullet with this json thingthanks alot!On 9/18/06, Klaus Hartl [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:You can try that and it makes more sense to me than extracting the data from your html.I recommend using JSON for that. Well, it would be possible to use getElementByID('music') and then see if the returned node is a div. It would deffinately be faster than using getElementsByTagName('div') and search that list for the one with the ID 'music'. I don't know what John did use. [jQuery] code explanation for loading content in place holders
A few weeks ago I asked for information about how to move xml data into a place holder div in a master document, it was pointed out to me that this approach would lead to difficulties. John offered to explain the code below I would greatly appreciate an explanation and perhaps an example of the code below Moving non-HTML elements into an HTML document is problematic in most browsers. Another recommendation: Instead of returning an XML document, return an HTML one - then you can do stuff like this: $(div/div) .html( htmlString ) .find(div#tmp-title) .appendTo(#title) .end() .find(div#tmp-body) .appendTo(#body) .end(); Let me know if that makes sense to you, I can try and explain it some more. --John much appreciated - Sam ps Pesky Internet provider cut me off, when they were supposed to be enhancing the service ironic which is why the delay :( ___ jQuery mailing list discuss@jquery.com http://jquery.com/discuss/
